Fall Fashion Colors 2023 – Trends in CC

For Fall Fashion, we will look at the trends by colors!  So, I did loads of research on the top Fall Fashion Colors for 2023.  There are loads more, but these colors showed up the most.  Some colors are Colors of The Year for paint and design companies.  The research and finding the colors in CC was a bit challenging but fun at the same time!

Traditional Fall Fashion

For traditional fall fashion, one can expect long jackets, sweater dresses, and high boots.  All of these elements and more are seen in Fall Fashion for 2023.  Fall is my favorite season here in the United States!  I love long cardigans, high boots, and long vests.  You can also never go wrong with a flannel or a comfy hoodie!

2023 Fall Fashion Differences

The big difference I have seen in the 2023 Fall Fashion Colors is the presence of bright tones.  Generally, fall tones are muted or slightly desaturated, mimicking the fall leaves and styles of fall here in the United States.  However, for 2023, pastels and bright colors are inserted into the color palates.  The trend with these colors is to mix the bright and pastel colors with the neutral tones.  At first, I was skeptical about how this would work, but it works really well.

Traditional Fall 2023 Colors

For fall 2023, there are a lot of browns, reds, and greens that pop up through fashion trends.  Which is to be expected with oranges, yellows, and greens. For 2023 Fall Fashion Colors, there is definitely the presence of these colors.  Loads of red.  Bright reds are coming up in a lot of fashion as the primary front-running trend for Fall Fashion 2023, specifically for reds, red jackets, coats, and boots.

1 – Pepper Red

If you research fashion, bright reds have probably been all over your finds!  Specifically, Pepper Red.  Pepper Red is a super trendy color right now.  This color for Fall Fashion 2023 seems to be predicted as the hot color for Fall Fashion 2023!  I have seen loads of articles on fashion stating that this color will be super trendy for coats, cardigans, jackets, tops, and boots!

2 – Hot Fudge

I am not usually a brown-shade fan, but I love this look!  For the Hot Fudge color for Fall Fashion 2023, I am seeing loads of all-brown outfits with shimmery material, and I am here for it!  This might be my favorite look for this blog!

3 – Redend Point (Sherwin Williams color of the year 2023)

As for the color naming trend, I would appreciate some help understanding this.  This shade, Redend Point, is the Sherwin Williams’ color of 2023; if you did not know, Sherwin Williams is a big paint company.  The color is lovely; oddly enough, my dining room will be this color… I bought it in the clearance paint section and did not even know it was a trending color!

4 – Sage Leaf

Sage Leaf is a lovely traditional Fall Fashion Color.  This shade of green goes great with oranges, burgundies, dark purples, creams, and any brown hue.  Even by itself, the color looks absolutely lovely.

5 – Viva Magenta (Pantone’s color of the year 2023)

This Viva Magenta is a beautiful color.  I am not usually one for brighter shades, but it is lovely.  This is probably why it is Pantone’s Color of the Year 2023.  It also pairs nicely with gray and brown shades!

6 -Apricot Crush (color of 2024)

Apricot Crush is the 2024 Color of the Year for WGSN and Coloros.  Yes, there is a different color of the year per company.  However, Colors of the Year are often similar to others or like this one the same.  Apricot Crush is definitely a typical fall color because it is a shade of orange and desaturated.  So, to me, I really expected it to be trending now.

7 – Clay

Clay is a perfect shade to add to your Fall Fashion Colors, as it can stand alone or be used as a filler color in your fall looks.  I love this neutral tone; it seems excellent on shiny or flat materials like cotton or linen.

8 – Coconut Milk

Coconut Milk is a lovely filler shade for this Fall Fashion 2023 Palette.  It matches up nicely with almost every other color here and looks great solo!

9 –  Olive Oil

Olive Oil is a fine choice for earthy tones with a bit more color.  Like many others, this color can be seen in trends solo and paired with the others.  I chose to use it for a more formal look and love it!

10 – Honey Comb Yellow

Could you hear me out on this Honey Comb Yellow? I am not a fan of yellow usually.  But this color paired with Clay, Coconut Milk, or Hot Fudge is fantastic!  Even solo, this hue looks terrific on that pantsuit!

Not Typical Fall 2023 Colors

When I started researching Fall Fashion Colors for 2023, I needed clarification, as there were a lot of pastels and other colors I would not classify as ‘fall colors.’  However, mixing the palette and using different colors with the not-so-typical fall colors works.

1 – Digital Lavender

Digital Lavender is a new Fall Fashion Color for me.  I have seen this color and variants of it in numerous color palettes for fall 2023.  At first, I was confused, but if you put it with grays, browns, creams, or tan shades, it looks pretty nice.

2 -Powder Pink

Pink in Fall Fashion is something other than traditional for fall.  But with the rage of Barbiecore, it is to be expected.

3 – Glacial Blue

Glacial Blue is much like Digital Lavender, where I was like, what is going on? Did I miss something?  But it works well paired with neutral colors.

4 – Galactic Cobalt

I would see this next color more as a Winter Color and imagine it will also be a Winter Fashion Color.  Galactic Cobalt fits the traditional desaturated colors. However, it is a blue variant.  So I was a bit confused as Fall Fashion Colors are usually warmer, and Winter Fashion Colors are cooler tones.

5 –  Carnival Glass

I really like this color.  This and the Apricot Crush are lovely colors!  And this dress just happened to have a dark green sweater, so it fit so well I was like, I AM USING THIS!!!

Summary

I had a lot of fun with this blog!  When I first researched Fall Fashion Colors 2023 colors, I thought the colors were a bit random.  But now, looking at everything together, it works out quite nicely.  I am pleasantly surprised, as I thought it would look super random.  But it seems like a very lovely Fall Fashion Lookbook.
