Early in the morning, Charlie sat down to her first meeting as the newest member of the agency. At nearly the crack of dawn, four out of the five members of the group gathered into the sitting room. Everyone was there with the exception of Chase Donavon. Why wasn't Chase with them? He was the boss, wasn't he? Shouldn't he be leading the meeting? Charlie wondered all of this, but she didn't ask any questions. This was her first meeting and she wasn't prepared to mess it up. She thought it best to keep quiet and listen. At least just for now anyway. "Alright, to start things off," Fargo began, "The Boss will not be joining us in this meeting. I know he normally does, but this time it's different. I've already updated him on a few things before hand. So he's out shopping at the moment." It seemed as though Fargo was in charge of the meeting right now. "What's he shopping for?" Eddy wanted to know. "Why at a time like this?" "Well, he's getting us some costumes for our whole break into the French government headquarters plan..." Fargo explained slowly. "Don't worry. I'll explain in more depth in a few minutes." "First, I wanted to inform everyone I've mailed off the samples we took at the Jean Bernard disappearance site." Fargo continued. "They're on their way to our lab. Hopefully we'll get some interesting results this time. Maybe something new. We did come away with some very good samples. Good work everyone." "Wait, we have a lab?" Charlie interrupted unintentionally. She was just so surprised to hear the bit about the laboratory that it was an automatic response. "Well... er... More or less... But yeah, we do." Fargo skipped around, answering the question vaguely. "I'm sure you'll get to see it someday. Anyway, let's hope our samples render some useful results.

"Continuing on, I'd like to report that we have a definite plan on how we can infiltrate the French government headquarters."
"Oooo!" Alexis squealed. "Sounds exciting already!" "Yes," Fargo replied with a smile. "I did some research, and found out that the government officals are having a ball at the headquarters next week. I hacked into their roster and entered our names onto it. Well, I put in our alias names."

"We're going to a ball?" Alexis clapped her hands excitedly. "Does that mean we get to dress up? I want to dress up!"

"Well, yeah." Fargo nodded. "Naturally. We will want to blend in with the rest of the crowd. We'll need to look official. Chase is shopping for high-end suits and gowns as we speak. Though they shouldn't be difficult to find in Paris of all places."
"Chase-?" Charlie began quietly, but bit her tongue while her mind finished the rest of her thought. 'Chase is shopping for our outfits? How can he? He's blind.' Even though this concern flashed through Charlie's mind, she decided to keep it to herself. She had already seen Chase do plenty of amazing things despite his blindness factor. Besides, the rest of the group didn't seem concerned in the least about leaving this task up to the man. Charlie would just have to trust him.

"What was that about Cha-?" Fargo tried to ask Charlie about her unfinished inquiry when a sudden noise interrupted him in mid-question.
"Ah-CHOO!" Charlie was started by the noise at first. It hadn't been produced by any of the agency members, yet it could be heard clearly throughout the room. They were not alone. Behind the stair banister, a young teen stood, frozen in place by terror. His cover had been blown by a single sneeze. "Who's there?" Charlie whispered as she glanced over her shoulder toward the source of the sneeze. "Je... J-je..." The boy stuttered clearly in French. He looked as though he wanted the air around him to envelope him and hide him from everyone's sight. Everyone jumped up out of their seats when they realized they were being spied on. The agency had paid the hotel a generous amount of money to reserve the place only for themselves so that they could conduct meetings in private. No one but the agency members was supposed to be there. Yet here stood this boy, quivering before their very eyes. Eddy, by far, was the most displeased. Eddy walked right up to confront the boy. "What are you doing, spying on us here?! Did somebody send you? How much do you know?" "Je ne sais pas!" The boy cried. "Je ne sais pas! Je ne parle pas l'anglais!" "Calm down, Eddy," Fargo said. "He's just the kid that works at the local bakery. He comes here to deliver bread and baked goods once a week. I don't think he even speaks any English." "I don't know..." Eddy replied, eying the boy carefully. "I think it might be too dangerous to our plans to let this one go. If word got out that we were planning to break into the French government headquarters, the police would be on us in a second. We'd be thrown in prison probably for good." "Oh, I wish Chase was here!" Alexis whined. "He'd know what to do..." "Hang on a second," Charlie offered, "Why don't I keep an eye on the kid until Chase gets back?" "Are you sure that's such a good idea?" Fargo questioned Charlie's proposal with doubt.

"Yes, I'm sure." Charlie insisted. "We can't just sit around here with that kid and wait around for Chase come back to solve our problems. Let me take him with me to a calmer environment. I can maybe even try to figure out what he wants with us." She added the last part with more confidence in her voice than she felt in her heart.
"Alright then," Fargo gave in reluctantly with a shrug. "If you feel you can handle it, then this will be considered your first assignment as an agent." So Charlie took the teen into her own hands, hoping that somehow she might be able to resolve this mishap by getting him relaxed enough to open up to her. In the end, the two wound up at The Catania Cafe. Charlie didn't realize the boy would be so hungry. She waited quietly why he attacked his plate of food vigorously. After a bit, the teen seemed to be feeling a lot more relaxed, so she decided now was the time to ask questions. "So, I didn't catch your name... What was it again?" The teen looked up from his food for just a moment, but that was the only response Charlie got. He didn't even pause or skip a beat with his fork when she asked.

Charlie sighed to herself. He really didn't understand what she said at all, did he? She needed to know about this kid and what he wanted, but she hardly knew where to start.
Then Charlie had an idea. Hadn't Fargo said this kid worked at the local bakery? Charlie thought that maybe if she could figure out where this bakery was located, she could find a way to get there and talk to this kid's co-workers or something. She figured it was worth a shot.

"Hey," She said loud and clear in an attempt to get the boy's attention. "Where is your bakery? Your b-a-k-e-r-y?" She spoke slowly and clearly, enunciating everything carefully, hoping the kid would understand something.
The teen finally looked up from his plate, and stared at Charlie intently. Something seemed to have clicked. Was this success? The kid got up from the table, and motioned with his arm for Charlie to follow him. Then he began to walk down the street, looking back over his shoulder for a moment to see if Charlie was going to come too. Charlie got the hint. He was going to show her where the bakery was. She stood up from her seat and caught up to him quickly with long strides.

Once he saw that she was following, the teen continued down the street.
Evidently, the bakery was not very far, because it didn't take long before the teen lead Charlie down an ally way that opened up into a small courtyard. And there it was. The bakery. A chime of the doorbell signaled the arrival of the two. As Charlie followed the blonde boy into the bakery, the unmistakable aroma of fresh baked breads and sweet pastries instantly filled her nose. And the reason why was obvious. There was all sorts of breads and baked sweets displayed all over the counters. And Charlie was sure she could smell something baking in the stone fire place. "Bonjour." A woman behind the counter came over to greet Charlie. Then she laid her eyes on the teen. "Oh! Neveu?" She addressed him in French. She seemed surprised and slightly displeased. "Qui est-elle?" She then asked the boy as she pointed to Charlie. "Euh... Je peux expliquer..." The boy replied nervously. "Uh... um... Excusez-moi?" Charlie addressed the woman, mustering together one of the few French phrases she still remembered from high school. "D-do you happen to speak any English?" In reply to Charlie's question, the woman just stared blank-faced back at her, almost as if she hadn't understood anything. Charlie began to worry. This woman was probably Charlie's only hope of finding out about the boy, but if she didn't understand English either, then Charlie would be stuck again. What could she do? Would she be able to prove herself on her very first assignment ever as an agent or would she fail? In this one moment, she really had no idea.
