OH! But i strongly suggest that if you haven't read the first chapter to read that first. Because you might not get this if you haven't read chapter one!!! OTher than that enjoy!!

Also, I am still writing High School LOve but m taking a break from it. Love you guys so much!:)
Just getting back from work, I pulled some bread out of the fridge and slathered some jelly on it. Since that dream my heart had been hurting.

And I couldn't stop thinking about the picture. Did I have a stalker? Was someone warning me about something? That picture had been taken by someone in my past, and I know because that picture had beeen taken in high school.
The only question that I had was why. Why would someone have a picture of me and leave it on the lawn? It was weird. :"Oh Jake, I wish you were here."I whispered.

I flicked on the light in my room and it stared at the pink and yellow bracelet peeking out from behind a plant on my dresser. I flinched. I would never forget the story that went along with that bracelet. Brought me back to high school.

I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to keep the memory away. But it came anyways...
I remember how happy I was that day...

I was a beautiful, popular girl with good grades and lots of friends. My boyfriend, Liam, was hot; the kind of hot that made other girls drool and stare with envy. I would always chuckle a little to myself whenever I saw them staring. As if they would ever get a chance at this guy.

I swore to all my friends that he was 'the one'. He came around the corner that day and kissed me. "Hey, baby." He whispered in my ear.
I giggled. He was so cute. "So are we hanging out today?" I asked evenly. He looked at me with a guilty stare.

"Uh. No I can't I got too much homework. But I'll text you." He shook his iPhone in his hand then slipped it back in his pocket. My smile drooped.

"Oh. Okay." We hadn't been hanging out as much lately.

"Gotta go." He kissed my forehead and ran to a huge red suburban parked on the curb.
I smiled half-heartedly. "Bye, Elaina." I twittered as I walked towards my black mid-sized car. She yelled bye back and gave me a three-fingered wave. I slipped into my car and jammed the key in the ignition.

Driving home, I remember calling Jake. At the time, he was just one of my best friends. I never realized it but I loved him even when we weren't dating. Like a friend. He was always there for me. Even when my boyfriend wasn't.

"Hey, Jake?" I said into the phone. "Let's meet at our usual spot." We would always hang out in this little clearing in the forest. I know it was weird, but it was special. The first time I was there, he found me sitting there crying. That was the time my mom died. A tear sprung from my eye. I missed her so much.
"Yeah, I'll meet you there at..." HE stopped for a moment. "6ish?" I looked at the clock. It said four.

"Perfect, bye." I tapped on the screen of my iPhone and threw it onto the the passengers seat.

As I drove, I started feeling bad for Liam. He was at home all alone just doing his homework. I should go see him, I thought to myself. I swerved the car around and started towards his house.
I walked up to his door knocked. He answered. His hair was messy, he had his PJ's on and was that...lipstick on his face? Lipsick??? Maybe it was his mom's?

"Hi babe." I stepped into the house. "I just wanted to come by and say hi. I know it sucks to have so much homework." I kissed him on the cheek. He tensed. I looked at him. "What's wrong."

"Um, Leilani, now's not a good time." He rubbed the back of his head.

"Why isn't now a good time? I won't stay long, I just wanted to say..." I stared at the doorway to the kitchen. I blinked over and over, trying to make myself believe it was just imagnary...but it wasn't. "Liam, who's that?" I asked calmly.
A ballerina framed girl with red hair and green eyes stood in the doorway. Her arms dangled by her sides. Her shorts were dark blue and her pink tank top had a strap that fell. SHe pulled it back up and looked at me straight in the eyes.

She turned towards Liam, whose back was turned."Yeah, Liam. Who am I?" You could hear the anger in her voice. He winced hen he heard her.

Liam turned around and stared. Color drained from his face. His mouth dropped open and a small whimper escaped from his mouth. "I-I" He stuttered nervously.
"Were you on cheating me?" I squeaked. The girl looked at me sharply.

"Who are you?" Her eyes narrowed.

"I'm his girlfriend. We've been together since last year." A lump formed in my throat. What was going on?!?! Did he really cheat on me? My question was answered quickly.

"Wow, Liam, just wow." She said loudly, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "I can't believe you. You told me that--You know what? Forget it. You're not even worth it. You're a pig."

An awkward silence filled the room for a second then she spoke again. "How can you even live with yourself?! I'm out of here. Have a nice life." She went into the other room, grabbed her purse and stormed out of the door, leaving me and Liam alone.
An awkward moment passed. I had no idea what to say. I was dumbstruck. All these emotions welled up inside me.

"Look, Leilani I-" I put my hand up and he stopped.

"Why?" I asked. He looked at me as if I had spoken Arabic.

"What?" He looked stupid all confused.

"Why? Why did you do this to me? Was I not good enough? Did I do something wrong?"My voice cracked. Tears bubbled up in my eyes. I knew they were going to run down my cheeks any second.

"No, Leilani please I was just-"

"You were just what? You were just playing around? Seeing what you could get away with? I don't understand. Why? I thought we were happy together! You told me I was the one and that you loved me." I sputtered as tears began rolling down my cheeks. "Why did you hurt me like this? I mean, maybe if you didn't like me anymore you could have just told me but this? Really?"

"No Leilani I still love you! Please let me explain."

"No. No, you don't. If you really loved me you never would have cheated on me. I have to go." I wiped my eyes with my arm and marched out of the door.
I ran across the lawn and fell into my car. I sat there and just...cried. I cried for a long time. He didn't even come out there to see me leave. I guess he really didn't care.

I calmed down a little and stuffed my key into the ignition and gunned out of there. I had to get to the spot. The spot in the forest.
I plopped down on the soft, green grass. I felt sick to my stomach. My ears were ringing. My heart was broken. My head was spinning. I felt sad, angry, heartbreak. Suddenly a hand touched my shoulder.

"Hey..." Jake said in his perfect tender yet masculine voice. "You, uh, you okay?"

I looked up. He was so sweet. He never pressured me or told me I was stupid. I was never anything less than perfect to him; even though when I would look in the mirror, all I saw were flaws. I tried to be strong. "Y-yeah." I stuttered. My voice was thick and my eyes were red and wet.

He stared at me knowingly. It was impossible to lie to him. He knew me too well. Plus, I was a mess. "What happened?" He sat down next to me and threw his arm around me. His arm was warm and comforting. I relaxed a little.
The whole story spilled out. HE listened through the whole thing and barely even breathed. He was such a good listener, even when I talked about stuff like shoes.

I finished and he hugged me close. He smelled like laundry detergent and grass. It was a nice change from when I used to hug Liam. He was always doused with some kind of cologne. It always made me gag a little. The stars started to peek between the tree branches as he turned my chin up to his face. "I would hate to be him right now." He said softly.

"Why?" His eyes were so blue and his skin was so soft and inviting. His lips were pink and kissable. I guess I never realized how handsome he was.

"Because he lost a wonderful, sweet, beautiful girl like you today." He smiled and nerves snapped and danced beneath my skin.

"You're really sweet." I said quietly. "I don't deserve a friend like you."
He stood and I follwed. He chuckled. "You're right, You don't deserve me. I'm just so awesome." He winked.

I giggled. "Oh really? Well then I take it back." I smiled.

"You can't take it back!" He joked.

"Well I just did!" He laughed and I joined in. He was always making me feel better when I was sad. We stood.

He got serious. "Leilani?" He asked nervously.I turned to face him.

"Yeah?" He leaned down and pressed his lips against mine. He tasted like apple cider and his lips were soft. At first I was caught off guard. He was my friend. I didn't like him like that. But maybe I did. Maybe I did like him. Maybe I even loved him. I kissed back and we stayed that way for a long time. It was a perfect moment. All those times I was with him, I never realized how I actually felt about him.

Suddenly, he pulled away. "Here" he said as he slipped a bracelet on my wrist. "I will always be there for you. This is my promise." I smiled. Then I nodded my head and kissed him again......
"Leilani!" Someone called from downstairs, snapping me out of my flashback. It was my sister.

But I missed that day so much. After he kissed me, the hurt Liam caused me just washed away. But now, four years after Jake left me and I still couldn't get over it. That's how I knew I was in love with him. Still.

My sister called again. "Just a sec!" I yelled. I opened the door and scurried downstairs.
My sister stared at me wide-eyed. Something was wrong. I could feel it.

"There's someone at the door for you." She looked pale. And nervous.

"Is everything okay?" I was getting worried.

"Yeah, yeah. Everything is great. Get the door okay?" She padded out of the room.

O-kay.... Weirdo. I hustled over to the door.
I turned the knob and flung open the door. "Hi, I'm Leilani. You wanted to-" I stopped. I stared at the person standing in front of me. I blinked a couple of times. My vision narrowed and I got dizzy. I could barely focus my eyes. "Oh my gosh..." I whispered. My hands got sweaty. It wasn't that I didn't know this person. Oh no. I knew him all too well. I whimpered. I was so nervous and caught off guard.

Because the person standing in the doorway...was Jake. Thanks for reading! I hope you liked it!

Remember I'm still writing HIgh School Love so I hope you'll check it out! Sorry these stories have been so spacey, school has been crazy!
