The Crow's Nest is a 3storey solid stone home, although the 3rd level consists only of a widow's walk with a covered access stairway. Overall, there are 2 double bedrooms.and three full baths.
On the ground floor, the kitchen is handily located to the 2-car garage, so heavy grocery bags need not be transported through the house. The livingroom, with it's wall-mounted TV and an up-to-date sound system, occupies a central position in an open-plan area just off the entry. A double bedroom with ensuite, plus an additional communal bathroom complete this level.
An extensive library and office/study is on the 2nd level, together with the master bedroom, it's ensuite bath - and the stairs leading to the recently renovated widow's walk.
This area has been upgraded, with new railings and paving and is a safe vantage point from which to gain a magnificent view of the town in one direction, and the lighthouse in the other.
The jewel in the crown, as it were, for The Crow's Nest is the cantilever observation platform, which has it's footing and the first of the stair flights at the rear of the garage.
This rises to an observation deck well above third storey level and gives a clear 360 degree field of view for anyone using the telescope mounted there. For those brave souls not fazed by open heights, or for those who simply need to take a rest after the climb . . . there are a couple of outdoor chairs here for that purpose.
