Rebecca Greene and her best friend TJ spend their Sundays at the local park but little did Rebecca know that this Sunday was going to change her life. I love my Sundays with TJ. I enjoyed skating in the park with my best friend and I loved the fact that TJ knew what it was like to be an outcast even though he could be popular... "That was the best hour of my life! Bec I wish that I could skate like you," TJ said.

I smiled. "TJ your just as good as me."

We sat on a park bench for a while laughing and chatting until the mood changed.
"Rebecca do you think that you would ever get a boyfriend?" TJ asked.

"Sure if I changed my style a little then I should," I replied.

I was curious to know why TJ wanted to know this.

"I don't think you could get a boyfriend not even if you change," TJ said.

I got up from the bench and grabbed my skateboard jumping on it before TJ could hurt me more.

"Wait!" TJ yelled after me as I zoomed away.
When I got home I found my older sister Sally out back, she was a stylist at the local salon and I knew that she could help me prove TJ wrong.

"Sally can I get a makeover?" I asked.

"Are you serious?" she demanded.

"Yeah," I replied sheepishly.

Sally smiled and grabbed my arm. "C'mon I know someone that could help us."
I watched Sally walk into her workplace. I wasn't sure if I wanted to change my style but I just had to prove TJ wrong. "Thanks so much for doing this Ella,I owe you big time," Sally said.

"It's fine i've been waiting for this day myself," Ella replied.

I followed them nervously, I was unsure about my desicion.
"Now..." Ella mumbled.

Ella pinched a few strands of my hair between her fingers and she made a clicking noise with her tongue when she looked at me skate shoes.

"Don't worry Bec I know what to do!" Ella declared.
"OMG, Bec you actually look pretty with a dress on, I almost forgot what you looked like with your hair like that," Sally crowed. "Thanks Sally, I'll show everyone at school what I really look like," I said. Next Day... Once I got to school I heard the popular girls (Holly and Molly) talking to Dean (Probably the hotest guy at school).

"Is that Rebecca?" Holly asked as she flipped her brown hair back.

"I don't know," Dean replied.

"OMG! it is Rebecca," Molly gasped.
"Wow Rebecca you look amazing," Dean said with a wink.

"T-thank you," I stuttered.
"Rebecca you should sit with us at lunch," Holly said.

"Thanks and you can call me Bec," I replied.

"Okay, Bec we'll see you at lunch but we better get to class," Molly replied.
My day was amazing. I sat with the popular kids at lunch but I couldn't see TJ anywhere so it kind of made me sad because I wanted him to see me.

Holly invited me to go out with them this afternoon and I agreed but I had to go home first and tell Sally.

Also Dean asked me out! so I guess that I was right and TJ was wrong.
I was hoping that TJ was going to be on the bus but he wasn't there... When I got home I noticed TJ standing near the cliff and looking out at the ocean. I knew that it was my chance to talk to him. "TJ, I missed you at school today," I said.

"Oh my god, Bec what happened to you? You look like one of the... one of the..." TJ couldn't finish his sentence.

"You know Dean asked me out today and I said 'yes'," I said.

"His only going to use you," TJ snapped.
"He doesn't love you," TJ continued in a softer voice.

I groaned. "Yes he does."
I turned to face TJ. "What do you know about love?" Instead of answering me TJ kissed me. I stared at TJ with wide eyes. Things were heading this way between us but I had agreed to be with Dean.

"That's what I know about love," TJ whispered.
"I'm sorry TJ but I don't like you in that way," I said.

"Yeah right," TJ muttered.

"I'm telling the truth," I insisted.
TJ glared at me. "So I'm not the right type of guy for you!"

"You really hurt me yesterday and I proved you wrong!" I snapped.

"You don't belong in that group!" TJ yelled.

"Says you," I replied.

"Bec we promised to be outcasts forever and ever. We promised to be friends and I know that you have feelings for me too," TJ said.

"I don't," I snapped.

We stood in silence for a long time.

"Goodbye Bec," TJ whispered.

"No!" I protested.
I was too late. I watched TJ run away from me. Tears welled in my eyes as I realized what I just did. I did love TJ but what he said to my yesterday really hurt me...
