The story of Pleasantview continues. There will be love and heartbreak, betrayal and intrigue; but the residents of Pleasantview will have to live on, unless of course, they don't. Benjamin New and Amanda Guapo met their very first day at university. They were just friends for the first few semesters. They dated around for a few more, and then they became best friends. Ben started to like Amanda, but it took a few more semesters for her to feel the same way. On graduation day Ben proposed to her. It was spontaneous because they hadn't been dating for very long, but they had been close friends for four years. They knew each other better than most other married couples on their first year anniversary. Xander and Lora's wedding was great, and the honeymoon was even better. When they weren't in the bedroom, they were out learning the hula and laying out by the beach. They took their time coming home, they were too happy away from the world for that short while. They also decided to take their time having kids. Jason's daughter was a toddler by now, and Xander and Lora wouldn't have their first child for a few more years. They wanted to hold off for now, and that was alright with them. Ben and Amanda's wedding was pretty average. They had a large, but very simple ceremony. Their house was decorated and they settled in. Ben was the third New to get married, but Amanda was the oldest of the Guapos. For Amanda's family, it was a very big deal. While Ken and Diane were family sims glad to earn some extra aspiration points for another of their children getting married, they did have ten more weddings to go. Brian and Natalie were getting ready to celebrate their first, and insisted on paying for everything for the ceremony. Naturally, a fireman and a part time librarian couldn't afford much. This is how, when Jason and Lora had expensive and elaborate weddings, Ben's was simple. Ivan Heire and Kelsey Guapo had a little bit of a strange start. When Ivan was a teenager, his meddling parents, mostly just his mother, suggested he ask out Rachael New. They wanted their son to eventually marry a member of a strong and influential (not to mention rich) family like hers. Ivan just didn't connect with Rachel though. That phase didn't last long, because very soon Ivan met Kelsey instead. They started dating their senior year of high school, and stayed together all through college. Kelsey's parents were always supportive and were just glad that their little girl was happy, but Ivan's took awhile to warm up to the idea that they wouldn't become in-laws with the most popular couple in town...yet. They were also a little jealous that The Guapo's, their soon to be in-laws, actually would be, when Kelsey's older sister daughter married Ben. Brian and Natalie Guapo footed the bills just as they did with Amanda's however, and this made the Heire's slightly complacent. Jessica was just a toddler still, soon to be a child, but Vanessa was pregnant again. A happy mother once again, but she was unhappy that she managed to make only one promotion since she had Jessica. The new baby was a boy, Jason was thrilled to have a son, and he was Ken and Diane's first grandson. They named him Eric. Eric was a toddler before long, and now the couple, mostly Vanessa, had two toddlers to take care of. Right around the time that Ivan was chasing after Rachael, she caught the eye of Kyle Rye also. While Ivan and Rachael never clicked, Kyle was a perfect match for her. They too, started dating that year. They even went on a few only slightly awkward double dates together. Everything each couple did was somehow influenced by the other. When Rachel and Kyle got engaged, Ivan proposed. When Ivan and Rachael invited Kyle and Rachel to their wedding, the latter started planning their own. They would remain good friends all of their lives, but the strangeness of their past would never be forgotten. Because Rachael was a New, she had an elaborate wedding. Because Rachael was a New, she had her dream home right out of college. Kyle was a little uncomfortable with the idea of letting his in-laws pretty much by them a house and only let them contribute a little, but he got over it when he saw the miniature pond in the front yard. Kyle believed in providing for himself and his new wife, but he knew that he could never give her a house that nice, and saw how happy it made Jordan. He might have gotten a few lectures about it from his own parents, but after a few years everyone got used to the idea. Sean and Pearl were living in wedded bliss. They were extremely happy together, and the two of them were thrilled to welcome to the world their first child, a little girl named Opal. She took after her mother in nearly every way. She had Pearl's nose, her eyes, and most notably she had her pink hair. Sean was devoted to her in every way he could be, and Pearl was delighted to dress her up everyday. The baby sister of Ame and Pearl was Ruby. She, exactly like her sisters, met her future husband while living at the apartment they shared together. It just took her awhile to find the right guy. Usually she would fall madly in love with her current paramore, but then she would find herself dumped and heartbroken all over again. When she met Jeff, her sisters warned her not to get too attached. Ruby had a habit of spending the night too soon, and the next morning when they woke up, Ruby expected the usual. Jeff completely suprised her with a ring. They had only known each other for three days. But being the hopeless romantic that she was, Ruby accepted. She was so glad that anyone had asked her. Her sisters, both mothers, one of them responsible, warned her that it wasn't a good idea, but Ruby married Jeff later that week. Ivan and Kelsey were so poor starting out that they could only afford the smallest house in Pleasantview. Ivan didn't earn much as a pastor, and Kelsey wasn't raking in any more as a librarian, the same as her mother. While they were overjoyed when they found out they were expecting their first child, they worried about how well they could provide for a needy baby with their finances in such sad shape. Kyle was an aspiring mechanic, climbing his career ladder and working part time on his own fixer-upper cars to make a little extra cash. They were able to live pretty comfortably with their house paid off, and Lora's salary as a veterinarian, but Kyle hoped to open a car garage one day. He was very aware that his wife's parents bought them their house, and that his wife's money mostly provided for them. Coming from parents that taught him it was his responsibility to take care of his family made Kyle feel especially inadequate compared to Lora. It made him even more determined to open a business and show his, and Lora's parents that he was a contributor in their marriage, and wouldn't just let his wife take care of their budding family; at least not for too much longer. Finally, Rue and Reese's puppies were born. They had four of them in the first litter, so they decided that they might not need to breed them again. Jason joked that this meant they had to have four kids. Vanessa laughed halfheartedly as she looked down at her very pregnant stomach. Yes, she was pregnant again by the time the little pups became adult dogs. All of them were chocolate labs like their mother, and they were named Hershey, Halo, Hamlet, and Hazel. Ivan and Kelsey's baby was a boy, much to Ivan's delight. The four, still living grandparents were thrilled as well. Ivan and Kelsey named their baby boy Joshua, a very traditional and biblical name. They were still struggling to afford diapers now and then, and the might have had to move some furniture around to make room for the crib in their tiny bedroom, but they somehow found a way to stay positive, and always give as much love as they had to their new son. Jeff and Ruby had their wedding only minutes after the engagement had begun. Ruby sprung the news to her sisters that not that she had gotten engaged, but was now in the process of moving into a house with her new husband. They were shocked of course. They both swore that it would never last. So far, they seemed to be wrong. Jeff was successful at his job, and doted on Ruby like every woman wished to be. He seemed to be the perfect husband. Perhaps he was. Bobby and Hanna tried to get pregnant for a very long time. Several times Hanna thought that she was, only to be disappointed. However, the great news finally arrived, and three short days later, Brandon was here. They didn't have quite enough to afford a larger home yet, so Brandon had to stay with mom and dad well into his toddler years, but they were still saving up. They hoped to have enough for a great two-story place before having any more children, so that everyone could have their own room. Xander and Lora's new home was large, spacious, and everything they ever wanted. The three floors had enough room for the family they hoped to slowly build. It is also one of my favorite decoration jobs. (Of my own creation and available here on TSR: See "Red Splendor") While Jason was awaiting his third, Ben was trying for a baby with his wife, and even Rachael thought she might be pregnant, Lora had decided that she wanted kids, but waited a little longer for them. The day came when she was expecting also, after they had a chance to be happily married together without the responsibility of a baby. They waited until they decided they were both ready, and were happier for it. I will leave off with Sean and Pearl's surprising news: the arrival of triplets. The chances were low, but they were blessed with three babies. Opal was still only a toddler. With four little ones, they decided to get out of their cramped apartment and into a real house. Somehow, having four little ones puts other things on hold for a little while, however, and the move didn't happen as soon as they would have liked. Sean was glad that he got two sons out of the package, Oliver and Oscar. The third baby was of course a girl, and she was named Olivia.
