Subscription Paid but Having Problems
If you just have paid for a subscription, but still get the symbol seen below for subscriber items, there are a few possible explanations.
- Make sure to check your top bar under your name in the drop down menu to see if the system has identified that you have subscription days.
It will say "Renew Subscription" and have the days next to it.
- If you have no subscriber days, your subscription has not gone through yet. It may take a little while. Especially if paid by Paypal E-Check.
- If it says you have subscriber days at the top and you still get the lock icon on all subscriber downloads, then it might be necessary to log out and then log back in to the site.
- Do you get the lock symbol for subscriber items on all pages, or is it just on a few? If it's only on a few, then it's probably because you had browsed those pages before buying the subscription, and they are thereby cached in your browser.
If this is still not working please Contact TSR support.
How to Cancel a Subscription
The Sims Resource does not refund already started payment periods. If you selected the 2 month subscription, your subscription will be automatically renewed 5 times (for a total of 6 installments).
Here are the steps required to cancel a subscription:
Note: This is only necessary for a 2 month subscription. 6 and 12 month subscriptions do not automatically renew.
- Click on the following link: https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_subscr-find&alias=[email protected]
- Log in if prompted.
- Click on the "Details" link next to the subscription you wish to cancel (this is the blue text link in the list of results). You will be taken to a Transaction Details page from which you may cancel the subscription.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page. There you will see a button called "Cancel subscription" - click this button and then confirm the cancelation on the next page. Now your subscription is canceled.
If there is no such button it means that the subscription is no longer active, it has either already been canceled or it has reached its end of term.
Canceling your subscription will immediately stop all future scheduled payments for this subscription.
TSR Gift Certificates
The TSR Subscription Gift Certificate can be bought in the TSR Shop at http://www.thesimsresource.com/shop. When you buy it, you will get a unique one-time code that can be used at a later time to activate (or extend) a subscription on TSR. You will also get the option to print the certificate in either a general or a Christmas theme (more themes will follow).
The Gift Certificate is available as a 6 or 12 month subscription gift.

I have not received a verification from TSR after I registered for an account.
Although the verification e-mail is sent out from the TSR servers instantly, it might still take some time before it lands in your inbox. Normally you should get it within a few minutes though.
You might also want to check you spam folder, it might have ended up there.
If you still haven't received the verification e-mail after several hours, please contact TSR Support.
Is TSR Safe to use?
TSR checks all the uploaded files for viruses, and yes... you can be safe that you won't get viruses from downloading from TSR.
When it comes to ads, those are run from an ad network, and they are assuring us that they do everything they can to make sure the ads they provide us don't include malware/spyware.
No matter of all TSR's efforts in keeping TSR safe, browsing the Internet does always involve the risk of having your computer infected. So we strongly recommend you having an up-to-date security package installed.
TSR uses VeriSign for all Registration and Subscriptions transactions to insure your personal information is safe.
There is no way to get your password back as we do not store it in plain text. If you have lost your password you can Reset your lost TSR password and have it emailed to the address that is registered for your account.
Please note that you need to have a working email address registered for this process to work, if you don't receive the email with instructions for resetting the password you should contact support.
Passwords are case-sensitive, and you login using your e-mail address (not username) together with the password.

Another common problem is that you may have activated caps lock by mistake, the login is case sensitive.
The login system on TSR relies on cookies to work. However, it might happen sometime that the cookies needed for you to be identified as logged in when browsing the site works, while something is missing when you try to actually download anything. We have seen that this can happen if your browsers has a lot of tracking cookies coming from the ads. Many anti-spyware programs can find and remove them all, but the best ones can.
TSR recommend SUPERAntiSpyware, which is among the best anti-spyware solutions on the market. And it is available in a free version.
You can sign in to TSR using facebook as an option to log in using a TSR email and password. This works for both existing accounts and for new members that don't already have a TSR account. The first time you sign in using facebook you will come to page that ask you if you want to link to an existing account or if you would like to create a new account.
If you create a new account then this new account will be used for any future facebook logins, and this will be the only way to log in since the regular TSR email and password method wont work for that account.
If you alreay have an existing account and created a new account by misstake you can contact support and we will link your facebook login to the existing account.
Changing your Password

Changing your User Name
We discourage username changes as they can confuse other users that might have you bookmarked or have posted in your guestbook etc.
If you really want to change your username you can send your preferred usernames to us, we need at least 2 usernames to choose from in case one of them is taken. Submit your request via the TSR Support System. If the name change is reasonable it may be considered.
Removing your TSR Account completely
You cannot remove your TSR account yourself. You must contact TSR support and we will remove it for you. If you have submitted things to TSR and wish those to be removed as well, you must contact Submission Support. Removal of uploads is determined on a case by case basis.
