- The Beauty and the Tragedy -

A new story. I won't say anything about the plot, just read. I hope you like it, guys. :D
"Okay class, I'm sick and tired of this! When I ask y'all to be quiet, ya'll are supposed to shut your mouths. And what do all of you do? You keep on talking like I don't exist. So that's it. Ya'll will trade places. Did I made myself clear?" "What? Is she being serious?" asked the blonde girl named Stephanie.

"I guess so.." answered Randy who sat next to Stephanie.
"Ugh.. why are we always the victim of someone else's stupidity? We were quiet all the time." Lynsea took off her glasses, rubbed her eyes, and took them on again.

"I know, right. I hate this. I don't want to sit next to Stephanie or her zombies." Maureen laughed.

Lynsea laughed too, but on the inside she was dying.

Lynsea and Maureen were never the popular kids. They were always the 'girls next door', although Maureen was very social. But they hadn't much friends, just each other.
After they traded places Lynsea had to sit next to Randy. Behind them were Lou, Randy's best friend, and Jessica, Stephanie's best friend. Maureen was sitting on the other side of the classroom. "I hate these new places. This sucks," said Randy.

"Oh.." was all that Lynsea could say.
I don't like these places too. You suck.. was Lynsea thinking. "What is she thinking? She can't steal my boyfriend.. that.." Stephanie said angrily.

"Oh shut up, Stephanie. Randy isn't your boyfriend. And besides, Lynsea would never date Randy. Never." Maureen shook her head and looked at Lynsea. Never.
"Okay class, just do something for yourself. Go read a book or finish your essay," the teacher said.

Ugh, finally, was Lynsea thinking. She stood up and walked towards the bookcase. It's too noisy here. I'll just go to the study area.
... I never liked school. But this really sucks. I don't want to sit next to Macho Man. I want to sit next to my best friend.

Lynsea felt someone's breath in her neck.
It was Maureen. "How's it going?"

"I don't know. Randy said he hated the new places. And that it sucked. Does that mean I suck too?"

"Haha, no, you silly. He is just as disappointed as you are. We all don't like the new places, but that doesn't mean you suck. Come here," said Maureen and hugged Lynsea.

Maureen knew how low Lynsea her self-esteem was, and this situation reduced it more.
Suddenly the woman from the study area came and interrupted them.

"Girls, be quiet. You'll study here or you'll go. The choice is up to you." She left.

The girls laughed. "Well, I'm going to my locker. I'll see you later!" said Lynsea and went downstairs.
Once she was downstairs she heard Lou, Stephanie and Jessica talking. It wasn't very interesting so she stopped listening to them. And then Randy appeared next to her. Oh yeah, that's right. His locker is next to mine. How could I forget ...

She tried to ignore him, like she always did. They never spoke to each other.
Randy turned around. "Oh, hi Lynsea. I didn't know your locker was next to mine. Silly of me!" Randy laughed.

Yeah.. it's been next to yours the whole year. "Oh, silly you." She laughed. Nervous laughter.
"My apologies. I usually don't pay much attention .. " Randy smiled.

"Well, that's okay. Neither do I." She cracked a smile.
"Hey, Steph, what's up with Randy and Lynsea? They seem to get along very well with each other," Jessica whispered.

"I know, I know. Watch me as I do my thing, Jess."

Stephanie walked towards Randy and Lynsea.
"Oh Randy, I didn't know you were here. Long time no see, hun!" said Stephanie.

"I was here the whole time, Stephanie. I even saw you winking at me." Randy looked at Lynsea. She looked away.

"Okay, I was lying. So what.."
"Just give me a hug, Randy. I've missed you."

Stephanie giggled and grabbed Randy's back. She hugged him very thight.
"Stop it, Stephanie." Randy pushed her off.

"I know you like it," said Stephanie and giggled again.

"No, I don't." He looked into her blue eyes.

O my gosh, why did I had to see this? This is so awkard.. was Lynsea thinking.

"Hey guys, I'll leave you two alone." Lynsea was just about to leave the two when Stephanie grabbed her arm.
"Yeah, you better leave, loser. By the way, where'd you get your shoes? Are you going to climb the mountains?" Stephanie laughed.

Lynsea ran away.

"What's that good for, Stephanie? Why did you do that? Look how upset she is now. You're so mean." Randy walked away.
*Few hours later, when Lynsea went home*

"Mama, I'm home," Lynsea yelled.
Lynsea walked to the living room, where her mother was seated.

"Hello, sweety. What's wrong? I can see in your face something's going wrong."
Her mother made a gesture to Lynsea that she had to sit next to her.
Lynsea took place next to her mother.

"Well, I was talking to the boy who's locker is next to mine. He's also seated next to me in class. And suddenly Stephanie came, telling me I should better leave .. and I was like .. Oh god, I don't even know anymore."
"Oh sweety, you used to get along very well with her when you were younger. Why don't you just ignore her?"

"Mam, I wasn't even talking to her. She just started to yell at me. I don't even know why."

"Hmm.. well, why don't you talk to her?" her mother asked.
"Sure mam, and then I'll go shopping with her, drink some tea and bake cookies with her. You're the worst therapist ever." Lynsea rolled with her eyes.

"I'm just trying to help, sweety. Why don't you go to your bedroom, make some homework and try not to think about it, okay?" asked her mother.

Lynsea nodded and went upstairs to her bedroom.
Lynsea arrived upstairs at her bedroom. She walked towards her mirror. Suddenly Lynsea thought about Randy.

Oh no, Lynsea. Don't even think about him. You're nothing compared to Stephanie, Lynsea. She is much prettier than you are. Damn, look at yourself. You're not even good looking. Why would he even want to talk to you? Lynsea spoke to herself.

After her talk to herself she made some homework and listened to the radio. She put on her pajamas and laid herself on her bed.
What will happen tomorrow? I don't even want to think about it.. But why was Stephanie yelling and bitching at me? I didn't do anything wrong.

Suddenly her mother came in.
"Oh, you're not sleeping yet. Good. Listen to me, sweetheart. Just ignore her, okay? I know how much you hate to hear it. I know how much you hate her and I know how much you hate the people who are picking on you. Stay strong, sweety. I know you can do it ... Wait, are you even listening to me?"

"No, mam. I hear this preach almost every day. You know I can't stand up for myself. I'm a big coward."

"That's not true. You're a sweet girl with a golden heart. Just don't think about it and catch some sleep, sweety."
"Alright, mam. Will you switch off the lights?" Lynsea asked and crawled under her blanket.

"Sure, sweety. Sweet dreams."
Lynsea's mother switched off the lights and went to her own bedroom.

I hope she'll be fine tomorrow, thought her mother.
