Enter the world of Apple Harvest - a girl a little more awkward than most.

When we left off, Apple's parents had just been killed in a car accident. She had to start to face her fear of social situations after finding out that her parents had left her with no money and A LOT of debts.

She managed to get the family home sold and acquired a rental property where she is now living with a young man named Freddy Wright...
Living with Freddy turned out to be great. Apple felt completely comfortable around him and wished that she hadn't stayed cooped up alone for so long.

Freddy was hopeless in the garden but he did genuinely want to learn so Apple spent many hours showing him how to tend the garden and giving him little tips.

Many a flirtatious moment occurred in that little garden behind the house.
Finally, the day came for Apple to embark on her first day at the office. Mr. Parker had made good on his offer to give Apple an internship at his firm.

It was so much more easy and fun than Apple had ever expected and she got through her tasks with flying colours.

Apple even met some new people who she was sure would become good friends in no time.
Apple stayed back a little late on that first day to show how much she appreciated everything that Mr. Parker had done for her.

When she finally got outside the office she took a moment to reflect on the day. With a sigh, Apple gave herself a mental pat on the back. She had done it, everything could only get easier from here on.

Just as Apple was about to hail a cab home, she heard a rustling in a nearby bush. when she glanced at the hedge she saw it shaking like crazy, she thought she saw someone there but decided it was probably just a bird and went to the taxi bay.
When Apple got home she told Freddy about how well everything had gone. He was so excited and happy for Apple that he wrapped her into a hug.
Apple felt tingles fly through her body and pulled away quickly, embarrassed at her feelings.

Freddy just smiled at her. 'I knew you would be fine, I can see you becoming CEO in no time at all.'

Apple blushed but thanked Freddy for his kind words then proceeded to the kitchen so she could start preparing dinner.
A few days later, Apple received a very strange letter in the mail. It was in an acid green envelope.

Curious, apple tore open the letter and read the words inside:

'I can't believe you haven't tried to find out more about your accident. Look at the book. The book MUST have some answers.'

Apple was so shocked at the words that she threw the note to the ground. Who could know about the book? She had kept it hidden away since the accident, not wanting to be reminded of the pain that she had been through.

Apple picked up the letter, tore it into shreds and threw it away.

This had to be someone's great idea of a 'joke'.
Over the next two weeks, Apple continued to receive the strange green letters, each one different, but always about the accident and the book.

Apple kept throwing them out. Things were just starting to get better for her, she felt the most normal since the accident had occurred. Who was trying to dredge up such a terrible past?

The final straw came when she was reading the Sunday paper, there in the personals was a small article written in green ink:

APPLE
Stop ignoring my letters,
You need to look at the book
You need to find out what really happened...
Apple was scared, someone must be watching her to know that she wasn't even reading the letters anymore, and that she hadn't been studying the book. Then she remembered the rustling in the bushes on that first day of work, maybe it HAD been a person.

Folding up the newspaper and heading inside, Apple searched for the mysterious book.
Thinking back, she recalled the incident:

She had been reading a book for school when she was snatched and then all of a sudden she was green and had a completely different book...

Looking closely at each page, Apple found nothing interesting about the book at all. It was simply an almanac of short stories and she didn't particularly feel like reading them all.

No, she would put the book away and focus on keeping her life on track.
A week later, Freddy announced that he had a friend, Jon, who he would like Apple to meet. He asked if it would be okay if Jon came over for dinner on Saturday night.

Apple said it was fine, she was getting used to being around people, and, although most were shocked when they first saw her, they got over it within moments and then were as nice to her as anyone else they might know.

She was looking forward to meeting Jon, Apple was really glad that Freddy was allowing her to meet his friends.
When Jon turned up on Saturday afternoon, Apple found him very pleasant. He spoke about his home and his family. He was married with three kids and lived closer to town in a grand Victorian style town house.

The meal went without a hitch, Freddy mentioned to Apple that he and Jon were thinking about going into business together.
That's when everything changed.

Apple asked Jon what line of work he was in. Jon replied that he was quite high up at the science facility, a very well paying job, and soooo interesting.

Apple felt as if she had been slapped in the face. How could Freddy do this to her!?

Apple gave Jon a dirty look. 'How dare you come into my house and BRAG about your work when I am so obviously different BECAUSE of that stupid science facility! Don't play dumb, you HAVE to know about me and my accident. You're a pig! Get out of my house!'

Jon smirked at her, as if he thought she was crazy and that he was proud of what had occurred all those years ago.
Jon left in a hurry, muttering under his breathe an Apple walked away from Freddy who was standing in the kitchen totally guilty and dumbstruck.

Apple fell to the ground and wept. Freddy came in behind her and stroked her back. 'Please Apple, I didn't even think! I am so sorry. I just...I don't even think of you as being any different, I don't think about you having had an accident. You are just perfect to me.'

Apple gazed into Freddy's eyes and flicked a tear from her cheek.

They kissed. Apple couldn't stop herself. He was just so wonderful, of course he hadn't thought about the conflict that would occur in the situation.

It felt so right to kiss Freddy, he stripped Apple down to her underwear but that was where she stopped him. 'This is too fast, Freddy, I'm sorry.'

Apple went up to bed, but stayed awake thinking of what was going on between herself and Freddy.
The next morning, one would cautch the other stealing glances at them and both would look away shyly.

They sat down to breakfast together and tried to talk about normal things to keep their minds off their growing feelings toward each other.

Apple decided to tell Freddy about the strange letters and the article in the personals.

'How queer!' Freddy replied. 'Who could it be?'

Apple shook her head and looked thoughtful for a moment. 'I have no idea, but it's really irking me.'

Freddy said that she should continue ignoring the notes and promised to be home as early as possible so that Apple wouldn't have to be around the house on her own while there was a weirdo out there spying on her.
Apple was as happy as could be. She knew that her relationship with Freddy was ready to advance to the next strange. She could tell that he genuinely cared for her, maybe even....loved her?

Apple decided to take a walk during her lunch break one day and grabbed a croissant from the bakery. As she was heading back to the office, she noticed two of her co workers sitting on a bench in the park.

Apple began to head over to say hello but stopped short when she caught what they were saying.

'...a total charity case, just because she had that accident.'
'I know! I'm only nice to her because I don't want to jeopardise my position, Parker is totally smitten with her.'
'Did you hear that she lives with Freddy Wright! I bet she is after him!'
'Pfft...as if someone like Freddy Wright would want anything to do with that freak!.'

Apple felt her eyes well up and she ran home, not even bothering to mention to Mr. Parker that she was leaving early for the day.
When Apple got home, Freddy was there, it was his day off. He was shocked to see Apple home so early and started to ask if she was okay, but she ran straight past him and up to her bedroom.

Freddy gave her a few minutes to herself before gently knocking on the door. 'Apple? Are you okay? What's happened?'

Apple looked up at Freddy as he entered the room and told him everything that she had heard. 'I thought I was getting along with everyone, I thought I was making friends!'

Freddy hugged her. 'Don't worry about it, people like that aren't worth the dirt they walk on.'

The two kissed and made sweet woohoo right there and then.

'I love you Apple Harvest.' Freddy whispered afterward.
'I love you more.' Apple said.
Freddy smiled at her reply. 'Well, I love you most.'
The next few weeks flew by, Apple was so in love and so happy, she had also confronted the women at work and asked Mr. Parker why he had really given her a position.

He said it was because he genuinely wanted to help her as much as possible, he had known her parents well and for a LONG time.

Apple was happy with the answer and life seemed to be getting better and better. She had even stopped receiving those creepy letters.

But one day, while she was watering the plants in her garden, Apple felt a presence behind her, she turned to find a man, not just any man......a GREEN man!
