New Account & Happy Valentines
I've just moved to this new TSR account, because I got bored of my boring old name: xxMazzy. I wanted somehthing more creative, memorable and fun. I'm going to be uploading some sims and lots in the near future, as well as some spiffy accesories for your sims. I shall also be continuing with my David & Goliath collection, as well as my skintones and eye colours. I hope that you can enjoy my new account even more than my old one- I know I will! Ok, so I haven't wrote in a while...
...so here I am...
Firstly, I've got that poll on my profile page..the snow, if you like or not! Well I'm not sure how it's supposed to work, I kinda thought that it would be on there for so long and would then be over, and I could post a new one..so I'm guessing now that it runs as long I want it and then I just change it for another one..so, thank you for everyone who participated in it, the general concensus seems to be that most people like snow :-D..at the time of this going to press 31.25% don't like snow and 78.13% do like snow...which I work out to be overall 109.38%!!! Not sure what happened there, though I admit I participated and I clicked both yes and no!! :-D
Secondly, I have been going through my comments on my screenshots today and replying to everyone, and ticking them off as read as I go along, BUT, I still have two showing as Unread :-o...not sure why! I have had one showing as unread for some time, but now have two! Could this be because someone deleted a comment but its still showing on my page as being unread even though it's no longer there? I'm baffled! (which doesn't really take a lot ;-) ) Also, I love getting comments on my screenshots ;-), but I have been a bit busy recently(again!!) so it's taken me a bit longer to reply to everyone and I'm really sorry about that..I do appreciate every comment :-).
Hopefully I'll be starting a new lot soon, but I really have no idea what to do quite yet, but I am leaning towards something modern so I can use the new stuff pack objects ;-)...
But I have been playing a bit and I'm still laughing at all the expressions my Sim comes out with...
Anyway, hope everyone is having a great weekend ;-) and you've all got stacks of Valentines cards :-).
New tutorial in the works, and it's geeky!
Since my mad uploading for the recent Yard and Gardens theme (or was it Gardens and Yards? Or something...) I've been a bit out of commission on creations because my attention was forcibly routed (drat!) to writing a beginner's tutorial on making all those horrid DDS images for objects some time back. A new meshing tutorial is in the works by Riccinumbers, so this tutorial has now become urgent rather than "do in 2014 maybe", so I thought I'd best crack on and add the final pages...
The tutorial is fully comprehensive, concentrating mostly on WHY (which is often missing in "now do THIS" tutorials). For example: why images are the size that they are, why an alpha is sometimes needed (what it does and how to make the stupid thing). It will cover all the main images including how to make a multiplier from scratch, who-cares-about-baking, understanding the rotten specular, doing just TOTALLY amazing things with the RGB Mask - really! (well, I thought so) And it's all aimed at people who really couldn't care less about having a rubbishy old brain instead of a multi-core processor in their skulls!

But, for all my fellow grunge-fans, I have not abandoned you. I've made something else shiny for the upcoming (yes, it really IS coming at last) Factory bathroom set. There are two versions: this one pictured with a worktop, and a version that has no worktop (just bolts to the wall in that "Vandals - break here!" way).
And I have been given some fantastic ideas from you! Thanks to all those of you who've messaged me with your very cool thoughts. Often, I'm bad at requests, but I'm on the course of thinking old boilers (and working furnace fires), decorative industrial chimneys, industrial posters and signs (again), basement stuff like tanks and fuseboxes, recreating my pipework from Sims 2. Posptponed (for now) are remakes of my gas cylinders and gas pump sets (I've had a surprising number of requests for my gas pumps - didn't think you liked those!) because similar creations have just been uploaded (therefore I will remake mine later in the year).
Also on the further-down-the-line list will be my round walls (they'll be decorative rather than REAL walls of course, something that resembles my Bang-On-A-Can series, the Never-Ending Windows - which are on hold until a particular bug is fixed in the Workshop), and likewise the Mariner Roofline windows (30-degree angle sets).
Writing this has been a wonderful distraction from writing about Stencils. Now I've run out of chat, I have to return to the task.

So what's up? As I have stated before, my time for playing has been curtailed somewhat lately, but has been easing as I get more accustomed to my new work schedule/4 year old's school schedule. However, I have been using that small amount of spare time to learn some new things! Yup, I am learning how to make meshes and make worlds! Meshing is a much more involved process than I had ever suspected, and creating worlds is a layered mess. Yes, it can be done, but the file sizes are enormous! I am hoping we find a way to make them a little less large for easy sharing on the site.
So, what does all this mean? Well, it means I haven't had a whole lot of time to be on the site, nor to answer your wonderful comments. :( That's something I have always prided myself on! I do appreciate your patience, and hope you'll understand that I really want to concentrate on these new aspects right now. I am hoping that once I have a better handle on these major projects I will be able to be around a little bit more. :D Does this mean I don't appreciate your kind words, and critiques? No way! I love knowing that something I made helped someone enjoy the game more! It just means that, for now, my time's a little shorter than I would like, and that I WILL eventually get to them all and still personally thank each and every one of you for your thoughtful messages!

Snow day in Atlanta
Well we actually have snow again. This is the second time this winter that we have gotten snow. This time is was from 3-4 inches in some parts of Atlanta. I love the snow, I just don't care for the cold. This is pretty rare for us to get snow let alone this much at one time. We can go for years and not see this stuff so it is nice to have occasionally especially since I am orginally from Chicago where every year you get snowed in from all the white stuff. Just wanted to share these pics that I took from around my neighborhood yesterday (Friday, Feb. 12).
Rewards for Writers!
Does anyone else think there should be a monthly award for those of us who submit stories? There are so many deserving story tellers in the community and I just don't feel that they get the recognition they deserve.
There are select artists and featured artists but how about something special for stories? It takes as long creating as it does to write a story. I just don't think it is fair!

New creations! - Vicky Valentine and a sneeky peep at my new flying saucer Space station :)
Hi all,
I have been busy busy busy creating more stuff for you all to enjoy. I absolutely love themes, so I couldn't resist making something for valentines.
My new Sim is called Vicky Valentine. She comes complete with new patterns I have created for the same theme, so lots of love hearts included in all her clothes.
I will also be releasing my new lot. As promised it's a space lot to go with the two Alien Sims I have recently created. It's called Aquarius Space Station and is modelled as a flying saucer. Created with just basic stuff in the game, no wall cheats etc. I think it turned out quite well, what do you think? Check a sneeky peep at the photo below.
Lots more in the pipeline, so remember to book mark me and check back often.

Sophie Kitchen and Dining updated
Because the Coloroption of the SophieKitchen did not work anymore we have updated all Woodobjects and the ovens. Counter, Cupboards and Sideboard are now in one File (Mesh white and grunge Coloroption) Also we updated the Coloroptionset Lightwood and Darkwood including Patterns. We hope it works now for everyone. (My Game is fully Patched but I dont have installed WA or HEL Stuffpack).

I don't know, isn't looking to hopeful. I can't save new pictures without overwriting some, it's frustrating. Personal life isn't going easy either, but I could use that as inspiration for a new up and coming story? I might just write about my first legacy, which is actually three different families all related. No legacy is good without using some of Maxis premade families. c;

So just an update on what I said previous, About custom homes that will go up. So I got a job now cutting fabrics and such at a store so I have less time for sims. But. I have also gotten distracted by creating my perfect town and so it is how I want it, I'm slowly getting rid of families and replacing them with others. It is a bit of a pain and I can't get all the CC I want because a lot of it is subscriber only but perhaps now that I have a job I can subscribe for a bit and get all my dream stuff.
The good news, today I have put some time away to build some homes and I will put them up at some point even though I have no idea how because they will be my first uploads so be patient with me.

Reflet
The program I used to make the reflection picture in the previous blogpost is called Reflet. You can download it from here and it's very easy to use. Here is another example, I have resized the picture and cropped it to make it more rectangular. Then I added the reflection and made it just 50% of the height. Not 90% as in the previous picture.
This makes the picture not so large in height.
Finally submitting the second part to the Dark Night series :)

Feb. 14th, Vanity Fair IV
Vanity Fair Part IV is in response to a request for a mirror (similar to the Vanity Fair Dresser Mirror) that can be positioned over a fireplace. A simple request, but I did not know if they wanted a 1 or 2-tile fireplace mirror—so I created both!
When I received the request, I was working on a 2x1 bookcase for Sims 3; I had just completed the bookcase mesh and textured it, when I discovered bookcases cannot be cloned yet—eek! Oh well, I thought, I'll just wait and release the bookcase at a later date, but often I forget about projects, and they never see the light of day again—oh, the joys of getting older!
A much better idea is to bundled the bookcase in with the fireplace mirrors and make it a set! Although the bookcase is purely decorative, I think it will look good in a contemporary or vintage setting. In the future, when working bookcases are possible, I hope someone will remind me to update the Vanity Fair Bookcase from decorative to a working.

Bred in captivity
I do love the new aquarium featured in the "High End Loft Stuff" pack. In fact, it's probably the major reason I shelled out the cash for that particular disk.
But little did I know the surprises it had in store for us!
When my sim returned from her trip to Champs Les Sims, she decided to put some of her frogs and snails into the aquarium. I think it was 2 frogs and 3 snails. I made her feed them every day, however some days I did forget and eventually the poor wee things started to die off. After she had disposed of 3 or 4 of them, I decided to click the "manage" button on the tank to see what was left in there. Imagine my surprise when it told me that there was a frog and 5 snails!
I clicked on the frog and it said that it had been caught by Amethyst Legend. Cool, that's what I would have expected.
I clicked on a snail and it said that it had been "bred in captivity". Now, that WAS a surprise! It seems that, in an aquarium, snails bred like rabbits! Not sure if it works with any other fish as I haven't tried it. If it does, it could mean no more endless fishing for deathfish. Just catch 2 or 3 and watch them multiply :D

Today I heard terrible news-Alexander McQueen is dead. I'm in shok. He was a great designer, creativy and unusual. I don't wan't to create now, but I decidedly will upload some of his great designs. Just for a memory of a great man.
Third Submission: Bardeth Ay
Still working on my Mummy stuff. This is the best Ardeth Bay from The Mummy movies that I could manage with the in game meshes (and my Medjai Face Tattoo). I know the hair and the facial hair aren't quite right, so I'm still looking for those meshes and I know his clothes are pretty boring too. There isn't much in game for the Egyptian themed clothes and the only robes I've found are for Harry Potter. I figured I would share him anyway in the hopes that someone else might see him and be inspired to create other clothes and such for this theme.

Server issues with TSR and Forum?
Is it just me or is TSR and the Forum having issues for the past 3-4 days now? I have been having issues with the pages not loading and getting error messages about the sever being too busy, thumbnails not showing up, pages taking a long time to load, TSR down for maintence messages at odd times of the day and all sorts of other issues that have been recurring sporadically. lt is getting a bit annoying! It's like "not again" everytime I try to do something.
new houses
i am currently working on some new houses having researched some floorplans. hopefully should have first one uploaded in a couple of days, have the general layout done, just got to finish it with decoration. i will be uploading an unfurnished and furnished version of the house so that people can put what they want in it without having to delete furniture etc. will keep everyone informed of progress.

I wrote a blog earlier about the story section. Now I have also started a thread on the forum for all story lovers to read and give their input if the waiting is for new stories to get published is too long and is frustrating you. You just want to read on without having to re-read previous chapters because it has been too long in between the publish dates. I was sooo happy to see my favourite, the Veronika Storm story by Illandrya published finally... (I know she submitted it more than a week ago, so why did that take so long?)
Please help making some noise about the story section. It needs more attention and pampering...
