Hi everyone! Thanks for continuing to read my story, you don't know how much that means to me! Hope you enjoy these last few chapters!

XOXO Alessa
The child was grinning, and tapping his foot in an exaggerated manner, as I held onto Aiden. He was scared of this child, making me scared as well. I clutch onto Aiden who whispers again for me to let him go.
"I have to go with Him."
"Why? Who is he?" I frantically ask, a pit in my stomach. I can't shake the feeling that these are the last moments I'm going to spend with him.
"Go to James," he answers instead, bringing me in for an embrace. I hug him back, not dwelling on what he just said. I cling to him, trying to memorize the way his body wraps around mine, the scent of his skin. "I love you," I tell him, ignoring the snickers of the child. Aiden releases me, putting on a brave smile. "I know, and you have to know that I never meant to hurt you, and I'm sorry for everything. I love you too," he chokes out, suddenly collapsing to the floor again. I reach for him, about to scream for a doctor, when I see the child is almost rolling on the floor in laughter. "Oh Aiden! You can't be saying things like that, not in your position! Love is poison to your kind, it's why you've been coughing up blood, screaming in agony. I thought you'd know better than that!" "You! You're doing this to him!" I yell, charging at the child, but the fascination behind his inhuman eyes brings me to a halt. Aiden is up again, pulling me into him, and begging me with a whisper to not move. The child looks back and forth at us with excitement and glee, like how you'd imagine one in front of unopened presents, deciding which one to rip out first. "No my dearest," he shakes a long finger at me, as if I'm the child who doesn't understand she's in danger. "This is the eternity he chose. Love is just something he wasn't supposed to experience while possessing that body. Oh well. Shall we Aiden?" Possessing? My breathing comes out in a fast blow, and not able to remove my eyes from the laughing child who has now started humming, I whisper to Aiden mortified, "That isn't your body is it? It's why you didn't know that woman was your mother. You never met her. You're actually possessing someone." Still in shock, I receive another hug from him, whispering once again for me to go to James.
"No matter what happens, just remember that I really do love you," he grunts, breathing shallowly through clenched teeth. "Promise me that you'll never forget that."
He gives me a kiss that ends much too soon as the child starts singing, "he's leaving! Aiden's leaving!" He then stops only to look at me, a taunting glint in his eyes. "My sweet Evie, if love poisons evil, and evil poisons love, how much poison can your body endure before it kills you?" Rather than answer, I reach out for Aiden, but my hand only grasps air. He was gone. I have no idea to where, or if he's coming back anytime soon. I walk out in a daze, oblivious to the world around me. So much was running through my mind, that I couldn't stop and grab onto a single thought. I was left only with a despairing feeling that I wouldn't see Aiden again. A shake of my shoulder brings my eyes to James, who was studying me carefully. "Dez called me that you were here, are you alright?"
I can't manage to say anything, Aiden is gone.
"What's wrong? What happened?" He asks me more loudly this time, and finally catching my breath, I open my mouth to cry, "he's gone!" He doesn't say anything for so long, that I glance up, wondering if he's left me alone to cry. I was truly surprised he was still there, hurt and guilt in his face. "I'm sorry." "No you're not!" I choke out, "You wanted him gone!"
"Of course I did! I just didn't think I could watch you cry over him, and still care that you're hurting," he answers, all his confusion and frustration looking right back at me.
"He's really gone then?" He asks cautiously, expecting me to wail louder.
"Well that child thing took him." I sob out, and hear him breathe in sharply. "What child thing?"
"I don't know. He was a child, with these weird pale eyes, and a creepy laugh. He was always laughing at us and-"
"-and he saw you."
"Yes. He walked in while...hold on. Aiden told me to come to you, why?" Everything was becoming even more confusing. Why was James suddenly afraid? "James? Who was that?" "Dammit Evie! We told you to stay away, but you're so damn stubborn! Now He's here?" He starts freaking out on me, that I can only watch him, hoping he'd calm down soon. "We have to get you to Serena's. Go to your room, pack a few things, and don't tell anyone else where you're going," he orders. "What? Why?"
"Please, for once just do as I say. Even Aiden realized you'd be safer with me."
"Okay, but I have to tell Dez-"
"-no. Don't tell anyone. Just go straight to your room, and meet me at Serena's."
"Are you serious? It's Dez! Why can't I at least tell her where I'm at?"
"Because that thing that you met, that child, it's not a child. He can take any form He wants, possess anybody He pleases, that's why," he answers angrily, and hearing the urgency in his voice, I nod.
I drive to Serena's as fast as I can, my heart beating more furiously the closer I get. I can't even remember what I packed or what I forgot to pack. I just know I have to meet James. Why did Aiden want me to go with him, how can James protect me form whatever it was they feared? I pound on Serena's door, feeling something menacing at my back. "Serena! It's Evie!" I yell out, and hear her running down the stairs before she opens the door wide open. "What is it? What's wrong?" "Aiden's gone! Some evil little child thing took him!"
"I can't believe He's here. I've never heard of a situation like this before where the demon messes up so badly, that He himself, has to come," she mutters.
"Now do you understand what Aiden is? What evil he brings into our world?" She asks me, locking the door shut.
"I," I think I'm starting to. I'm starting to make sense of things, but my heart was too slow to catch up.
She notices my bag then, and looks up at me with even more fright in her eyes. "Did He see you?"
"The child! You said He took the form of a child!"
"Yes, I was at the hospital with Aiden. I thought he was sick when he began coughing up blood, and then that child comes in laughing-"
"-Aiden was coughing up blood?" She interrupts, and I nod, what now? "Evie? What happened between the two of you?"
I bite down on my lip. There was just no way I was going to tell her I had just made love with Aiden. That he can't tell me he loves me back without him being in agony. "Evie, if you're going to be staying here, you need to learn to trust me, and I need you to be honest with me."
"Fine. He told me he loved me."
"No, that's not possible. They can't feel anything, much less love," she argues, disbelief in her face.
"You're wrong! He loves me, and I love him!" I argue back, painfully aware that I sounded like a bratty teenager defending her bad-boy love to her parents.
"But to tell you that, his body would reject it. Love is toxic to demons, he can't be a demon if he's able to love. He's failed in the most horrible way," she continues muttering.
A knock on the door startles us, until I hear James call out, "Serena?"
I head to answer him, but she slaps my hand away from the doorknob. This seems all too familiar, only now she's afraid of James.
"I know you're there. Evie's car is in the drive way, and...I know you're there." He knocks more loudly this time, and Serena's eyes grow more widely if possible. "I just want to make sure Evie is safe," he says, but Serena starts shaking her head as if he can see her. "No, she's here, she's safe, but you're not coming in!" "Evie? Step back," he calls out, and as soon as I do as he says, the door comes flying open. He takes a step towards us, only to be stopped by an invisible barrier. He looks around the door frame, and back at Serena with a disapproving frown. "Why can't I enter your house? What did you do?" "I-I had to protect myself!" She stutters.
"You put up another protection spell?!" I ask her baffled. "The last witch you trusted betrayed you, and now you go hiring a new one? What the hell?"
She ignores me to repeat herself. "You're not coming in James." I don't understand why she's doing this. Why is she so afraid of James now? This is all starting to wear me down, and I sit in a chair nearby. James is clearly frustrated as he takes a deep breath, and lets it back out slowly. "I can come in, and I will."
He walks in with just a small amount of effort, a low grunt, as he walks through the invisible barrier.
I jump up as Serena starts screaming, backing away from him. "Stay back! What was I supposed to do?! You lied to me!"
"What are you talking about?" I ask her, my eyes not leaving James's face. He looks back at me, his expression unreadable, but it all clicks in my head. I know now why she's afraid of him. He betrayed her, he put the watcher in her house.
I curse so loudly that he stops approaching her, and she stops moving away.
"You have got to be kidding me!" I yell at him. "You're the freakin witch!"

OMG! Aiden is gone. Poor Evie. I think Aiden really does love her. And will Evie have a demon child now? Is that laughing kid Satan or the ruler of the underworld? I have so many questions Alessa hope you can answer them in the next chapter.
