But I'm glad to tell you that I'm beginning to write again :) Thanks to everyone who still follows this story! I just need to get through this chapter and then it starts getting good ;) So again, thank you so much for keeping up! Comments and ratings appreciated! Oh, and a special thanks to the creative creators for their beautiful creations! I appreciate your hard work- but I'll stop babbling, read on :)

*** We left of with the sad news that Evie's mother had died, and that her aunt cannot have kids, and that Hope plans to take her niece someone...but where?
I lay in a deep sleep in a world of peace, love, happiness, and uttermost perfection. There was no disease, there was no sadness, there was no mourning, no poverty, no war, and there was no death. Everyone was happy and no one had any problems. It was the perfect world...I only wished that our world was that way. My dreams of perfection were interrupted when my aunt called my name. I sat upward on my mother's bed and rubbed my eyes. It was always disappointing to wake up after having a great dream, but this time, I felt especially disappointed. I threw on yesterday's clothes and went to greet my aunt who had brought me waffles.
She looked radiant as usual, "Hi sweetie. I hope you slept OK because we have a long day ahead of us!" she explained.
"You need to get ready and put on your best clothes, OK?" she continued.
I nodded my head.
"Just try and look your best," she smiled, "because it's important to make a good impression today!"
"Will do..." I said quietly.
"OK, make sure you're ready in half an hour. We're leaving soon." she finished as she left the room.
I didn't know where we were going, but I followed my aunt's orders.
With a tear stained face and a heavy heart, I made my way to my mothers dresser. Slowly, I opened the drawer. I looked through the stacks of neatly folded clothes and picked the nicest thing I found that fit. With the clothes on, I made my way to the bathroom to finish getting ready. It was weird to be all dressed up. I rarely went anywhere that required "fancy" dress, so I wondered even more about the place my aunt was taking me. I looked at the mirror in shock.
"Damn... I really need to take more looks in the mirror!" I said to myself. I splashed cold water on my face to remove all the smeared eye make up and I tied my hair up in a loose bun.
"Much better," I said, checking my teeth in the mirror. Knowing that only a toothbrush could get all the stuff off my teeth, I brushed my teeth with the spearmint toothpaste. I'd forgotten how good it felt to have a clean mouth! "Yeah, Evie, we gotta work on the personal hygiene..." my voice trailed off. I rinsed my mouth, then deciding that I was ready to go, took one last look in the mirror. It was crazy how much I looked like her. I was the splitting image of my mother, and I'd never realized it...Not until she was gone. It was too hard to hold back the tears, so I let them all out. There was so much regret weighing down my heart, I felt like it was the end of the world. "Standing in the mirror isn't going to help you.." I said between sobs. So I went outside for fresh air while I waited for my aunt. My aunt hurriedly made her way outside once she heard me open the door, so I didn't wait long. Once again, she looked beautiful. I didn't know how she did it, but she did!
"You ready to go?" she asked.
"Yup..." I replied.
"OK then," she replied, not as cheerful,"Let's go."
I was astounded to find that my aunt had brought me to City Hall. As I made my way up the long flight of stairs, I asked her what we were doing here.
"Since you no longer have a legal guardian, I was asked to bring you for a court hearing, just to see who your guardian will be. It's no big deal, sweetie, you'll be fine."
I didn't reply. I couldn't. It was hard enough to lose all of your parents, but now, to find out that they were trying to replace them? My mother wasn't the best mom, but she was still my mother. And no one could ever replace her.
As we entered the large, double doors, my aunt said, "Answer all the questions they ask truthfully and you'll be fine..."
"Good thing I brushed my teeth," I thought.
Two hours had slowly passed by, and the court hearing was over. I trudged out the City Hall building happy to know that my new guardians were my aunt and uncle. My aunt made her way over to me after leaving the building as well.
"So, you happy? Even just a little bit happier?" she asked. She tried hard not to show the excitement of having me as her "daughter", but I could clearly see it in her eyes. "I don't want you to feel like I replaced your mom or anything. I-I...I'm just really happy that you're the daughter I could never have," she smiled.
"Of course I'm happy," I reassured her. "Yes, it's a little soon, but I'm happy that I get to stay with you," I smiled. She leaned in and hugged me, tears in her eyes. "Evie, please don't ever feel that I replaced your mother, OK? Because it kills me to even think of trying to replace her." Now my eyes were tearing up as well, "I would never, Auntie..." On our way to the car, I ran into my friend Sarah. She ran and greeted us. "Evelyn! Mrs. Young! How are you guys?" she stopped, "I'm very, very sorry to hear about your loss. I know what it's like to lose someone close to you...My father passed away last year while in the army. But again, so sorry Evie..." she frowned. Once again, I lost it. Sarah engulfed me in a warm hug. "It's OK, Evie. You're going to be OK..." she cooed. I wiped my tears, "Thanks Sarah, it's great to have a friend like you," I smiled. "You know, I'd love to hang out with you this week, especially since I missed your party..."
"That would be awesome! I'm afraid I need to get home, but call me whenever," she said as she waved goodbye.
We walked towards the end of the street and said our final farewell. "Call me! Or I'll call you," she smiled. I smiled back, "OK, sounds good." I'd never had a friend like Sarah...Well I'd never actually had a friend before but I knew I was lucky to have Sarah in my life, especially during this hard time. As we arrived home, I stood to take it all in. This was my new family, this was my new house, Sunset Valley was now the city I lived in, this was my life. My aunt snapped me out of my trance, "You coming in, Evie?"
"Yeah, be right there," I replied.
Once I finished with my thoughts, I made my way inside the house. "Oh Evie, meet your uncle in the backyard please.
Confusion struck again, "OK," I replied.
"Do you know what she needs to tell us?" my uncle questioned.
"No idea," I replied, laughing.
He smiled, "I'm glad to hear that you'll be living with us, Evelyn!"
I smiled back, "Yeah..." my voice trailed of.
My aunts arrival broke the awkward silence, "Hi guys," she said.
My uncle got up worriedly, "Baby," he said, "is everything OK? You're worrying me!"
"Calm down, babe!" my aunt said.
"Guys," she continued, "I'm having a baby!"
