Operation!!!!
Hi all,
Well the time has nearly come.. I go into Hospital tommorow and will be away from Simming until I feel up to it again. I hope I will not be away for too long. We will have to see. I will have to recuperate sitting up, so I may as well be at my PC.. he he
I am told I will be extremely tired so I can't promise many creations coming your way. I have 18 items sitting in my submissions folder on TSR, so I will try and release a few, if I am well enough.
If you send me any message through here or on Facebook, please know I will get back to you when I can.
Per will be running the daily lottos on Facebook whilst I am away, please show him your support and visit the TSR facebook page, their are some really nice fans who comment regular on there, do join in if you can :)
Well bye for now, I hope to be back with you all again real soon!
Hugs Simonetta.xxx

Inspirations
The Sims franchise has inspired countless inspiring artists to emerge onto the forefront of the community. They create items, lots, patterns, worlds, and new ideas spring up from those creations as well. For example, I saw recently a pyramid shaped house, that was really cool, and that inspired me to create a unique shaped home of my own. I call it The Octagon House, and it should be ready for downloading tomorrow, as I write this. Much inspiration comes from those who create patterns though, at least for me, cause I have to visualize what I would use each pattern for. I am drawn to the Damask type of patterns that are just ornate, victorian, and historical looking. I dream of using those to create a massive mansion, with just over the top decadence. I only wish I had the talent that some people do for making the homes look like they were done by professional decorators. You know, some people just have that knack for doing that type of stuff, but, I unfortunately am not one of them. Folks like Cashcraft, Hatsheput, Ayyuf, Dot, and DaisyLee, just to name a few. Perhaps I am just critical of myself over jealousy, cause I can't create to your high standard, though I strive to. Either way, the creations are magnificent, and the inspriation to create those things must come from somewhere. Mine often comes from homes and buildings I see as I travel across the USA, as I drive my semi down the road. Yes, I am a truck driver, hauling food goods all across this land. Meat, cheese, pizza, ice cream, and produce primarily is what i haul.
Anyway, I love the Art Deco style of the 40's, and the Colonial homes of Williamsburg, Virginia, the Georgian Federal brick mansions of the south, and Plantation style homes of the low river country. It's funny how I start out trying to create that, but end up with something completely different. Somehow the rooms feel to small, and before you know it, I have rooms that are bigger than most homes. It's a bit unrealistic, and that is my problem that I need to work on, toning down the over the top huge homes that really just waste space. I think that will be my next hurdle to conquer, space management. If I could make the rooms smaller, and design them the right way, I could improve the homes I create tremendously. And my inspiration for that comes from you other creators out there. I can do better, cause it has been done, and that is my inspriation for the day.
I hope real soon to aquire a better photoshop program so that I can make awesome patterns too. And use some real photos for some in game artwork as well. Nature is very inspring for some awesome art work, and once I get back home, and get some time, maybe I can work on that. See ya'all for now.

Learning A New Skill
Learning to create custom content has been a real adventure. Some days I get sooooooo frustrated i just want to throw by computer out the window, but other days I feel myself swell with pride when I've succeeded. I'm still not as good as some of my favorite creators and probably won’t be for quite a while but I think I've come along way. I wish i had picks of my first few creations. Just thinking about them makes me laugh. I actually only started this a month ago. Wow, it seems longer, but I've become a bit obsessed, as is my personality. I want to be the best at everything. Well I probably won't ever be the best at creating Sims stuff because there are some amazing artists out there but I will most certainly be good. My advice to anyone who is interested in learning to create stuff is go for it!!. Its fun and Workshop makes it much less intimidating. At first it may seem overwhelming but once you get in the groove of the process, its like, "why didn't I do this along time ago?". I personally read at least a dozen tutorials. Most of them confused the heck out of me. Luckily my mistake is your reward. I'm gonna save you the trouble of searching endlessly for tutorials that all seem to contradict themselves and tell you the 4 main tutorials you should use and funny enough, they are all on this website. Well that’s because they are written by TSR creators and they use Workshop. Now I still use s3pe for painting because for some reason workshop doesn't import textures for paintings, it weird I don't know why, when I find out I will let you know. But for everything else I use workshop because it takes all the guess work out of it. With S3pe you have 15 million files all names with numbers and different file extensions which have kind of figured out but it still give me a head ache and I was taught to work smart not hard, so if there is a simpler way, I’m gonna take it. Anyway, long story less long, these are the tutorials I suggest:
1. A-Z Creating in Workshop by Apple
2. Object Creation Part I: The Beginners Guide To Meshing by Riccinumbers
3. Object Creation Part II: ObjectTextures by Cyclonesue
4. Baking Shadows With Blender by Sim_Man123
The first 3 are available in PDF files and the last one is extremely invaluable. I had the hardest time with texture and let me tell you Blender solved most of my problems. It does most of the work, all I have to do is go in and add the little detailed like folds in fabric or engraved edges, things of that nature. it's very cool, and super easy once you learn the process. It takes me 3 minutes start to finish to bake my UV map. It's pretty cool. Anyhoo.
I've still got a few issues with slot, but I've figured out the bone thing. And I learned this one the hard way. You see I didn't really understand what bones were used for. I had a vague idea, much like when i first used UV mapping. I kind of got it but not really. Anyway. But then I was working on this hallway dresser for my thriftychic set (coming soon) and It came out real good. I mean the shading was perfect, I got all the slot set up and It looked great in workshop. (which is deceiving, always check your custom content in game, cause for some reason some things look better in workshop then in the game) So installed my dresser and waited in anticipation for my game to load and I went buy mode/ storage/ dressers, and there it was looking just so cute. Simple but cute. I placed it and it lined up perfectly. (this is not always easy but I use the footprints to make sure my objects hasn't went off center at some point, it's also what the original mesh is used fir, sizing and distance and stuff) I was so excited, it looked so good. The pattern fit perfectly. i just hate when the pattern is too big or too small on an objects. Luckily i learned from Cyclonesue's Tutorial that the size and shape of the pattern is directly related to the UV mapping process so now i know the size of my uv map and how it is place depends on the size of my object, but even if i mess that up there is an object in workshop that lets you change tiling options for a pattern so for instance the tiling option for my dresser was 1,2 but the pattern seems a little big (but not stretched) so i changed it to 2,3 and now it looks perfect. I also learned about alpha layers so my dresser is the perfect amount of shiny. Sorry, I 'm not bragging I'm just awfully proud of myself.
Okay back to the point. So, it was all good and I tested the slot, and they were all positioned correctly and I was just so happened. All i had to do now was actually tell a sim to use the dresser. I wasn't worried, it was just a formality at that point. My Sims was way across town so i turned my cheats on and had her teleport home and I clicked the dresser and told her to change into o her pjs. and waited anxiously for her to open the drawer. i really only wanted to make sure my overlay was positioned correctly (for the clothes you see when the drawer is opened) and freaking A, when she went to open the drawer, it stayed in place while the whole dresser moved out. I couldn't believe it. I was like, what the bleepity bleep bleep bleep. trust me I had all kinds of fun words. So I have learned my lessons about bone. I closed the game and turned off my computer and went to watch old Dr. Who episodes swearing I was done, It was stupid and a waste of my time. But then like 3 hours later, much past my bedtime, I went in and redid the bones, which really wasn't that hard, and loaded it back up and it worked. And it looks good. So now I make a list of the bones and what they correspond to so i hopefully don't make that mistake again.
It's a really cute dresser. the candle lamp i made to go with it is even cuter. I will be uploading it tonight when I get home or first thing on the morning while I have my coffee. i would have brought it with me to work but I thought TSR was blocked here, but to my pleasant surprise it was not. My first set got rejected but it really was barbaric. It was my first try but it was awfully cute for a first try. I will probably remake it. Well Happy simming every one.
pS. I didn't really go into it but i was having problems with my slot because i could place objects but when I moved my object the objects placed on it wouldn't move with it. well I think i found an answer here is anyone has had a similar problem. http://forums.thesimsresource.com/showthread.php?p=3931877
Thanks Angela!!!!
Sims Medieval - Trading
This guide has been updated and improved here: The Sims Medieval Trading Guide
Sims Medieval Traits
Not all Sims are created equal—especially in medieval times. Each Sim has their own unique traits that not only shapes and defines who they are but influences how they interact with others and how they behave in general. When you create a Sim, you choose these traits as part of the process. You can view a Sim’s traits on the Simology Panel, and if you hover your mouse over a trait in the panel, you can read more about it.

Getting Acquainted
When one of your Sims meets another Sim they can learn that Sim’s traits by engaging in conversation and other interactions. Sims usually get along better when they have at least one trait in common. Once your Sim has learned another’s traits, you can view these in the Relationship Panel by mousing over the specific Sim’s portrait.

Fatal Flaws
In addition to their two traits, each medieval Sim has one fatal flaw. Most fatal flaws are, as you might guess, negative and they present unique challenges for Sims. However, any Sim who works hard enough can overcome their fatal flaw by successfully completing the Legendary Trait quest. If they’re successful, their fatal flaw is replaced by the Legendary trait. This quest isn’t available right away though; you need to discover it before your Sim can attempt to fulfill it.
The Diversity of Sims
Whether your Sims is adventurous and eloquent but plagued with a cruel streak, or a greedy, vain Sim who suffers from hubris, their traits and fatal flaw determine everything in their lives. The list below includes the variety of traits that you can assign to your Sims, as well as the fatal flaws that you can hamper them with.

The end of Legacy
Hi to everyone who has been reading my legacies, I am going to have to cut this legacy short. I've been having problems with my game and had to restart. If you still would like to have the legacies going please post a message and I will continue on, but the people will not look the same. Otherwise, I already have another legacy in mind and it is in the works right now.
Thanks for all who have been reading my legacy and please stay tuned for a brand new legacy.

Late March Update
Well March is flying by and I have been waylaid by other games for a lot of this month. However my two primary projects are being looked at today. Simland Yard and Dunrobin Castle. I have to admit that I am thouroughly enjoying building. There is a joy in finding that what I create others find useful.
For info on Simland Yard you can view my creation gallery at the following:

Outside the Box
Phew! I'm all moved in and the boxes are getting less and less. I really don't want to do this again. What a nightmare. But, I'm here and settling in slowly. I hope to be back to the world of fun soon. So many boxes...
Shazaam May not work, but...
Ok, I know there are a few people out there who do not care for using the cheats in the game, and if that is you, this post is not for you, but... If you do like to use the cheats, this one may be for you! The one cheat that doesn't seem to work in the game is the one that is "shazaam" where you enter the code, and you get 500 Lifetime Happiness points. I was watching a video on you tube the other day that demonstrated how the cheat can be used, only you don't enter the word "shazaam". When you first start the game, and you are at that screen where you can choose what game you want to play, or start a new game. At that screen, you do the Ctrl, Shift, C to get the code to pop up at the top of the screen. Then you type in the words TestingCheatsEnabled on. All this time, I have been entering the word in brackets [true]. Well you don't enter that, you enter "on", without the brackets, and then hit enter. Then start the game like normal, and then when you get into the game, once it finally loads, type that cheat in again, and hold the CTRL button, I think, it might be Shift, but either way, hold that button down after you type the cheat, and hit enter. Then while holding that button down, click between the treasure chest, and the amount of points you have, and click until your heart is content. That's left click, while holding that button down, and for each click, you get the 500 points. That's all for today folks.

ISLE OF AARU UPDATE
Community lot version now available!
If you are one of the kind users who tested the empty beta and have played it enough to not want to have to start all over again with the other version, I have also made the community lots with unusual sizes available at my site in the downloads section so you have access to every single community lot between what's published there and here at TSR. I placed those two lots at my site because they likely won't fit into the worlds the majority of TSR members are using.
Also, I DID build a small park to place near the waterfall, believe it or not! It is actually a campground available here at TSR. Apparently tents do not like to function properly if built into a world prior to being exported from Create-A-World, but it works perfectly fine if downloaded separately and placed into an installed world in the actual game, so no worries.
Many, many thanks to all those who have provided such wonderful feedback.
Have fun!
I'm Back!
Hey guys! (If anyone reads this -_-) I'm finally back wohoooo! So my recent creation is waiting for you to download heheh. The thing is some of my previous creations were rejected due to the fact that high fashion brands didn't want there name on my stuff-I guess no advertising for them huh...Anyhow my creations won't have any logos until I clear the list with the Admin. staff so meanwhile go ahead, browse my stuff and download!
Broken Strings: Chapter 4 on the way!
The forth chapter of Broken Strings in on its way... I've had a little problem with the rating of a story because (my bad) I've been to explicit with the death of a character... Yes, a character we already know dies in this chapter of the story... Hopefuly the team at TSR will approve my story after I made some changes in order to fit in the rating! Next time I'll try to stick to that...

There are three different options for preparing food: A spit, an oven, and a cauldron, which can be over an open fire or in a fireplace. There is also one type of item for preparing beverages.
Note: From what I understand, more expensive cooking items do not increase the food level like with Sims 3, but do have higher enviroment scores.

Sims Medieval - Responsiblity
Life in the realm is busy for your Sims. In addition to embarking on quests and finding true romance, each Hero Sim has different responsibilities they need to fulfill. Some of these are basic responsibilities that any citizen in the kingdom has, such as paying taxes. Some responsibilities, however, are dependent on a Sim’s profession. For instance, a bard may have a certain amount of time within which to write a play, while the physician may be called upon to administer first aid.
Rewards and Punishment
Responsibilities must be performed within the time allocated or your Sim suffers consequences, such as a negative moodlet, a penalty, or, after prolonged shirking of responsibilities, even the ultimate punishment: execution. However, if your Sim does fulfill their responsibility, they gain a positive moodlet, greater Focus, and, in some cases, even achieve progress on their quest.
Career Responsibilities
As mentioned above, some of the responsibilities that befall your Hero Sim are dependent on their chosen career. Read on to get a gander at what sorts of things your Sim might be called upon to perform in each role.
Please note, a specific career can be filled with either a male or a female, depending on what you choose when you assign a Sim to these roles. The gender-specific pronouns below are therefore random. Additionally, the list below is not an all-inclusive list of each role’s responsibilities, merely a sample of some of what you can expect.
Check this gallery for responsibility related images: http://www.thesimsresource.com/staff/sww/galleries/details/id/1568/
Bard
The Bard’s responsibility first and foremost is to provide his fellow Sims with some respite from their daily toils and troubles – you might even say a distraction from their own responsibilities! Whether he’s gathering inspiration on his own, being inspired by other Sims, practicing the lute, or writing poems, the Bard spends most of his life in service to his art.
Blacksmith
If she’s not crafting armor or fixing swords, the Blacksmith can often be found wandering the surrounds of the realm in search of minerals. Her responsibilities all help ensure that the kingdom is well protected. Every time she sweats over the forge creating another sword or stave, she can rest assured that her hard work lets the Monarch sleep easy.
Jacoban Priest
This strict priest offers his fellow Sims another type of support, that of the spiritual leader. Whether converting Sims to his faith, absolving them of their sins, giving sermons, or healing with The Watcher’s Touch, the Jacoban Priest is tasked with keeping his flock spiritually well.
Knight
The strong arm of the realm, the Knight enforces the laws of the kingdom. The Knight may be called upon to engage in a duel, to maintain her weapons by sharpening her sword, to guard the forest entrance, or to discuss foreign affairs.
Merchant
The responsibilities of the Merchant mostly revolve around providing the realm with the goods that Sims both need and want. He must at turns hustle customers, butter up potential buyers, sail to other territories to engage in trade, and much more.
Monarch
The responsibilities of the Monarch are to oversee the entire welfare of her realm. She must ask about the Sims living in her kingdom to gain knowledge, pass edicts, write treaties, hear petitions, sail to new territories, and more. Any of her actions might greatly impact her kingdom, so she must be mindful in all that she does.
Peteran Priest
This peace-loving priest is often found evangelizing for his faith as he seeks to convert Sims and bestow The Watcher’s blessing. Whether giving sermons or studying The Watcher, the Peteran Priest always concentrates his focus on a higher power.
Physician
In contrast to the Peteran Priest, the Physician’s sole focus is on the corporal welfare of her fellow Sims. Her many responsibilities include collecting herbs, diagnosing Sims, giving first aid, crafting cures, and more. Once her skills are sufficiently advanced, she might even find herself operating on Sims as she pursues her quintessential responsibility: healing Sims.
Spy
The Spy’s responsibilities sometimes find themselves outside the law, sometimes for the good of the realm and sometimes, well not so good for the realm. Crafting poisons, serving “tampered” drinks, eavesdropping, and stealing funds are some of the tasks that fall to a dedicated Spy.
Wizard
With her mind focused on magic, the Wizard spends her days – and sometimes nights – collecting herbs, crafting potions, conducting research, and, yes, casting spells.
More Complex Houses for Sims 3!
Okay! So I recently became a subscriber to the Sims Resource, and I have been downloading some cool furniture and housing accessories etc for my game. This may mean that I use some of the •CC• in my game which is subscriber only :S I hope you don't mind this as it will help improve my houses by a great deal, and it will help me provide you all with better quality houses to download for your game! :)
If you have any house requests, please let me know here! I would love to hear your ideas!
Thanks! :)

Since sohpiexxx, I think that's how you spell it, has agreed that I can create a story with our two playboy mansions in them. Their will be no R rated content, just clean old PG-13. Please be patient until I can find out how to submit sims and houses.
James is three
Time just seems to vanish by in a whirl of activity these days. James turned three last Wednesday so I thought I'd pop an updated picture of him blowing out the candles on the first of his two birthday cakes.

Simdate. March 20th, Two Thousand Eleven.
Welcome to my second blog entry. This time I would like to talk about creating towns, and using the Create a World (CAW). So after days of setting up my new town of Chateau Valley, I think I have everything needed for the town to be fully funtcional as a normal EA town. That means it has all the EA necessary items like the Doo corporate tower, the criminal building, restaurant, school, city hall, etc. Creating the town in CAW is relatively easy. First, simply choose a map to work on, small, medium, or large, and the height, 100, 200, or 300. I chose 300, but I used the large flat map. For this time around, I chose not to do anything in the way of sculpting the land, leaving it flat so that the lots are easier to create on. I always try to make sure that the "Snap To Grid" option is chosen so that everything lines up nicer, and the roads meet the lots. It looks cleaner, and it makes it a snap for adding lots.
My preference for worlds is grid style. This comes from Sim City, where you can build cities from the ground up as well. Anyway, the roads are boring yes, but it's effecient for adding lots placed close together. But, do yourself a favor, and DON'T put too many lots close together in a small area, because it makes water go underneath the roads, and between the lots. It makes the lots themselves look like little islands, it looks awful. Leave some green space between them, and everything will be fine. You can have hundreds of lots in a city, but just not in one small area. Make sure to include some different sized lots, small, medium, and large. I bet everyone would love to have nothing but 64x64 sized lots right? Well, sure, but, there are a lot of EA created lots that don't fit in that size category. And they also have some odd sized lots, like 64x29, or 25x50, so make sure you look through the catalog of lots you want in your town, and make sure that you include the special sizes for these odd sized lots. And they have to be a minimum of that size or larger, or they won't fit.
And of course, you have to have both Community, and Residential Lots. There are many different types of lots as well, so make sure to include a variety so that you can have a "complete" town. One thing that I have read that some people want to learn how to do, is to have the Beatuiful Vista mood factor in the game. Well, you can add those in CAW, when placing the lot is the easiest, but it can be done after the lot is made. Oh, and before I forget, add at least one layer beyond the world layer. I believe that the program says to do that, but if not, make sure that you do. This way you can keep things straight in the game, as far as lots, versus objects like trees, waterfalls, rocks, and things like that. You won't notice any difference in the game while playing it, but it's needed none the less.
When placing lots, it's helpful to name them, this will help identify them easier. Instead of having Lot 1, Lot 2, etc. I would either name each lot like EA Manor, EA Restaurant, or what ever you desire. And every now and then use the "Edit In Game" option to switch over into the game mode, and edit the lot. Here, the world you are building will be in an editing mode where you can add objects to each lot, like the Grocery Store, hospital, salon, and other houses. I recommend however, to keep the editing to a minimum, as the game sometimes can crash while editing, and it can take a while, especially on slower computers to save your progress. And save often, so that if you do experience a crash, you don't loose hours of work. One thing I have noticed that some poeple do, is just put down a ton of completely blank lots, and everything is the same color, no variation from lot to lot, and it makes it hard to tell how big the lot is. So then you have to click on each lot to find one that is the size that you are looking for. When in Edit In Game mode, I found it easy to edit each lot, and put a border around the edge of each lot, using terrain paint, and outline the lot. This give a very good idea of how large a lot is, so that you don't have to search endlessly for a specific size lot. You could probably spray the lot size into the lot too. It can always be sprayed back to the original lot color, and the nice part is, that the terrain paint option is free.
Once you have the lots placed, make sure that you go into the objects, and effects option and place some seed, rock, and various spawners, so that you can go and find different things to grow and make the various items you will need in the game. Don't forget details, like rocks, billboards, birds, trees, and insects. And there are a TON of those options, no doubt! Once you have everything you are going to need, it's then time to export it, but you aren't done just yet. You still need to add a description for your world, which is a little history, or a little bit about your town. Plus the name, and a picture of what your town looks like. That is the tricky part, because the picture needs to be a .png file, and it has to be EXACTLY 256x256, and not any larger. A photoshop program can be used, and also Paint, which is included with every version of Windows can be used as well, cause I used paint to edit mine. And when resizing it, make sure you use the save as option, and rename it, otherwise you some weird sharing violation message. Once you have that done, then you can export it.
When I exported, it didn't want to go into the game right away. I ended up having to go to dig through the CAW files, and find the world, I then Copy and Pasted the file to my desktop. Then I had to go back and go to the Downloads section under The Sims 3, where you install new content into the game, and drop it there. It then gets dropped into the game launcher- downloads, where you install it. And then it worked. It's a bit of work to get it in there, but once you get the world created, if you have spent weeks getting it done right, like I did, it can then be very rewarding, knowing that THIS world, is one that YOU created. And YOU CAN create it. It doesn't take much tech experience, just a WHOLE lot of patience. I'm happy I have done this, and I plan to do it again, only this time, I think I will try a smaller world, since I have like 120 or so lots, and I have only used about half of a large flat tiled map. There's just too much empty space left over, and it looks not so pretty. Especially when I download a premade lot from one of ya' all here, and add it. Those are the best parts about the world. Thank you for those. Till next time, Happy Simming!

Realistic and Celebrity Sims
Okay, so, I am sure that you have all seen that I have been posting some realistic sims. Well, I've decided to start expanding my capability and I thought that maybe I should start providing you all with a range of Sims 3 things, other than houses and paintings. So, I have started to upload some Sims for you all! I am also having a go at celebrity sims- the first one that I have done is Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan, as she is one of the sims most people want to see. However, if you have a celebrity that you would like to see me make, let me know here, as I am open to any kind of request!
I am still going to be making houses and paintings, but unfortunately I won't be posting as much stuff for the Sims 2 anymore, as the Sims 3 is a little less complicated than uploading for the Sims 2, and the Sims 3 is the game that most people have nowadays, not the Sims 2. However, I will be posting the odd little thing for the Sims 2, so not to worry! :)
There should be some paintings for the Sims 3 up very soon, so I hope you will like those! ^^

Becoming a FA and a messy minisite
I have become a Featured Artist and I am still trying to get used to it. It was unexpected but I am very happy and thrilled about it. I want to thank all of you that have downloaded and commented on my work. I appreciate it very much. :)
I am sorry for the current state of my minisite but I tried to change the profile banner and ended up nothing. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. I have tried several times to upload the new image and I have tried the older ones as well but nothing happens so I will look for some help on Monday. Hopefully things will sort themselves out during next week.
The Art Deco project is progressing steadily and a new update will probably be up next week.
Have a nice weekend!
Trouble with my game
Hey everyone! Sorry I have not made any lots for you lately, but my game is broken. I have a beautiful mansion built right now and ready for submission, but I am having a problem with my game packaging my CC. It will not package the CC or even some of the Store items. I am not the only one having this problem either. I may have to do the dreaded re-install. GRRR! If anyone has had this problem and has found the solution, let me know, please.
Hopefully, I can start submitting some lots soon. Have a great day.
Hugs, Judy
Update: 03-27-11 Good news! I got my game fixed and have submitted a new lot called Morris Avenue, which you can view on my upcoming pod.
