Updated Optic Buildset

The Optic Buildset is now updated, many thanks to Angela! You can now re-download this set; it now contains all the set items plus a collection file for for both residential and community lots. Thank you for your support.

Unfortunately, my next upload's going to take a wee bit more time - I just want to make sure they look exactly the way I want them. And, yeah, I'm still new to object creation so I'm still learning about the technical stuff. So, uh, yeah, s'more time, guys. :D

Saddleburr Stables

Well, I did it...I broke down and got PETS. Hated it in TS2, but it isn't the same in TS3. The pets and strays aren't even mildly annoying and they don't wander all over your lots like they did in TS2. Horses are a blast! Lots of new stuff with them, and I played for a bit, as you can see by the gorgeous black Unicorn I am now the proud owner of. :D Anyway, after figuring out exactly what horses need and how much room they take up (alot!) I have come up with Saddleburr Stables.

Due out: Feb 12 - Tuesday

Custom Content: None...zero...zip...nada...really!

Outside: Barn, stocked garden, race training area, jump training area, several water stations with hay, fountain, landscaping, dog house.

Inside Barn: 3 Horse Paddocks, Sculpting area, Inventing area.

Inside House: 2 car attached garage, open floor plan, large kitchen with message center/computer area, fireproofed fireplace, small reading area, semi-formal dining, 3 bathrooms (2 up and 1 down), winding grand staircase, art area, 2nd computer area, 3 bedrooms, master has deck and private bath, and more!

my last updat on this thing was november 2009! it says i was out of town with family but i couldnt begin to tell you where i went..that was FOREVER ago lol..anyhoo i'm trying so hard to bring this sim-story i have in my head to reality but i'm having MAJOR writers block, i'm only getting bits a pieces of the story,but no real START point you know? anyhoo i probably won't update this very much but i'm sitting here eating ice cream bored and decided to check out my profile since i hvnt in a while, anyhoos i'm off to sim-world..well, after i add a few more TSR goodies to it of course TTFN

I hope there are still chronicles fans out there :) Because I'm back. I would have been back earlier, but I spent half a year in a foreign country, with my new computer, and without my sims being installed on it :( As I didn't have time before leaving... And I didn't have the discs. But now I'm back, I really really missed my neighbourhoods, and I'm about to start writing again :) So look for a new part of Veronaville Chronicles soon!

I hate viruses...

My computer crashed accidentally. It has a very tough Ukash-virus which seems to recist all my clever repairing efforts. So my plans about new screenies crashed among my computer. Sounds quite depressive but I won't give up. Some kind of nerd must fix the machine... I'm in a lack of TS2, heavens sake! xD This is what happens when you are hooked on something really badly! But no worries, I'm sure that after a few weeks my computer will be cleaned and my ablity to play will be back to normal again :D

Well my frist blog is about a famliy i just made called the Rangers, a single mom with 2 kids and her husband dumped her, the mum is called Sidney and the 2 kids are called Tom and Ellie.

Using the stuff I download of the sims resource I built them a house with the motherlode cheat and there living nicely

Oh, on the topic of why I'm doing no-custom-content Sims

I dunno...to see if it can be done, I guess. There was some language in the submission guidelines on this site that warned submitters that if they're not using custom content, their Sims had better show creativity. I think that can be accomplished using only the tools at your disposal in the base Sims 3 character creator. 

Submitting Ursula Fleming (Sims 3 custom Sim)

Not entirely sure how this process works, but I muddled my way through submitting a custom Sim, named Ursula Fleming. This was my attempt to do something slightly different. Goals were:

-Use only the resources available in the base game
-No custom content whatsoever. No skins, no sliders, no hair, etc.
-Create an attractive female Sim that doesn't look like Barbie or a supermodel, more of a girl-next-door who happens to be damn pretty
-Stage it nicely and make it availble to others

Anyway, if anybody ends up liking it, I may do some more. Thinking to submit Ursula's brother next, as there aren't a ton of interesting looking male Sims out there.

IMPORTANT! - Serious Problems with my Lot 1019 Hanalei Blvd

Hey Simmers,

I want to address to any downloaders of my Lots.. that there has been reports of problems with my latest published lot 1019 Hanalei Blvd.

In MY Game it tested fine.. so after some complaints of windows and doors not showing up and also furniture not showing I had a friend of mine ( a fellow creator here at TSR) test in her game.. and sure enough she sent me pics of what is happening. It is showing up as an unfinished lot almost.

I have NO IDEA why this is happening. I have never had this happen before even with the several hundred lots I built for Sims 2. I have contacted TSR Submission Staff asking to pull the Lot  and unpublish it... until i can figure out WHAT on earth is happening!

IF you have downloaded this lot and HAVENT experienced problems could you Comment below or PM me. I would like to know feedback so that I can determine what is going on.

I apologize profusely to all the downloaders as well. It is impossible to know this would happen.. especially when it has tested fine in game before publishing.

Rejection

I do not think I will ever submit again. I tried twice and was rejected twice. My sim somehow has package files that are not allowed. I am partially to blame. I should have picked another sim to upload or been more selective about everything I put on her. You see I had created her from another sim who came from the The Sims 3 Exchange. That sim and a sim of mine had a baby and she was so beautiful. I made her grow up and saved her to the bin to build on her. Long story short she inherited some lets call them bad genes I guess. So my poor baby was rejected twice. I had tried to fix everything but still there was something I missed. So she has been banned. Sorry sweet heart...I failed you. 

Computer Problems

I'm typing this from my husband's computer because of computer problems. My computer had hard drive failure etc. :( I'm currently saving up for a new computer. I hope to be back soon.

Ahahaha I thought I would share a screenie of my little coffee table mesh I am working on in Wings 3D for TSR University. It isnt much right now.. but trust me.. i have had to overcome ALOT of challenges just to get this far! LOL

Meshing is not for the faint of heart .. boy o boy.. it takes alot of patience and repetition as well doing things over and over and over.. and getting things wrong OFTEN. LOL. 

But i am very proud of myself! hehe... I wont despise small beginnings. All the fab meshers started off at Square one just like me.. just like this. I dont know if i will be a great mesher or not.. but I will try to learn this and master it! It has been a dream of mine for so many yrs.. to MESH!

Thought you'd seen the last of my lots, eh? Didn't think I had it in me anymore, right? Yeah...well, I guess we were both wrong. :D Had a special request to build a "Southern meets Farmhouse" kind of lot...and she wanted it all! LOL! The lot is currently in testing and has this for stats:

Floors: 2
Rooms: 3 Kids, 1 Nursery, 1 Master Suite - All totalled? 5
Bathrooms: 3.5
Garage: 2 Car w/ parking in front for a 3rd
Garden: Yes - Large and ready.
Pond: Yes - Stocked with fish AND frogs! :D
Pool: Yes
Size: Started it on a 40x40...had to move up to a 60x60. :D

Outside: Garden, pond, treehouse, grill, dining table, playground, pool, landscaping, parking for 1 extra car, bicycles. A butterfly spawner as well as lightning bugs for you collectors. One stocked fishing area, one stocked french frog area.

Inside: Open floor plan, 3 fireplaces (fireproofed!), large kitchen with breakfast bar/island, den/library area, living/family room with video game console, formal dining for 8, 2 car attached garage, open play area upstairs for kiddies, skill room, and all bedrooms.

Here are some sneak peaks at the house during testing. I do hope you like it! It should be done with testing in a day or so, so keep your eyes peeled for it!

500 Creations

I've reached a sort of milestone here at TSR - 500 creations.  While there are plenty of artists who have higher numbers, there's only a small handful of us who have submitted creations for The Sims, The Sims 2 and The Sims 3.  I just wanted to say Thank You to all of you who download my things and make it worthwhile.

Falling through the floor glitch. Yes! I fixed it!

O.K. it finally happened to me. My sims started going down invisible stairs in the floor. I was so upset. You see I'm in the process of filming. Lets just say that could really ruin a scene. Any way I searched the web for answers on how to fix it. It was not looking good. Aparently this is side affect to using the "moveObjects on " cheat code. I guess it happens if you use on a particular lot over and over.  All the blogs said that there is no way to fix it except move out. I was not moving out, I just got the set just the way I wanted it. So I decided to try something. I went to Edit Town and evicted my family. I had them leave everything in the house. Then I just moved them right back in. All their stuff was still there  and what do you know, they started using the actual stairs. What a relief. So if this happens to you, try this. It works. 

2 Month Break....

Hi all...
Unfortunately, over the next two months, I'll be unable to submit or create for the game. A few personal life issue have popped up requiring my immediate attention. 
Overall I'll be pretty inactive here on TSR. I'll probably be more active in the FB community, but still it will be short intervals.
The two month hiatus is only a guess...it may be a bit shorter, which is what I'm hoping. I'll be submitting a paint splatter set, as I have promised and after that I won't have the time for a bit to create...

Thank you so much for everyone's support and encouragement over the years I've been here. I'm truly grateful for all of your feedback and love to hear from you. Even if I don't respond in a timely manner to your comments or guestbook entries, I do read them and appreciate every bit of them.

So with that said, I'll see everyone in about 2 months!!! Hopefully with some new items!!!

Altruistic Dining

Been working on a new set, and have some other ideas for the guy sims in our lives. Here's a quicky pic of the Altruistic Dining Set currently in testing. Am working on a few more little objects for it, but so far it's looking pretty good in testing. :)

Yet another lot I just built... 1142 Fairweather Place

Happy Monday Simmers!

By now most of you know ... I love to Build! It is my passion and my hobby. Creating in general really!

Over the weekend I worked hard off and on ..on this lot . I was trying do do something more modern 

practicing my building skills..

I dont know if people will like it or not but I sure hope they do! I only sparingly furnished it as the file

was getting big and the last thing I want is for my lots to crash peoples games.

Most people will jus decorate furnishings , walls etc when they move their Sims in anyways. 

Please let me know what you think! I value feedback so that I can improve! I will be submitting this later today so hopefully it will get approved and be published by next week.

I may be taking a break ( short break) from building to concentrate on meshing.. but I have said this

several times LOL and haven't yet. I have been getting stuck with the meshing tutorials.. and when I

have gotten stuck to many times and my eyes start to cross and my head hurts .. I gravitate back to

building ( and recently doing paintings) :P

I want to learn how to make objects without milkshape 3d

I find it easy to use Sketchup and impossible to use any other program so i convert the collada to obj. via wings 3d and the TSR Workshop wont accept it what gives am i doing something wrong?
