Simsland is an interactive 3D visualization of The Sims. A set of paper dolls represents Sims characters which viewers are invited to use in the game environment.

The Sims doesn't have many paranormal or frightening aspects, so I chose to bring one of my drawings to life in the form of a detailed look into this new character. Maybe he would sell poison berries to the children in between pillages.

The Sims model not only provides a timeline of development but the potential to bring Sim citizens to life through implied social critique. As with all created environments, questions of player and simulated, imagined and actual, are at stake.
