Nearly finished New Lot....

just got to test it out now and then I think it will be ready for upload ;-) but I really hope nothing goes wrong...I've been having problems the past couple of days with refreshing pages and just generally navigating around TSR, I keep getting Internal Server coming up...i refresh and refresh and refresh and nothing happens..then i go back to my profile page and click to go where I wanted and it suddenly works!!! Is anyone else having this problem or is it just me?....anyway, pics of my new lot...

Still got a little bit to do :-) as you can probably see..but I'm hoping to get it finished today, and uploaded today too...we'll see...

Anyway, enough about that.....hope everyone is having a great Easter, whatever way you choose to spend it...I'm spending it here, surrounded by all sorts of bits of stuff needed for simming ;-) pad of paper, extensive amount of pens, cup of tea that's cold, wafer biscuits, sweets etc :-) and I have no intention of moving unless life suddenly gets a bit more exciting :-D ...but I guess that part is down to me :-) life is what you make it, right?

It's raining here today(what a surprise!), but hopefully tomorrow will be a little dryer as I'm planning on going out for a drive..Woot!!

submitting screenshot, etc

hello everyone! I'm back in the swing of things and I would love to be able to take my sims creations a little further. I need some advice. I always see how beautiful uploaded creations look with the ability to type what creation it is.  Do you get me! So for example, how can I upload a screenshot with text?  lol.  Is there a certain program to download.  I feel like I would get so much more input when submitting creations.  Thanks all! Hope to hear from you soon!

Talking about my sims :)

Heya Everyone :) ,

Firstly thank you all for taking the time to look at my page, i appreciate the views.

Secondly thank you for taking the time to read blog, i might not update everyday, but just knowing i have a few readers out there still helps me to keep going and to post some more blogs :)

Thirdly comments would be greatly appreciate on my images, i just want to see how many people out there like my screen shot i am taking and whether i should continue taking them or not. :)

Now, i shall talk about my main family i have currently been playing :)

They are called the Mansions, Father Frank and Mother Anne. I have been playing this family for a very long time and when i mean long time i mean 4 generations long :) I am very proud with this family and i shall be uploading some more pictures. Frank and Anne together have 16 children. I am currently playing there daugther Tullip Cambela, whos husband just recently passes away of an unknown cause. (I was looking at the family tree and i noticed she had no partner when i hovered over her name, so i clicked on her and her husband wasnt there. I then clicked on one of their daugthers pictures and the father was in black and white. The weird thing is the father was only a adult, so im guessing he died of starvation or he drown) Tullip and her recently deceased husband Joey had two twin daughters together and their names are Trina and Norma. Trina has her mothers eyes, but fathers hair and Norma has her grandpa franks hair and her fathers eyes.

Whilst going around town and looking at the third generation, i have seen alot of recessiviness in the children. Some dont have their parents eyes, but their grandparents or the hair isnt the same, i found this very odd. I have currently seen a fourth generation started as Tullips twin sisters daugther has just gotten married and had a baby girl. I intend on playing this family for as long as possible, but the sad thing is, i have recently had a few glitches oddly enough. One of Anne and Franks daugthers was married to her husband and they had two children together, but i just recently checked back on them and they were only friends. I then checked the family tree and the children still had them listed as their parents, but they were married. So i got them remarried and noticed another thing that was wrong.

Rodney is a third generation child and he has an adopted daugther. He lived with his parents in the household and he is there looking after his parents new twins, while mum and dad work and earn money. His mum and dad are now elders, so i assume Rodney will now look after his new sisters. I checked the household to see if Rodneys parents died and Rodney is no longer in the household but he daugther is, i looked on the family tree and his picture isnt black ot white. Still in colour, i dont know what to do about this, so im just going to leave it and see if he is wondering around town.

Andres is a third generation aswell, his mother is the eldest child from Frank and Anne, her name is Marlena. So Marlena and her partner has just became recently old, so i moved her partner and herself into a urban sprawl(i hate it when others in the household get very effected by the dead of a loved one) This meant leaving their eldest son Andres to look after Ellis and Jessie, Ellis was already a young adult and he didnt have a partner, so i adopted him two children and moved him out with them and his younger sister jessie. Leaving Andres with the house, i then adopted andres 3 children, two children and one a toddler and left them to live their lives. I looked on the family tree to see how many fourth generations there were and i clicked on him and saw his toddler in black and white. This freaked me out alot, i mean how is a toddler meant to died honestly, so i went back to my own and read the newspaper and it said she drown. How the heck can a toddler drown? i mean they cant even swim and last time i check she couldnt even walk... This made me very sad, so i adopted him another daugther, just to make us both happy.

After seeing these weird things happen to my sims family. I would just like to say, try to take care of all of your sims especially when you have a big family like mine. Read the newspaper because it is very helpful and tell you who has moved or passed away. Try and not have a very big family like mine, i spend most of my time looking at the family tree and changing households, just to make sure they dont run out of money. Dont leave it to them to get married and have children. When you check on them, if they have a boyfriend or girlfriend, get them married and pregnant, because i waited until most of mine were in their adult lives for them to get married and have children. There is another glitch in the game i would just like everyone to know, this happened to my friend and i was at her place at the time when this happened. Be careful when you have a babysitter, if you are to ever dismiss or fire a babysitter, make sure they dont hold the baby when you are doing such !!! they will leave with the baby/toddler and you wont be able to get the baby/toddler back. The baby/toddler will disappear from your list. BUT!!!!!!!!!!! I do know a way to get back you baby/toddler :) This work for my friend and hopefully for you, move someone in your household, on the list of names you baby/toddler will still be there, so just get that person to move in and your baby/toddler will come back... but as a child. When the baby sitter left with my friend toddler, he stayed a toddler on the family tree, but when he came back he was a child :)

I have something to confess

There's no easy way to say this, but here it goes: I'm afraid I can't update hair fashionista 2 because I can't find its texture and meshes. I looked everywhere but nope, it's not on my machine anymore. I must have deleted them accidentally. I must learn to name my work properly and put them in properly named folders to avoid this stuff. Yeah I know, this isn't cool. It was my favorite hair too.

But can I just say this one thing? I'm very happy that there are still people signing my guestbook to ask if I'll update my meshes especially now that there are lots of better hair to download on TSR:) It really means a lot to me, thanks guys.

Also, if there are any Workshop gurus reading this, I'd be glad to know if there's a way to extract a .sims3pack to get its contents. If there is, I'll make sure to get that hair work and announce it with big bold letters.

Mop in bucket - ETC!

Yes, etcetera - for I have not only added the mop-in-bucket (thanks to Mangio, Fredbrenny, PenelopeT and GirlFromVerona who said 'do it') but there is the new 'wet floor' sign (100% recolourable, including the image on the sign). This set  (shown on the left) escapes next Tuesday (7th April)

Oh and here's a better piccie of those puddles!

Easter is coming up

I am looking forward to 5 days of holidays and to be able to spend some time on Scania Build Set Part 2. I have always felt limited by the choice of doors in the game so I started out with a set of 30 different designs which was way over the top, lol. I have spent several days agonizing over which ones to keep and which ones to leave out. I think that I have made my final decision now so I will map and texture those doors and try them out in the game during Easter.

At the Library

So, I woke up this morning around 10:30 AM, and told my stepmom that I needed to go to another town to fill out an application at a certain department so that I can work at a certain factory in another town, if I get the job. I'm desperately searching for a job, you see, and running out of money while I do so. As it turns out, I have to go in tomorrow by being dropped off in yet another town and taking the bus. I'm not one hundred percent sure if I'll go or not, but I plan on it and I'll try to. First I gotta make sure I'm getting a ride to that certain other town, and also getting a ride back.

Then I sat down to work on my sermon or...whatever one wants to call it, for church this Saturday. It's not quite finished, but I think I made quite a bit of progress. Then my mom called (I don't live with her anymore, but I still love her!) and wanted to go out to lunch today. I okayed that and got myself ready, and then we were off as I was calling my gramma to make sure that the door would be open for me when I go to that other town to take the bus, because I'll have a couple/few hours' wait until the bus comes. We went out to lunch and I bought a sub and some fried broccoli cheese puffs and a cherry coke. When we were done with lunch, we went to a thrift store where I bought myself a very cute, very cheap new used purse. It's a nice brownish color, like I like on my characters, sims, and me too! Then we went to clean out the vehicle and went out for a haircut. I hadn't had my hair trimmed in about a year or so, so it was nice. Unfortunately, I'm running out of money. I need that job soon!

Anyway, after a few more stops, and me grabbing a couple of applications, here we are at a library! I looked for books to buy, but didn't find anything interesting or cheap enough (though sometimes there seems to be interesting enough stuff, I think), that I didn't already read. Well, I looked around then for a book to check out, but I'm already working on two at home, and didn't see anything that I want to read that badly right now, so I got on the computer. I don't have all the information on me that I need to fill out an application and make it more than just halfway decent, so I checked my e-mail. I didn't get any e-mails offering me interviews, which is too bad in a way, I guess, so finally, here I am typing up a hopefully at least semi-interesting blog (though I wouldn't be surprised if that comment right there, or this one, turns the reader (if I have any readers)'s interest away).

We're not through yet today. Maybe we'll go other places. Hopefully I'll be back home in time to continue working on that sermon to get it done enough so that I can do what I need to get done on Thursday. When I brought it up, my stepmom asked me what's more important. In a way, though a job's very important, this 'sermon' or whatever it aught to be called, is a little more important if not just as important as me looking for a job, because it concerns my soul and perhaps that of others (though I don't want to be one of those big headed people that thinks he/she really makes that much of a difference. Still, I never know. I might make that much of a difference.), just like how I don't want to work on the Sabbath, and am getting to the point where I don't want to engage in too worldly activities on the Sabbath either. I just wish that certain people would be more understanding about that. Even if they don't believe this whole matter of eternal life and death, or Heaven and Hell (I don't believe in an eternal hell, actually, but in eternal death and eternal life), the fact that I do should matter enough to them to know that if I go against what I believe, I'll be very stressed out and tormented, and that should matter to them at least, as opposed to saying "It doesn't matter" when no matter how many times they tell me that, I believe that it most certainly does!

Anyway, so here I am at the library, typing away on the blog because I've got little else to do, and today was actually an interesting day for me. I just hope that the next few interesting days are, if not free, mostly free.

My First Property Uploaded

OMG ! I cannot believe that I have just submitted my First Property to TSR.

I have used Maxis European Townhouse as a Tester Property & then I plan to take it from there.

Steep learning curve for me again but I now know (hopefully) how to submit Lots to TSR to share with everyone.

I don't know when it will be published however, if you do download the property, please can you give me feedback, good or bad as all information is taken on board and helps me learn and understand.

Changed Frame Again...

I'm currently building a new lot for my world, and to maybe upload on here..just a farmhouse type thing again..

but there isn't really any nice paintings to put above the fireplace..I want one in the living room...so I thought I would make some, as the 'Photo Series:Hipster Edition' fits, with that frame...so I started with Eygpt ;-)...but as the new house is turning out to have green hues in all the rooms, I'm going to make a 'green' set next, with trees and green colours so they fit a bit better...but anyway, this is the first set...that is if I can upload my pics today(I'm having a bit of a problem, as it's showing I have NO pics uploaded, and I know thats not entirely true!)...

there we go.....third time lucky ;-)....

so, I hope everyone likes them ;-) ....

The Chocolate Poll is still going strong, Milk is still in the lead with Dark and then White...and Shock! someone has ticked 'I HATE CHOCOLATE'....(I know who you are ;-) )....

A few more days ...

Finally! In a couple more days i will be able to play sims again! What a horrible time without them it's been! :(

  As soon as i get the game running, i'm going to take all my screenshots and post the next chapter of Save Me - The Rescue, i've got it written so it should be up next week, hopefully no one's forgotten it haha. I feel so inactive from this site when i'm not playing sims, which means i've barely read anyone's stories which makes me sad :( but since the holidays have started i will have much more time for my sims :D yay!

Verona

It's not often I dabble in wall and floor creation, however I am in the process of planning a new bathroom in real life and thought it might be helpful to create some Sim versions of the kinds of tiles I am considering to give me some idea how my bathroom might look. Is there no end to the many uses of The Sims? It isn't just a lot of fun; it also has many practical applications. ;-)

The tiles I have made are all marble and come in seven shades with matching wall and floor tiles in each.

As for the name, I visited Verona once and I seem to remember marble was very big there. All the streets in the city centre were paved with marble. It was really beautiful.

Admission of Guilt - Actually Playing the Game

I am sure many other creators are guilty of the same, you get caught up in that Lot design, or mesh, or texture, Sim, pattern or paint, and instead of playing Sims you find yourself constantly loading up that 'test' neighborhood.  The place where you don't have to worry about accidently breaking your favorite family with a whacked out experimental hair mesh or new counter.  (did you know that sometimes those hair meshes LOOK like counters?) <Boggle>

So here I am, with tons of my fellow creators objects downloaded, but not necessarily installed, always putting off Loading that legacy neighborhood I spent so much time on.  Never really taking the time to appreciate all that other have done and contributed because I am so focused on my own.

I ask myself how did I end up this way, Legacies and the family trees I used to lovingly create used to be my only pleasure with the Sims, why now do I ignore them for spending the Majority of my time in Photoshop?

Maybe it's because of the multitude of bugs that cost me two of my largest legacies. Maybe it's because I get frustrated that I have to use a Mod for true story progression.  Or maybe it's because I've discovered that there is just as much joy to be found in creating for the game as I once found in observing what occured in the game.

Whatever it is, someday soon I promise the Drew Family, The Harlson Family, the Myzer family and the Pocketz family that someday I will return and they will once again be able to babble away at each other and at me while I watch and guide them through their daily lives...

Oh wait, that home looks pretty blah, maybe it needs a good face lift, you know that texture I saw the other day at Joanns would look really nice here.. hmmm...

A big thank you to all the other creators here on TSR, when I do get back to playing, your creations are another reason I find such pleasure.

Finally it's finish. I'll upload it as soon as possible.

You can find 21 new mesh in this set. Counters, counter OMSP, chair, table, snack rack, snack displays, popcorn machine, popcorn cups, soda fridge, soda machine, paper glass, coffee machine, menu board, and wall art. You can use soda fridge and coffee machine as real.

Fancy Grilled Cheese

You know, sims aren't the only ones that can end up with grilled cheese aspirations, but there's only so much they can do with grilled cheese, you know? I'll admit it. I like grilled cheese, but why have just regular grilled cheese when you can have...fancy grilled cheese!

Aside from just regular sliced cheese, which is okay sometimes, and maybe velveta, which I think I've used sometimes, I also like to make grilled cheese sandwiches with swiss cheese and cheddar cheese, and would probably like provalogne cheese too if I tried (I think I had a grilled provalogne and swiss cheese sub, but it's not exactly the same). Sometimes I also like to add mayo or miracle whip to the grilled cheese sandwhich and then grill it, or put some ketchup and mustard and relish on it and then grill it, or grill up a grilled cheese and dip it in tomato soup, or even ketchup, or ketchup and mustard! Sometimes I might go all out and put onions, tomatoes, or lettuce in it, or all that plus mayo or miracle whip! But you know what's really good? Grilled cheese on garlic bread!

Today I made grilled cheese. I made two. I think one of them was on wheat, and another was on 12 grain bread. I think white's better for grilled cheese, and also better for garlic bread, but this was okay too. I guess wheat and 12 grain's healthier anyway ^^. I put garlic powder and parsley flakes on the top two pieces of bread that I used, and made the grilled cheese with cheddar cheese. I  cut them in half and dipped them into mustard and ketchup. It was really good! It would have been better though if I had made spaghetti sauce to dip it in, or had some tomato soup. Yum!

Now I think for dessert I'm going to settle down to about half or so of a movie I started watching a few days ago with some hot chocolate with whipped cream, and some of those cinnimon sugar cookies that I baked a few days ago. Mmmm-hmmm.

...what to write...

dear oh dear, what ever should I write for a new sim story?

I wrote one and everyone seems to love it, but I don't know how to shoot pictures for it @_@ nor how I could make characters. It seems like I lost the simming ability I had lol

Besides that story, I'd like to know what you guys want from me next. Mystery? Romance? Horror? Random Comedy? *__* I gotta do something!

Sims 3 Starter Homes

Have just completed my 1st two starter homes for the Sims 3 & I have to say that they were lots of fun to make! As usual there is No Custom Content & No Hacks, so you can feel free to customise them with your favourite downloads. I still love the challenge of only using Maxis items in my creations & I'm looking forward to creating many more homes to suit all budgets.

Thanks to those who've been encouraging me to create for Sims 3... it was just the push I needed to try something new!

Washroom theme continues to permeate!

I have at least three more Washroom mini-sets to come out.  I had intended making one huge set, but it has grown to something like 30 meshes now and people who want a simple toilet roll holder won't necessarily want an old mop too - which brings me to my next ridiculous muse of the washroom series: a mop and bucket!

Make nice new dry mops, or nasty grey-green wet ones (like you even care)! I can't even believe I've made a mop of all things!  Still, the grey mop on the left looks quite ghastly (yay!) which is exactly what I'd hoped for. 

This version needs a wall so the mop can appear to 'lean', but should I make a version with the mop stuffed in the bucket too so that it can be more free-standing?  What do you think?

Also to be included in this set will be the abandoned toilet rolls, old bleach bottle, some reflective puddles and, hopefully, a stand-up wet-floor sign. 

New project

Today I caught up with inspiration and started work on a completely new design. Green lot has to wait, but I promise to get back to it soon. This will be something completely new to me. In the end I felt confident to build quite a large lot. Soon I will try to post a screenshot of it. Quiet week for all. :)

Sadly I am not taking requests I was getting so many I couldn't keep up and I hate to disappointed (that sounded so vain sorry lol) this time around I have realised I don't have the time to do them just yet if I do get requests.

Hello everyone!

In my previous blog I mentioned about working on my new project - celebrity sims. I am sorry I have not got any time to make them, but I promise you I will start making them before the end of June, when I won't have alot of schoolwork to attend.

I'm gonna make House m.d., Tyra Banks, Twilight and others. I will consider some of your own requests mentioned in comments.

You will also be able to see some new shoes, hair, clothes and so on.

I may in the future even create houses and furniture, but that is only a thought. So don't count on it.
