Love. A simple word to pronounce, but a difficult word to provide. After all what is love? A myth told in fairytales? Who can experience love? Who is meant to love? Why must there be love? Many questions follow this common word that will never be answered. In life, you are told that there is a one special person to love-soul mate. Though, we are promised such a powerful thing as truth. When actually, for many, is really a lie?

The clock has struck 11 in the morning. Catherine, a vibrant bride is glossing the last beauty touches to herself in the grand mirror. After all, a bride wants to promote the utmost vanity of herself to those around her; including the man standing beneath the anticipated arch.

The valiant female is anxious for the coming commitment. Waiting downstairs in the garden is something she has only dreamt about since childhood. A marriage scene, decorated with spring colors dancing in the crisp sunlight. The white chairs coated in silk paint-the scattered pink roses on the trail. The cream sensation of valentine wonders floating upon the wedding arch.
The man, standing beneath, with his fine black tux and dark fixated hair- complimented by the guests.

Catherine, returning to her task, finishes her perfection and gazes at the reflection of the painted bride, with only minutes until she embraces her loving fiancé` as her husband for the first time.

Finalizing her fantasy, her father, Nicholas, gasps at his daughter’s astounding appearance. His child, now grown woman, will join another man in matrimony under his blessing. He too, dressed in his groomed tux feels sorrow for his deceased wife Isabella, whom is not able to witness the joyous occasion. Catherine walks down the rose petal trail to her beloved fiancé`, only running one word through her mind, Love. He looks dashing in the creamy sunlight complimented by a swirling breeze that flickers his fallen black bangs. The guests sit with honor watching the white frosted bride float to her groom -whom swims in an ocean of fright watching his bride come to his kin.
The only word flowing in his mind is regret. Will I regret this very proposal? Will this marriage ruin my life? The questions are screaming in his conscience as she reaches the glistening alter.

Catherine gazes into her lover’s brown eyes and looks for the happiness and love, when all she can see is his coldness. Where is Love? Nicholas stands in confusion at the incompatible scene as he instructs the words of matrimony. “Do you Catherine take John as your beloved husband? To care for him when he is sick and in health-To cherish him as yours?
“I do. Answers Catherine.
“Do you John, take Catherine as your beloved wife- to care for her when she is in sick and in health. To cherish her for as long as you both shall live?

“…”
John pauses, looking nervous and callus towards Catherine-seeing only mutiny in his proposed future with her. John could only think of all the sorrow and pain the marriage would bring if he were to say the two last words binding him to her for the rest of his life.

Catherine, standing there in her silhouetted divinity looks confused and solemnly at her supposedly beloved fiancé. She wanted to hear the two last binding words. The words of which that prove the love of hers and John’s are final. So she could kiss her husband and follow through with the planned day. Sweat is streaming down her side cheek-eyes swelling and ready to burst. Her hands are cold and clammy. Nervous and anxious for the answer that would foretell her future and descendant relative’s destiny forever.
“I…..”

".....If only...he-"
