Hopefully though, since I'm going to drama, I will bring my laptop and maybe work on some new sims stuff. I'd also like to get my other two modern homes up. I have a whole neighbor hood that's going to be filllllllllllled with my custom homes.

More Sims Online objects

This week I'm still working on some Sims Online objects. So far I have... 1) a gameshow set with a wall light and some podiums for the host and contestants, 2) a corkboard for an office/study, 3) a generic neon sign, and 4) a working wall clock. Depending on how much free time I have this week, more items may be added.

Happy Inauguration Day!

I've enjoyed watching inauguration coverage and slacking off today....have you all had a chance to slack off today, too? I hope so. Everyone needs those days, and today was the perfect day for it! However, if you have a sudden burst of energy around, say, midnight tonight, you should definitely check things out here, because new downloads will be published. Horray! Also, if you haven't had a chance to take my poll, check it out! It's only one question - a short one, I swear! Results are deadlocked as to what people prefer in their lots, and maybe the next few of you can solve that dilemma for me. :) In the meantime, take care!

Neck Surgery & Newborn Puppies

It was a busy week last week. My hubby went for neck surgery on Wed. Jan 14th, It was to be a 5 hr operation, so I was at home in the later part of the morning, waiting for the Dr to call to say how the surgery went. Finally the Dr called and everything went well in surgery. I was then making plans to go visit the hospital when our Cavalier Spaniel went into labor! She had been watching me get ready, then insisted on sitting on my lap...and only a few minutes later she began her labor that ended up lasting 5 hours, to deliver 4 healthy and adorable puppies. No, I never made it to the hospital that day to visit, but I had talked my hubby on the phone, throughout her labor and delivery. At 8 pm, she was done delivering 4 puppies, 2 boys and 2 girls, hubby was resting in hospital and I was very exhausted from the whole day. I was tired but very glad things went well!

P.S. I have puppy pics in my profile gallery if you'd like to see them! I plan on adding more as they grow.

NOW I figured it out!

Lots of things to figure out in the new version!! Now I finally realized how to make a new blog entry (maybe I'm just slow...)

And, I also finally managed to create the teen underwear I've been wanting to do for some time now! It's actually more difficult than I first thought, especially getting the bra to look right. The alpha file (the ultimate template) is editable, but getting everything in right place, especially frills and lace... takes patience. Which I don't have that much of. But I'm happy with how they turned out.

I'm quite single-minded (or obsessed?) sometimes. I've got the hots for Simtomatic's amazing dining chair - I want one of those IRL! - so I did lots and lots of recolors of it, in order to match it with everything. So all my simmies get that particular dining chair (or one from IKEA that I also like). - I just realized I don't actually use that many chairs... But hey, my simmies don't mind!

Just came to introduce my self..I am LightSide from the sims 2 site..A creator from the creators camp, and the person who sat by padre in the lab..(Sorry for the distructive lots of mine padre, hehe)..

I became a new member a few days ago..Really thought it was fun here..I met lots of the TSR artisits like padre, estatica, steve and more..They were really nice and kind people..

I am sure I will have fun here, as I heard a lot about this great site..cant wait till I get around more, and start uploading my work here..

Junkyard Development

It seems like things has calmed down now, the links are working and all in all things look great. I am working on some additions to the junkyard development, a couple of residential lots and may be 1 or 2 community ones. Hopefull I´ll finish them this week.

Creators Camp

Sorry for not blogging when I was at the camp. Selfishly, I wanted to enjoy every minute.

The best part of this camp was meeting Steve, tug©, DOT, Padre, Estatica, Hats and Tiffany. Just like Padre, I feel blue about this coming to an end and fear we won't see each other again:(

I had an amazing time especially on Thursday and Friday nights. We had dinner on Thursday night with my TSR family in a red room:) It was the best dinner I have ever had! We had great laughs. Oh, I have some really great pics of that night but am not going to share them since Steve says if I share them he's releasing the whole story of that night which is embarassing for me lol! Friday night was just great! All creators came together at the hotel and had some drinks. Padre made us laugh so hard, my cheeks and belly hurt and tears ran down my face!  I'm going to miss them so much.

Saturday was my last day. Went to San Francisco with Suza and Jope of the SimplyStyling. Had a good time.

And here's some info about the game: CAS is really good. You can change the patterns of the clothes and colors of the patterns. Shadows and wrinkles still stay on the clothes even when you change patterns. Say you want to modify a pair of jeans: the pockets, zipper, shadows and wrinkles don't change, just the color and the pattern is what you can modify. I asked a CAS guru if it's possible to change the alpha channels of the clohtes, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to share his answer since we all signed a non disclosure agreement.

Please don't hesitate to ask any questions regarding the game.

Wow. Just wow.  Do not underestimate how silly one can be.  All these expansions and downloads later, and still wasn't getting it.  I didn't realize that a RAR file had to be opened... I never had the program to do so until now. 

MORAL OF THE STORY: when you want to try something, read up about it completely before you go for it.

Twilight

Ah, yes.  So, a couple days ago, I got a request that I make some Twilight clothes.  As in, wardrobe from the movie.  So, I set to work scouring the Internet for movie scenes, and comprable textures to use.  So far, I've come up with 3 Bella outifts.  I plan to do some Edward outfits.  And possibly one or two other Cullen outfits.  The Bella outfits turned out quite good and I'm very proud, lol.  I'll be posting those here soon, just as soon as I can take some preview pics because my game sort of keeps crashing, again and again.  I decided I would give it one more chance when I get home from school tomorrow, then it's getting reinstalled.  *sigh*

Submissions gone awry

I was all excited because I made my first submission to TSR.  I didn't test it as well as I should have before using, and well, let's just say I removed it today because there are some quirks that I can't live with.  Hopefully I'll get those bugs squished and have the new version of Desidesquare Townhomes ready for action!  (I'll test it better this time, I promise!!!)

On a different note, I am excited to start making sims to upload.  I have some extra time on my hands due to lack of work, so I figured I'd give creation a go instead of just playing the game.

Sims 3

I'm extremely excited for the launching of The Sims 3. 

I've been waiting for this since last year, & when I heard about it, I almost died!

The graphics look absolutely amazing, along with all the new features.

I hope you're able to change the body of the new sims, instead of choosing skinny or fat like in Sims 2.

That would be just wonderful. (:

Anyways, it's only a month left.

I'm not sure if I should pre-order it or wait 'til it comes out in stores.

ANDDDD, I don't know if I should get the collectors edition, which is like $20 more.

Summing it up

I've finally arrived home after what seems like spending almost my entire life either on a plane or waiting for a plane.  Now looking forward to the onset of jet lag, oh joy!

I'll now attempt to answer some of your questions on build mode.  This is by no means a comprehensive run through, there were a lot of things that I just didn't get the chance to look at and some things may still change before the final version of the game is released.  We sure gave EA a few things to think about!

To start with the neighbourhoods are no longer customisable in that you can't create your own neighbourhood design like you can with Sim City 4.  To me the neighbourhood seemed to work more like it did in the Sims 1 days.  Lots are a pre-set size and already placed although you can move houses around the hood they must be placed on a lot of the same size on which they were built.

There is currently no stage tool and without the CFE cheat I would say that split level staircases are not yet possible.  There is also no ability to place staircases on a angle so diagonal stairs are out.  You can change stair direction just buy clicking and dragging the stairs although this is best used when placing stairs on terrain rather than between floors.  There are currently no shuttered windows in the game, window shutters are available as separate buyable objects.  The trashcan and mailbox can now be moved freely around the house and even recoloured however the door nearest to the mailbox will be treated as the main doorway and thumbnail that depicts your house will depend on the position of the mailbox.  There are no half walls in the game but there is a good range of new fences and even a nifty no maintenance hedge fence.  As you probably know, cars are included in the base game. Driveways are no longer tied to the road but can be placed anywhere at all on the lot.  There is no longer an animation for the car backing out onto the highway, it just 'teleports'.  You can also start building with the auto roof tool already enabled although I personally wouldn't recommend doing that unless you want roofs ending up in strange places!  There are also no pre-set dormer roofs.

You may have also read in Steve's blog about being able to grab walls and drag them.  Very useful if you want to add extensions to your house.  It even keeps items that are placed on/against walls in position as you drag the wall out and automatically keeps the decor - (wallpapers & floors).

I know that many of you were expecting many of the features of AL to be included here, however this is not the case.  Objects cannot be moved up and down walls for instance and it's back to one family per household although sims now have the ability to roam the entire neighbourhood and visit any house they choose.

Sims cannot yet run home business's.  You can still have/build community lots although these are quite limited and can't be owned or run by sims as in OFB.  The default hood comes with a town square area.  Many of the buildings here are not actual built lots but rather meshes instead.  You can't follow your sims into these structures although they can visit them to eat or learn skills.

Well today wasn't the best of days I've had. A physics exam which I pray i've passed, an argument with a gang of people who love to upset everyone else, my mum's ill and everything's just getting on top of me. I haven't made any lots in a while, with all these family and moral issues i'm having at the moment.

But I recieved a comment from one artist that took the time to write in my guestbook, a comment which really cheered me up.

JCIssette - I want to thank you, if you read this :P, your comment made my day worth it! It might sound cheesy but I really appriciate it.

Then I thought that I would create some more Lots and possibly some celebrities, for you all to enjoy. Plus, I look forwards to getting more Kudos and making a banner and choosing a colour scheme to make my profile all that little bit more "me"

Well, hello fellow members! I have been submitting a few lots, all at an inconsistent pace. I'm sorry if some of you expect more lots created by me, because the bad news is that I might not submit my next lot for the coming few months. I am really packed with schoolwork, talentime rehersals and co-curricular activities.

However, that doesn't mean I haven't been playing The Sims 2 and haven't been building lots. I have finished a total of 3 houses, which I am planning to submit by the end of June 2009. I will upload a sneak peek on one of my houses I plan to submit soon. So, enjoy that! :)

Perhaps within the expected time frame, I might be able to find time to build more so that I can share with others here on TSR. :)

SIMPE and VISTA!!!

OMG!!!! I had to put the new patch in simPE for Mansion & Garden... Boy did I have problems getting it to work.... I had to put simPE for Apartments on first and then the new patch for Mansion $ Garden.. But it wouldnt load the game objects and couldnt locate the CEP files.... Then I discovered why... DUH!!!...... When installing simPE on Vista you have to install as administrator (right click on icon and run as administrator) and likewise for the patch..(when you have done this go to your simpe folder in program files and look for the folder called Data in there you will find a file called folder.xreg, you MUST delete this file after installing the patch for Mansion and Garden). Then when you wish to use simPE again run as administrator.. Thought I would post this info here it might be of help to someone using Vista... I was going to retire at one point..I was so fed up...lol

She's baaaaaack!!!

Whoopee! The dead PC turned out to be a dead monitor, so I'm now the proud owner of a new 22" widescreen that's so gorgeous I've lost all feeling in my posterior from sitting in front of it for so long. A whole month without a PC! Without downloads! Without Simming! I was headed for the rubber room, let me tell you.

I got back in the swing of things just in time to endure the new V7 site in all its glitchy glory. It is improving, slowly, and admin is doing a good job of addressing people's complaints and trying to accommodate everyone's preferences. It will be interesting to see how the final version shakes out.

In the meantime, The Sims looks freakin' awesome on my new monitor and though there's some odd stretching in the control panels, the game itself looks perfect and incredibly sharp and clear. My old 17" Dell only had the AVG hookup; this new monitor also has DVI, and man, what a difference! Analog can't compete with digital.

Evi inspired me

So I decided to make a Kidz Universe, but I will call it Kidzverzum.

Itt will be a great place for kids, all sorts of fun things to do there. Playground and activities. Currently I am collecting cool content so that I can make really good shots of it. The whole inspiration came from Evi's kids stuff. She seems to be totally dedicated and I like this kind of dedication. I like if people have plans for life or paths to live by, or aims, or such. I'm not saying I dislike people who don't stick to something exact. I am myself such an extrovert and busy with all kinds of parallel thoughts and interested in everything. It is just that I admire and appreciate such folks who can "concentrate".

Anyway, I am working on this now, and it fits well into my concept of creating lots that are themed lots or serve a particular purpose. (The library, the sports center and the prison so far :D).

And yes, I will get back to the painters series regarding walls, but my little daughter wants to be involved here, and we got stuck with Gustav Klimt. She is now learning to use CorelDraw and so I want to give her enough time to play around with it.

3 New Lots

Tonight, I have submitted three new lots, my first new ones to the site in a long, long, long time.  Also, this Tuesday, January 20, the Mansion and Garden Match Set will be published!  I should mention, however, I could be a little while again before I submit more stuff, as I will resume classes tomorrow, so I will only be working on stuff as time allows.

Leaving Comments...

As you know, there are a few bugs still being worked out with the new system. One of those is that artists aren't able to see that they have new comments to read. Now, those that know me know that I pride myself on answering every comment I get personally. No "blanket thanks" or copies here. I write each note individually. Some days it's easy. LOL! Some days it takes a while.

Unfortunately, I can't do that right now as I don't know who has posted what, or where. I have been assured that this is being worked on, though they aren't sure how long it will take to implement. I want all of you who have posted comments on any of my lots or tutorials to know that the minute they are back up I shall be once again thanking you properly for your kindness, and for using your own valuable time to leave me a little note letting me know how you feel about my creations.

Upcoming Submission News, Jan. 18th, 2009

For those of you who haven't checked it out yet, my first two university lots (dorms and a restaurant) have already been published. The next two are on their way! One of them is just a simple historic marker - not much to it, but I figure every university ought to have one. The tower is a good place to get some fresh air, play a little chess, or enjoy the view six floors up. The second one is a lot I am particularly excited about. Since gaming degree programs don't seem to be particularly common in real life, I tried to make something that would cater to my gamer students without making an actual school for gaming. I decided that my school's secret society would be the place for my gamers to fulfill their dreams. You can almost think of it as a Free Time secret hobby lot for gamers that is made specifically for the university level. It has everything a gamer could possibly want, in addition to some career rewards that enforce the lot's secrecy (such as a couple of cow plants near the entrance and the lie detector so your Sims can practice feigning knowledge of the lot's existence). ;) I hope you'll enjoy it!

Creator's Camp - Looking Back

I am home now, the flight back was less stressful and faster. We actually landed 30 minutes early. The instant I met up with Charles and Chica, we went to get some food. It was amazing...I actually ATE for the first time in a week! ...I will NEVER forgive EA for that. 8]

It is sad that I won't see any of them again unless I win the lottery and go visit their respective countries, or we all get invited to EA again. The chances of that may be very slim, I don't know. I was sickly Friday night, so I didn't get to go down and say goodbye to everyone. But, it's not like I can't talk to them. Just an odd thought...never seeing them again.

All that aside, I've been asked plenty of times what about Sims 3 am I looking forward to the most. I will certainly have to say the Create-A-Style aspect. Gone are the days of Maxis Mush invading our houses and community lots. We can now appropriately coordinate everything and fully furnish a house that has matching furniture!

I am also super excited about the personality traits. I was playing around with them on Friday and I am just so excited about the 100's of different interactions there are. I put a Hopeless Romantic/Loner with a Party Animal/Committment Issue Sim and the chemistry and interacctions there are just great. 

I'm actually headed out soon to begin looking at new computers. I know this ol' dino won't run Sims 3 as well as I want it to, so I will need to get something else. The only problem is where am I going to put it!?

Beginning Modern Room Series

Hi all again,

I am going to start with my modern living series. I will include clothes, objects, sets, and hopefully a car! All of this will most likely be free for use because, hey, they're not going to make me premium any time soon. I'm just in this for the fun and giving to the community.

Anyway, if anyone would like to help me with this project, you can reply to this post or sign my guestbook. I will be posting images and more to my blog later on when I have more objects complete.

Ill be learning how to create meshes and such, so bear with me as I get started with this. Im using blender now, instead of Wings3D.

Corrected File Now Showing

The corrected end table is now showing up in the NK Cubist Dining set.

Ordering of set items seems to not be working so my latest set starts off with the two blank walls. Again, they show up fine in v6, but not in v7. Download just fine in either one.

I will try to find some time to work on the bookcase today or tomorrow and get that out to you as well.

I spent a lot of time yesterday making collection files for myself for some of my wall and floor sets. Might release some of those collection files so you can use them too. I'm finding them quite useful!

Also spent time making screenies for kitchen supersets featuring each kitchen item all together by color for those who are particular about their color schemes. Those should come out fairly soon as well.

Need to find some time for a new poll as well, but I want to give it a few more days to make sure the poll section is working as it should.

Lots to do, so I better get to it.

The Sims 3 Creators Camp

Hi all!

It's my last day in San Francisco. I'm heading back to Turkey in a couple of hours *sigh* :.{

There are many things to say about The Sims 3 but too little time to write. If you have any questions about the new CAS (Create a Sim) and Create a Style tools, just ask and I'll see if I can answer.

Building Again

It was a little bit hard to catch up with my life, but now that I've done it, I'm back to building, at least in the week-ends :D

And I also think I'll start to update this small blog just for my sims lives.

Im back!!

After staying away from the Sims for a while, because I had discovered a new game to play on, I have decided to come back to The Sims and The TSR community. One of those reasons is the feedback I get from my objects/clothing. Every time I uploaded something, I always got positive feedback on it (even though I do accept criticism). That just helps self esteem a lot. So I just wanted to say thanks to all the people who thanked me for any of my objects. I will be making more and more in the future, just as soon as I learn how to use blender. I will still be making clothes, but with more of an artsy feeling because I just got Photoshop back on my computer. If you've heard of my bedding series, I will be creating more of those too. Lets see, my to do list for today, get SimPE back, get that bedding program back, and learn how to use blender.

If you havent heard of blender, its a great tool that's free. They even made their own E-Book on how to use it, that of which, is also free.

End of the Ride

The final day at EA campus and a chance to finish off anything we might have been building/creating.  I also took the opportunity to upload a few furniture sets to the exchange and create a sim family for upload.  It was also fun to play the game a little more because I've been so busy with the building aspect of the game the gameplay side has been sadly neglected by me.

In the afternoon we all gathered together for some fun and games with a plumbob cookie decorating contest.  Sadly my efforts were somewhat pathetic to say the least but it's amazing what some people can do with a couple of cookies and a tube of icing!  Afterwards we were given the opportunity to see what everybody else had been working on throughout the week and prizes given for the best (and in some cases the most unfortunate) custom content.

Finally it was time to gather in the hotel bar for some farewell drinks with the guys from EA.  It was fun to catch up with everyone and discuss what we'd experienced through the week.

Before I sign off from the US and head back home I'd like to say a huge thank you to the guys and girls at EA for giving me this wonderful opportunity and for being so welcoming.  It's been a blast guys!  I've made some awesome friends here and would love to return again some day.  I also want to thank TSR, without you this wouldn't have happened.

Ok, mushy bit done!  Now, I'm off to do a bit of sight seeing!  See you all when I get home.

I'm working on my last AngelamvmEliza lass Bathroom. It should look moodful and luxurious with smoked glass, red metals and a velvet rug. The first result is a bit disappointing, pink was definetely not planned.

My first Blog!!!

I don't usually use or rather write blogs but recently I have been writing in place of a friend in our school website and I liked it so I thought I'd give it a shot.You may write many different things in a Blog,but I'll be using this blog to tell you about my upcoming items and of course my opinion on many different stuff,so for those few that will be reading this (I'm not one of the very popular artists but everyone can have a go at writing a blog,right?) I will be posting ideas for lots that I might upload or walls and preview images for them.This week I've been watching Katy Perry's Hot'n'Cold simlish video-WOW this song is catchy even in simlish!- and I was staring at those awesome apartments shown there for about an hour.What a waste of time someone might thing but it wasn't a waste at all!As soon as I first watched the video inspiration struck, BIG time and I thought "Hey, maybe I can recreate these Lots and upload them for the sims fans to have a piece of this video!" ,since then I made the first Lot and now I'm working on a second one.

The first one, which I have already uploaded and is now on "PENDING", is the building that is first shown that sim-Katy is living:

for the outside I used the building
in the video but the inside which took a lot of work is my desing if it wasn't I wouldn't and couldn't upload this Lot. It has three floors with one apartment on each floor.The apartments are furnished but the decoration might require a bit of your touch.The outside is a bit tweaked because well I can't copy paste things it just isn't nice,and the attached apartments on the back of the building shown in the video would need a huge Lot and,well,I think the Lot looks kinda better this way!Well when it cames out make sure to try it out it is really worth it-and I'm saying this not because it is my Lot but because I think it really is cool!It will be in the apartments section under the name:High Lane Apartments.
