Cultural Origin of the skin: Odissi is a classical Dance form of Temple origins from Orissa in India. There are many dance forms but Odissi is the oldest form. Odissi dancers do not wear the Indian saree, but a pleated blouse (Thavani), pleated skirt (Pallu) and silk leggings. The skin here shows an actual Odissi dress of renown dancer Chitri Shankar, gold and maroon Thavani and Pallu over silk purple silk mid-calf leggings.
