Downloads Explosion!

So a few short days ago i was complaining that my downloads had been cut in half since the new TSR version 7 had started up. And it was true .. for one day .. thats it. Now I feel as if I have put my proverbial foot in my mouth..lol.. as in the past two days I have had DOUBLE what I used to get.. the other day I had 6100 downloads in a single day! WOW! Previous to the new version on average i would get anything in between 2000- 3000 per day. Now it is anywhere from 4000- 6000. Amazing.. simply amazing.Thanks to all the downloaders! Really THANK YOU and I hope you are enjoying my things!

I have been kicking around the idea of starting my OWN website.. as I learn to recolor CC meshes and eventually try my hand at my OWN meshing. It would be a free site but with Donation possibilities.. as i dont want to make money but lets face it.. web hosting and bandwidth cost money and I am not exactly rich... barely middle class really. I would definately need help to keep things running as my hubby would not like me footing the bill of something like that just cuz its my "Hobby". So pelase let me know your thoughts on that one... maybe shortly i will do a poll to get an idea of who would be interested.

UPCOMING!

We seem to be having some problems with our minisites and the new v7 submissions, in my case. So I wanted to be sure everyone understands that I have several new creations, lots and sets in the making! Be patient! I have to say, I miss v6. (sigh)

Hey guys..

This is my first post in this blog and I have nothing really positive to say!

I don't know why my creations do not show up on my minisite, but they're findable in the downloads section, it's my Angelina Jolie and my Agyness Deyn sims. I hope I will solve this problem but I'm not really happy with this new site, the old one was more easy to handle, although I must say that the new design of this one is quite stunning.

I just have to apologize for not writing on my story, I promise there will be further parts but I don't know when I will find the time to do so, I haven't played the sims game for months, so it's pretty difficult to keep up with my work. Sorry for those who liked my story, I hope you will be patient!

I'm also planning to make new sims, I just don't know when, but it's in the planning haha. :)

Hi Everyone

I have been very busy lately trying to figure out what I'm going to do with a large inventory of homes that I have been working on for Sims 2 over time. Due to the upcoming release of The Sims 3, I am curious if many people are still going to play Sims 2. I will be cutting my Signature Collection to only 4 homes. (See my upcoming edition in the pic below)

I will be still creating for the Sims 2 for anyone that is still going to play it (at least while there is still interest!)...I'll be just cutting back for now and almost all homes will be unfurnished. So I will have more time to come up with some new and great ideas for Sims 3.

 

Sneaky sneak preview of my new lots

hi all, So i have been on a bedding frenzy lately as you can see by my latest uploads.It so happens I found 2 terrific fabric websites so i have been having a great time whipping up beddings galore! LOL I have MORE coming out this week so brace yourselves! lol BUT I also want to use the fabrics for more curtains ( as I have noticed downloaders seem to be liking my Cornerstone curtain recolors :)and also for some new shower curtains for all the showers ( cheap to expensive) I have also made two new lots. I am giving the Starter Home series a rest for a while ( unless people really want me to make more.. if so just sign my GB or something and let me know!)These two new houses are pretty fancy are fully landscaped but come unfurnished. ( Again if anybody wants me to start making an unfurnished AND furnished version just let me know!) TSR Madness

With all the madness of the launch of TSR v7, I've decided to hold off for a bit before releasing the Shop Set add-ons. But I have to say I'm VERY happy with how they worked out. I'm trying to make items that have as much flexibility of use as possible, without your needing a million individual items.

So in the meantime I'm going to try my hand at making the dresses on the rack into ones for your Sims to wear. Making textures for clothing isn't my forte, but I'll give it a try.

Hopefully the bugs will be ironed out soon and I'll have something for you in the next week.

New Year - New Site - My Thoughts!

Hi All!

Well, I've been checking out the new site and trying to get my minisite organised over the last couple of days - with some degree of success!  guess it's going to take a bit of getting used to, but I like the navigation tabs, and also the 'My TSR' and 'Dashboard' menus (now I've got them sussed out!). Not so sure about all the new 'pods', particularly on my minisite - I'd like to be able to re-arrange them, but there doesn't seem to be a 'move' option, or even a 'delete' option if you add one then decide you don't want it anymore - perhaps I just haven't found them yet or they'll be added later!

I like the 'Gallery' idea, although I did have a lot of issues trying to get it to work properly! I discovered that, even though it says you can add more pictures by editting it, when you actually try to do that, it comes up with error messages and won't let you add any more. It seems that you have to upload all of the pictures you want in a gallery when you first set it up - I'm hoping this will be changed so that you can add additional pictures at a later time if you so wish.  It also gives you the option of 'Add Gallery', but when I tried this, it said I already had one and couldn't have any more! I hope we can have additional galleries in the future.

Maybe I'm going blind, but the 'Feature This' option for my downloads seems to have disappeared! We have the 'Featured Items' pod, yet I can't find a way of changing or adding any of my items - has anyone found this yet? If so, please tell !

Another thing I miss is having the mini avatars shown by posts in my GB - picky I know, but I'm a visual person and it made it so much easier if you were looking for a message from a certain person, or even to see if you'd been to someone's GB to leave them a message (old age you know - memory isn't what it used to be!!).

Anyway, overall I think the site is now a lot more snazzy and brighter, and it's like with anything - the more you use it, the more familiar it becomes!

Winter Wonderland

Hi everyone!

Just trying to be warm and cozy here today.  The view outside my window is that of a shaken snow globe!  It's been snowing pretty flakes of snow for about 12 hours now, and it doesn't look like I'll be able to go and do much outside at all.  (I love having these kinds of excuses to stay inside and play Sims!)  :D

I apologize ahead of time for the look of my minisite at the moment; I went nuts adding "pods" then discovered that currently the ability to move and remove them is down.  So, please bear with me.  As soon as I can fix it, I will. :)

For some reason, I've been very nostalgic lately and have been playing Sims 1.  I really really really love Makin Magic and the Sims 2 version of that (in Apartment Life) just doesn't cut it for me.  And, while we're on that topic, am I the only one who LOVES the music in Makin Magic?  I wish there were more lots in Magic Town for my Sims to live in because I love the build/buy music. :P  I need to figure out how to copy those music files and add them to my Sims 2 or something!! :D

So, I'm at that stage where I've created a heck of a lot more than i've uploaded anywhere. I'm going to work on changing that though, and thought maybe I'd add a few Terms and Conditions to save any repition. And my Terms and Conditons as of January 10, 2009 are simply...whatever. I don't need any credit, or acknowledgment. As I'm just a clothing recolorer at the moment, and a noob recolorer at best, you may do whatever you will with whatever I create. All I ask is that if you enjoy my recolors that you hit the thankyou bar! It's nice to know if someone is liking whatcha do.

The Sims 3! Whooooooo!

I am so excited at the prospect of The upcoming Sims 3! Wow, I remember playing on Sims 1 LOL! Anyway, over Christmas I was chatting away to fellow Simmers in the Sims 3 Forums about what kind of Idea's would be great for the new expansion packs.

This is based on what I wrote.......

"I would love to see an expansion like a Zoo". Whenever I get my neices to stay over they are always talking about animals and days out. I loved all that kind of stuff when i was a kid, still do! It would be nice to be able to choose from a small selection of animals and build your own zoo to visit in one of the neighborhoods. (Some animals from the game "SimAnimals" would be good!) You could call it "Sims gone wild". You could have your photo taken, build different cages and even have a Buggy type car that you could drive through certain Animal Exibits for a closer look. There could be an Educational Centre and a look out Tower!

A Theme park would be great too. Hotdog/popcorn stands, Fair rides, and clowns etc. I have been into The Sims since The Sims 1 and I played constantly in Magic town. The Magician was great, you could preform a few tricks etc. The roller coaster was another good feature. You could select different shaped tracks, which I really enjoyed building. Apparently It was the best selling expansion pack for Sims 1, so obviously there is a market for that theme. One of the funniest features was having a black hole in your garden that you could just pop off into, to get to Magic town.

A Space/Science Fiction type one would be good too. We could have a neighborhood that was a galaxy with a planet you could visit, instead of actually being on the earth. On the load up screen you could have a picture of a rocket or spaceship. The Npc's could be Aliens. You could call it "Sims out of this world". I personally would love it, as I was a big fan of Star Wars.

Also what about a Superhero one? Could you imagine what children they would have? Mix spiderman type powers with the Hulk etc. Your Sims could be like Clarke Kent in Smallville, having to deal with all the villians in the Neighborhood.

Hows about Dreams. The expansion could be called "Fantasy Sims"? You could go to a dream realm where there is pixies, goblins and fairies. It could be like a Lord of the Rings type place that you can only access via entering "Dream Mode". There could be different options for kids like a Fairy tale theme. Medieval for male adults with knights and horses. Faires and Nymphs for Female adults. Elders could turn into water babies LOL!

I have just spent some Kudos on the Poll feature. I have a Poll on my page now. This is a feature I have wanted for some time. I hope when you vist my page, that you can spare a moment to just check out my Polls and take a vote. It's always good to hear what others think on here. I am constantly having Ideas for creations and would love some input on what people want. I have just got Photoshop CS for meshing, I do have the Latest Maya too. A very talented Creator, i came across, works with the photoshop CS, so he has Inspried me to have a go with that. I am thinking that maybe I can try out stuff like cereal boxes for all our Simmy Shops as it's very basic. I think that would be an easy choice for my first mesh. We will see how it goes!

Competitions

Hi All,

I entered my first Competition on another site last week. (Sim Enems). You had to create a banner for the site. Either 1 for the whole year, or 1 banner for each calender month. I had so much fun playing around on Photoshop that it gave me enough confidence to enter the current TSR Competition. "Yard and Gardens Theme".

I have been busy setting up gardens and taking photos in the game. I have uploaded 3 or 4 so far. I see that there is some really lovely submissions. Looks like people have been working hard and having fun too. There is some great prizes up for grabs! Good Luck to all who are entering. xx

My First Blog

Hooray is all I can think of to say! I am thrilled to death about this new version of TSR. The biggest reason is this new Blog. I litterally spent months pining over my lack of kudos and my inability to gain more. (I just don't have the time to create thousands of items.) Anyway, now I get the blog and the customized profile page for FREE!

That is so super awesome!! I can spend my kudos on more intesting things, like polls and color themes. Speaking of the color themes, I tried changing my page to pink, but it doesn't want to work just yet. That's okay though, there are a few bugs for TSR to sort out. Woo boy am I glad I chose to subscribe to this site...gosh that was almost five years ago when the Sims2 was just a gleam in our eyes.

Anyway, maybe I'll be able to make some friends on this site, people I actually know about. It'll be nice to know someone as obsessed with this game as I am. My husband thinks it's a bit of an addiction, but I've had the sims even longer than I've had him so...hmm..

My Tutorial is Out

Hello guys. My tutorial has been out at the exact day TSR upgraded to v7. You can download it as pdf file now. I doubt if it will get noticed or even make it on frontpage like the articles published in v6. I'm not sure if I like this whole new lay-out. It's hard to navigate and very slow. I had a profile page counter before, now gone. I don't like this really and or it may take a long time before I get used to this...

The new v7 has all sort of new bells and whistles. I'll have to get accustomed to them. I will post pictures of my latest lingerie for adults that I'm working on after I get them together.

First Blog: Introduction, Random Thoughts, and Things to Come

Hi All!  My name is Crystal.  Most people here call me Nicole due to my user name, which is fine by me if that's what you prefer.  It's actually my middle name, and the story behind Msnicoleking becoming my online moniker (here and a few other places) is a silly one from long ago, but I won't get into that :-P. 

I've been playing Sims since the Sims 1 base game came out.  It all began when my best friend, Bobby, got the game and we'd stay up together until the wee hours of morning playing it.  The rest is history.  I started creating stuff when Sims 2 came out.  Nothing major, just lots, walls, and floors mainly, and some tee shirt recolors.  I always wanted to try the harder stuff like object recolors or meshes, but I don't think I have the patience to learn, but moreso I don't think I'll get too far with mspaint :-P  A few years ago I was into making music videos with Sims 2.  Unfortunately all those were lost in a harddrive mishap and I never got back into it.

Lately I've been mostly playing the game.  I do have a community lot ready to upload here soon (a flower shop).  Also, This weekend I'm going to be starting on a project I've had in my head for a few years.  I won't give too much away, but I'm really looking forward to adding these lots to my fairy/fantasy area of town.  They'll be made with Sims 2 base game and University only so more people can use them.  And thanks to my boyfriend, Mario, for letting me take over his computer and install those two games on it to make them.  :-)

I can't believe that Sims 3 is almost here!  I have mixed feelings about it, because I'm still enjoying Sims 2, but overall I'm pretty excited.  I'm really looking forward to a lot of the new features.  I'm a little leery of the new aging system.  But, I'm keeping in mind there will probably be a way to turn it off if I totally hate it.  I'm going to miss some of the great CC I've accumulated over the years, wings being high on that list.  But mostly I'm really excited for it, and I'm sure I'll still play the Sims 2.  At least for a little while, for I'm still enjoying Apartment Life a great deal!

Also, I love the new TSR!  Great job on the new site devs!

V7 Issues

Judging by the way things are moving on the TSR site, it doesn't look like the v7 redesign is going to come out of its beta stage for a while. There are a LOT of bugs and it's going to take the mods/staff here a while to sort it all out.

I'm not happy. I really enjoy posting my creations here on TSR and the great feedback I get from all the members, so I won't say much about the new design other than to say I do not like it. At all.

My hope is that I'm not alone and that the TSR staff will take in the criticism and feedback to refine the design so that it is able to serve the needs of all members.

As far as the MH Kitchen goes, I'm still continuing with my plan to release it either this weekend or early next week--but not on TSR. I just don't see how they can possibly work out ALL the bugs and ALL the issues in that short a time.

Uploading to TSR has always been a bit of a fussy process (which I can understand--keeping hundreds of thousands of downloads organized is NOT easy), but the site issues would make uploading a set a headache I have no desire to deal with.

Some of you know that my creations are also available elsewhere in the Sims community, so keep your eyes open for the MH Kitchen.

I look forward to being able to upload it to TSR, but as of now I can't say when that will be.

It's a New Year

Hope that your new year is filled with wonderful surprises and plenty of success! Even though I had wanted to get back to creating I can't seem to draw away from playing World of Warcraft. It's an amazing MMO with a zany community. Which isn't to that I've given up on Sims. One day I'll get that creating bug again. Until then though it's a wild downloading spree for me! Anyways, here's to an exciting and fun-filled 2009 for all. Take care!

The New TSR

I wrote this comment in response to the developers' request for feedback on the new site:

"My first impression?  I hate it.  Sure it's shiny, but if you were aiming to make it easier for people to find things, you have failed.  It's harder than ever to locate a specific item on the front page.  Haven't you guys heard of the old saying "less is more" ?  You have so much information in such a small space, the images keep getting smaller and smaller and the numerous pods are ridiculously undersized.  Give people the option to remove the pods that they never intend to use (both on the front page and on their profile pages), and don't make it so hard to figure out how to remove them.  Accessing profile pages, forums, private messages, live chat, submission areas and the download database should only take one click.  The best websites are the ones that don't require you to spend 30 minutes looking for or doing one small thing."

Maybe I'll get used to it, but I have to say ... I'm not really happy about it.

HEY 2 TSRs!!

So okay there is the old version this one.. beta 6? and now the new one version 7. I like this old version alot better.. i find it easier to navigate and not as slow.. so is this old version gonna get shut down totally eventually??????

Sanctimonious yap - in triplicate!

Yes, my senile ramblings are appearing THREE times on my new minisite.  I don't believe anyone else has yet achieved that dubious accolade.  Therefore, I expect you think that my ego is SO huge that I want you to read what I write three times over and have been given special privileges to frame my sanctimonious yap in every available space...

Of course, that is true.  It is nothing to do with my impatient click....click..click-clickClickClickClick CLICK CLICK!!! behaviour yesterday when trying to click these pod-thingos we add to our sites...

At first, my thought was simply to walk away, whistling innocently and, when challenged about the state of my page, I would simply put on my best shocked voice and exclaim: "It wasn't me!  Oh NO!  SUCH a mess!  What HAS someone-who-is-not-me done?!!!"

But as I always do that, I guess my game would be up anyway.  So yes, I borked my site through my own usual bad temper.  Now you have to pay for it by being greeted by the messy result - in triplicate!

Okay... I just wanted to tell every one that if you want to download any of my homes please use the GREEN arrow save it to your down loads, and take it out of the zip folder, and then turn on and off your game! Have fun with new TSR. Happy Simming!

TSR V7

I love it. It's taken me a bit to get a new minisite up and going, but I think I am happy with where I'm at right now. Of course, as time progresses and more things are made available for customizing...this whole area may change. Just remember, change is the only thing permanent.

The Popple Legacy

hey everyone. thanks for reading my stories, i really appreciate it. so far, the popple family has been through a lot. natasha popple has gotten married to trent pederson and is now pregnant. i have some good news, and some bad news though. the BAD news is that i've decided to discontinue the story. i feel that it was drawn out too WAY too long, and honestly i'm tired of playing it. BUT!! the GOOD news, is that a new Legacy will be on TSR soon enough, this time with a quirky guy and some dialogue back and forth between me and my buddy. =) so thank you all tons for reading, and hopefully i'll be reading your comments on my new Legacy hopefully to come out in the next week or so.

Testing the new features of TSR

I am just about to click all over here and test the new site. I have mixed feelings sofar. A lot of things are not straightforward, and I am angry somewhat about the fact that my photos were deleted or left on the old server or whatever happened to them. The whole thing also seems to be very very very slow, but I hope it's because perhaps thousands of TSR users are heavily bombarding the site at the moment and also exploring the place. Funny, it's like investigation a new EP :)))

YOU ARE GREAT ARTISTS truly and I THANK YOU for sharing your work....

the detail with which you have created these designs is magnificient. I am an artist who sells paintings on canvas...and I admire the care and dedication that it has taken to do what you do! Though I've not thank ed individually (my apologies).

I seem to have trouble with my computer and have had to wipe my harddrive clean 6 times in the past few months. I lose all your work and my fun....because I don't like to play without your custom content.

Back from vacation

I'm back from my family vacation. It was.....interesting. I'll just leave it at that because TSR is a family site.

Speaking of the TSR site, I have no idea what's going on with the layout redesign. Everything seems to be really wonky still. I From my end, a lot of the new features are either incomprehensible or aren't working.

 

I planned to upload the MH Kitchen this weekend, but there are still so many weird things going on with v7 that I don't know if I should wait until some of the bugs have been worked out before doing that.

Hopefully they can get things up and running so I can move forward with the MH release.

Well, nothing new around here. I've been a little away from here, and it sees: I have practically made nothing for the sims for about one year, save for some lot which you can find at TheSimShack.com.

 

I've just discovered the new layout of the site, which I find amazing!! It looks more rounded, and user friendly... Still gotta go to the forums, to see if anything has changed, haha.

Cant upload new creations!AARRGGHH!

Okay so I am still in Gripeing mode re: the new version of TSR. I realize staff has obviously put alot of time and effort into this project and they must of had to for Sims 3. The old version wouldnt of been able to handle the amount of stuff that will come out once Sims3 is released.

However it is still sloooooow.. hard to find things...cluttered looking and a little hard on the eyes...also I cant upload anything for 2 days now. I have a new set and about 50 new objects and a new lot...when i try to submit i get the Error -Category tree failed dialog box.. even after refreshing etc. I sent a message to staff.. as this will now stop my publish dates and push them back.Perhaps I will try version 6 ( aka the old version and see if I can upload anything and then it will show up here?) We will soon see....

Another complaint: i have noticed the no# of downloads has decreased daily by almost half... yes maybe people just dont like my new stuff LOL but i think its more like people cant FIND my stuff or any stuff to download it LOL. I usually have an average of downloads i get and also comments.. and it has decreased trememdously in 2 days. I am sure it will pick up again as people figure the site out .. my concern is for downloaders who arent technically savvy being frightened by the new site... i know it was pretty daunting looking to even me at first! And my 10 yr old was like WTH? and I had to show her where stuff was!
