A Bit About Grammy...

So, I hit 20,000 Kudos and figured "What the hey, I guess I'll get a mini site".

Well, an introduction...
I have been creating since the summer of 2007.
I mostly do elder clothing with a few walls & floors thrown in.
When it comes to my clothing, I never use custom meshes. I hate downloading something and not being able to use it because I forgot or can't find the correct mesh. Also I know what a pain it can be to have a bunch of custom meshes and a slow computer. Most of the clothes I make (about 90%) do not need expansion packs, because I know not everyone is able to jump out and purchase the latest expansions & stuff packs. As of right now all of my clothing is Elder...Did anyone notice the latest Stuff Pack (Kitchens & Bath) had not 1 clothing item for elders?! Let me tell you, Grammy enjoys a warm bathrobe as much as the next gal!

Minisite

I'm so excited to have my own minisite here at TSR. I've been a member now for 4 years but only recently started submitting creations.

I want to say a huge thank you to anyone who has downloaded my creations; without you I really would not have be able to afford this minisite.

I've made versions of my two latest adult meshes for teens and have submitted one to publish next week. I was having my items publish on Saturday, but I switched to a less busy day, that way you middle of teh week visitors will have something new to download; that is if you like my stuff!

Objects in my homes...

Some downloaders may have noticed that I have a knack for placing objects in odd places. For example...my mirrors are actually centered! *Gasp!* Or they could even be overlapping. So what do you do if you want to move them, and then decide later you want them back where they were? Or perhaps you want to try it yourself with something else?

Well waaaaayyy back...almost a whole month ago now...I wrote a little tutorial about using cheats to create kitchen islands.
Using Boolprop Cheats to Create Kitchen Islands:
Inside that wondrous work of worthy words are the exact cheats I used to place all of those objects in more attractive places, along with the explicit instructions on how to use them.

The two cheats used are:
boolprop snapobjectstogrid false/true (FALSE=ON and TRUE=OFF...turning it OFF is a good idea if you want to actually do anything besides decorate!)
moveobjects on/off

With those two powerful cheats you too can plop a picture in the center of your room...even if it is one tile too short to actually go there!

A little warning though: Some objects do not handle being moved this way well. Desks are not a good candidate, and neither are plants that need care. Bookcases handle it fine and so do most of the other items in the table category. Experiment, test, live a little! This is a game, and it can be a lot of fun to see sims use something you have frankensteined together on a whim. LOL!

Going away for a week...

So, lovey and I do a bit of Metal Detecting and Relic Hunting on the side of our lives...when we have time to get out, that is.

We're headed to Georgia for a week in about three weeks, so naturally...I wll be MIA for that time. (May 30 to June 8)

I wanted to inform everyone so when I disappear, no one worries.

He's got some family over there that owns a bunch of land where a big Civil War battle was fought...it's going to be LOADS of fun, and I'll surely bring back LOADS of pictures to share.

Back from another dimension

My laptop is back, my world makes sense again! :D

p.s. and that means I can create again too! YAY!

I finally got a new computer

I would like to thank all of you who download my creations; for all of your kind words and patience. I know it has been a while since I've uploaded consistently. This will change shortly and everything will return to normal. :)

This computer has the Vista operating system, I'm in the process of tracking down and updating several drivers for my many software programs. It has not been easy.

There are numerous ideas floating around in this head of mine. Let's hope they can be translated into some decent creations. lol

Hi, all! Today I added a new Poll. The question is: For wich age would you like to see new recolours? I hope you wil vote and earn your 25 kudos! Here are the results of my last poll. I tell you for wich reason I also do like ingame screenies better to. Photoshopped screens are sometimes very amazing, artistic & very beautiful. I really like to watch them. But.. many times they do not give us a good or realistic vieuw about the downloadable creations. Afterwards there is a big chance it wil give people dissapointed feelings about the downloaded stuf, because the creation seems not to be not what the beautiful screenie promised. Therefore I like the ingame screens better. There's no Abracadabra, they show you exactely how a creation wil look in your game. So now you do have an idea about my feelings on previeuw screenies... Whats next? I'm sorry for the less updates. I did'nt create this week as much as I wanted, because there were some festive days in my country and after those days I was ill. At the moments I felt a little bit better I created something for your toddlers. Here's a previeuw for the next upcoming Hawaii themed dresses. Hope you like them.

Exams...

Hi!

During all of May I will be busy with exams and school projects. I won't be away completely, but I am sorry if I will not be able to answer to all of those who PM me or leave messages in my GB or to those who leave comments. I shall answer though as soon as I have some free time. There are a lot of creations from me that will be published though, so there is nothing to worry about. I hope you enjoy them in your game!

Pool lights anyone?

I was browsing for some content here on TSR for my fianc� as he built a house yesterday. "Fences! Bathroom! Hot tub! Pool lights!" Oh, wait... pool lights. I couldn't believe it when my search for pool lights only turned up one item - and that was a recolour!
So then I thought, well why can't you just put a wall light in a pool? A lot of them look like they would probably be waterproof. So without further dithering, I present to you... pool lights!



These lights use the repository technique (thankyou MsBarrows!) to draw their textures from the matching original wall light, so if you have any recolours of the original wall light they will also appear for the pool light.
I plan to "convert" all suitable wall lights in this way (no fabric shades underwater!), and then I will continue to make my own original pool lights. So sit tight and your pools will soon have a variety of lights!

Sux Tobeyou's story

Okay. Here's the latest on Sux. I had to uninstall/reinstall my game. Still trying to get some custom content back in it. After all the aggravation of the uninstall reinstall game, turned out that the problem is my mouse! The camera mod wasn't working and since I had JUST installed Kitchen and Baths, I blamed the game (sorry precious SIMS2 game!-K lovingly strokes the jewel case trying to sooth it's hurt feelings). Anyways, I have to remember where I got Sux's neighborhood and re download that, find Sux (stored on a CD-I think) and try to find my simslice stuff that I was using to torture him with. Torture? Oops did I say that out loud? I meant to say "simslice stuff that I was using to WRITE HIS STORY with! :)

Updated Necklaces - Binned Jewellery

Hello again, folks! Over the last month I ran a poll asking about people's preferences regarding jewellery - whether people like to have it located in the glasses catalogue or with the advent of Bon Voyage and Freetime, people would rather it move into the new jewellery catalogues. The results showed that 57% of people still prefer the traditional glasses catalogue but not far behind, 43% now like using the separate jewellery catalogue. Very useful information, to be sure.

So, the point of all this is thus: I went back and updated my necklace sets to be binned into the BV/FT jewellery categories for that 43% of people with this preference, as I'm sure very few downloaders feel confident in doing this themselves. These updates include both my male and female crop circle necklaces, my men's dogtag necklaces and my men's Nordic necklaces - one set will release each Wednesday over the following four weeks.

NOTE: Be aware - I have only updated the original base game compatible files; NOT created new files. This means that the BV/FT versions will REPLACE the base game versions so you must choose which version you wish to use.

Sorry for the lack of updates! I haven't had a spare minute since around my mid-term exams and now I'm onto finals!

Once the semester is over, I'll likely take a little time to decompress before getting back into the simming groove, answering pm's, etc.

Another milestone. Many thanks to all of you who download and comment on my creations. You are the reason that I do this stuff. I really appreciate it every time you stop by and I'll try to find some time to do some things that are more in line with my capabilities soon. Now I must set my sights forward again and aim for a bright future.

Will I be uploading anything new here at TSR?? I might, but it's not likely, seeing as everything new I create will be at Natural Sims.

Where are the updates?

Well, its like this. I couldn't run the newer expansion packs on my old computer. So I got a new one. Unfortunately, it has Windows Vista as an operating system. I have downloaded all the patches, hot fixes, changing the program to be run by an administrator... And still can't get the thing to work. So if someone has an idea of how to fix this situation I will happily put up the rest of the carpet colors and the matching walls.

Some decorative arches for posh buildings!

I've made some arches [insert-bored-applause-here] that actually aren't arches. Well, they ARE, but just decorative objects (not doorways). Because they're decorative, they can be lined up with or without building walls, and can be used to make tunnels and walkways, and Sims can still walk beneath them... I send huge thanks to AnoeskaB who rescued these arches (and me) from my Recycle Bin. I had spent a couple of weeks trying to find out how to prevent the arches being plunged in dark shadow when a floor tile was placed above them. Naturally, I did not solve this at all, but Anoeska did - and I'm very, very grateful indeed!

A german tutorial on stairs

I don't write or speak German, but someone was kind enough to tell me that there is a new German tutorial explaining how I created the modular stairs for the Ballet Acad�mie.

Much as I am flattered that they picked my lot as a reference for that tutorial, I would like to point out that I first learned to make these modular stairs by reading Tiko's tutorial, right here at TSR.

If you have any other doubts, just PM me and I will try to help out the best I can. I'm having trouble replying to the comments on my stuff, but I will reply to them all eventually!

Meanwhile, while my laptop is down for repair, I'm unable to play the game. I'm messing around in Wings 3D and UVMapper to overcome this growing frustration, but sometimes it's just not enough :(

May 11th, Vanity Fair Finishing Touches

Hi y'all! I finally found time to publish a set! The Vanity Fair Finishing Touches, Part IX includes 2 new meshes, a embroidery hoop and a candelabra styled wall light. In addition, lots of recolors of some favorite VF objects, in green and gold.

Currently, I am working on my VF Sewing Room and I hope to release it mid-May *crosses fingers*

Back from Florida

I'm back from Florida and spent my first day home working on chapter 25. I'm a bit discouraged because the neighborhood is running extremely slow and totally lags between buy and live mode and the album. I have about 20 slides done and the rest should be easier so I'm hoping to update tomorrow night. That is if I get home from work on time.

Making Marimekko

I was inspired by H&M:s Marimekko collection and made a collection of my own! Most of the Marimekko retro fabrics can't be found online, so I ended up doing my own designs. I've worked with them around the clock for 4 days now, thrown away quite a few and even lost some in the process... whilst dust and laundry is piling up... but I've learned the basics of Body Shop, thanks to TSR tutorials.
I just uploaded half a dozen outfits and am so tired I can hardly keep my eyes open. Got to go to bed and leave the rest for tomorrow - eh, I mean later today...
