Lisan saying goodbye to Yukin was the worse thing to him. It had been years since he had last seen her. And to know that they were back, in the same town, made him happy and anxious. But no matter what he was still married and she wanted nothing to do with him.
Lisan worked out often to help keep her minds off things. Long jogs around town cleared her thoughts. This time she was on her way to Beautiful Gym. Surely she would get some piece of mind while there. She was working out in the private room when she heard footsteps come up the stairs. She looked at the mirror and saw Yukin's reflection looking back at her.
Lisan: What are you doing here? Yukin: I came to see you.
Lisan: You've been following me?
Yukin: No, your work told me you'd be here.
Lisan: Remind me to fire Diana. Yukin: Seriously Lisan. You can't keep avoiding me. This is a small town you know.
Lisan: I know. I just needed time to myself. What I did I cannot forgive myself. I feel terrible.
Yukin hung his head. he felt a little of guilt and a little of embarrassment that he did not have those same feelings. He didn't think the night they spent together was terrible. Yukin: Well can we at least talk?
Lisan: That's what got us in trouble the last time.
Yukin: Nothing like that. I just want to sit and talk to you.
Lisan: I don't know Yukin. I need some time to think about it.
She began to walk away.
Yukin: You need to think about whether to talk to me?
Lisan: Yes. I do.
Yukin: Can I at least call you?
She kept walking down the stairs. So much for easy work out. They agreed to meet at the cafe from her home. He brought her flowers.
Yukin: I remember these being your favorite.
Lisan: They still are. At dinner the two of them sat. At first trying to make small talk again as they had done days before. Yukin would try a joke to break the silence. It was an uneasy silence at times. Yukin: Well I'm just going to come right out and say it. I know you may not want anything to do with me but I want to be apart of Lia's life. I missed almost two years to be there for her.
Lisan: Yukin....I
Yukin: You can't expect me to just pretend she doesn't exist. We live in the same town.
Lisan: Yukin....I know....I understand.
Yukin: You do.
Lisan: I don't want her to be without you either. But how are we going to do this and keep your marriage together. Yukin often looked at his son.
Yukin: I am sorry son. Sorry I don't love your mother as a husband should. Sorry I brought you into this world and not giving you something better than what you have now.
Yukin was torn. He would drive on the other side of town and visit his daughter Lia. Each time he spent more with the little girl made it harder for him to leave. When he visited her, she would often reach out for him where he would cuddle her. He knew that he couldn't keep up the charade for long. So he mustered up the courage to tell Kima. He wanted to tell her about everything. About Lisan and Lia and how he didn't want to be married anymore. Yukin: I don't know how to tell you this, so I am just going to come out and say it. Kima you are wonderful. And you have been a great wife to me. That's why I feel I owe you the respect to tell you that....that Yuyin is not my only child.
Kima's eyes widened. Yukin: I didn't know it but before I left for China, Lisan was pregnant. We have a daughter named Lia. I've known about it for a few weeks now. But I didn't know how to tell you. Kima's heart sunk. She thought she was going to scream from the pain in her chest.
Yukin: I wanted to tell you. I did.
Kima's head was spinning. She had no idea that this is what he's been keeping from her.
Kima: Lisan?
Yukin: Yes.
Kima: So what does this mean?
Yukin: I'm going to take care of my daughter.
Kima: And Lisan?
Yukin was about to tell her but he stopped. The look on her face was terrible. He couldn't stand to hurt her anymore. But not saying anything made it worse.
Kima: Leave me. Yukin: Kima-
Kima: Leave me! I can't look at you right now.
Yukin began to walked out of the room.
Kima fell to the floor crying. For the days following Kima was in a deep state of depression. She cried for days. She knew she didn't have the perfect family but she had not realized everything that was going on behind her back. She went to her family for support, hoping they would give her advice. She had thought about what her mother-in-law Liyu told her.
Liyu: Our husbands will have girls to fulfilled their bedroom needs from time to time. But as first wife, it is your duty to keep the home.
But she knew Lisan was someone different. She wasn't just some fling. As promised, Yukin spent time with both households. He would drive to the other side of town to spend time with Lia. Sometimes, Lisan would join them. He took care of his children. But Kima knew that it would only be time before Lisan got in the way of her marriage.

I feel sorry for these two women, catched in a bad situation by Yukin's lacking of spine and his parents manipulativiness.
