Author's Note: Hopefully this is out before Christmas...if it is, then Merry Christmas! Enjoy! And read part 10 if you haven't yet or you won't get it. :) I woke up in a bright hospital room and I rubbed my eyes. I looked over and saw some flowers and a bear. I was so confused... "Penny! I was so worried. You had a terrible asthma attack. You were checking some text messages because I found your phone lying next to you after you passed out. I'm glad you're okay!" Oh. my. gosh! So I didn't go to Patty's! It was all a terrible dream I had when I passed out. Oh, I need to call Brian! Sadly, I didn't have my phone..."Come on Penny, let's go home." Dad said. After checking out of the hospital, I was surprised to find the most beautiful sight; it was snowing! And perfect timing, too. It's almost Christmas! I was also shocked to see mom standing by the front gate. "Penny! Come here honey!" She opened her arms wide. I ran over to her and gave her a big hug. I had missed her so much. "I heard about you passing out! My poor baby." She hugged me again. I rolled my eyes, but smiling. I told her all about what had happened in my life since her and, broke up. She listened carefully. "Wow, I have really missed quite a bit." She said, and I felt kind of bad. She has missed a lot. "Well, not really." I lied. Mom smiled, "Why don't you go grab some warm clothes and we'll have some fun with snow?" I plopped into the snow and made a snow angel. I closed my eyes and just laid in the snow. I took a deep breath, letting snow flakes land on my face. Me and dad took over building the snowman when mom got too cold and went inside. I think we did pretty good! Mom came back out and told both of us she made hot chocolate. I rubbed my hands together, just thinking of being in front of a warm fire, sipping hot cocoa. Mom and dad went inside the house and I plopped back down into the snow. I thought about the dream I had, and I felt so relieved. I love that feeling of relief after you wake up from a terrible nightmare, and reality sets in. I would never go with Patty. Brian! I need to go see Brian. "Want some hot chocolate?" Mom asked. "Um, maybe later, I have to go somewhere?" Mom shrugged. I quickly warmed myself in front of the fire and grabbed my coat. I knocked on Brian's door. No answer the second or third time, so I jiggled the knob. It opened, so I walked in and took off my coat. I looked around the place and held my nose. Ew, its looks like this place hasn't been cleaned in a while, I thought, noticing all the dust and dirty dishes. I climbed the ladder up to Brian's room. It was covered in snow! Oh my gosh! What happened here...? Still noticing all the snow around his room, I heard a voice. "Penny!" I jumped. "Oh my gosh! Brian, you scared me...what is with your room?" I asked. I gave him a hug. "I'll explain, Penny. I wanted to talk to you. I sent you a text yesterday, but your dad replied and said you were in the hospital." "So, about my mom and your dad..." I started, "Is this going to be weird for us?" Brian shook his head. "Of course not. They aren't married, so maybe they'll break up. You know, your mom might even get back together with your dad." Brian said, looking down at the floor. "Brian, what happened to your mom?" I asked softly. He put his arm around me. "Um," he said. "Brian, it's okay." I told him. "Oh no, it's fine. She, uh, died a few years ago." My heart dropped. "Oh. Brian I'm so sorry...what did she die from?" I asked him, and then felt stupid. I was curious, but it was not a good thing to ask. "Cancer," Brian told me, "She had it for about six months, and dad spent all his money to pay the medical bills. We sold pretty much everything we had, including the roof." I felt terrible for asking. I held his hand. "I don't know what to say Brian. I feel terrible. You're so perfect, and it just isn't fair how all this horrible stuff happened to you." I said. "Well, I have you. You're the best thing in my life." Brian smiled, and we sat there together for a few minutes in silence. "Penny?" Brian said. "Yeah?" I answered. There was a long pause. "I love you." I was about to answer, but dad walked right in. I jumped onto the floor. "Oh, um hi dad." I said. "Penny, we gotta go. Sorry Brian." he said. "Oh, it's okay." Brian said. Dad grabbed some leftover hot cocoa and handed me a mug. We sat down at the table. "So, why did you come and get me?" I asked dad. "Penny, I need to tell you something. While you were at Brian's house, your mother told me something. She wants to get an official divorce with me." I spit out all my hot cocoa back into the mug and set it down. "What?" I asked. "It's true. She wants to marry..." Dad winced, "That guy." He finished. "I can't believe this...I have to go back to Brian's." I called Brian and told him I would be coming over in two hours and ran upstairs to my room. I played with my hair and pulled it into a loose bun, letting hair hang out. I sprayed it with shiny stuff, and then I changed into my favorite green dress. I turned the knob to Brian's house and was shocked when I laid eyes on him. "Oh my gosh! Brian!"

I know it was supposed to be sad, but they sold thier roof!! Not to sound arrogant, but if they were going to get thier house partially demolished, shouldn't they have just moved to a smaller place to save the cash? \:wacko\:But don't worrry; I've been reading your stories right from the beginning, and think they're great!
