Feeling Adventurous

So, I got this idea in my head about 3 o'clock this morning that maybe, just maybe I can do clothes. I really want to do clothes. As much as I love interior design, I love fashion even more. Which is sooo weird because I am totally a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl. I might lose the tee for a blouse once in a while but unless I'm going to church or a wedding I ain't ditching my jeans for a skirt, and dresses is a dirty word in my book. If I could have I would have wore a white Channel suit for my wedding day but my husband vetoes me cause he said he wasn't marrying a lesbian. Whatever, it would have been cute. Not to mention I would probly have kept the suit, unlike my husband. Anyway, so yeah, I'm gonna attempt a clothing item. Something simple like a bathing suit or simple top. We'll see.

I do have a little mini set I just uploaded. It's pending approval. I'm pretty proud of it. It's only 3 items, but I spent a lot of time getting the details just right. So I hope everyone likes it. The pic on the left in my 3 pc desk set and the pick on the right is the inspiration. Enjoy and happy simming.

Computer Crashed

My computer crashed. My computer dude took it and kept it for two days and finally decided that the hard drive crashed, and needed to be replaced. He was able to save a few things I asked him to, but my game files weren't on that list.

I do apologize, but the cookie crumbled unfortunately for the Andretti's.

I've pulled them from certain death many, many times...it's like they've been doomed from the start.

I will likely start another story...maybe not a legacy, but I will definitely have more. I'll be sure to notify you guys where it is, because the story submissions here are still borked for me after all these months. I give up.

Thanks...all of you, for the support...encouragement...and I do sincerely apologize. I will definitely miss them...

Thoughts on story and photo trolling.

Thoughts that have circulating in my pea brain for a bit:

I think we can all agree that the ratings trolling is a bit obnoxious.  You post a screenshot that you just love from your game.  You post a story that you worked hard on and it has significance to you.  Things go on swimmingly, you're getting good feedback ... and whammo!  Three hours later your rating has plummeted from the high 4s to the low 3s.  Or, if you're especially unlucky, the high 2s.  In every case when this has happened to me, it only takes me a few seconds to look around at the surrounding postings to realize that everyone took a hit along with me; a troll is on the site, and most likely it's not personal.  Still stings, though.  People have stopped contributing to the site over it.

Why do people do this?  Dunno for sure, but I've heard a few reasons over the years. 

1. The troller is bored and just feels like being spiteful. (I had an ex who was a member of a few ratings site for this specific reason; he went after highly-ranked photos specifically to downgrade them.) 
2. The troller is trying to "average" the ratings.  (Usually this seems to happen in reverse; people upgrade because they feel sorry to see such a low rating.  Every now and then someone admits that they don't like seeing someone with such high ratings and they need to knock it down a little.)
3. The troller is not actually trolling; they are used to a system where "1" is high and "5" is low, so they think they're doing it correctly.  (I remember when this happened to an FA who was renowned for her excellent work.  We all felt bad for her, but at the same time it was funny in a "shake-your-head" way.)

The problem was resolved as far as submissions go by removing the star rating, and that may be a viable solution for screenshots and stories as well.  Personally, though, I'd rather keep the rating systems on stories, flaws and all.  It may be because I've been writing for the vast majority of my life and I'm used to feedback that isn't always kind or even constructive.  It may be because I'm not on Facebook and am not in the habit of just "liking" random stuff.  The saying "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all" might be suitable for photographs, but it doesn't work for a writer.  If a writer doesn't receive constructive criticism on their work, they'll still be writing in the same manner at 40 that they did when they were 18.  Trust me, that's not a pretty sight. 

Despite its potential and history of abuse, I find that the ratings are usually a good indicator that I will enjoy reading the story.  I've also noticed that stories unfairly knocked down by trolling usually float up again because the readership knows a good one when they see it, spitefulness be damned.  This is not a universal truth, of course, but I've found it to be so in most cases.

But naturally I want to know what you think. :)

My First Mesh

Hi everyone!  It's been a while since my last post as I've been busy meshing away.  My first set is finally ready and available for whoever would like to have a new bedroom added in their houses.  I'm presently working on adding more bits to this bedroom set which can be added to the present room in the future.  I hope you will be satisfied with what I've created so far and look forward to hearing your comments :)  Bye for now :wub:

Farmhouse Dining Set, April 10th

The Farmhouse Dining Set is finished and scheduled for publication on April 10, 2011. It's a set of sturdy farmhouse dining furniture and detailed decorative objects. The set includes a 3-tile dining table, cabinet, and sideboard, dining chair, place setting, coffeepot, vase of sunflowers and several other small decorative items. It's the perfect set for casual family meals.

My favorite objects of the set is the decorative rooster cookie jar, I want one in RL!

I have been playing sims for quite a while now and for the longest time it was always my "off" game.I was a hard core World of Warcrafter and when i would get bored waiting for the next big patch i would move on to play sims for a bit.I would build the odd house and make my sims baby machines,never downloaded any custom content cause i didnt know how,lol.But since i discovered the beauty of this stuff out there and saw how anybody could create and share their work(thanks TSR for making this possible) i was hell bent on learning how to do this stuff too.Now that i started uploading my creations here, i have cancled my WoW subsciption!LOL!I have lost all interest in playing it.Although im still  a "noob" here and at building lots,iam learning many things,and gaining alot of insight and inspiration just by seeing what others are creating,and seeing the outcome and reaction of the downloaders.So to sum it up,i dont miss WoW,not really,only the part when i get yelled at for letting the raid die cause im eating chips when i should be healing!!

all i can say is wow

haven't been to TSR since i got my internet back up and running a few weeks ago..and i finally get here to find it majorly updated (which is a good thing) and to find that all my random blogs are gone. oh well i  can always make more..anywhooooooooooo i'm on sims again and i'm almost 80% complete on my entire town being full of the same bloodline that i first started out with 8 months ago with Adam Zanger. ironic tho, he had one alien birth which resulted in another grandchild born as an alien..and since then i have seen no more alien skins, but the facial features are so prominent and ugly i have to grab townies and uni students to add to the gene pool to try to get rid of that horrid sunk cheek and flat nose syndrome. most of the families are on 5th generation, with the exception of the primary Zanger household which is on 7th generation.

i'll post some photos of what's been going on.

Expansion Pack Idea's I would like to see: one that makes your Sims have a normal length pregnancy of nine months and teen can get pregnant and married if they have to. A pets one. a different seasons like we have winter, spring, fall, and summer. a normal calendar one with months and all the holidays people celebrate.But that could go with the Seasons they would be good together

Every once in a while, a website comes into your life, and you just become addicted to it. The Sims Resource is just such a site for me. I didn't subscribe for a long time after becoming a member here, but then I finally did, and boy did that make me a fan of this place!! I fell head over heels for this grand website. In fact, I just renewed, even though I still had 93 days left on my current subscription, that's how much I love it here. No where else on the web have I found a site with so much rich, grand content as is availalbe here. It's laid out logically, and stuff is easy to download. And the content!! WOW!! It's truly the reason that I signed up for another 6 months. So Kudos to you guys for making this a site worth hanging out on!

New ideas and work

Well I now have working versions of my industrial garage door but still got gaps in mesh so don't want to post till its right. Also have working full glass door garage i would like the glass recolourable but if i cant work that out i'll just make some varations.(ideas for glass colours would be helpfull.) I have standard ea glass and smoked just now but thinking maybe blue, red, green maybe mirrored. 

Not only been working on garage doors been designing new glass stair rails and a stealth garage door(looks like a window opens like a garage door :)) Also a garage with an arched frame and a new plan to modify the electric gate (from late night) into an old style barn door garage :)) wish me luck Hope to post sum new stuff soon but i want them are perfect as i can get before i upload

Well i got problems now milkshape3D has jsut started giving error codes and not loading file right :( so not happy!!  cant do any work on my mesh's now

Some Updates �

Hi All! Okay, so to start off this entry, I would just like to state some updates on upcoming items etc. :) First of all, I am hoping to release some more painting and pattern sets, preferably in a Japanese/Chinese/Typically Asian style. In fact, you might be seeing a lot more items from me that are Asian-based, as I am currently working on an asian-based world, which is actually my slightly-editted version of Pokari City from Ether Saga, an online MMORPG that I very much like playing ;). I was really interested in the Architectual aspect of the city, so I thought that I would have a go at creating is myself! So far it is only in the production stages, but I have finished making the base of the world. I just need to add lots and some more details now to make it look a little more realistic. :)

I will update the blog with images of the world when I personally think that it should be shared. At the moment, I think I would be a little bit embarassed as it really doesn't look that good :P Just some mountains and trees. Nothing special. :)

At the end of this week, I will be finished school for a 2 week Easter Holiday! I will therefore have plenty of time to make and upload some brand new Sims 3 items for you all to see! :) I am moving off Sims 2 now, but I will upload a few little things for Sims 2. Just a few, like some patterns etc. :)

I hope that you all will like me uploading some more Asian inspired things, but if you would rather see something else, please do not hesitate to let me know and I'll see if I can upload some other things that aren't Asian based for you. :)

so now my new routine every morning is to go threw all the new stuff here at TSR.Iam so im impressed by all the artists here! There is so much talent,my favorite is looking threw all the lots,iam always so amazed by the creativity and new ideas being put out each and every day.I just wanted to say thank you to each and every one of you who put in the time and effort to upload all the beautiful items i see here.I love you TSR,Thank you!!

Happy (belated) birthday the Garden family!

It's been a week since we passed March 28 2011, the official anniversary of the Garden story. What a long way this story, and the family, have come! Who would've thought that my little experiment with writing a storytelling legacy would grow to this extent. 48 chapters already, and we're at the dawn of sixth generation, the F generation... Only 21 more to go!

At this point I would like to thank all my readers, your comments make the writing even more fun, this story wouldn't have come this far without your support! Also, I would like to thank my mother for the help with writing and screenshots, after all, the Gardens wouldn't be here without her, being my mother's sim family.

Credit goes also to the Sims Design Avenue for the Galaad world that has offered a great home for Cherry and her descendants.

It has been a great ride, I hope to get you many more chapters of this crazy family :)

Site Problems

I don't know if any of you have noticed there is so much negative energy going around the earth right now! UGH! Well my site got HACKED! again! This time I was not able to recover. They cancelled my premium service, deleted all my content, and downgraded my site to html. Webs.com does not offer backups to that, and the report abuse if your site was hacked feature is a total crock of Poo Poo! They gave me a long form letter saying if you think your site was hacked, it was probably this, and you should do this, blah, blah, blah! They left me another email to contact, so I did, the webs billing team. They said that they wanted me to prove that I owned the site and the premium service, well I couldn't answer 1 question right away, so they closed my case. So, anyway, long story short, I'm through with webs forever. I've been really busy with work, and my brother got me hooked on Dragon age 2 >< So I havent been working on any houses the past few weeks. But Finally I started a new one! I'm almost done with it, The garden and the first floor are done, Just need to work on the bedrooms >< (I hate doing bedrooms) Should be done with it soon. hope you guys like it.

Multi colored glass

So, I ran accross this really cool vase while looking for inspiration on something to create, but I had no idea about how to go about making this vase. I was one of those glass vases with streaks of color like blended in the glass. I don't think I am descibing it very well. Anyway, I posted a pic on the forum hoping someone could tell me how to make it.

I didn't get any responses. I thought maybe it wasn't possible although that seemed silly to me, but maybe no one has thought about doing anything like that before but that seems even siller. I mean there are easily thousands of creators in the sim community and not one person has thought about doing multi colored glass. Really. Well either way I never got a response. No big deal.

Yesterday i was playing around with an idea I had for a piece of modern table decor. I'm making a modern laundry room set for my sister, and I decided to clone my vase with lemons from my studio living dinette set (which I am sorry to say is still not uploaded, I'm waiting for them to figure out the filestorage situation before I upload any more sets to tsr, although I do have a few individual items I am working on.) Anyway, so I closed this vase which, btw was cloned from Nickedemia's  Vase with oranges. i didn't use any of her original mesh but i did you her defuse map. I just changed the color from orang to yellow.

Well I was playing with this same mesh yesterday. I had an idea to make a glass bowl with a few multi-colored balls as a modern abstract piece of table art. It's not really  my style but I knew my sister would like. (on ana unrelated topic, my sister just found out she was pregnant which is really good knews because she is 29 and she has been with her boyfriend for almost 5 year and she hadn't had so much as a scare, so yeah I'm gonna be an auntie.) Anyway back to the point so I was playing with the diffuse map for the balls, it has a transparent alpha layer and I created this kind of funky multi colored disign using the smudgey finger. I though it was cool. i don't rember what made me decide to make the white transparent but I did so i basically had the streaked color over a transparent layer and when I loaded it back in to workshop, low and behold I had what looked like multi  colored glass but it wasn't a glass material it was the basic Phong material with a partlu transparent diffuse map. So I had to play with the tiling and I had to play with the actual image to make it seamless becasue at first you could clearly see where the image split and it looked crazy. I ended up with this. This isn't my finished product I just througha quick mesh together to show you what i was trying to accomplish. You can see between the color is transparent and you cna make it completey clear or kind of milky using various tools. I use paint.net mostly and I 've been experimenting with transperancy for a while.

Anyway I figured this out completely on accident, but I will be uploading a vase with a similar texture soon, I just wnat to practice the technique a little more because It's a little sloppy looking.

Farmhouse Dining Set, Coming Soon!

I just uploaded a gallery of pictures for my upcoming set, Farmhouse Dining Set! The set has approximately 11-12 pieces. I'm still working on a bowl of decorative apples for the set, which is giving me fits! But, all the others pieces for the set are complete and I just finished taking my last preview screenshot! So, while my free time is still very limited I hope to publish the set soon!

My mom's ill-health is still a major concern for my family. Although I find creating for Sims is a great way to escape for a few hours! Thank everyone, for your support, compliments, and many well-wishes!

Sorry for the delay!

First, thank you to everyone who reads these and bookmarks me as an artist, even though I'm nothing of the sort.  It encourages and inspires me to continue developing the lives of my Sims and creating their backstories, documenting their current lives, and plot the expected and unexpected for their futures.

It's been a while since I wrote a blog piece, as I've been getting comfortable (more and more) with Sims 2.  Fortunately I have all the expansion and stuff packs, so I can do a lot with my Sims.  I also have to thank everyone in the Forums for their advice and help as I run into difficulties with Sims 2.  Without their patient assistance I'd still be stuck with basic families and not know what to do with them.

I'm in the process now of recreating my Sims 1 families...really, after all the effort I put into them and all the stories I told about them, did you think I was just going to forget about them?  I now have an Old Town neighborhood set up in my game where I am slowly recreating the families.  Where before in Sims 1 I couldn't do anything about family connections except what I said about them, here in Sims 2 I can actually do what I said they did.  So, that is what I'm planning to do.  That means, though, that in some cases I'm going to have to start a generation (or two) back so as to actually create the familial relationships that existed in my Sims 1 families.  For example, Grant Stone nee Silver needs to have messed around with one young lady when he was a young man, and that lady would have to have a child, who would also have to have a child, who would then have a son named Brody who would grow into an adult before his mother remarried into the Hick family, giving Grant a great-grandson only a couple of years younger than his youngest.

So, as you can see, it's going to take a while.

Because it's going to be in a separate neighborhood, I'm going to divide this blog a little.  Anything having to do with my Sims 1 families will be preceded by the title "Old Town Tales."  Anything having to do with my current Sims 2 families--which right now are all in Belladonna Cove--will be preceded by the title "BC Chronicles."  If--no, when--I get started on the other neighborhoods, I'll do something similar.

Thank you again for your patience, and within the next couple of days, I should have a couple of BC Chronicles blogs posted about my families in Belladonna Cove.  I'm still trying to figure out how to tie together all the families in Old Town--some had multiple children, deaths and divorces and car accidents--so actual blood relationships are a little tricky.  I should get them done before summer, so please bear with me.

Needed: New Ideas

I think I'm simmed out. 3 weeks straight of creating has me burnt out. It's all I have been doing with my free time. I haven't picked up a book in a month. speaking of books, I am soooo excited about the movie " Water for Elephants". That was a great book, I heard a rumer back when they first talked about making it that Sean Penn was gonna play the August, the girls crazy boyfriend but I couldn't tell in the previews if that was him pr not. For some reason I pictured him bald with a mustach. I don't know, either way i can't wait.

I have a set to upload but I'm waiting till they figure out the file storage problem. I don't want to upload them as individual items. I also made a modern laundry room set for my sister. I didn't do the actual washer and sryer, just all the stuff to go in a really cool and modern laundry room. Who says l;aundry rooms need to be boring. She's made all kimds of request. Some of them are kind of out there and she keeps bugging me about clothes and hair. I'm actually a little more interested in making clothes then furniture but I'm not ready yet. I've played around with some meshes and I did make a skirt but it was kind of genereic and not that interesting. I'll keep trying. Anyway thanks everyone for downloading my stuff, I hope to have plenty more to share soon. Habby Simming

Bucket Planters

Hi everyone!

I'm working on a new set of planters that I wanted to show you all! There are only a couple versions as of now - Star Flower (my brilliantly unoriginal name for the pointy pink one), Philodendron, and a "Tropical" Philodendron that has flowers. As of writing this I am half-way done with meshing a Tulip version as well.  You'll also notice the plain bucket of dirt, too - it will be joined by a dirtless bucket, and a knocked over bucket with spilled dirt - as suggested by MsBarrows for screenshots and story telling purposes.  Bucket, flowers, and foliage are all recolorable on all versions - the dirt is not. (Although it might be on the "spilled dirt" version, for things like a bucket of spilled rocks, paint, concrete, etc)

Can't submit lots! Grrrr!

Hello everyone, I know everyone who usually downloads my creations might have noticed one thing, no new uploads, why is that? You might ask.

Well, I can't submit anything new because whenever I upload anything for submission the details for price, category and how many bedrooms, bathrooms etc.isn't there, so until things get fixed I can't upload anything new.

So, I haven't quit or anything, I'm just on a non voluntary hiatus, hopefully someday I can return.

Ok, by accident ALL MY STUFF, PUBLISHED, NOT PUBLISHED, WORK IN PROGRESS HAVE BEEN LOST!! 

But, my dad got it back, and yeah, there is ALWAYS A CATCH! Everything is in a BIIIG mess! Everything I had in one map is now in thousand different maps.. God, this make me so sad!! I had such a great day, and then this comes and ruins everything!

This means I'm not able to create stuff that has been requested, nor I can't update files if it has because some files have been corrupted! Sorry for any inconvenience! THIS SUCKS!

I'm soooo excited because my set was approved, although I don't think it will be posted as a set because I had problems with the file storage but thats ok, I am just excited to see my first uploads to TSR. I actually just uploaded another item a few minutes ago too. It's just a single item. It's a 1x2 work bench. I hated how big and gawdy the original drafting tables were so I made a smaller one. It was actually really easy, I just didn't realize that when I started. I expected it to be more complicated so it bacame complicated, and the more I messed with stuff that didn't need to be messed with the more I messed it up. Then I started over and decided to make one change at a timeto the foot ptints to see where it was that I was messing up and it turns out the first thing I changed was the only thing I needed to change. Ain't that funny. I thought it was funny. Oh well, this was only step one. The next step is to make another option for a workbench. I've been looking for antiquie drafting and writing tables for inpiration. Plus I am still working on my studio living dinette ser which is coming along real nice. I made my first glass object. Very cool.

This is what I have so far. As you can see it's close to done but there are a few kinks I want to work out. You can't see them real well but there is a plate set on the table thats pretty cool. I made it a bit too thin though so it looks kinda two dimensional, No big deal, an easy fix, also the glass vase isn't transperant enough also an easy fix. Also I don't love the shape of the cusion on the stool. Thats not really an asy fix, I'd pretty much have to start from scratch but it's a simple design so it would be that big of a deal. I haven't decided yet. I might leave it as it is, but I doubt it because it will annoy me. So we'll see. I have lots of ideas. Some of them are a bit ambitious and beyound my skill level so I have to try to make myself slow down and do one object at a time. I like to to do things that are a bit diferent, and not just astetically but like what I like about the table is it's a shlf too and the workbench I'm planning will have some shelves too and I'm thiniking of doing a murphey desk. I wish I could find someone who could add the animations to make it a true murphey desk. That would be cool. Ok well it's wayyy past my bedtime so good night and happy simming.

Hello everyone,

I'm still alive and kicking. I've been busy alot these days and also been building 3 different lots while playing the game and editing some of the penthouses in Bridgeport to make them more roomy to fit the size of the families living in them. Sorry I haven't uploaded any new lots lately but it's hard to do that when your stuck on dial up again (had to let the cable modem go back) and the downloads/uploads are in slow motion til they finish. To give an update on what I've been working on, I've built the Sims 2 lot "The Godfather Mansion" for Sims 3 and started two new projects "The Beekman Farm" and "American Hotel" from the reality tv show "The Fabulous Beekman Boys". So yall will have to bare with me since the lot uploading process on dial up is slow. :-)

Anyway so with the problems with the Sims 2 game I haven't been able to create any more Tomb Raider stories. I've got some more ideas on how to fix the problem, but the main point is that my stories are going to be delayed AGAIN. Why must things go wrong right when you want/need them!?!

New Set

So I finally uploaded my new set, ThriftyChic. It looks really good, I ended up working on it some more last night and redid the mirror. I had to upload the item individually because when i went to upload my zip to my file storage nothing happened. I "trolled the forums" and found that there is a problem with the system and tech support is aware. no big deal. Now  am just waiting for approval. I tried to submit a set once before , but it was rejected and even though i know it was completely ametuer work (it was my first try) i was still devestated. Of course that just made me want to try harder and learn more. The image on the right is of my new set. Not all of it obviously, just the dresser, the mirror, the candle lamp and the rug.

The candle is my favorite part of the set. It just lloks so vintage and complicated btu it wasn't. I used pre-made spiral that can be found in the tools section ms3d and scaled them down and positioned them. It turned out really good. I'm pretty proud of the dresser too. I've redone it three timed. I was determined that I didn't want to do just a plain boxy object. I wanted to do a set that had personality. The first one I did came out too boxy and the second one was too curvy, but I think the final product was just right.

I've already started on my next set. I decided to go in a totally different durection. My personaly style is not at all contemporary. I am definently thrift store chic. I love Flea markets and rummage sales. It's that time of year. However I ran accross this cute little dinette set and just had to make. I've already done the table and a stool. I didn't do the same chair in the picture, i decided to go a different direction. Originally I thought about doing the shelf seperate then the table but Then. what fun would that be. The table looks great, it's boxy but it's suposed to be. I did a stool with a pillow top and and a flat shlf like bottom. I really like how it is turning out, it may be doen by the weeked. I want to add a coule paintings, I already have a print in mind, and I'm doing a plate set and a my first attempt at a glass vase with lemons and limes. I kept my table as the same slate blue color because I really like it amd the colors pop nicely, but I also did a wood recolor just to show that it recolors nice in cast. the patterns fit good, they don't stretch or anything. So thats whats up, for the three peopel I blackmail to read my blog. Happy Simming everyone.
