His conversation with the man in the park left Sam shaken. As he walked the street towards his car, he knew one thing. He needed Elle. And if she wasn't going to answer him, he'd just have to go to her. Kyle was watching television when he heard it. A knock at the door.
Hesitantly he stood, wondering who on earth would be visiting Elle? He approached the door and a thin man with messy black hair stared at him through the glass. Instantly, Kyle recognised his face.
It was Samuel Wilson. The weatherman.
Samuel Wilson, the man that tried to take his girl.
"Can I help you?" Kyle growled stepping through the glass, without needing to open the door.
Sam stared. "I-I'm here t-to see Elle," he stammered. Clearly shaken.
Kyle sighed. "I'm afraid Elanor is ill," he said, hoping the fool would understand the not-so subtle hint.
Sam shook his head. He seemed to have regained his confidence after his initial fear of seeing a ghost. "She's not sick," he said, getting angry now. "You're keeping her from me...." It suddenly dawned on him. "You're the reason she said no!"
Kyle burst out laughing. He slapped his knees and looked up at Sam with a malicious grin.
"I didn't do anything," he said, still laughing. "You stole my wife!"
Sam shook his head again. "You're wrong," he said. "And you're dead."
Kyle stopped laughing. He glared at Sam. "Oh yeah?" he asked.
Sam nodded.
All of a sudden the ground beneath him began to shake violently, and Sam flung out his hand s for balance.
"Whoa," he called, trying to stay on his feet.
Kyle began laughing again and the shaking began to fade. "I'm not dead," he snarled.
Sam's anger boiled inside him. He could felt it burning in his veins. "Fool!" he shouted. "How can Elle love you as she loves me, when you have no flesh?"
Kyle snickered. "Does she love you?" he asked.
Sam nodded, clenching his fists now.
Kyle raised a hand to scratch his chin. "Hmmm," he groaned. "Then why did she say no?"
Kyle's words had stung, but Sam knew he couldn't give it to this monster.
"You don't deserve her," he said, glaring in return.
Kyle glared. "How dare you..."
"No," Sam smiled. "I know what happened. I know what happened the day you died. A fight.... of all things."
Kyle was silent. He missed his real life, and the memories hurt him deeply.
"You don't know what you're talking about," Kyle said, waving him away. "Just go," he yelled. "Go! Leave my wife alone!"
Sam stood perfectly still. "She's not your wife," Sam said flatly.
Kyle nodded. "Oh, yes she is," he snarled. "And you can't take her!"
"Yes I can," Sam said.
Kyle shook his head, but Sam kept speaking.
"On your wedding day you made her a promise. You promised to love her and care for her 'til death do you part..."
Kyle stared. He was silent as Sam's words hit home.
"Why don't we settle this the old fashioned way?" He said. "Tomorrow night... Meet me at the beach."
Elanor heard the noise from her upstairs bedroom. She was sitting on her bed with a grey jumper draped over her shoulders. She'd pushed her hair into a messy pony-tail and had been crying silently for the last twenty minutes.
But hearing the fighting made her stop. SHe recognised the voices. One was Kyle, that was obvious. BUt the other was one she'd heard often before on the T.V news.
It was Sam.
She pushed her arms through the sleeves on her jumper and raced downstairs.
She paused on teh bottom of the step. Kyle was making dramatic hand gestures, and she could tell the conversation wasn't going well. Kyle turned around to walk inside and she ducked behind the stairs. Sitting in a lounge chair and pretending to snooze, she listened to Kyles inaudible mumbles.
Sam had come.... what would happen now?

Amazing! I read the whole story now. I don't think Kyle changed at all, he was like that ever since he was human. But Elle didn't see it. A really good one. Can't wait for the next part.
