It's a mesh - my first attemp at meshing
It's been awhile since I posted anything in my blog. I am finally taking the plung and trying to learn to mesh. I tried using Liana's mesh which she offer to creators like me, but I had to use an older version of TSR's workshop. My top using Liana's mesh installed in the game just fine, but when I tried to upload it to TSR I just got a message saying something like "don't know what to do with it." I tried to upload it 4 times. I thought it was the server, so I uploaded another sim pack I made from the current version of TSR Workshop and it uploaded just fine. That is when I decided I needed to make my own mesh.
I hope Liana doesn't mind but I used her idea to tweak the same mesh she did which is the overhang top. I liked the way my top fit on her mesh, but since I'm having issues uploading my top with her mesh to TSR I decided to make mine similar to Liana's. Imitation is the best form of flattery.
It's a little mind boggling, but I think I can do it. I'm going to start small. I tried making a few adjustments to this top. I found a great video tutorial on youtube on quick meshing in milkshap and it really helped. They used a different CAS Workshop similar to TSR's workshop, so I was able to figure out how to export and import to and from TSR.
The fun part was tweaking the mesh in milkshape. Yep, I broke down and purchased Milkshape. The difference between the youtube tutorial and what I was actually working on, is when I import the mesh into milkshape it had the Fat morph on the top. I hide the fat morph and tweaked the base mesh. Then brought back the fat morph and tweaked it so it was similar to the base mesh.
Here's a screen shots of my first attempt at meshing. I hope to one day make my own meshes. I still need to figure out the whole UV Maps, Vertex and ploygon stuff. Look for my top coming soon. I really want to make a short skirt for girls. I hate the long skirt in the game. Wish me luck.

UPCOMING - UM Black & White Bathroom Set
I've started this bathroom like a week ago, but again... finished few mins. ago because of scarse amount of time ...

Exported my World to my Launcher...
...finally..after a few hours of frustration wondering why it was telling me I had no description, title or thumbnail :-D ...I uploaded it to my game, added my sim..and spent the next hour laughing my socks off...I haven't bothered painting in non routable areas, I thought I would go with the flow..they can't go in the sea or water, but it seems they can go up some amazingly steep hills! :-D
I tried all the hills out..and it was so funny watching her running up those stupidly steep hills...but I don't think I will change it because it's just too funny!! (doesn't take much to make me laugh! :-D )
and the views are just spectacular from up there :-D ....I still haven't got any spawners down, but she had a fish in the sea, and even though there wasn't a single residential lot, or community/rabbit hole, for some reason the game spawned some townies almost straight away..
this is, apprently Betty(or something) Butcher!! I have no idea where she thought she was going!! Maybe to see those views! :-D I checked out where the sunrise and sunset was, because when you create the world you can't move the sun but you adjust your world to fit where it rises etc and I must have made a boo boo somewhere because it wasn't quite where I thought it was :-D , but it'll do..
This is the sunset (:-D )..and where one of the beach lots will be..I started building it yesterday and this is what the sunset will look like from the living room window....
I'm pretty happy at this, needs something though I think..definately needs some waves crashing :-D....

I finally made it!!
I need patterns for my Sims3 and have been trying for some time now to make them, but without success. Then I found this great tutorial by Sinastra, who tipped about a plug-in for Photoshop. That made all the difference in the world! After some fumbling around I finally managed to get started with pattern making. I'm really happy about this! Now I don't have to wait for somebody else to create something I can use, but can make them myself.
If you play Sims3, keep an eye on my downloads, I've already submitted the first ones!
Colorful Collections
Hi everyone! :) I´ve started a little collection with some colorful clothes! :) I´ve already made a dress, I plan to make some tees, a pair of leggins, some more dresses and etc. ;) Hope you´ll like it ;)

Found a new free dress at the Sims3 store.
I have been searching out other Sims3 sites earlier and Evanell's site had a post about a free dress at the Sims3 store that was posted on 02/17/2010 in Evenell's news section. Strange thing is that without clicking the link to the store I was unable to find it on my own. It doesn't appear to be anywhere in the store when going though each and every category and age for females. Don't know how long this link will work but I wanted to share with everyone.

Coming Soon! Bathroom Clutter!
For 2.5 days, I've been honing my meshing skills...they're coming along, slowly but surely. It's 3am and finally, I've completed another mesh set - Bathroom Clutter! The set includes 6 new meshes: toilet plunger, toilet paper stack, a toilet rug, nail polish and file, shampoos and soap, and toothbrush and toothpaste.
The items are decorative only, and serve no purpose other than clutter! Who doesn't love clutter!?

Been fiddling around with CAW...
...and Gosh! hasn't it been driving me nuts!! I'm on my second world, because the first one was driving me to distraction..some lots were not lining up no matter how much smoothing I was doing, roads had tears in...oh, and a million othere things that were making me tear my hair out!! I'm finally getting the hang of it though, I think ;-) ...
the pic above is my first effort..maybe one day I will go back to it, but for now I'm consigning it to the 'I've had enough' bin..
this one is my current effort...as you can see the lots I've placed on the right hand beach side I placed first and the sand texture that I mistakenly plopped on after is underneath never to be seen...so after deleting the whole lot and starting again :-o ;-) ...
...so now the lots are over the terrain..you can't actually see where I've placed them because for some reason you can't take a screenshot in edit mode..pah..anyway, there's lots of varying sizes all along the beachfront, I've tried to keep everything standard sort of sizes so that I can plop EA lots in if I can't be bothered to make some of my own, or fab lots off here..I still can't figure out how to place a bridge and have the road useable...but managed to get the trees on and objects..and this is where I'm at now..
So, I think I'm about half way..I'm itching to play it, but I've got spawners to put on...more trees and all those lots that I ought to be building... :-D
But I'm taking a break, going to make dinner in a moment..I'm making plaice covered with cheesy breadcrumbs, and whatever else is in the fridge :-D ...and boy am I glad to be finishing this for now..it's well and truly worn me out!

Who says mirrors cannot be broken?
Tutorial done and foisted upon hapless beginners to try it out and point out the error of my ways, so back to the Sims 3 drawing board!
One set I am very keen to complete now is the bathroom set (well, the word 'bathroom' might be playing a fine edge to the real set I am making). You've seen the toilets and the sinks now, so how about some mirrors? The rust is in two recolourable shades. I was going to make that non-recolourable but the mirrors can be made to look very different depending on the colour of that rust. Four different designs (including a cracked, broken mirror) will ensure you'll have no 'repeat' effect when using more than one...
If anyone asks me nicely, I might even make a 100% boringly clean and rust-free mirror to complete the set, but we'll all know who you are! Anyway, I'm sorry I was timed-out on creating. Now that tutorials and other nonsense is out of the way, I can throw myself back into ruining your game - my favourite pastime!
Postscript: time for MY moment of shame. Everything is this set will (unfortunately) clean up into pristine items too. I've simply chosen the worst possible colour variations to show you. Even the sinks will shine like mother came along and cleaned them in disgust!

No ice-creams...
I really just have to share this story with you all.
Last night, my fiancee and I went to the cinemas to see the new movie, Shutter Island. While the trailers were playing, Chris went to get us a couple of mint choc chip ice-creams. He came back with a mint choc chip choc top for him and a vanilla for me for some strange reason. Even he doesn't know why he got a vanilla for me but I think it was because we were talking about them before he went and therefore he had vanilla on his mind. So anyway, that was fine and I said I would just go get myself a mint choc chip one.
By the time I came back in, the movie was just starting and a couple were now sitting next to Chris, pushing us down one seat. As I sat down, he explained that while trying to move for the couple who came in late, he had dropped his ice-cream and it now lay splattered on the floor in front of us. So, I was willing to share mine but while he was showing me where his dropped ice-cream was so I wouldn't step in it, my ice-cream fell off my lap and splattered on the ground, too!!
We were just speechless. Three ice-creams later and neither of us got to eat one! Obviously we weren't meant to have an ice-cream last night. After the initial annoyance disappeared, we couldn't stop laughing about it. Luckily the movie was great - it has a surprising twist! - and it was still a great night. But, what are the odds?? :-D

Bits N Bobs
A few projects under way right now, lights and blinds. Still experimenting with things, seeing what can and cannot be done at this point. My favorite lights I made for TS2 are the ones below, just couldn't live without them *lol*
In the background of the preview below you can see the blinds I am working on that fit with the Panorama windows. Not 100% happy with them yet, but getting close ;-)
Next Five Lots Comming Soon...
I Think the next five house I make are going to be studio style starter homes for the bachelor/bachelorette sims. So working on Modern and Traditional versions of these. Hopefully Ill have all out and waiting to be published by Monday...

Recolors of Items from other sites
I am sorry for any inconvenience that may be caused by my recoloring of items from closed sites. I cannot edit my files here at TSR and I am sure they do not want to edit ALL the files necessary. So, PLEASE, if it is a recolor of an item from an outside Sims2 site, recolored by myself or ANYONE, make sure it is available before you download to alleviate any frustrations you may incur.

As some of you may already know, after some soul-searching I have made the decision to move my Veronika Storm story series off-site and it now has its own blog at veronikastorm.blogspot.com.
I'm very grateful for the opportunity that TSR has given me to share this series with all of you; but it seems to have taken on a life of its own! I felt it needed a dedicated home.
All previous chapters will stay here on TSR where they were first published, but all new chapters will be published on the Veronika Storm blog.

On various sites, I tend to get asked a lot about where I got the custom content on my sims, and the answer is "I make most of it myself."
See, I run a webcomic called Joyride. Most of the Sims I play with are Sim versions of Joyride characters, and most of the custom content used on them was created by myself. I don't usually release creations publically, but when I do, you'll find them at Joyride.
Joyride is a site for my webcomic, NOT a Sims site, but since most of my creations for Sims revolve around my Joyride characters, sometimes I release relevant creations on the Joyride site.
Creations that were posted on Joyride in the past, but are no longer posted there, WILL eventually be reposted. I just have to get things reorganized since I don't even have Sims 2 installed on this new computer yet.
That explains the confusion, I hope? :U
