Granny Martin's 2storey, red brick cottage has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms tucked in under it's shapely roof - and even though the footprint is small, there is plenty of room for everyone who comes to visit with Granny, while the downstairs area is not too large for just one old lady.
Granny Martin has lived in Sunset Valley for all of her adult life, having moved into the area with her late husband soon after they married and the Valley was first settled. Grandfather Martin was a market gardener who also had a small orchard as a sideline.
The property, known in the area as Martin's Corner, occupied all the land along Sunnyside Boulevarde between Sun Song Avenue and the Point. The Martins prospered. Their children grew up, married and moved on with their own lives and when Grandfather Martin died at a relatively early age, Granny took over the business full time. As she grew older, it became clear to her that she couldn't do justice to the physical work required, so she decided to subdivide the land for housing, keeping one central block for herself.
When the dust settled on the changes, she had built the unpretentious little brick cottage that stands here today. She made sure her bedroom was on the ground floor, and had the builder create suffient extra bedrooms on the upper level, for all the children and their children when they visit - which they do on regular rotations. . . this keeps Granny happy and all the family enjoys a break at the beach.
Granny Martin stays active tending to her small vegetable plot - her herb garden where she grows the ingredients for her various remedies and ointments - her lavender plants which provide oil and essence for her perfume and bath salts - her cherry and plum trees [the source of the fruit for her fabulous conserves]- her bees, which help to keep everything in the garden ticking along . . . and her birds, which provide never-ending enjoyment. Her day is full of these favourite activities.
Granny has a very modern washer and dryer in the laundry, but even though she agrees that the washer is a great asset, she still prefers to dry her wash on the two lines at the back door - placed to take advantage of the seabreeze, whichever way it blows! There is nothing so sweet smelling as laundry dried in the sun and sea air, is how she sees it.
Just for interest sake, the layout of the cottage is simple - kitchen, diningroom and laundry on one side of the central hallway which runs from the entry to the backdoor; TV lounge, main bathroom and Granny's bedroom on the other.
Upstairs the layout is very similar except that the hallway runs across the width of the house; here are a double bedroom with ensuite, two single bedrooms with shared bath and a guest suite comprising bedroom, sittingroom and bath.

- and most probably leave with an armful of produce from the garden, but definitely with a feeling of time well spent.

I have all EPs/SPs [up to and including Seasons] installed on my base-game; my game is fully patched [to 1.55.4.022002] and I have run TSR's Rigfix on all files in this build. Any custom content requiring a specific EP/SP [or Store item] will be replaced with a comparable, game default item if you do not have the expansion/stuff pack installed.
Such instances will not affect installation and play for Granny Martin's.
Note that, because of the way in which the game recognises and renders plants and such, Granny Martin's will take longer to load than an unlandscaped lot. . . it isn't an error in the game!
