Chapter Nine.

Chapter Nine.

[S] Who are you?

[B] Why did we come here?

[A] Where's George?
[N] I am the elder who has been assigned to you lovely ladies, I worked with ladies very similar to you many years ago. I am to assist you with your mission as I had with the others. Your mission is to-

[B] Defeat the darkness.

[A] The most powerful demon of them all.

[N] So you have been informed?

[S] Yea, George already explained it to us. The only thing he didn't explain were who the elders are.

[N] My dear, who is George?

[E] I think the real question right now, is who are you?

[N] So much to go through. So little time. Let's sit shall we.
[N] Elders are sources of knowledge that take human form when assigned to magic sources here on Earth. We are not allowed to return until we have finished our assignment.

[E] So you can't leave until we defeat the darkness.

[N] Or until she defeats you.

[A] Wow, thanks for the uplifting spirit.

[N] For centuries upon centuries Elders have been given the task to help their sources defeat Lipsa DeLumina and for centuries upon centuries Elders come back without success. So much defeat only leads up to assume the worst.
[A] If no one expects us to succeed, why even ask us to try?

[N] Your ancestors were the closest ones to defeating the darkness. They were the most powerful sources to ever try. And for the first time we were able to trace down all four sources of the same bloodline. We have faith that this may be the last time an elder is sent to help with Lipsa however we still assume the worst so that the disappointment is not as severe if you are to fail...But that is all we have time to discuss for now. I must get you all ready for the ball.

[B] Ball?

[N] Yes, there is a welcoming ball tonight for you four. Belle I shall work with you first. Follow me.
[B] Whoa! How did you do that? I didn't even move. And it took like a second! Getting ready is never that quick.

[N] Belle you've been here for like 3 hours and I'd say you've moved quite a bit.

[B] What? No, I just blinked and now-
Belle caught a smirk on Natalias face as she turned her head.
[B] You can't play with me like that. Not cool, not cool.

Trying to maintain her serious pose,
[N] Please wait downstairs while I get the others ready.
-At the Ball-

[B] You clean up nice.

[D] Belle!
[D] I didn't think I would like anybody here.

[B] You didn't know I was coming?

[D] Just a few days ago you didn't even know where you were so of course I didn't expect you to come to the welcoming ball. I didn't even expect you to know there was a welcoming ball. Actually, how did you hear about it?

[B] Oh.. uhm, word spreads real easily here. I just heard a lot of people chattering about it and I can't ever pass up a party.
[G] Excuse me, miss? [G] I must know the name that goes along with that beautiful face.

[S] Well aren't you a little charmer, but I must let you know that I have a hus- *cough cough cough.

[G] A cold?

[S] No! I uhm, I had something in my throat sorry.

[G] So what is it you wanted to let me know you had?

[S] Oh its nothing. I'm Sandra.

[G] And I am Greg, what a pleasure to meet you.
[E] Natalia, you look gorgeous!

[N] Well ya know, after several hundreds of years you learn how to fix yourself up right.

[E] And others too I guess, you made all of us look so great tonight. But are you sure this ball is for us. No one is even acting like they knew who we are.
[N] Well dear thats because no one knows who you are yet. All anyone knows is that the descendants of the great four are here and everyone expects you to save them. They have no clue what you look like yet. Not until I introduce you at least.

[E] And when will that be?

[N] Later this evening, I thought I would let you all mingle without being overwhelmed with attention. Because trust me, once I introduce you to the town, you'll become more populated with people than celebrities around here get.
[A] Hey Belle I just heard Natalia talking to Ella and let's just say we are going to want to get out of here kind of soonish.

[B] Why?

[A] Uhm, I can explain later when we aren't surrounded by people.

[D] If you guys want to get out of here, I've got a place we can go.

[B] That would be great, you mind if our friends come alone too?

[D] More the merrier.
[S] Thank you SO much for stopping by the house first to grab clothes.

[D] No problem, you can change in the back room.
[B] So what is this place?

[D] Just a nice little hangout in the middle of nowhere. I also live right upstairs.

[B] Ooh, so this is your home?

[D] Kind of, I know the guy who owns this place. So when I moved out of my house and needed a place to go he lent me a hand. It was supposed to be temporary but I've come to really like it here so as long as I pay my rent, the guy doesn't mind.
[G] So where are you lovely ladies from?

[S] Hah, not here. [A] Yeah, same. Nowhere near here. Hey, who wants drinks?

..And so the night began..
♫♪♫♪♪♫♪♪ ♫♪♫♪♪♫♪♪ ♫♪♫♪♪♫♪♪ ♫♪♫♪♪♫♪♪ ♫♪♫♪♪♫♪♪ ♫♪♫♪♪♫♪♪ ♫♪♫♪♪♫♪♪ ♫♪♫♪♪♫♪♪ ♫♪♫♪♪♫♪♪ By the time morning rolled around, the boys were scattered among the house passed out. Empty cups covered the counters. The TV played repeats of the children's show, Who Spooked The Bunny. And the girls were no where in sight. ♫♪♫♪♪♫♪♪

"Who is this George?"  This doesn't bode well at all--especially since George was the one who originally told them why they'd been brought to this town to begin with! \:eek\:  These girls better learn to fight and soon!

\:o Oops. Cutting out on the "coming out" party for the belles of the ball may not have been a great idea. It looks like they had a good time on their own, anyway. I hope their time wasn't wasted.....  I'm all caught up now, and caught up in your story as well. Looking forward to the next chapter! \:D
