I've tried Sims 3 and:

I hate it! I'm going back to Sims 2 exclusively.
I love it! I'm uninstalling Sims 2, I'll never go back.
I like both! I'll go back and forth, depending on my mood.

I haven't tried Sims 3 and:

I don't intend to. I've invested too much time building my Sims 2 world and collecting custom content.
I don't intend to. The feedback from the community is so negative for the most part.
I'm waiting for all the bugs to be fixed, and for new custom content to become available. Then I'll try it.
I can't afford it yet/my computer specs are too low, but I am curious. I'll check it out eventually.
