Building my dream Sims 3 house
Well, seeing as how I am not winning the lottery, I thought I would create my dream house in the Sims 3 in the meantime!
I'm using the 64x64 plot currently occupied by the park in Sunset Valley. My house will have :
1st floor : living room, dining room, kitchen with breakfast bar and walk in pantry, gym, pool house, games room, library, music room, study, laundry room, conservatory
2nd floor : 12 ensuite bedrooms, each with bathroom, washroom and walk in closet.
Outside : detached garage to house two cars, with workshop and storage room. Zen garden, lake, covered terrace and patio area. Flower garden and a secret garden.
Basement : wine cellar, three museum rooms (one for France, Egypt and China), art gallery and photo gallery (to house the photos my sim takes).
I'll post screenshots as and when I can, to let you know how the house is progressing.
Many thanks to all the designers/creators on TSR, if it wasn't for them my beautiful dream home wouldn't be possible!!

Exciting New Collaboration
Hi everyone,
I just wanted to keep you up to date with some new developments. Porkypine (from MOD) has offered to create some exciting new historical meshes. You can see the proposed projects here: http://www.modthesims.info/member.php?u=429491
I hope you are all as excited as I am :)
2 millions?
Even I have given a looong break to creating, I am still checking whats going on.And I am so grateful to you, I appreciate all the things you did to me, all the compliments you left on my creations :)
I hope I might find some a looong time so I can start to create, again.
Take care of yourselves have a great day :)
And I updated it already!
I can't leave anything alone. I have updated my tutorial ALREADY! The download is available on this page (look for the "Download PDF" link at the bottom).
After chortling heartlessly at many more people's mistakes with Speculars (two mistakes of which I confess I've also made), I decided on a swift rewrite of that entire chapter.
If you believe any of these (and some are more 'wrong' than others), then I urge you to at least read that section of the guide because you're getting it either slightly or massively wrong! It's short, and will save you being ridiculed at parties should speculars come into conversation (speculars being typical party conversation)...
I've completely rewritten the Sepcular section based on some of the things I've been hearing because there are a lot of us out here who have made these same assumptions. I've used better pictures to show how it works, and removed all that nonsensical repetition too. I've added a new myth-buster section to explain what's wrong with some of the aforementioned assumptions, and I've also updated a few other sections with additional tips too.
I apologise if you wasted a stupid amount of green ink by printing the previous version. I have no plans on any further updates.
Meshing (agen!)
I've just downloaded the 2 "Object Creation" tutorials (Beginners Guide to Meshing & Textures) and I'm gona (try) to learn meshing. Hope it won't take me too long.
Was just wondering if anyone would like me to post them on TSR or if anyone has any ideas for anything I could make (nothing too hard please :D) Then post a comment
Thanks, Reece
Meshing
I'm thinking about starting to learn meshing. I've found some pretty good tutorials in the tutorials section here on TSR. Might have a go after I get home from school. But till then
Cya!! (heading off to school now :()
CAS ISSUES?
OK guys I've finsihed like a couple of sims creation but when I export my sim as a .sims3pack it appears with a tiny, golden lock on the icon. It's weird! Does any one of you have the same issue or it's just me? I first thought it was a household type but was a wrong guess. Then I thught it has that lock because it is like 23 MB?! I CAN'T UPLOAD MY CREATIONSSSSSS TO TSR! and I already address this issue to support center and nothing...ANY IDEAS PPL?
Mall is Finally Done!!!
Look out for it should be published in a Day or two :D I made two verisons hopefully they accept both a Subscriber and Free verison so everyone can enjoy it. Took me about a week... Pics of them are in my screenshots.

Summer 2010 part 3
Hello Simmers
I arrived on Mallorca. I'm glad to be here again.
In my last 2 blogs I said that it would be difficult to be on TSR well it isen't the hotel where I work/ live has cheap internet so I can go online in all my breaks and on my day off. I also could install the sims 3 basic game on my laptop so when I've time to create and upload something it will appear on the site. I'm just glad that I don't have to be without TSR for 8 months.
Hasta Pronto
20.000 Downloads !
Hey guys,
wow my houses are already downloaded about 20.000 times. I'm so happy that you like them,
I can't tell you how much that means to me.
Thank you so much. :)
A new house will come in future, too. But I can't chose which you to finish first. xD
Well, hugs Anne (manderinchen)
The Stone Family Addendum
Minor change to the Stone family.
As mentioned previously, Vivian moved out, and Gloria left with her. They're now living with Gloria's cousin, Rowan, and her family. That opened up space for two more family members at the Stone household.
Rather than wait for the guys to get a call about adopting, I've instead moved in Miles' younger brother Percy and his daughter Sarah. Percy met and married Cordelia and moved in, bringing Sarah along. Now they stay in the room that was once Miles and James' room. The two guys have instead moved into the room Gloria and Vivian shared, and Amelia--since Cordelia now shares a bed with Percy--now has a room all to herself.
Cordelia, who became stressed out by her job as a Lion Tamer (the constant need to be watchful was wearing on her), left that career and became a Rock Star by using Amelia's connections in the industry. Amelia had herself grown tired with the prime-time hours and went into business, becoming a CEO. She wished Cordelia well, but warned her that it could be difficult.
After marrying Percy, Cordelia suddenly found that she didn't really like being in the spotlight. At least with her old job she was too busy watching the big cats to worry about the audience too much. One night, she decided she just couldn't continue, and gave up her job. Instead, she decided to go into the fashion industry. At least there she wouldn't be the main focus of anything. Well, clothes and such while she was a model, but her job was to make the clothes look good...she wouldn't be what everyone would be looking at (or at least she shouldn't be, and that was enough to give her the courage to go out on stage).
In the meantime, Percy decided that he could handle the spotlight, and after working hard to get in shape and work on his performance skills, he entered into the music industry. He rose faster in the industry than either Amelia or Cordelia had, and now he's a Rock Star of exceptional fame.
Sarah is a well-adjusted young lady. She's accepted that her mother won't be back (she ran off with another man), and has accepted Cordelia as her step-mother, and Amelia as an aunt. She's a little confused by her uncle having a husband instead of a wife, but since she and James get along well, she just shrugs it off. She is a little lonely, though, being the only child.
Amelia, knowing how Sarah feels, has begun thinking about moving out. She herself is interested in finding love for herself, and wonders if Mr. Right is out there somewhere.
Steven, for his part, has given up being a coach. Instead, he has taken to the stage as an entertainer. Now a Broadway Star, he gets home later, but he also leaves home later, so there isn't as much of a rush to go as there was before.
Jonathan, on the other hand, has decided to enter into the work force. Though he works hard at home, he wasn't inclined to take an all-day job, nor give up his mornings to chat with friends and neighbors. Instead, he opted to become a Personal Tour Guide. Now, though he often handles breakfast duty, someone else does dinner, which leaves him relieved and less stressed. Being at work also reduces how desperate he is for society at home (outgoing as he is, he needed to meet with at least two people to remain in good spirits and still not be fully satisfied; now he can get by on just one per day).
The Stone house has itself undergone some changes. The balconies are gone, walled up and over to make space for more bathrooms--the three the house had before just wasn't cutting it for eight people. Now Miles and James have a bathroom for themselves, and so do Jonathan and Steven. Amelia, Cordelia, and Percy share one or two bathrooms between them, but since Amelia's gone during the day and Cordelia and Percy are gone at night, it works out all right. Sarah shares with them, but there's a bathtub with a shower curtain in one of the upstairs bathrooms, to avoid the spillage that always seems to occur whenever she uses the showers.
Whether or not Amelia stays and if Sarah gets a sibling remains to be seen.
How Much Do You Love Your Sims?
Most of us Simmers have favorite Sims that we've delevoped an obsession with. Same here, I have seven favorite Sims that I absoultly love playing with. Their pratically my new best friends. I've become so obsessed with them that I found myself drawing pictures of them in class! Pretty soon, I had a whole story written out about them and I drew all the major scenes from it! I don't know wether it's a sign of love, obsession, senioritis or what but my drawings came out pretty nice so I decided to share them with the world! Check them out! I hope to be updating regularly but their could be delay just cause I'm a perfectionist and the sketch has to be just right before it's ready to upload! :)

NEW ACCOUNT!
Hello folks! I know it's been a while since I've been around TSR but I have decided to make my return. I have been lurking around here off and on, I'll admit but I have been too busy to give The Sims 3 my creative attention; however, I have noticed the continued success of my pet project - Madison 2449 in my absence. Thanks for your continued support! I truly appreciate it.
Now, for the exciting news: I will be returning with new content for you all soon! I have decided to separate my "Madison" project from Trunk_Show. You can find it here: Madison (http://www.thesimsresource.com/members/_madison/). I am currently working on new clothes and objects for you sims and I hope to have new uploads for you all as soon as possible.
Thanks for you continued support. Happy Simming!
Christian
In other news...
Wow. Haven't updated the blog in a while, eh? Well, I'm doing it now.
So I just uploaded a new screenshot and am sifting through my other screenies to find any upload-worthy ones. I really love the train in Champs les Sims, it is so cool.
I am still totally in love with World Adventures. My favourite place is Shang Simla. I especially like that dragon tomb, but it takes such a long time to do! It's really a lot of fun though, and pretty rewarding when you finally reach the end. I'm also really into the whole martial arts thing. Meditation and zenoporting is awesome!
So the cruise I'm going on is in 20-ish days, which means I need to go dress shopping this week, since I only have one and it's a winter dress. I hope I can go with my friend, because dress shopping with my mother is not something I really want to do.
Anyway, I'm going to get back to my Lost marathon (I'm definitely in love with Charlie :P). Ta!
Got Rid of the Snow Poll!!!
I'm hoping it's not going to snow anymore for the next few months ;-) so I decided to remove the snow poll and add a new one with a subject that is close to my heart ;-)...
31 - 73.81% of people like snow
14 - 33.33% of people don't like snow
I did actually click both yes and no when i participated..because i do like snow only not quite as much as we've had here in the past few months ;-) ...I'm hoping now that we can move on towards Spring and Summer (and short skirt time!) because I'm pretty sick of wearing a huge coat, scarf, gloves and wooly bobble hat!! Time for those lovely little skirts, shorts, sandals and blouses..I so can't wait :-D ...oh and bluebells, daffodils, foxgloves and ferns..hmm, I do love the beauty of flowers :-) (don't I sound a tad daft :-D!! ) I'm starting a new job in a weeks time and I will be able to wear skirts and heels for the first time since joining the company and I'm really looking forward to it!! I only have to actually find a skirt I like to wear now :-D the only ones in the shops at the moment are horrible bell shaped things that make your backside look huge!! (who decides what is in fashion!!) or tiny little things that I'm sure that I wouldn't bend over in!! (Gosh don't I sound like an old fart!) :-D I just want a nice knee length pencil skirt and can i find one!! After two weeks looking, I really don't know what I'm going to do (wear trousers probably!) :-D Anyway...Over the next couple of weeks I'm hoping to get my new world sorted out for upload, I'll probably put it on a personal site or maybe start my own, not quite sure about that yet..but it will be as a blank world to start with with no lots at all so people can make their own and then sometime after i will probably upload a version with a few lots and the community lots on so that people can use play straight away...I've spent the past week or so playing WA furiously because I had a lot on my mind at the moment and it helps playing the sims, I find I can lose myself in it and don't need to worry about anything apart from what veg are growing in their gardens and whether their shoes match their dresses :-D oh, and 'Gosh, has she just stood on another trap!!' :-D ...I'm quite looking forward to the new expansion pack, it looks pretty good..but June is such a long way away!!
Anyway, a couple of pics..one from the top of the hill where i live first thing in the morning and the second down in the valley by that river you can see in the first one..by which time the sun is just peeking over the hills on the other side of the valley :-)
Hope everyone has a great week :-)
wallart finished
afer i finished my mall project, the new wallart pictures are finished.
no blame! wallart this time.
there will be tribals, dragon and flowers, available as sets and single objects....go and see, if its free to download.
Power Girls Down Under
Yay! Finally the girls have arrived in Veronika's homeland of Australia and they are itching to get the party started.
Veronika has rented out an old Queenslander on the Sunshine Coast so that the girls can truly experience Queensland in summer (unfortunately, this comes wtih flooding, but I'm sure they'll manage).

Stay tuned for more fun with the power girls!
~Illandrya
PS - The first few images of their arrival have been posted in my screenshots, but I'm having difficulty submitting the rest of them. It could be that it's after one in the morning and I'm tired and probably not doing this right. I will try again when I wake up.

Object Texturing for both brainy and bewildered
We have today released an epic two-part Object Creation series for you. The first part, written by riccinumbers is the eagerly-awaited Beginner's Guide to Object Meshing, and the following part is a less eagerly-awaited Object Textures, written by yours truly (yes, me)!
Object texturing - who's it for?

I will resist answering "for makeup artists" because I'm stiill under some BE NICE rule (which is getting real old after all these years). So, this second part of the series is for beginners and experienced alike. Beginners will be shown, step by step, how to make the standard images of an object (no experience necessary), import them into Workshop and finish off the object they started in the Beginner's Guide to meshing tutorial. More experienced people will secretly be reading how to use the specular properly (you all know who you are) and how not to make images the size of table cloths! Oh, and all that clever transparency and wall-mask stuff too.
What's covered?
- Image sizes (and how to map EA-style)
- Multipliers
- Speculars (including coloured speculars)
- RGB/RGBA Masks
- Overlays
- Stencils
- Dirty-state overlays
- Non-recolourable textures
- Wall masks (and the automatic wallmask generator)
- Sheers and transparency
- Importing textures into Workshop
- Defining patterns
- Making texture variations
- Using useful EA textures
- Outputting a complate for Sims 2 conversions
- Working with alpha channels

Does it work?
Oh ye of little faith! We beta tested both guides with a small group of absolute beginners and we have seen some stunning results for first meshes already. These testers are still making new meshes, and one of our newest testers, Illiana of lot-building fame, has already uploaded an incredible first set here. There are other beautiful examples by our testers too, only they're still creating rather than uploading right now (we hope to see some new creations popping up on TSR soon)!
Who wrote it really?
I can't believe you even asked that.
Working on some buildstuff
Ok.. while working on my Liams Corner series i was building a modern home for it, but was still missing some doors and windows to match what i'd like to see. so i thought, well let's just make some for this series.
Here you can see some first results of what i have in mind.

Without any sims now.
Yes... My brother deleted my sims... His stupid computer crashed. New stupid computer. Now I have 4 computers, and 3 of them don't work. It's crazy, I know, and now I have to play on mother's one, but it has no memory (my mother is an interior designer, so she has to have a lot of work on the computer). And only one thing is good-I have Internet!!!
Starting Over
Well, my laptop broke and I'm still trying to figure out a way to get my old files, especially my custom content, onto my new computer. Now I'm in the process of starting all over again, with new Sims families and story lines. So... I'll be keeping my old screenshots but there will be newer ones posted. I really wanted to continue one family and follow it but I have no choice right now to do so.
I really missed contributing to the site and talking to the other users. Now onto downloading more content for my new game and sharing photos.
Oh, good news though. My new desktop allows me to play on high settings for all graphics so I'm really happy about that since using low settings on my old laptop was no fun at all. I didn't really get to experience all of what the game had to offer until now and it's more amazing than I thought it would be.
Handy Hint or another D'oh! moment
Whew... a few hours have zoomed by again. Wanted to make a poster this time. Rejigging the teener poster was easy, thanks to a quick refresh of Vanilla Sim's tutorial. Then I had the great idea of twiddling with the frames. I wanted a metal brushed one, so changed the pattern, looks fine, tried it in game. D'oh! The whole poster looks woozy as the pattern is plastered all over the poster. Grrr... change back to original generic one.
Scrolling through all the possibilities of the project tab, ticking some more boxes. Oh, I can add a thumb, that should be pretty. Add the original pic as thumb. Save. Create package. What the... 15 Mb pack?? Back. Remove thumb, make itty bitty pic of the .dds used to make the pack. Save. Create package. That's better - 950 something kb. Can't have a poster as large as a house now, can we? :D
Alright, have a quick sneak preview of the poster - I hung a row of them in the Art Gallery ;)

So here's our handy hint of the day: when adding a thumbprint picture to a package for easy recognition, make sure it is a thumb and not a whole body slam. It's the little things that count ;)
Hmmm... now let's see, what pictures can we make posters of next?
I lost Sunny..
Hi everybody..I lost today's published clothes "Sunny"..I think something happened wrong..So I edit it on 11 March..
Sorry for the late..Enjoy it..
Sims 3 Ambitions
How exciting! I love new expansions :D If anyone's interested to see the official trailer, you can see it here - http://mysims3blog.blogspot.com/2010/03/sims-3-ambitions-official-trailer.html#links.
Looks good! I mean it would have been good to get seasons or pets but this is still good :) The release date for us in Australia is June 4, those in the US and Europe is June 2!
The Start Of Something Beautiful..
Okay, for anyone who reads my story "The Start Of Something Beautiful" i need help. I had plans for the story but i've lost the plans and cant find them nor can i remember what i'd written. Thats the reason the chapters havent been coming out quickly. If you have any ideas how to make the story more interesting, please share. If i chose your idea, i will say that it was your idea, i wont take credit!!
Thank you
-Katie
Mall is going to be my next Lot *Sneak Peek Enclosed*
So I started working on a Mall. Its taking me alot longer then I thought. Also I was hoping I could furnish the whole mall but probably won't be able to because of space. If the the file is too big I won't be able to upload it for share. Tell me what you think if you have any comments or suggestions I welcome them :D
-B
very sad
I'm very sad.My mall is finished, but 117 mb (56 mb rared) are too big to share is here on this site.
Sorry for this bad news. But if u like it, write a PN an u will get the link to download it.
So long Cali
It's so meshy
Well, I tried to modify one of the in game meshes and it looked great in TSR workshop, but when I installed it into the game the arms are all wavey. It seems there is a bug in the workshop and I'll have to wait until it's fixed before I can start meshing around again. Once it's fixed I can then share this top (without the wavey arms) with my TSR family.
That is why you haven't seen any of my creations lately. So I'm back to creating clothes using the in game meshes for now. I just uploaded an embellished top that I hope you will like. So watch for it.

Working on a Big Project!!
So I started working on a big project lot. Its probably going to take me a few days but I think you'll love it. I finished doing my research for it and can't wait to post sneak peak previews in my next blog.
Can you guess what it is?
B
Great to be Mentioned
A special thanks to LivingSims for mentioning my Amish Desk in the latest edition of their on-line magazine.
TSR has made this possible.
Thank you TSR.
ALL PREVIOUS OBJECT SETS TSRAA! :)
Here ya go. I've changed all my object sets to TSRAA. :) Finally you can include all of my objects in your lots if you want.
Still, credit would be much appreciated as I put lot of love, energy and time in my creations.
Have a great day & Enjoy! UM
10k Downloads - What a Milestone!

Hey guys! Welcome to the new and improved blog! ( As if you hadn't noticed the shiny new banner already.. :] )
This is just a quickie to announced my new milestone; 10,000 downloads!
Sure, it may not be as big and grand as some of the other longer serving members of this fine community. * Shakes fist jealously * But for me, its quite an achievement. I mean, that's 10,000 times my creations have been downloaded. That's a heck of a lot of my buildings circulating on people's copies of The Sims 2.
Hmm, maybe now my dreams of global domination may come true..
..Mwhahaha
So anyway, in celebration of this magnificent event I've done two things:
- Created the new blogging style ( the new graphic, not centred anymore, etc. )
- A 10k Milestone video!
Well, that's it for now. Time to get back to my university work. Lots of lovely assignments due in over the next few weeks.
But in the mean time, I will leave you with the knowledge that I'm working on a few ideas for new buildings including;
- New Uni Dorms
- New Apartment Blocks
- My Current House - Both In Apartment and Uni Dorm Types! ( well, as close as I can get to it.. )
