Ready-to-Harvest Garden in Greenwich Arboretum?!

My next three lots will be published tomorrow, 2/26, and I have a request from those of you who will be downloading the Greenwich Arboretum. I tried to make the lot in such a way that the garden is already in bloom - all plants are in a "thriving" condition and ready to be harvested. In addition, I prestocked both juicers, and you should be able to make eight different juices. I'm just curious if the lot really does appear this way for you, or if you're having to start at the beginning when entering the lot and plant everything yourself. 

HOW I DID IT:

Since you're able to save in play mode when you send a Sim to a secret society lot, I changed the lot zoning to a secret society, maxed out the gardening skill of the Sim sent there, and played the lot until all the plants were in bloom. Once I had the garden how I wanted it, I saved it, sent the Sim home, reentered the lot in build mode, and changed the lot zoning back to community. Note: I was able to reenter the lot without a Sim because I never placed the lot in the lot bin, which would have caused the lot to disappear as a secret society should if I had put it back in the neighborhood. Happily, when testing in my own game, everything was still harvest-ready, with the juicers fully stocked. After harvesting, leaving the lot (remember - this is as a community lot now), and reentering the lot later, the plants were still in bloom and I was able to harvest the same plants a second time. Never had to replant anything, since you can't save while playing your Sim in a community lot - just left and went back. :) Sims had veggies and fruit in their inventory upon arriving home. I really, really hope it works out that way for you all as well! 

WHY I DID IT:

Although you could easily live at the arboretum for a little while, since there are tents, grills, and a shower, you could theoretically stay on the lot throughout an entire planting season if you were to start a garden there from the beginning. However, since it is, after all, a community lot, and your Sims probably have things/people to take care of on their home lots, you might not want to keep your Sim there through an entire cycle just to get some produce. Basically, I did it this way so you can access produce quickly and easily, not only so you can reap the benefits of having "mouth-watering" produce in your home juicers without the effort of gardening, but also as a way to quickly obtain something sellable for a little extra Simoleons in your Sims' pockets.

WOW--update

Well I redid all the houses I lost and all but one is now ready to download.  The last one is coming out on the 26th.  Right now i'm working on a special house, in fact my house LOL.  I'm in the wallpaper stage of it and i want it to look just right!  I'll be posting two versions of it, the way it is now, and the way i wish it was LOL.  Its a very small house but has a lot of charm.  We love living here and we hope you like using the house in your game.  I've been sick this week, so its slow going but Im hoping to have it done by this weekend or Monday at the lastest.  Thanks to everyone who has downloaded my houses so far.  If anyone has a house that they would like to be unfurished, just ask me and i'll do it for ya! The Finale For Love's Never A Choice

Sooooo sorry to anyone who's been waiting for the last part of my story, I have been super dooper busy. I've been working on it every chance I can. I just need to do some editing with the photos and such, then I'll post it. Do you still post stories like you used to? Or has it changed?? I'll have to look it up.

I can't wait till sims 3 comes out!!! I hope they didn't do what they did with spore, when you can only have like 2 or 3 computers using the program. But I can't wait to play it! Is it just me or do all the sims 3 peoples faces look really fat? Like wide? Hopefully they're not all like that. I know nobody's perfect but sims can be. lol. I just can't stand having a family of ugly sims. Oh that sounded a bit mean didn't it? I just mean that that ummm I don't know what I mean. I like having pretty sims. Best as I can describe it. Unless the ugly sim has a good back story. But I can't think of any at the moment. Speaking of story....again, I'm coming up with ideas for a new story!! I'm going to spend a lot of time on it and make it really good. I'd love to tell you what it was about but i'm afraid someone will steal my awesome idea! Now that sounded snobbish, didn't it? But I really like the idea that I have for this new story and I don't want someone doing the same thing you know? I wonder if anyone will actually read this....................

Okay I'm off to edit some Gimpy photos (foe-toss) lol starring my photogenic (foe-toge-en-ic) ....sims.

Today is my 15th birthday. For once in my life, I may not be depressed. I finally am accepted by people at school, I have more friends than last year and my time at school is way better.

Creations Update

Hi all,

The large Circus lot I have been building has had to be delayed. I tried to start up Bodyshop, something went wrong and I lost all my current in Game creations. Thankfully I had everything backed up except the actual building of the Circus lot which was lost. The 24 wallpapers were all backed up on my external hard drive so thank goodness I haven't got to start from scratch. I hope to release that in about 2 weeks. (Sorry this is a very big project, so lots of time needed to finish this set).

I have just created a starter house which will be hopefully released soon. It's part of a set of starter homes that I am in the middle of creating. I have called the set "Back to basics". Great for the new gamer or just anyone who wants to get into playing without a big lot slowing down your PC's.

I have also just about finished a lot which is called "St Patrick's Plaza". A corner lot with an fully furnished Irish themed pub/Restaurant and 3 other shops that will be decorated but left empty for you to furnish yourself. I have made about 15 St Patrick day wallpapers so they will be released as a seperate wallpaper set too. I have tried to do a parade outside the lots, but it hasn't turned out as good as I hoped, will release the snapshots before I release it,l so let me know what you all think.

I forgot all about Pancake day which is tommorow, but I may still create something with that theme and release it anyway.

Hmmmmm, what is a Blog other than a "Public Journal Entry"

I haven't been on the site very much recently, due to life having a habit of getting in the way. I've changed my major in college and I'm now heading out of the world of business management and into a completely different field. It's not a career with which I am unfamiliar, but it is unusual. I'm going to take my National Boards for becoming an Undertaker and Restorative Artist. I know, I know, some of you would say, "CREEPY"!!! But it's really not. It's not the dead that scare me one iota, it's the living. Some real people just creep me way the heck out. However, for fun I'm going to keep up with the Sims!

How many out there are looking forward to the new Sims 3???! I know that I am, and I haven't really had that much time to master all the twists and turns with 2! Sims 3 looks so unbelieveably real it's like they could be real people, places and things. Hopefully they'll come up with easier ways of creating things for the new game, that would be more fun for me.

Keep up with the great work everyone! I'm going to try and submit some things before too long.

Apartments - then and now

Right now I am working on a couple of apartment buildings, or to be honest I am working on one.

The idea is that I started out making an apartment complex in Victorian slum style. It has 23 very small apartments and is a “bit” rundown. The next step is for me to renovate it and make some shiny new apartments for the rick and beautiful modern sims.

I have finally got the hang on the lotadjuster which means that they are made so you can do a whole row of them.

Maybe upload a house..........

I have a few houses I made. I might upload them. Hopefully if my game feels like working. I just need to find out the price and the lot size. I also have a bakery I built that looks like a cute little cottage for the feel that your sims can go inside and be comfortable. Anyways I also made an Indian sim so hopefully I can get some photos of her to upload her.

Story Featured

I am very excited! Time after Time was featured on the homepage. It's not often that you get lucky enough to have something featured on the homepage. I'm not sure, but this might be my first story to be featured there, which really excites me. The comments so far regarding the story have been great.

I am also happy to report that Chapter 2 is well under way. About half of the screenshots have been taking and the story is taking shape nicely (at least in my head). Keep an eye out for it! As always, happy simming!

Apologies...

VERY SORRY for the delay in publication of the next three lots mentioned in my previous blog post. I had to pull them temporarily before being officially published at the last minute, since I realized I had packaged the lots without emptying my downloads folder first. In addition to that, I had to go out of town and couldn't fix everything until I got back yesterday. Naughty, naughty, Canuckdiva! But all has been fixed. I repackaged the lots properly and they have been resubmitted for approval. With luck, they should be published this week. Keep your fingers crossed, and check back soon!

It's all back.  Yes, that vile heap of utter rubbish I make in the name of The Sims has been restored.  Ripped with rage from the servers last week by Spooks of Poshness who only want pretty things to stay, it has since been dredged back and hopefully you will at least now make a sorry attempt to enjoy some of these items once again...

So I uploaded Heidi's portrait finally. She is very sexy and very mean. And a cruel vampire. Well, not yet, I still have to turn her into one. That's going to complete I guess my efforts about recreating the characters in Twilight. It's high time now to really play with them...:D

And in the mean time, I turned back to the painters wall series, but it's really tough. It goes so slowly and sometimes I just run out of executable ideas. I mean, I know what I want to create but my graphics software skills are so limited. Also, I can't make the Body Shop work for me. It opens in like 20 minutes, and then when I try to start a project it gets me an error message, and that's it. I haven't found any useful solution in the forumes either. It's really a pity, because I have tons of projects on my mind.

I just want to apologize for not uploading anything recently, besides preparing a little for the move I also had a bit of an issue with my game. It seems that I installed a bad piece of custom content, and in the pain of weeding it out, I vowed not to open my game again until I completely organize my downloads folder. I'm already a day into it, and don't see myself completing it until at least next week. Haha! I had a very organized folder once, then I just kind of piled it all in there in lazyness or impatience, and now, voila! A mess. But I've thought up a new system to keep organized, so hopefuly (fingers crossed) it'll stay that way this time. Anywho, yes, sorry. I've been working on a second set to my No Parking Tank Tees. Once I get my game up and running again, I'll take some preview photos, and get them uploaded. Thanks again!

My first attempt @ clothing

Hey everybody.. happy Sunday! Its snowing here again ( ugh- it has been for 2 days now. Everything had previously melted but now we have got it ALL back!) And so since its snowing I dont want to go outside! LOL And though I should be technically cleaning my house i am sitting on my rear end on my pc. On this mornings agenda- Creating clothing! So I made my first attempt using a terrific tutorial by Rockin Robin. I have a 30 day trial of Adobe photoshop CS4 ( and also last night I got myself a 30 day trial of Corel Paintshop PRO) so i was using Adobe photoshop to walk thru the tutorial step by step. I picked out a pair of ripped jeans and a tiger striped hoodie to make. WOW! its hard.. and though I was doing it .. I had to stop for now as I gave my self a headache LOL. So the clothing isnt finished yet but i will try agai later today - maybe this time I will use paint shop pro instead as Adobe Photoshop is incredibly hard to navigate- and since i have no previous knowledge of this software i think its making the task even more difficult. But i must say Rockin Robin does a great job of explaining with visual examples. I recommend that tutorial.. my problem is with patience! Clothing is way more work than objects , walls , lots etc!

The bottom line: you all WILL see a piece of clothing from me. Now that i have attempted it - i will try again. I think I will just start off making the hoodie NOT the whole outfit..I wont despise small beginnings :)

Last night I was up past midnight uploading some furniture stuff and extras I recently made. SimPE is a breeze now for recoloring. The very fact that I no longer am having problems recoloring Custom meshes tells me that I WILL figure out how to make clothing! 

So on the horizon this week will be some rugs, doormats, new Arizona sofa recolors, Bijoux wicker furniture by holy Simoly and some walls. Oh I also recolored a double front door by macarossi - there is no white recolor of this door ( that i know of anyways) but there is now! :) I wanted to use the door in one of my new lots.

As well i found some great new plants over at Parsimminous for free as i was getting bored with the ones I have now for landscaping my lots. Aslo got some new doors and windows too. I need variety when I am building!

Well thats all for now.. I presently have a massive headache LOL from trying to make clothes- i need to go take some advil and tylenol. Seriously!

Little Miss Dangerous Put on Hold

Well, the Sim I created yesterday which I was going to upload today has hit a little snag. Jackie (played by Fiona Flanagan AKA Little Miss Dangerous) has been put on hold because of her eyes. They were made by someone over at ModTheSims2 (I know, we don't talk about that over here). So, I've asked permission to upload them and with any luck Jackie should be up by the end of the week. No promises though, it depends if this person gets back to me. If not, Jackie may need (oh no! Not...) Maxis eyes.

I finally found time to complete the first part of what I hope will be an enjoyable series! It has been uploaded and is awaiting approval. I have started on Chapter 2 and am looking forward to it's completion!  Happy simming!

Friday night FUN!

So if you are reading this on Friday night then that means you have got about as much a life as I have got !LOL.

Whats on my friday night agenda? Well for the past hour I have been organzing my Sims folders...not just in game folders but also all my fabrics and textures etc. In my Mesh folders for SimPe I have been making plenty of sub-folders. I am up to my EYEBALLS in folders! LOL Talk about time consuming! AHH.. but the end results is that I will be able to find everything !

Tonight I am also uploading some recolors and walls I made last night but was oo tired to upload. And that is my night. I am sure by the time I am done organizing I will be ready for bed! As well i need to go into SimPE and fix some rugs I made .. i didnt totally like the way they turned out!

So have a great night...back to "work"!

On A Roll

Since I appear to be in the mood for making windows I decided to finally make a set I've always wanted, which is to have as thin a frame as possible and going floor to ceiling (AL) and wall to wall. There is a single window, plus side and center ones so you can make the window as wide as you want.

Still have the diagonals to do. Hopefully I won't chuck my computer off a cliff while trying to get the wallmasks lined up correctly.

SORRY FOR BEING ABSENT!

Hi everybody! I'm sorry for being absent for such a long time... I've been very busy and stuff. Besides, I've kinda lost the inspiration to make houses, but not all the inspiration! I just have to get a great idea on my mind, first. Then I start to plan the floor plan etc... I want to make something very stunning next! ;D I have a one week long holiday going on and I might get some lots ready for submitting. BUT I don't promise anything, you know what happens then... : /

School, school, school.

I may not be able to update as soon as school starts again because I'm in Year 10 and I struggle with work and barely manage to finish it. So, after the holidays finsih it maybe a while before a new chapter comes out. I will try to finsih all my work so I can get back to playing and writing to my hearts content. Thanks

Idea Strike: Flip This House

I suddenly had an idea strike to do a story of Flip This House from the channel TLC.  If the first episode does well, then I will make and post more episodes.  What I am going to do is take one of the default homes, and go through the process of remodeling it with pictures and captions.  Our hostess for all these shenanigans: Missi Marie, a single woman with some big ideas and a lot of charisma!!!

I'm thinking I'll call it Sim This House.  Original, huh?  LOL  I love random idea strikes. 

Right now I am playing Guild Wars, but I will post the first episode hopefully by Monday.

My Dark Elf things

Well, it happened that my daughter decided to become a dark elf at the school carnival. So I had to educate myself on the subject. My friends recommended to read Salvatore's Homeland and the series about Drizzt Do'Urden, which is probably the basic dark elf. I liked the story and the settings a lot, having a vivid imagination I just HAD TO create a Sim Drizzt. But it's always difficult to find the right clothes, and objects and surroundings for non-modern and non-reallife characters.

Anyway, I started experimenting, and the hair I would love to get for Drizzt is something like on this picture below. I would appreciate help from anyone on this subject.

Working on New Lots

This weeks project is going to be a couple of new lots.  A 2 Bedroom Country Cottage and an Apartment Building. I probably won't have a new chapter on the Goths up for a week or so as I am going on a building spree.

This is my dilemma....

I went to this club with my friends. It is called Liquid and it is in Swindon. It was for 13 to 18 yr olds and i am 13...towards the end of the night we were listening to this live rapper and a boy was behind me lookin at my bum. My friend told me to look around but i wouldnt coz i didnt know wat was behind me. The guy was like blatently staring and when he saw my friend tellin me to look round he acted as if he didnt do anything....i turned around and he went all embaressed and walked off. It turns out that his name is Aiden and that he goes to my friends school. He is in yr10 and he is mega mega x100 fit.

Should i make a move or just forget about it?? i really dunno i am so confused. i need help....i really really like him and i havent got a clue wat to do plz help....plz

Slower submissions

Yipee! Its Thursday - which you KNOW what that means! That its almost Friday! LOL . Soon I am off to work but i wanted to post a quick blog post to let y'all know that my submissions will be slowing down a tad. The reason: 1. Recoloring Custom meshes takes a little longer as i figure out how to make things look good 2. I need to work on my website. Of course this doesnt mean my submissions are going to completely stop - heck no! Just not 30 at a time!

I have been on a Holy Simoly Arizona sofa set kick since discovering how to recolor CC meshes on SimPE. For the LOOONGEST time I had wanted to recolor those and now that i can i have many ideas!For anyone who downloaded my Big white flowers on black bedding and Big white flowers on black shower curtain - you will be thrilled to know the Arizona sofa set with that pattern has been created and is pending approval as i write this!

As well i am currently working on the TC128 - and if what i make turns out well i will submit it for you  to download ( that is if YOu also like it!) The patterns are really lovely this week and they gotten my creativity flowing! The texture Challenges are certainly great practice to try stuff out and experiment a  little. So far I am thoroughly enjoying it!

So on the horizon i will still be making some more beddings and walls... i have some ideas for modern and retro walls. Some of the patterns are pretty far out! I dont necessary like them enough to play in MY game but I am sure somebody out there would like them. You see.. when i create.. some things are things that I LIKE ( and would use in my game ) and then others are what I totally dont like but I figure someone else would like. Everyone has different tastes so I try to be flexible.

Anyways the sun is shining here today and so off i go- have a great day!
