The prima guides are available from most gaming stores, amazon or play.com. Play is a pretty good site and has free shipping to the UK. I know thwy ship Internationally, just to the USA though i think. Amazon is worldwide, but you pay for shipping. You can also get these guides on Ebay (new or used as a book) or a download for your Pc. I would personally recommend buying the actual books as you can refer to them easily whilst playing your game. Plus if your Sims mad like me, the books are nice to have as part of your collection. They provide a step by step guide to everything from game play, tips, cheats, build modes, everything basically! paterdave2 - This is designed for Apartments so no, the cheats are different when creating a Hotel. You do use the same zoning lot cheat however. For a hotel you would need to create your hotel on a residential lot and then change it using ChangeLotZoning Hotel

Not a terribly informative tutorial, unfortunately, and a bit misleading. It tells you to decorate and furnish your apartments "as if someone lives there," but the fact is that if when you move a Sim in, unless you use the testingcheatsenabled true cheat and then shift-click on the apartment door to rent it furnished, all your hard work will be for nothing -- the Sims will have an empty apartment with only the "essentials" mentioned in the tutorial. Plus, the medicine cabinets disappear, as does the garbage chute which certainly qualifies as part of the building. EA needs to address these issues, which we builders have been struggling to understand and overcome since the EP came out.

Gina, the furniture disappearing is intended. Your Sim isn't supposed to have a furnished apartment without using the boolprop cheat. If, however, you furnish an apartment which an NPC Sim rents and you visit them, all the furniture will reappear.

I know the disappearing furniture is intended, Cadiva. My point is that the option to rent furnished or not should have been included in the apartment door menu as an option without requiring players to use the testingcheatsenabled cheat. A grievous oversight on EA's part, IMHO.

ok i am a bit confused why does what is supposed to be an acual feature of the expansion pack have to be enabled as a cheat. i bought the expansion through the ea store which by the way is an excellent delivery method. i hope a patch comes that amends having to use a key feature as a cheat

I do ok for the general apartment. What I don't understand is the driveways. I totaly agree with MoonlitMaiden, Its a nuisance to have to use a command to move your sims in, it does work but its a shock at first when your furniture is invisible. How will this work for uploading the lots, will every one that downloads have to do this. Also does anyone know when simpe will upgrade for AL, im not able to recolour just now.
