And we're back! Well, this is part 1 [obviously] and I expect there to be about 10 parts. Maybe. Right now though, Amber is just having a flash back, though. In the next part however, it will be present day. Read on, and rate and comment! --------------------------------------------------------->

And we're back! Well, this is part 1 [obviously] and I expect there to be about 10 parts. Maybe. Right now though, Amber is just having a flash back, though. In the next part however, it will be present day. Read on, and rate and comment! ---------------------------------------------------------> Mom had asked her question, puzzling Lacey. She thought before she spoke, I remember. Mom tended to do things to people, put them under pressure. It was a minute before Lacey spoke, making the air seem hot and heavy.
"I want my daughter back, mom. I want both my kids back when I get on the right track. Where is Ginger?" Lacey asked, puzzling both Lucas and I. Who was Ginger, and what was Lacey talking about?
"Lacey," mom replied, tears forming in her eyes."Lacey, honey, Ginger is gone. I tried to get in touch with you when it happened, but it was like you fell off the face of the earth! Soon after she pased, I got pregnant with Amber. I felt like I'd been blessed with and angel child after she was born, she was so beautiful. She filled GInger's spot." Mom said sadly, her head going down, sobbing. I remember the suprise that filled my gut. It was the first time I'd ever seen mom cry. She quickly wiped her tears, and looked at my big sister. All was quiet. Lacey didn't cry. Over her own daughter. "I can't cry." She said sadly. "Because I didn't even know her. I want to see this Amber girl." She said, quickly getting up then quickly sitting back down. "Lucas isn't mine, mom. He's my friend, Jose's. I took him, kidnapped him. I'm running mom, the police are looking for me. I'm leaving later tonight." She said, and walked over to my door, opening it slowly. Lucas and I stopped talking, but kept playing. We didn't see her at first, but I know Lucas was hurt. All those years he'd thought that woman was his mother, but she wasn't. In a way, it made me happy. That meant Lucas wasn't related to me in any way. I smiled slightly at him, taking the plane and making it fly around. I remember hearing Lacey's bottom hitting my chair, and she wraped her arm around my girraffe. She watched us, and I heard mom chopping away on her block, probably making lunch. Lucasand I left the room, laughing crazily.
"Mom," I asked," Can Lucas and I go outside? For a minute, she didn't even look up, dazed completely. I cleared my throat.
"Yes sweetheart, go on." SHe ushered us outside.
We watched throught the doors' window as Lacey and mom talked, but we were oblivious to what they were saying.
"I'll race you to the swingset!" Lucas said. I threw my hed back in laughter, knowing I could outrun him.
"Betcha won't!" I replied, and took off running.
I remember I had already started sitting down by the time Lucas got to the swingset.
"Ha!" I laughed. "You hafta push me now!"
And he did. For almost 20 mintues Lucas pushed me, back and forth, back and forth, my legs swimging in the flow. We would've stayed there, but mom called us inside. "Berry, Lucas- get inside- time for lunch!" She yelled, her voice muffled by our laughter. Then we got quiet, and mom went inside. We stood there, Lucas behind me, then he whispered something so quiet I could barely hear him.
"I like you, Amber, I do." And I remember my heart skipping, and I got sweaty.
"Lets go Lucas, my mom's a gret cook!" I exclaimed, smiling at him. His eyes looked sad, and I wished I would've told him that I liked him too, but I was too shy.
As we ate our soup, I didn't look at Lucas at all. Instead, I focused my attention on Lacey. She was talking abut people, someone I didn't know.
'Who cares!' I thought, chuckling softly, turning the attention on me. I hadn;t meant to, and I instantly regretted chuckling.
"Have you ever had your first kiss Amber?" My big sister asked.
"No." I said quietly.
Then it was silent.
"Lucas, you're staying here." She said quietly. "I have to go."
I saw Lucas's eye swell, and tears began to fall down his face.
"I hate you: He said, then ran out the door, and I heard the swing squeak.
