TSR staff have been working hard to fix the problems caused by the Pets EP and the 1.26 game patch (1.27 for Mac) released by EA. To enable Pets animations, EA have changed the way many objects work. Without boring you with the technical details the result was that most CC fails to work in the game after applying the patch or Pets EP.

Workshop is now fixed and exports objects which work with Pets and the patch. We will run a batch process to fix all of our existing content "server side" which we hope to start on Friday. While this process is running we may suspend Sims 3 downloads so that users don't get a mix of patched and unpatched files. This process will take an estimated 10 hours.

The new tool, TSR Pets CC Bug Fixer (TSR RigFix) is now tested, documented and ready for you to use to fix your Sims 3 Custom Content after installing Pets or patching the game. Go to the Fix Your Game page to get the tool and follow the simple instructions. By including step by step screenshots we seem to have made the process look more complicated than it really is but this should make even the most nervous PC users feel comfortable fixing their content. That said, be sure to back your game files up and use this tool carefuly (and at your own risk).

Unfortunately this tool will not work for Mac users. Fixed sims3packs can be downloaded from the site and these will work on your Mac. You could also copy your Sims3pack files to a PC and fix them all in one batch to drop back onto your Mac, so there are ways to fix your game, but not as quick and easy I'm afraid.

We will try and offer as much support as we can for this tool to our users via the Support System here at the site. Please be aware though, we might get lots of requests and reports about a common bug so generic answers and fixes might mean that you don't get a personal reply. Please check back for updates if you have problems.

I'm seeing a lot of questions but no one seems to be posting with answers, which concerns me, as there isn't much point in asking if there's no chance of an answer!

I downloaded Grant Hess' fix and used his granny2 but, since I didn't get that 2nd screen saying it was installed AND the program wouldn't load my .dbc file, I assumed there was a problem and spent the next few days downloading tons of granny2.dll files and a bunch of executables until I decided to try Grant Hess' fix to check the granny file. It worked with the .dbc file so I then knew the granny2.dll was fine. You need to change this in the tutorial because no one should be downloading and installing all the crap I did.

So...the .dbc didn't download (used Grant's) and the DCBackup said that most of the files were unusable and fixed about 10, which I had to manually check the box. I checked with s3PE and those files won't open with it (in either this file or the saved file so not a RigFix issue.)

I then went into my Mods file and selected a folder with about 350 package files in it. It seems like they all are listed but only about 30% (guessing) have a checkmark beside them. My question on this is, am I supposed to go through and select the items with no checkmark or is the lack of checkmark and indication that the file doesn't need to be run through RigRix?

I got S3 Pets when it came out but, as I've started doing since LN, I hold the EP for a few months to let the bugs get worked out. About that time I started having some issues with the memory on my computer and the hard drive crashed (which I can't seem to get working again) and I'd not saved most of my downloads. I got another HD and have been downloading every since, trying to get myself back to where I was (in essence). So, many of my downloads are newer and therefore fixed; however, I know there is plenty that isn't, as I've had to manually fix some beds. Anyway, this is an explanation as to why I'm late to the party.

So, it would be greatly appreciated if someone could get back to me on whether or not I need to select the files that aren't automatically selected...? I've got a lot to do! (Grant's fix is a 1-at-a-time thing which just isn't feasible...

The dc cache and dc backup files won't even show up in the thing. Only sims 3 packs.

I have done all the described instructions just as they put it and it simply does not work. I have tried taking the item and taking it through rigfix individually also, and it also just says it patched 0 of 0 items. The item does not show up in my game whatsoever. What am I doing wrong?????
