I could use some help with this one!

Okay, now I'm confused again.  The last couple of lots I created were completely without addtional EA content, base game only stuff.  Yet, when uploading those lots, the filters are showing that the lots contain premium content.  Anybody got an idea what's going on?  I'd really appreciate any advice, comments, ideas, etc....on this!

New restaurant lot - The FishTankTwo

Well, I had to throw out the original FishTank. It just wouldn't want to work right. The sims could not arrive there and the whole thing crashed. So I created another one. Cautious - this time I kept it simple. But the lot was blessed by a good witch the first time I tried playing my sims there, so I hope this one will be fine. Here are a couple of pictures from the inside and outside.

It is now raining and has been for 8 hours solid... and tomorrow we are expecting torrential rain....oh goody..at least its Friday..yay..

Updating all older lots

I am progressing slowly through all the lots. So far 15 have already been updated and another 8 are now pending update approval. I then have another 8 lots to check for faults and possibly fix. Once that is done all my lots will be as I intended them, finally!

I apologise to anyone who's downloaded the originals with this issue, but I ask that you download the revision to have the proper version. Thanks so far for all your support and downloads. I really appreciate the feedback I get and I am really glad so many of you like my houses <3

I am just going to have to get this off my chest...

All the comments you've been leaving, and especially the laughs I've had from your tutorial comments in my guestbook, have been the very, very best thing about being back.  You've been brilliant and wonderful.  I want you to know just how important a part you play in me (and so many other creators) just wanting to make more stuff.  You totally rock! 

And to anyone who wants to point out that I just like an incredibly expanding ego, do know that I managed to kill three people last night within an hour of each other.  Easily and without any remorse (well, not that much remorse)...  Granted they were Sim people who did not have the brains to get OUT of the pool when they were tired, but I clearly have murderous powers!

After a whole month of waiting, it is finally here! Yay! My new PC has arrived!

I am so thrilled. I will try to find the time to get the walls and floors for the Sunshine Bath loaded, but other than that you might not see too much of me for a little bit. It will be quite a challenge to get everything moved over, since the PCs are on different operating systems. But I am up to the challenge! :D

Please be patient with me and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Mega Pattern Pack

Hey all, I wanted to give you an update on my couple of new releases coming soon. The first is a new lot, The Brownstone. The second release is a 20 pattern mega pack full of geometric patterns. Hope you all enjoy!

What is WRONG?

As of today I can't seem to download from the site anymore. I am logged in, have fun browsing around and find the thing I really like....Then I pick one for download ..hit the button to start it and...PUFFF I get a screen where I have to log in again...This happens everytime I want to download something. Soooo Strange. WHAT can I do? My profile site shows an old story...NOT the most recent one, the "Fred in Yonderland" series.

It's really,  really annoying.

My guestbook counter says I have 14 new entrees...and that is NOT true. I have read all of them...What's going on here?

Anyone has an answer? I submitted this post to the staff as well. PLEASSSSE...I NEED some of that wonderful material out there to download!

OK...I got a reply from Thomas! I am really happy he answered me this quickly! (Yes, I said thanks...) He suggested to change my browser fron Explorer to Firefox...Guess what...It helped!

I'm off now to do some downloading before returning to the game.

Incentives Points

The incentives points have changed again for the benifet of uploaders of Sims 3 Lots.

They will get the same amount of points now as uploaders of Sims 2 lots.

I hope this will stay this way I think it's only fair after they increased the amount you need for the kudos.

A year on...

Hey everyone!

Man, it's was a year two days ago since I joined TSR (14th July).It seems like yesterday at 7:49 pm that I clicked on the button to join this amazing site. There are so many nice people on this site, I can't thank them enough for everythign they have done for me!

I don't plan on stopping any time soon! More stories to tell and more CC to create for the Sims 2. I'll probably get the Sims 3 when the price goes down form $100. 

And, oh man, I only have four days of my holidaysleft :( *Sigh* Oh well...

Currenty working on the next few chapter for Forgotten Redemption, they should be out soon (I hope...)

Hey there, I recently created two sims and  uploaded them to TSR. I wanted to thank everyone who has downloaded and made comments about them. And also for thanking me for them. lol These are my first ever uploads and it's real nice to see that people like them. I will be creating a few more sims over the weekend and hopefully upload them about the middle of next week so look out for them!

A new sim creator

Hello

I'm Cecile (The Spirit) and since the sims 3 came out I have begun to create sims. It's very difficult to create good look a likes but my experience grow up as I make sims. And my knowledge of the program must be better with time. But there is very much work to do. I work on it to give you very similar sims in the future.

Another point that I has learn is my English. My language is French/Dutch. (Belgium) And I have learn the basics on school like table, chair,....:-) TSR is a perfect school for me. (forum) And when I wrote something like this than I have my dictionary near me :-). I hope that I learn a good English fast and that you understand me a lot. You may also talk to me in French or Dutch. That's than the easy way for me to answer you correct.

And the last point that I have to learn is working with Paint shop Pro X2. I following online lessons but if your knowledge=O it is very difficult too. I have learn a few basics the last days, (you can see it on my download pictures). But it can much better.

In short: There's much work to do but I working hard. Just a little bit patience. Any suggestions about sims or pictures are welcome.

Well It thought it was time for a update.

Today july 15th I saw my Screenshot Prescott Street made the front page of TSR again this is my second shot on the page. I'm happy about it I don't get it why but that's besides the point. I hope you all like it 2 lots of this street are avalible for download tommorow the others will be friday If I can finish & upload them today.

I got tons to do. I'm working well creating a lot for you guys I love doing that by the way. I also have to prepare for my holidays.  I gotta pack and all Oh I also want to upload it before I leave my Summer present for all of you. Then I'll hear noting for a week from me

Concussion Update

I returned to the doctor yesterday, and was put on an Anti-Seizure medication. No, calm down, I'm not having seizures...not even partials. Let me explain.

The seizure medication is supposed to sedate me enough so that my brain can't process as much as it is currently, which, in turn, should help alleviate some of the intense headaches. I should be on the medication for about 4 to 6 weeks until the concussion is gone/healed/cured/whatever. Eventually, in about a week...I should be taking about three of these babies a day. If I am supposed to take them until the headaches are gone, how on Earth am I supposed to know if I'm completely doped up?

I was doing some dangerous internet researching, and discovered that all the side effects of the drug are exactly the symptoms I am having now. Disorientation, Anorexia, Headaches, etc.

Apparently, I've lost 3-4 pounds in 5 days. He asked me if I was eating, and honestly...I don't remember eating. I mean, a few times...yeah, I remember eating. I also remember it tasting absolutely dreadful. If you know anything about me, you know I don't turn away food.

He told me to eat 2 to 3 times a day regardless, and to drink plenty of water. Well, the only thing I drink is water...and if the food smells and tastes like it has been, there's no way I'm eating it. That's that. End of story. He said that my brain is not telling me I'm hungry, but it's giving me the hunger headaches.

I took my first dose of the seizure meds last night. I already hate them. They smell like vomit. I woke up this morning completely lost and confused. I could barely walk and then couldn't remember where any of my stuff was...even though it was in the same place it always is. I could barely brush my teeth. I was super dizzy most of the morning. I couldn't keep my eyes open or my head up for anything. I feel like I've been on a boat all day...rocking back and forth.

Moral of Story : WEAR A HELMET

FAQ's

Where do you get your motivation? - Lots of places! TV, real homes I see, and houseplan websites. One second I wont even be thinking about designing a Sim home, then I'll see something that sparks the flame and I'll get to building!

Do you take requests? - I don't see why not...as long as it's reasonable, and you're able to give me as many photos as possible. Just send me a msg and keep in mind the limitations of building in Sims3.

How do you make your screenshots? - I designed a specific preset for my sims screenshots in Photoshop (CS4). I also add text. If you want to try PS, I believe they have demo's available to download and try. It's worth the $ though! 

What type of computer do you play Sims3 on? - I play Sims3 on either a HP Blackbird 002 or a Gateway FX laptop.

How do you make the attached garage? - I made a tutorial, and it is in the Build A Lot forum. Just search for "attached garage tutorial."

How long does it take you to build a home? - Usually 1-2 hours. The bigger ones take a smidge longer.

Why do you leave the bedrooms unfurnished? - I furnish and landscape the entire house...except for bedrooms because I don't know what sort of family you'll be moving into the house. By leaving the bedrooms unfurnished, you're able to customize them to fit your Sim family perfectly.

How often do you submit? - I try to get at least 2 homes per week submitted...but some weeks I am only able to submit 1.

Do you still make Sims2 homes? - Not really...but I do have many available to download!

A Million and One Roofs - new tutorial!

It's out!  A tutorial for having as many different roof heights as you like in one lot.  It's very, VERY easy - not a building cheat in sight and so will suit total beginners too.  The lot on the left has no less than 9 different roof slopes!

I really hope you find this tutorial both easy and useful.  If you don't, I will of course blame you - or a technical fault located somewhere between your seat and your keyboard...

Well, I'm finally getting around to playing with my little site here. I changed the color to purple although it's not showing. I've started a gallery, but that's not showing up either. I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong. I've never done a site within a site before so this has become a learning experience for me.

Hmmmm...

I've just realised that a lot of my screenshots seem to be that hill/mountain in Riverview, don't know why...I must like the view! I'm sitting at my desk next to the window and wondering whether its going to rain or not...I live in England so it rains pretty much everyday, and its July, just before the Summer Holidays so its bound to rain at least 90% of the time...but I shouldn't gripe because if it didn't rain as much as it does it wouldn't be as beautiful and green as it is right now...

School just started this 13 and well, that means I won't have much time for my stories. But then, I could bend the rules a bit and write more chapters in advance...right? RIGHT. So I wrote three new ones and sketched this as the future cover of the next chapters.

I do hope TSR allows non-sims art as cover art though, it's still them ^^" only I drew them XD I actually tried to ink this but I ended up ruining it so I guess Photoshop's the only way to go ;_; it'll take a lot of time and energy from me, but I know it'll be worth it.

I have done it people

I have uploaded my house, the punk young girl, a rather geeky sim, and my version of Michael Scofield from Prison Break. Before those Wentworth Miller fans eeeek with excitement (yes I can hear you) please bear in mind this is the first time I have done a celeb Sim, so you may...or may not like him. With a bit of luck the lovely people at TSR will make all of the above available soon.

Pattern # 4 Coming Soon!

I just put the finishing touches on the 4th pattern I've uploaded here to TSR, and, as usual, it was made with an original Photoshop brush created by me. I dont have time to scout for brushes made by others anyway; its a lot easier and much more fun for me just to make my own.  Anyway, the new one will be out whenever they can get to it, meanwhile I have a screenshot posted for a preview. Its been so much fun making these brushes and patterns, that Im just gonna keep making one after another till they get the new tools ready for meshing, then I am gonna tackle that. I can't WAIT till they release those for us to play with!

Clothing File naming system

Hi everybody, I just thought I ought to write up a detail about my file naming system to clairify it for those who are kind enough to download my stuff. If you are new to the game or just starting out making your own stuff you might find it helpfull to adopt the system or something like it.

Example:

885069_AMB_SKS_Baggy_Studs-Red

Can be broken down as:

xxxxxx_123_SKS_Mesh shape_item general description-specifyer (Usually color)

xxxxxx = 6 digit random number assigned by Body Shop in the item creation process. on my computer I always move this number to the back, but TSR wants it in front (its original position) for submissions.

1 = Age as follows; A=Adult, C=Child, D=toDdler, E=Elder, T=Teen

2=Sex as follows; F=Female, M=Male

3=Type as follows; B=Bottom only (Pants), BS= Bottom only (Shorts), T=Top only, F=Full outfit (Everyday), FF=Full Formal wear, U=Underwear, PJ=Sleepwear, Swim=Swimwear, WO=Workout, O=Outerwear

Mesh shape is basic but gives you an idea of what mesh it goes to in this case "Baggy" = Mesh_AMB_SKS_Loosfit_Sneakers

Item general description: on this mesh there are several styles applyed so Studs refers to the pants with studded straps

Specifyer: Almost always a color that designates it from other similar items

Thus: TMT_Nude_Net-Gold would be: teen, Male, Top_ Nude fit mesh_Net style shirt- in a gold color.

I Find this system works extremely well when trying to find the right file for a specific item. If I know what the item looks like I can generally find the file without any problems.

NOTE: If you are starting to create items and you want to put in an artist name it works best if it is either short (like SKS) or if you put it at the back of the file name. Files with long artist names up front are difficult to fish through and I (& Probably most people) end up abbreviating it or simply deleting it.

I created a Jeweled Dress set composing of six different colors. I submitted and they were approved and are going to be avalible to download tomorrow, July 13, 2009!

Back to my senses!

I've spent some time whining about everybody elses' creations being better than mine. So what was I to do that would be any good?!

At last I remembered all the wonderful comments I've got from you all, and got back to my senses. I might never make it to Featured Artist or get tens of millions of downloads, but I've been quite happy myself with what I've made, and grateful for so many downloading and appreciating my creations.

So I stopped whining and made some clothes I missed having in the game. Hope you enjoy!

So I found my camera

I finally located my camera and have managed to take some before pics of my kitchen. Just a warning: I have started to clear out the cupboards so it´s rather messy and I got the urge to do some strawberry jam in the middle of it all. The last one is my ever growing pile of stuff that needs to be thrown out.

Kitchen

The box on the floor is my new cooking hood, don´t have any where else to store it and the last pig is the "trashpile". Some of it is going to the 2ndhand store, but most of it divided into bags with paper, plastic and such ready to be thrown out when my dad arrives with his car :-).

I´ll remember to post pics as the works progress.

Batavia

Batavia, now Jakarta capitol of indonesia, was a dutch settlement. The buildings in the town had Dutch architecture mixed with the indonesian architecture. The buildings are a special kind of architecture, and they look really atractive. Soon I will publish buildings build in that particulair style. The are called the Batavia Buildings. I hope you enjoy it!

Yes, it's absolutely possible - and very, very easy too!  Not a single building cheat in sight either!

The cottage on the left has no less than 6 different roof slope angles!  Cool, eh?

As soon as TSR has fixed tutorials (unfortunately, my chimney tutorial is STILL broken), I will post up a very simple tutorial showing how it's done.

Then you can make ridiculous roofs too!

EDIT: this tutorial is now written and will hopefully be released tonight (14 July) or tomorrow.  Unfortunately, the Red chimney tute is still being held up by a fault in the TSR tutorial display thingo, but hopefully that will be fixed soon.

Why there's been no stories for a while...sorry

Well I promised some people I'd have a story about Will Young out by now, but things happened beyond my control, first off Sims 3 that distracted me but I promised to get back to Sims 2 to finish the story but then my laptop decided to start overheating even thoug it wasn't even a year old.

So now I'm back on my old laptop until Fujitsu send it back and this laptop also has an overheating problem, but least this laptop is a good deal older, so I'm stuck not being able to play my old Sims 2 neighbourhood, because I can only really run Sims 2 on  this laptop, not all the expansions as well, so until I get my laptop back there won't be any Sims 2 stories anytime soon. Hopefully it will be back by the end of this week and I shall work on getting the Will story finished and out but I also have a resit to worry about in August - real life always seems to get in the way :(

Well I just thought I'd let people know what was happening just in case people wondered why the Legacy had stopped, it will continue I promise, once I get my laptop back! :)

Building or writing?

I LOVE to build houses! ....and I LOVE doing stories...It's been awhile sinceI uploaded a house because writing the story Fred In Yonderland has my full attention now. It has been a pleasure writing it together with my friend Barbara! You know...I alway worked 5 days a week, since a couple of years I work mo thru wed and therefor have 4 day weekends! Lucky me! Now I can write AND design! Ofcourse this first month I was still discovering all possibilities playing sims3, and now I also want to look into creating patterns...but I am really no good on photoshop or paintshop. I was schooled the old fashioned way...behind the drawing board. Good thing I befriended the computer late eighties and so the pc doesn't scare me ...LOL... Probably will upload the big English Manor of Chester Field III, I build together with my friend Haagje. We have been building, decorating and playing that one over the last weekend.

I decided to do both again...Building and writing...Boy, sure hope my husband is enjoying watching sports on them weekends!

Waterfall Drive/ Rose Farrel

I just wanna let you know that Waterfall Drive and Rose Farrel are a packaged but at the moment TSR doesn't allow lots with households yet so that's why there sepperate. Ofcourse your frr to download these 2 as single items.

I'm also working on a huge upload this week around thursday I'll upload a few itmes lots and probebley Sims that goes with it. That's because on Friday Saturday night I'll be leaving for Holidays in España (Spain)

No internet and other issues

I've been going through a lot of problems lately, our telephone wires were hit by a lightning and as a result I was almost two weeks without an internet connection.

The bigger problem is that my computer had a hit through the wires as well, and it broke down completely. I still don't know if all my data are ok or not (including all my sims data).

I decided not to have the old computer repaired, instead I ordered a new notebook.

It's going to take some time to get everything settled, I don't know when I'll be back with new updates. I had a sims 2 set ready, but well...It's probably gone now:/

I'm just going to publish the rest of the sims 3 uploads that I had stored in the file storage.
