VINTAGE TAKES LEAD
AND PEOPLE THOUGHT WE ONLY RESEMBLED EACH OTHER IN LOOKS. NOW U KNOW WHY SHE IS MY FAVORITE ACTRESS.
I'm a Select Artist!
Wow...Some of you maybe know what I do feel now...What can I say - it's an amazing feeling!!!I still can't believe that it's true and I'm not sleeping, lol, but it seems to me that I'm not...
At first I want to thank you Thomas for giving me an opportunity to show my skills here at TSR! And it's so exciting to be appreciated in such a great way!
Secondly I want to thank you all kind people of TSR who had supported me, believed in me, signed in my GB, wrote good comments on my creations, it's very very warm feeling to know that people like what you do and that they look forward to see your upcoming creations! And, of course, thanks so much to all who congratulated me with my unbelieveable promotion! I'll answer to all your feedback tomorrow!
Also hope that you'll like my upcoming lot.
Best regards,
entirely yours,
Marina
Bang! Bang! Bang!
That's the sound of my head hitting the wall. I was so thrilled to have fixed the problem of my invisible content. Went back through Simpe and did not change the names on the textures and all the vintage posters showed up just fine. Of course I had to flip them all horizontally as they were originally displaying as mirror images.Uploaded everything to TSR. Decided just to be on the safe side, to download and test a few. Did so. No object. Sims2pack claimed to have installed the files, but nothing was showing in the Downloads folder. Tried multiple times, no go.
Aaargh. So am going to have to work on this some more to see what dumb thing I've done now. The vintage posters are really cool...actual posters that recently went up at auction. I have a bunch of travel posters as well as some circus, magic, and general advertising pieces that are so cool! Posters go back as far as 1896 and are in terrific condition. Check back....I'll get these to work one way or another soon :)
Mini-site!!! Yippie!!!
I am so excited to finally have my mini-site! Thanks to all my friends for rooting for me, especially 'Hitman' my campaign manager!!! And thanks to everyone who has bookmarked me, all those kudos points really helped! For those of you who don't know... I'm pregnant! So my good intentions to create new content are on hold at the moment. All I want to do is sleep!!! But I'm assured that I'll have more energy soon. Fingers crossed!

Normally I LIKE that I "never make the same house twice".....but I'm making an exception for THIS one. My Sims have been so ga ga for this house plan I wanted to share it with everyone else. Each will have the same floor plan just have different walls, floors, windows, furnishings, and decor.......but from an architectural stand point.....same house just different color schemes. 4 bed 3 bath with a NON-attached garage. It's been a hit in my game both with my Sims AND the head master.....I hope for the same in everyone else's.

This is the ROSE home I believe......The floor plan is the important part as there'll be 10 different ones to choose from. The yards may have different trees, different papers and floors, furnishings; all making it so that along with there being a variety of colors to choose from your sims will have a couple different prices to choose from as well.
ALL 10 are now up......hope everyone likes them.
Upcoming Creations - H&M dresses
My upload for this week wil be four different dresses for adult female. They wil be released on 25 May. These recollors are ment to be for everyday and they are based on the mesh of one of the beautiful H&M dresses. You wil need H&M installed to see them in your game. I Hurt Myself
Yesterday was the Friends of the Library booksale. Being the it was bag day (2 bags for $5. All the books you can shove in there. Wheeee!), I dragged my kids across town to see what we could find. I can never resist cheap books, and being that I am a master bag-stuffer, I know I'll get my money's worth. (Gosh, that makes me sound cheap.)Anyway, I found out that they sell books by the box. You can go into their warehouse, point to a certain genre, pay $2 or $3 (depending on the size of box you want), and they will load them up in your car. You don't get to pick and choose what you get in these boxes, but who cares? Surprises are fun, right?
Being that my kids don't really want to look through rows and rows of books, I thought I'd get a few boxes of elementary fiction. I paid for my 4 LARGE boxes, and headed out to collect them. When I got there, I was informed that they were out of the large, so they'd double up on the small. No problem, right? Well, "small" wasn't very small at all. They hold 50+ books each. Now I have 9 "small" boxes of paperbacks.
After unloading boxes, sifting through each one, and then stacking them all up again, I've managed to hurt my right arm. My wrist, elbow, and shoulder are all in a huge amount of pain. I'm going to the doctor today to see if I've fractured my wrist... AGAIN. (It's never going to heal at this point.) I wanted to let everyone know that I will still be here uploading like a mad woman, but maybe not quite as much as I had been recently. I can only sit here for so long before I need to take something for the pain and rest the arm a bit.
Note to self: Next time bring the husband so he can unload boxes.
Next free stuff...
From now an all stuff that is based on meshes from otrher sites is free. Forever. This includes the accessories and 5 Outfits based on meshes by the wonderful chriko from 2-f0r-u.de.
all free stuff
Victorian Doors and Windows
Inspired by my Victorian Porch Railing set, I've made my first-ever set of windows and doors. These are based on the mesh of the 'Symmetrical Poly-Molecular Matrix Window' from the base game, with changes, and use its textures. The stained glass textures are recolours of the standard height straight mesh in the set, and are shared by all the other meshes. The first set of doors and windows is due out tomorrow, and contains only single-tile meshes. It has three sizes of windows in both open and closed positions, as well as glass doors, solid doors, and archways both with and without transoms.
Want to create? Try the tutorials :)
Seems like learning to create stuff for the Sims is an evolving process. First you use the tools that came with the game (Homecrafter and Bodyshop). If you are like me, you stumble around a bit trying to figure out how to get that wallpaper to tile properly or matching up what part of a texture shows up just where in a piece of clothing. Then you move on to trying recolors. I did so with Wizards of Simpe, which is pretty easy to use and is good for doing basic recolors (like putting new images in wall hangings).
Then it's Simpe itself...and that's when I found things got complicated. If you are a Star Trek fan, remember the Pakleds, the race of simple-minded beings that "looked for things that make us go". They don't know how their technology works, they just want it to go.
That's me. I boot up a program and start blundering about with it. Eventually, I either give up or figure out how to make it do what I need.
Except, that didn't work too well with Simpe.
So I broke down and (gasp) read some tutorials. Not only that, I worked through the examples. Multiple times! Thanks to munchkin-brat, SimAddict99, Tlkaska, Xanathon and others, I finally managed to successfully clone and recolor some objects. Woohoo!
Now we will see if I can actually make some of the stuff I've had ideas for.
So, if you are wanting to improve your skills, check out the tutorials! They're great.
CONGRATULATIONS ANA (aka Estatica)
My warmest and heartfelt congratulations are off to this wonderful and extremely talented lady! She is now an FA and I couldn't agree more! Come drop by her guestbook and minisite and forum thread and give her a nice big warm encouraging hug!Congratulations Ana!

Andy has retired
After recovering from his illness Andy has chosen to retire from The Sims community to spend more time with his family. We wish him well and hope he'll enjoy his newfound life. Take care Andy!Sneak Peak...
I did tell you that I had a few projects I planned on finishing this month, so how am I doing on them? Well, the Urban lot I mentioned (Chrysalis) is now up and has had a surprising reception. I did not think that many people would be interested in a more urban type of home, but I had never done one before, and thought I'd give it a shot. :D So thank you to those who gave it a try. ;) The "Cottagey" home I was working on is now pending. It is called Heatheridge Hollow and will be downloadable on the 23rd. The landscaping on it was a joy, and turned out beautifully. (Modest, ain't I? LOL!) Don't let that stop you from getting the base game only home I created called Sommerset though. That one also has some extensive landscaping and is only one story. I think it is a sweet little home. Last, but not least, my bread and butter...the contemporary lot I told you about. This one will be called LeiAnne and is currently in testing so it should be in my "Pending" area soon. For those who are curious, I did post some pics of it in the Build a Lot forum thread under TSR Showrooms. Here is a quick peak at it though, but just a teaser. ;) I do hope it won't disappoint, and thank you for your interest.

Hope you like!
Groovy Flowers Set Preview
Greetings all Here is another 60's style retro set I have just finished submitting, inspired by a sticker set I saw bizzarely enough! LOL Hope you like it ;o)
Between this one and the Groovy Pink set I think I have catered for the Pastel and Bright colour fans out there. I will be working on room sets for this theme next, as well as a reverse request set in my Funky Fish design.
As always as soon as I know a release date for this set I will update the Weekly Releases post. And as I am starting to feel a little more comfortable with recolouring objects, any object requests for recolours using any of my textures are welcomed (please bear in mind I only have the base game and Uni at the moment, sorry).
Have an awesome week all :o)
New Computer Again
Well agian, you haven't seen me in a while. I had a new computer, but a month ago he broke down. So I had to wait for a couple of weeks before it could be fixed. Well I'm glad I'm back. So I just wanted to let you all know about what I'm doing right now.I'm busy with some extra editions to the new kitchen that came with Bath & Kitchen. Here is a small preview.

So keep an eye on my profile, if you don't want to miss this.
Hard drive Failure
You know that it-will-never-happen-to-me syndrome that is so common in youth? Apparently, more mature adults such as myself also continue to suffer from it.It happened to me. My hard drive is gone. Oi!
I lost all my lot building work done in the month of May. I had two lots completed and was halfway finished with three more. Bye-bye. Gone!
Two of them were lots that I entered into the May building contest sponsored by S2HBAA. Oh well! At least I have the pictures and can reconstruct the lots from screenshots. *sigh* I put 40 hours of work into one of those lots--La casa aguas tranquilas. Perhaps I can cut that down to 10 during reconstruction. After all, I now know exactly where things go and don't have to fuss over color schemes.
I am taking my pc into the shop first thing tomorrow morning. Maybe I'll get lucky and it's just a bad hard drive connection. I doubt it though. The cables are only 3 months old and fit quite snugly.
150.000!!!
I've reached 150.496 downloads of my creations!!! Many thanks to all of you who dowloaded my work and thank you TSR for allowing me to share my creations! My new site
check out my site - have updated it and you can get my meshes here..right now only the new ones, but I'll be adding some of the old ones as I go along. Hope you enjoy.http://veradsplace.com/
Simpe!
I think I finally have a clue on how to do recolors using Simpe. Thanks to a whole passel of wonderful tutorials, I got it installed correctly and working. Next stop, learning to clone objects! If you haven't checked out the tutorials in Content, it's well worth doing so...they are VERY helpful.Just uploaded a batch of exterior walls. I think the shingle set will work well on Victorian houses. Trying to figure out how to add the fancy gingerbread along the roof line. I think it can be done on walls, but not sure how to make it line up properly on the angle of the roofline.
Kudos Lottery
I've come to the conclusion that 150 tickets is not enough to get a prize in the lottery, so I've decided that starting today, I will buy 25 tickets a day. That's 12500 kudos points a day. A DAY! I will have haul a** on making new things just to earn some more points to have any sort of chance at winning anything in the lottery. The funniest part is, I don't care what I get, I just want to win something. The mug would be super. I could proudly display it on my desk, and people would ask me how and where I got it. Then I could say, "It's a funny story, really...", and tell them about how I had to create about 5000 new things to share so I could earn points. It's beyond obsession, now. I HAVE to WIN! I WILL win! I have until July to buy as many tickets as I can, and buy them I will! Watch out, TSR. I'm on a mission!Thank You
... to everyone who has left me comments on my creations. It is a pleasure to know that you all are enjoying them. There are plenty more to be uploaded, so you all will have even more Studio K designs to choose from. Everyone is so greatly appreciated. Thanks again, have fun and have an AMAZING day!Mesh Mush
...well, I have completed my first mesh. But, don't expect an upload any time soon...I want to make sure it's decent quality before I decide to share it with all of you. Either way, for all those that have been helping me with my multitude of questions BlackGarden, Dgandy, and others...thanks so much. You guys are making it happen...I've been Bookmarked?! - Graduation!!
Hello there fellow builders/dreamers/simmers! I just wanted to take a moment to send out a special thank you to those of you who have been so kind as to bookmark me as an artist. I cannot see your names...it doesn't show me who does this...so I can't thank you personally. However, it doesn't change the fact that every time I see that someone has done this it means that they really like something I have created.I have only recently started uploading to TSR. It is the ONLY site I have ever uploaded anything to, and (as far as I can see) the only one I probably ever will. I didn't think my homes would be good enough to share with anyone, but my eldest son bopped me upside the head and told me to just try it and see. So when someone bookmarks me as an artist I grow a little more confident...a little more sure that people really do like my homes...and I cannot even begin to tell you just how incredible that feels to me. :D So, thank you! Thank you each and every one of you who has bookmarked me, or will do so in the future. You sure make this old builder feel welcome here! (((Hugs!)))
A VERY grateful,
Illiana
Graduation Day!!!!
On a personal note - My eldest son Austin graduated from high school today! *Sniffle* A BIG part of me is so beyond proud of the young man he has become that I could just burst!!! Yet, there is another part of me that longs for the days he would climb up on my lap and want me to read him a story. I just keep asking myself, "Where did the time go?!" Congratulations, my son!!!! I wish you success and happiness as you venture into a new world! :D
Love -
Mom

Uploaded Chapter 26
Yes, only a few days instead of months ... amazing. Look for it soon.Very Busy
Haven't been around much, got sick with the flu and allergies again... This week will be very hectic for me and hubby's workplace so I won't be around much online again. We also have to attend to our new house, on its finishing touches already. We're excited to move in and decorate. Aside from that, there's nothing much to tell. I just missed playing with my Simmies but not much time anymore. As always, thanks for stopping by everyone. I really appreciate it. :)If any case that I don't upload my screencaps here, feel free to visit my Sims 2 Flickr:

OMG!!! Say WCIF ?!?! ...
Because of the lots of questions about my sources, i've made a list with the costum content i've used.this black/blond hair is from vintage d, but it's not online any more, maybe they'll upload it again, i dunno.
EDIT SophieQ told me that the hair is posted in the vintage forum under REQUESTS
the other hairs i've used are from rosesims, xmsims, nouki
or from siluetta or ulkrhsn (both @TSR)
the make up is made by heleane and icedmango
or made by me but unpublished.
I've no idea where the skintone is from, i think from MTS2, but i dunno the artist. It must be an old one, cause I had it in my game from the early beginning.
Arches - usual apologies and stuff...
The arches are very nearly ready at last! As usual, my previous blog entry is the cyclonesue-classic example of over-promising and under-delivering. Anyway, just the narrowest 1-tile arch to sort out (it's a tad too wide for the tile still), and then I'm ready to upload! Anyway, I'm very sorry about the delay and a huge thank-you for the fabulous comments you've left!
More testing!

a bit more about the bear
I'm the bear........TSR knows me as hiedibear75. I've got 4 wonderful kids.......I see them as often as I can, which is never often enough. I'm a kid at heart; I like cartoons (but NOT all toons....only some). I like crude stuff like South Park, and Crank Yankers was a really funny show. I'm crude sometimes but sweet. I like cutsie stuff like fairies, unicorns, Hello Kitty and I of course love just about anything Disney. I'm into music ALL kinds; Tim McGraw, to Slipknot, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, then turn around & listen to Sean Paul, Shakira, you name it I'll listen to it......well almost......I do have taste ya know. My favorite color in the world is pink! I like skulls though......and most of that tends to be black & red.....but that's AOK with me. I love all animals but my absolute favs are dolphins, cats, dogs, horses, and of course bears and butterflies. I've collected teddy bears since I was a kid and I've still got some of them.....some are more then 20yrs old now. I've always been kinda cuddly so I guess bear fits me. My best-friend Mike helps take care of me. He started calling me butterfly because I'm "fragile and have to be picked up and handled very delicately.....just like a butterfly". I Sim to keep my sanity. Staying home all the time with "nothing but free time" only sounds good; trust me, it's got some big drawbacks. I like movies; mainly comedy, horror fan(but not ghosts.....I do believe in spooks.....not vampires or zombies). I can't believe I didn't put this in earlier.....I L-O-V-E nature! <3 I'm anti-pollution and big on ecology. If we don't take care of Mother Earth she'll stop taking care of us......and when that happens like all the animal species we have caused to go extinct.....we will be too.Busy Building
Just thought I would drop a note to say that I am around and building. Because I am working on several lots at once, I haven't uploaded anything in the past couple of weeks. But I should have several lots ready to go at the end of May or in early June.Beach House Bedroom Set
New bedroom set released on Sunday 18th May :) Base game compatible apart from the Vanity Table which requires the University EP. Recolours are included with the set.
Wow! Thanks everyone!
Thanks to everyone who has downloaded my stuff, I now have enough kudos for this minisite! Currently I am working on learning how to use Simpe properly and plan to do some major recolors to create a Fifties kitchen. I also have been trying my hand at skins. Made my first "photo" Sim ...he was supposed to be Adam Baldwin (as Jayne Cobb from Firefly). He's pretty much a resounding failure :) Around here we call him "Pathetic Jayne". So it's back to the drawing board. When not making horrid skins, I'm working on wallpapers or remaking designer clothes. I've got a batch of retro walls in aqua and chocolate that are really cool waiting in the wings. I think I'll do a set of men's clothes again soon too.
Well off to finish working on my minisite banner. Thanks again everyone for downloading my stuff and writing me such nice comments!
Creations
Today I uploaded two dresses in order that they were used in informal parties.I hope you enjoy
Have a great weekend
Maluy
Poll Closing Tomorrow!
Your last chance to vote as I will be closing my poll tomorrow night (Sunday - UK), so don't miss out!
Mad Cow Groovy Pink Set Preview
Greetings all It may seem that I haven't released much this week, which is true! LOL But I have been busy preparing a new 32 piece Groovy Pink Retro decorating set and there is also a blue set to follow as well ;o) There will also be a further 2 decorating sets being released, probably towards the end of the month. I almost have a bedroom and bathroom set recolour in the pink, the blue I will be working on next week.
I hope you like it, I had fun making this set and the others in the series too, he he he.
