Triffid is a 3storey residence [plus rooftop conservatory], whose living space resembles the 'undercarriage' of the legendary Triffid, suspended as it is from it's four supporting columns.

There is no conventional 'front door', so entry is gained via the stair on the fountain deck and this leads directly into the heart of the house - the kitchen/dining/living area -one lovely open space - and a bathroom. My clear intention was to leave things at that . . but then I realised that it would be rather draughty in the rooms directly above the deck, what with that large 'hole in the floor' and in a RL situation, cold air would probably flow through right up to the conservatory . . so I compromised and enclosed the foot of the stair with glass to keep the outside out and the inside in - then added doors for people traffic!! It does spoil the effect I wanted, somewhat, but it seems a practical solution.

The stair continues to the bedrooms - a double and a twin single - on the next level. These rooms share a rather nice bathroom.

The upper level is given over to comfort, with area rugs of luxurious pile and deep-cushioned couches and loveseats - arranged to provide two separate areas for relaxing conversation, reading or whichever quiet pursuit appeals at the time. A pair of wall unit bookcases provide a wide range of reading material, a matched duo of easels share the light from full height windows with a panoramic view out to sea, and a desk with computer is tucked into a window corner on the opposite side of the room, with a view should one care to look, of the rolling hills, which start just across the road. A powder room/halfbath is a thoughtful addition to this floor.

The stairs make one further rise to the conservatory on the roof. There is seating here and a glorious view out past the lighthouse guarding the bay, to the horizon - not to mention the ambience of growing plants - right at your elbow, so to speak.

Back down at groundlevel to complete the tour. Two pools offer sufficient space for the largest pool party, and there is ample lounger seating for sunbathing/recovery time after a strenuous swim seassion - or use of the treadmill! The glass enclosed gazebo contains 2 bars and seating - again with views of the open water. The remainder of the lot is paved, and fully fenced . . .and there are potted plants decorating. As a finishing touch, a quartet of matching, almost-circular fountains surround the 'entry'.

Triffid was built on the 25x30 lot at 100 Redwood Parkway - to retain the views mentioned previously, this is the recommended location. However, Triffid requires only a flat lot, so really, the choice is yours.
