The ninth in my series of Katrina Cottages inspired by the collaboration between Habitat for Humanity and Lowe’s. Each cottage in my series, Katrina Cottages, is based upon one of the Lowe’s floorplans and is created using MAXIS ONLY CONTENT. Each cottage is partially furnished with bathroom and kitchen fixtures, a small garden plot with compost bin, and a driveway.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, thousands of people were left without homes. Over the following year, Lowe’s and Habitat for Humanity worked together to design simple, attractive, and cost effective housing for those displaced by the hurricane. These are the houseplans that Habitat for Humanity are using to build entire cottage communities and Lowe’s is now selling them to the public (part of the proceeds go to Habitat for Humanity). 203 Katrina Cottage is based upon Lowe’s KC 888 plan with the optional bedroom and is priced at $17, 842. The cottage includes 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, and an open dining/living room plan. The cottage also boasts a lovely covered porch, paved driveway, garden plot with compost bin, and landscaping.
