Just time to throw something completely new into the mix!
The Sims 3 has a Party Planner for your Sims! When a Sim uses a phone to throw a party the Party Planner screen pops up. Here you can choose which kind of party it should be (currently just House Party or Birthday Party), the day and time the party should start and the dress code. You can opt to have all your sims arrive in casual clothing, formalwear or swimwear. Then you just add the friends you want to attend in the invite list.
Of course not all guests will turn up but later in the game you can acquire the status of "Legendary Host", guaranteeing that all of your invites will be gratefully accepted with attendance guaranteed.

That's pretty cool! Of course in TS2 we just had to hit "Throw Party" and hope for the best! LOL. Also, I put this in an earlier message, but since it's sorta outdated and was sorta far down the line...Is TS3 going to be available on Steam? If so, when? Thank you for everything!

Just out of curiosity........how much can you make a TS3 Sim look like a TS2 Sim?
I like a lot of the THINGS you can do.......but I don't like the way they look. 
When I saw TS2 Sims while playing TS1 I was very excited.......not so much this time around. 
Oh this is sweet! I wonder if that mean we at some point will be able to host costume parties, now that we have dress codes - untill then PJ-parties will do the trick for me
Cool! I never throw parties in The Sims 2, but I will most certainly do so in TS3. The new party features sound great!

I have some wishes. With all the mountains in the game why not have some with snow on them, a Santa village where our sims could go and spend the night, have Christmas, go on slay rides with reindeer, make snow angels and not freeze. And how about a ski resort. With a ski lift. The sims could learn how to sky or go snowboarding. .........And some wildlife.....A working farm with animals. Horse drawn wagons. Chickens that lay eggs. And for my sister that has cancer and lives for sims- A washer and dryer, A clothes line, A stroller and buggy for the little ones to be taken for a walk. And please keep the changing table.
Things I forgot, A state fair or amusement park. More toys for the little ones. A pre teen in the life span. Longer days and nights so we have more time for all the fun stuff that's been added to Ts3. And I'm a big Charmed fan so please add the witches. And as a reward immorality. Clothes and hair from different era's 1700's, 1800's, 1920's my favorite, 1950's I also love, 1970's for my hippies. Real eyes. Stores to shop in. I would also like to pre make some of my children as well as adopted ones, and be able to add them one or more at a time with mom and dad later in the game. This would be great for those of us that make real life families. I would also like to see OFB and Freetime for TS3.
Party planer is great idea. My sims are always having disaster parties...
