Please enjoy... =)

Please enjoy... =) I dropped my spoon and pulled away from the table. Something in my gut told me to just grab something on the way home; this conversation could have been avoided.

Kimberly: Where are you going? Did you not hear what I just said?
I got up and started walking towards the front door.

Kimberly: Neko? What’s the matter; aren’t you going to say something about what I said? (She asked as she followed behind me)

I turned around to face her. She walked towards me.

I stared into her eyes and saw hope in them. Hope, which made her believe that I was going to give up on my wife and be with her. I hated to see it. I didn’t want to hurt Kimberly’s feelings; she’s been good to me.

I guess I was staring at her for a long time- before I knew it she spoke again.

Kimberly: Are you going to say something?

I took a deep breath. I regretted what I was about to say.
Neko: Kim, you and I know that this would never work out.
Kimberly: How come? It makes perfect sense.

Neko: In a way it does, but in my world, it doesn’t.

Kimberly began to frown
Kimberly: I’m confused

Neko: I’m sorry, but the only woman I love is Mohala.

Kimberly: But… She wants a divorce Neko. She doesn’t want to be with you, but I do. (Her eyes began to tear up). Us being together makes all the sense in the world. I have your son, you’re always here, I don’t give you any problems. I love you, don’t you love me?

I couldn’t answer that, well I didn’t want to answer that.
Kimberly stared at me with tears running down her face.

Kimberly: I asked you a question…

I closed my eyes as she asked the question again.

Kimberly: Do you love me Neko?
Neko: Yes!!! (I blurted out as I opened my eyes.) Yes, I love you Kimberly.

Kimberly began to smile and her tears began to stop.

Kimberly: So let’s be together.

I began to think to myself, “Maybe this is what I need to do- instead of what I want to do. Maybe it’s best that I let Mohala go; she’s probably moved on since she wants a divorce.”

I was about to say something, but my phone began to vibrate in my pocket.

Neko: Excuse me, someone is texting me, it might be a gig.

Kimberly: Okay, I’ll just clear the table of our dirty dishes. (She said walking off to do the task)

I stared at Kimberly as she cleared the table. I smiled at the thought of us being together. The more I think about it, the more I can see it and accept it.
I pulled out my phone and navigated through it to see my text messages. When I read the name of the sender, my heart began to beat hard. I began to question myself. “Was this text message really from Mohala? Are my eyes playing tricks on me?” To make sure I wasn’t going crazy, I closed and opened my eyes again and read the name. I wasn’t crazy!!!! The message was from my wife!!!! “Come home soon, we need to talk” Was all the text said

Neko: She does love me (I said out loud to no one in particular)

Kimberly walked back over to me

Kimberly: Huh?

I stared up to her face. I had forgotten where I was.
Kimberly: That must be one big gig (she said referring to my text.)

Neko: Oh, I uhh. (I stubbed over my words)

Kimberly: Everything okay baby?

Aww man, did she just call me baby? I really didn’t want to break Kimberly’s heart, but it must be done to save my own heart.
My heart stopped when I opened the front door to my home. There she was my wife, Mohala. She looked so beautiful sitting in that chair.

When I entered the room neither one of us said a word, we just stared at one another.

Mohala: It took you long enough to get here. (She said breaking the silence.)

Still I said nothing; I was just so happy to see her here, back in our home- where she belonged. The house doesn’t feel the same without her here.
Mohala sat up in the chair and began to get up.

Mohala: Okay, don’t speak. I want to talk first anyway. (She clears her throat) Neko, I didn’t come back to make us work; I came back to end us.

I stood there heart broken, she didn’t want to make us work?

Mohala: I am tired of playing this cat and mouse game with you when it comes to this divorce.
Neko: You don’t really want it My Flower (I said calmly)

Mohala got up from the chair and walked over towards to the television set to get some space between us.

Mohala: I wouldn’t waste my time being here if I wasn’t serious. (She stopped walking and turned around towards me) I want to end this…this… whatever this is.
I walked towards her.

Neko: This is love Mohala, and I don’t believe that you want to give it away.

I stared into her eyes.

Neko: I can tell by the way you stared at me when I came in the house; you looked as if you missed me. I can tell by looking at you right now, your eyes are telling me that you love me.
I began to reach for her, but she pulled back.

Mohala: The only thing my eyes are saying is that I’m tired of this battle. I just want to let this go and move on- be free! I hate this…this…this… UGH WHATEVER IT IS!! (She began to yell) Before you say this is Love, well let me inform you- THIS.IS.NOT.LOVE!

Neko: Yes it is and you know it. I don’t see why you are fighting it. (I began to get mad) I’ve been searching and waiting on you for a while now!!! I couldn’t find you! I was worried about you!!! (I walked away and then back) Your whole family cut me out, they wouldn’t tell me where you were! And when I finally get some kind of contact from you, you send some guy over with DIVORCE PAPERS! YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!?!?!

I stared at my wife, or at least the woman who portrayed her. Did she really want to let us go? Her mouth was saying one thing, but her eyes were saying another.

Did she really loose love for me?

There was only one way to find out.
I grabbed her and kissed her.

If she hated me and if she was truly serious about getting a divorce, I might as well kiss her for the last time.

I passionately kissed my wife and to my surprised she kissed me back.
Our kiss lasted for a while; when it was over, all we could do was stare at one another. I waited for her to slap me, but it never happened.

Mohala: Neko, why? (She began to cry)Why did you do me so bad?
I took her into her arms, then we kissed again. I just wanted her to forgive me so we could move on.

I want to wish that I never met Kimberly, but I would never have Jr. in my life.
Neko: My Flower if we’re going to make this work, you’re going to have to work with me. I know I messed up and I’m sorry, but Jr. is here now and there is nothing we can do, but love him. Do you love me?

Mohala: Yes (in a mere whisper)

Neko: Well I need you to find it in yourself to love him as well. He is not only my son, but he is your son as well.

I looked at Mohala’s facial expression. She said nothing. I waited for her to answer me because I needed an answer from her- to know she would not pull her disappearing stunt on me ever again.

Mohala: Okay, I want to work this out.

Neko: That means- no more running away. We are a team and if we have a problem or if you think it's too much- you come to me and we will work something out.

I hugged my wife so tight that I believe she would burst any moment.

Neko: Don't you ever leave me again girl.

Mohala: I won't

Neko: Promise me
Mohala: I promise baby.

Hearing her call me baby made me feel good. I got my wife back!!!
I kissed her cheek and let her go.

Neko: Now that you are home, I need you to wear this. (I said as I got on one of my knees)
Neko: After you left your ring on the table, I revised it and kept it in my pocket.

Mohala began to tear up

Neko: I knew you were coming back, I just didn't know when.

She stared at the ring and me.

Neko: I want you marry me again so we can start over. So will you?
Mohala: Of course

I slid her wedding ring back on her finger.

Neko:To new beginnings.
