Chapter 3 :) Sorry if this chapter is a little boring D: I woke up with a smile on my face as I remembered the fact that Josh was laying next to me. I looked to my left and the smiled faded. Josh was missing, he wasn't there. I sat up and looked around the room hoping that he was sitting in one of the chairs near the fireplace but he wasn't in my room. I got out of bed feeling betrayed. Josh had promised to explain everything to me, he had to tell me what he was. I stormed towards my bedroom door and I slammed it behind me as I made my way towards the stairs. I reached the bottom of the stairs and gazed around the foyer until I saw a note stuck to the front door. I walked over to it and ripped it from the wall.

I had to leave sorry, Josh.

I scrunched the note up and slipped it into my back pocket.

"Dammit Josh," I growled. "You promised."
"What's wrong?" Delilah asked.

I walked over to her and I saw that she was wearing her clothes from the night before. She must have slept over last night.

"Josh just walked out without saying goodbye," I replied as tears stung my eyes.

Delilah sighed. "Aw sweetie it's okay don't cry, he'll be back."

I wiped the tears away. "I don't know why I feel this way."

"It's because you care about him. Anyway I have a favour to ask," Delilah said while changing the subject.

"What?" I asked.

"Can I stay here for a bit, my room mate is really annoying me and I need a place to stay," Delilah replied.

"Sure Del you can stay as long as you want," I said.
Delilah thanked me then left. She came back later wanting to go to the Summer Festival at the park. I went with her knowing that she was trying to get my mind off of Josh. That's what I loved about Delilah, she was always there for me. Delilah led me to the skating rink and I skated around happily until I lost my balance. My heart began to pound and my eyes widened as I tried to re balance myself. I was going to hurt myself if I fell over and that's what scared me most. Just as I was about to fall someone grabbed me around the waist and helped steady me. I turned to thank my hero but no one was there. I looked around to see Delilah on the other side of the rink. She was having trouble staying on her feet. I searched the rink to see if anyone else was around but we were the only ones skating. I returned my gaze back to Delilah and I watched as she fell to the ground. We left the skating rink so that we could have a water fight. Delilah seemed slightly upset that she fell over in front of everyone but that changed the moment she hit me with a water balloon.

"Ha I got you El," she laughed.
I threw a water balloon at her hoping that I'd get her but she lunged herself at the ground and the balloon smashed onto the ground behind her. She began to laugh harder as she climbed back onto her feet.

"You've got to better than that," she teased.
I joined in with her laughter and dodged the next balloon she threw at me. She laughed at my expression as I realized that I had actually dodged her balloon.

"Looks like I'm doing just fine," I stated.
Delilah began to through as many water balloons as she could but I kept dogding them.

"C'mon Del you got all the A's in PE at school," I said in a teasing tone.

"Oh your asking for it," Delilah laughed as she threw another balloon.
I scooped another balloon up and I threw it at Delilah. I watched it glide gracefully -well as gracefully as a balloon could move- through the space between us. Delilah held her hands up just as the balloon hit her chest. She was laughing as the water dripped down her body. "Okay, okay you won. There's Monica over there go talk to her," Delilah said.

"Okay. At least you admitted defeat," I replied as I walked to Monica.

Monica was the proprietor of the park and she organised all of the gigs here.
I talked to Monica and by the end of it I had a gig for the next night. I was so excited as I realized that I had the chance to wear the costume my mum had made for me for this occasion.

"Tomorrow night be here by at least 5:30 so that we can set up," Monica said with a smile as she walked away.

All day I had been feeling as if someone was watching me in a protective way then it changed.
The wind shifted and the smell of rotten eggs filled my nose. The night before flashed in my mind as I remembered the smell and the strange stares that I had felt. There was only one person that I knew that caused this feeling...
