Description
[Just as a point of interest, the title 'Majorelle Blue' derives from the colour of the same name, 'invented' by the French painter, Jacques Majorelle [1886-1962], for decoratng his house/studio and garden in Marrakesh, some time in the 1950s..

He was so keen to 'keep dibs' on the colour, that he trademarked it. Here is a link if anyone is interested in Majorelle, the painter -
www.articlesandtexticles.co.uk/2006/10/25/painters-i-should-have-known-about-007-jacques-majorelle/]

Majorelle Blue [this one] is a gracious home, in an almost Greek Revival style that comes close to American Ante-Bellum in some respects. It is 3 storeys of fine living for those blessed with pockets deep enough to secure it.

The internal laoyout is simple. Exercise and entertainment of a 'loud' nature is confined to the top floor where the 'dance hall' and the games room hold sway.

The mid level is devoted to more sedentary use . . the master suite which includes a study and ensuite bath - and a further 3 spacious bedrooms sharing 2 bathrooms.

The living room downstairs is open plan, but separated from the entry by a decorative divider. The TV is here, as is a sitting/conversation area and a study corner; a rear door gives on to a covered porch containing BBQ, meals seating and a pair of loungers. Kitchen and diningroom, located off the end of the livingroom, are also open-plan, with glass walls and a snack bar as their divider. Double glass doors open on to the fountain 'wing'. The pool 'wing' is accessed via the reading room, found adjacent to the elegant circular stair.

The main family bathroom is a feature. It is actually a combination of spaces within a defined use area. Entry to the powder room [toilet, bidet, 2 urinals and 2 handbasins] is off the entry; through an arch then, to the shower and laundry; through a second arch to the bath, and the exit back into the livingroom.

Majorelle Blue has a roofed colonnade either side, forming wings. One is home to a small pool with seating and a 'dry' bar . . the other has a pretty fountain.

Landscaping is comprised of plantings of hydrangea, lavender and old-fashioned white daisies; and decorated with a pair of 'rock pools' . . . small artificial ponds with rock features and a dome fountain. Seating is provided here as well, the better to enjoy the shade of the sweetly scented magnolias that grace the front corners of the property.

Creator Notes
Majorelle Blue was created on and for the lot at 250 Redwood Parkway, SV and requires only a flat 40x30 lot. It should be noted that, in and of itself, this lot is not quite flat.
I came upon the reference to the painter, when I was trying to identify the gorgeous colour of the Pralinesims' roof I had chosen for this lot..
