Cole and Sonia never talked about that night again.
The summer was ending and so was there time in Bella, France. They decided to spend their final night together camping. Cole decided to teach Anna his best fishing style.
Cole: I always catch the best and biggest fish with my hook, line, and sinker method.

The summer was ending and so was there time in Bella, France. They decided to spend their final night together camping. Cole decided to teach Anna his best fishing style.
Cole: I always catch the best and biggest fish with my hook, line, and sinker method.
Anna was able to catch on really quick and caught more than Cole.
Anna: Like this daddy?
Cole: Yeah..uh....just like that. Man you are good!
She smiled triumphantly.
Later that night, the family sat at the fire pit and enjoyed their catch from earlier that day.
Cole: I have to say I have not went camping ever in my life. Our way of camping was sitting in the backyard and telling ghost stories. I'm so glad you were here to make the fire.
Sonia: Those years in the girl scouts paid off.
Cole: Well it's not that hard I to cook the food.
Just then his vegetables caught on fire. He waved them frantically in the air. The three had a good laugh after it was under control.
Anna: You're so funny daddy.
Cole: Yeah. I meant to do that.
When dinner was over they sat around the fire and listened as Cole told the stories he was told as a little boy.
The sky was getting darker and it was getting late.
Sonia: Time for bed little one.
They began to close up their belonging to get ready for bed.
Still thinking about the night they spent together, Sonia would glance over at Cole.
Cole would also share the side glances at her. Hoping she would say something to him about how she felt. But he was certain the feelings between them were not mutual.
She wanted to believe that nothing happened between them. But deep down, she wish it had. It was their last night together and although she knew that everything she did this summer was to help her daughter be with her father, she wanted the same thing as well. It was quiet in the tent that night. Neither of them said anything to each other. By the afternoon it was time for Sonia and Anna to leave.
Cole: Now remember to write me ever Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and I will write you on the other days.
Anna: I will daddy.
Cole: And remember to mind your teachers this year and stay on the honor roll.
Anna: I will daddy.
Cole: Are you ready?
Anna: Yep!
The two of them did their special handshake together that made Sonia laugh.
Anna grew sad. This had been an eventful summer for the 7 year old. Just when she was getting closer to her father, she had to leave.
Cole: Hey now. Don't be sad. I will be visiting you in a month. I have to get back home to Connecticut and handle some things and soon I will be back before you know it.
Anna: Promise?
Cole: Pinky Promise.
They hugged for what seemed like an hour. It was hard for him to let her go. And she him.
He walked them both to the door where the driver was there to take them to the airport. He couldn't bare to take them to the airport and so decided to stay behind.
The days spent in the house was quiet. He looked around the house and it seemed more empty than before they had arrived. He walked to the chess table where they played often on the rainy days.
He thought about her smile and the way she laughed. And how much he longed to hear her call him daddy again. His walked in the town and remembered the times he had with Anna and Sonia.
Cole: What am I doing here?
Back in the states, Sonia was fast asleep in her bed. She had just came home a few hours ago and had placed Anna to bed. Just as she was getting deep into sleep, there was a knock on the door. She woke up slightly but tried to ignore the sound. Then she heard it again. This time, it was harder and longer.
She woke up and looked over to the clock. The knocking continued again.
Sonia: Who is it?
Cole: Sonia it's me, Cole.
Sonia: Cole? It's late what are you doing here?
Cole: I know I said I would come in a month but I had to come. I had to see you.
She began to open the door.
Sonia: What?
Cole: I had to see you. I lied. Something did happen between us that night.
She moved her hand away from the door.
Sonia: What are you talking about.
Cole: Something did happen that night.
Cole: I fell in love with you Sonia. That night, we made love. Or I thought we made love. But the next day, you didn't want it to happen, you wanted to forget about it. But I didn't. I wanted to tell you that I want us to be together.
Sonia: Cole.
Cole: I know, I know. But I can't help it. Spending time with you and Anna these past months made me think. It made me think alot about what I want out of my life. I spent years building my career, doing what was best for my company. But I never stopped to do what was good for me. Sonia: Cole, you had your chance.
Cole: I know, and I didn't know it. I was so afraid of what was going to happen when I followed my heart. But I love you Sonia. I love you and I love Anna. And I want us to be a family.
Cole: You were the best thing that happened to me. And you gave me the greatest gift ever. Anna came from the both of us. And I want us. Please tell me we can. I lost you once and I'm not trying to lose you again. There was a long silence from the other end of the door. Cole stood there more and placed his head to the door. Nothing.
He slowly walked away.
Just as he was getting ready to walk down the hall, the door opened. He turned around to see Sonia standing there.
Sonia: Did you mean everything you said?
Cole: I do. I love you Sonia.
Sonia: I love you too Cole. All this time, I was trying to lie to myself. But it isn't right. I can't go on like this.
They kissed each other over and over.
Cole walked in the door and Anna was walking sleepily out of her room.
Anna: Mommy? What is going on?
Cole: Anna.
She was about to go back to her room when she rubbed her eyes more.
Anna: Daddy?
Cole: It's me baby.
Anna: DADDY!!!
She ran to his arms.
Cole: I'm here to take you home with me.
Anna: What about mommy?
Cole: I'm taking you both with me.
By the end of the week, Sonia had packed all their things. Anna took one last look at Bridge View
Anna: Goodbye town!
They got into their car and set off on a new story.
