Playing games!

Hi there! I'm not dead or lost, I've just been playing other games for a change. Found this game where you buy chocolate factories around the world and sell the sweets to shops, whilst hunting for new ingredients. It's been nice playing a more traditional game!
Plus I got kind of stuck with my story. I made the mistake of renaming the screen shots (in order to find them), but that means you won't find them if you are in another lot. So I will have to re-do a part of the story... -Sigh- Trying to recharge myself by playing something more simple...

Houses!

Feeling a bit frustrated at the moment with my "unframed canvases" version of the photo frames. Sooo many meshes to wrestle with, and trying not to loose the proper aspect ration when resizing them is driving me mental. So I've taken a break this weekend and instead started cleaning up a couple of the prettier recent houses from my Soup Legacy. Specifically (for those of you that follow the story), the houses of Watercress & William Soup, and Wren & Winston Wallace. The first of those is completed and should be released tomorrow. It has had some minor changes to how it appears in-game - the usual "stripping of massive amounts of custom content" plus some minor fixes so that it contains a non-CC staircase, and has a garden made entirely of TSRAA plants. The second house is almost finished as well - it's a much smaller job to deal with since, unlike the first house, I had remembered to make a packaged backup of it before moving anyone in. I'm mainly just having to redo the landscaping and some internal texturing. That should be out some time later this week or early next week, depending on where in the calendar I decide to plug it once it's good to go. Enjoy!

#3 Possum Holler

Okay, sorry in the delays on getting #3 Possum Holler up. It's been a real busy month and I am quite glad that April is about over with as it was kind of a sucky month! I didn't really have much chance to get this done (between a friend funeral, very sick kitty then having to put him down, visiting my mom-which was good and fun, but busy) I don't know yet when this will be available, since I just now posted it! It's been waiting on my desktop for about 2 weeks for me to take care of it! Don't worry, I will be trying to work on the next chapter of Sux Tobeyou as well! Bear with me (hush up from the peanut gallery, LaurieR, no harassing me as I would NEVER harass you!)

New mesh for Saturday 05/03/08

I've got a new mesh ready for next weekend. It's the one I've been working on for the last several weeks. It's not that big of a deal, but I just had to get my head around how to approach it. I've remade it about 10 times and fine tuned this version for a week! Right now, I am just cleaning up the textures. I like what I have, but I noticed the neckline wasn't smooth and the inside bottom hem needs to be colored to look good. Here's a sneak peak!

Can I have your opinion?

Hi there friends, I'm busy working on a new large lot, however as I create sometimes I find myself tiring and needing a break.. When I do, I work on smaller projects, wall hangings, wallpapers or floors. Here's something that tweaked my interest and I'm offering it in two matting colors. I just love it, what do you think?

News Update

...I've got two more recolors in the pending stages, so expect those real soon. I've also started playing with meshing. BlackGarden has been so kind as to help me out, so hopefully, in a short while...I'll be making my own meshes versus taking everyone else's!

Just learned to recolor

Yes! I did it, I recolored for the first time yesterday. HolySimolys Bijoux set. It's pending for approval. I've recolored a few items since and this is so fun. I plan to upload many many more. Hope you like it!

Oriental Delight Sets

I was learning before tests so I didn't have time for sims. Now I'm making many new files: walls, floors and sets. New downloads will be in my profile in next week.

Using Elder-Enabled Separates

By now, people who know me and my work know that I'm dedicated to enabling the adult clothing in the EA/Maxis catalog to work for elder Sims. So far, I've limited these conversions to whole outfits, but elders can use converted clothing based on adult meshes for separates as well. However, you must be sure that when you use an elder-enabled top, you only pair it with an elder-enabled skirt or pants. EA's insistence on making elders (particularly women) with paunchy midriffs means that clothing created for use with elder meshes will be wider at the waist than clothing created for adult meshes. Therefore, tops and bottoms based on elder meshes will leave gaps if used with adult mesh-based, elder-enabled separates, as illustrated below:

I hope this explanation makes it clear why you can only use elder-enabled separates with each other. I have several more sets of separates in the works, all of which will be interchangeable. Using these separates is a little more complicated than using whole meshes, but the versatility of mix-and-match separates is well worth it!

Carpet Crazy!........+ More!

Hi All! WOW, you guys are carpet crazy! - over 5000 downloads in one day, and nearly all of them for my latest carpets sets - I'm amazed (and very happy ). My latest walls are about to be published, and the matching floors are just waiting for clearance, so hopefully they will be available shortly! Other than that, I've been working on some more paintings, which I should get finished tomorrow, so they will be uploaded early next week, along with my second set of rugs - so lots more to look forward to! I am flying south on holiday tomorrow for a week to celebrate my First Wedding Anniversary. Installing Bon Voyage has really put me in the holiday mood. Hopefully, the weather will be better than it's been in Scotland recently. So if you wonder why I'm not replying to PMs, guestbook entries and comments next week, now you will understand. I've been trying to learn some Spanish over the last few weeks. It will be interesting to see if anyone there is able to understand me! Adi�s!

Expensive Fridges and kitchens

Well, I think the Designer Color Series of kitchen items is finally complete. I found a beautiful mesh by buggybooz that uses the repository technique to recolor a stunning set of counter and cabinet meshes - therefore only one file is required to recolor the entire set. I have recolored the counters to match the Designer Series One and Designer Series Two appliances. I tried a couple of the ones in the brights series and I was definitely not happy with the results. Some of those colors should be used sparingly at best! I also did not recolor the counter in black or white or stainless steel, as the original author of the mesh already did those recolors so I felt no need to duplicate his efforts.

I am also giving in to the pressure to recolor the expensive Maxis fridge! Those will be released all together in one set and will include all the colors in Designer Color Series One, Two, and the Brights series as well.

These will all be coming out at the beginning of May. I hope you like them!

I have been playing Sims 2 on and off for a couple of years but only just discovered the fabulous world of custom content - yes I am a bit slow ;) I am learning (tearing my hair out) and loving creating more than playing the game now, although I don't have a lot of time to do it.

I would like to send a big thanks out to all the talented artists here at TSR, my houses are full of their fab work and my sims always dressed in their awesome clothes or living in their beautiful homes. Great work everyone!!!

Woohooo!! I noticed my "Thank You" counter had reached just over 1000 this morning, so now it's my turn! LOL

Thank you to everyone who has downloaded, thanked or commented on my new TS2 creations. It has been a great confidence boost and given me the drive to learn new things too, heheheheh.

Yesterday I learned how to make bedding sets, yay! And I also started playing with SimPE, learning how to use it and seeing what existing items I would like to have a bash at recolouring.

My Photo Editing software could do with updating though as the one I'm currently using is over 5 years old! LOL Will have to save some pennies and find out what the best/most user friendly one is.

The release of the first Celtic set also sees a new style Set picture, I had mentioned I wasn't happy with some of the previous set pictures I had done, so I learnt how to make better ones! LOL I hope you like them :O)

A Fond Farewell

Federal Fortress

My last two Remodels of this put it over 170 download a piece (174 and 185). Those two along with Crystal Springs - 2 Summers Drive (207) are in the top three. If this one also gets around that same number of downloads I may end up doing more remodels of Federal Fortress as it appears people seem to like it.

On a side note seeing how Crystal Springs - 2 Summers Drive is my most downloaded lot I am looking at remodeling it slightly to bring it more up to date.

I need a break.

Hi, I'm not going to be around much because I need a break. I just don't really feel like doing anything at the moment because I've got alot on my mind. I'm just feeling a bit sad and worried. I have a holoday camp coming up and theres kids as young as nine there, I don't really want to people seeing my arm or my scars and I feel a bit sad, really sad. I've Moved!!!

First of all, I want to thank each and every one of you who have downloaded my creations. It has been a great experience and period of growth as a creator here at TSR, and your downloads have helped make it all possible. Thank you very much, each of you is greatly appreciated!!!

I have decided for personal reasons, to move my future creations to Natural Sims, A COMPLETELY FREE Sims 2 site, where I am a Mod and Staff Creator. I'm not allowed to post the addy here. but you can find the addy on Google.


I will leave my website here up, so you can continue to download my creations. I will also pop in periodically to check my guestbook and comments, so feel free to continue to leave such and I will see it.

A 2 week nightmare

My always faithful, gorgeous laptop failed me yesterday and I had to take him to the store to fix his issues with the monitor.

I know he'll come back all shiny and in perfect shape, but I'll miss him in these next few weeks.

Meanwhile, I won't be able to play the sims, or create anything, for that matter because I could only play it in that laptop. I still have access to the internet in this old computer, so feel free to contact me if you need anything. :)

2 Mio Downloads - A BIG Thank you!

Whow! I came home from a business travel and found 2.000.000 downloads. I had never expected I would come so far!
A very big thank you to all you lovely Simmers who encouraged me again and again.

I promised myself to stop if I ever reach 1 Mio - I thought it would need 10 years. But now I'm too much addicted to stop, I will surely go on until Sims3 comes up.

Now I take a glass of champaigne -cheerio!

Free sets

As of tomorrow, the first two sets I made for The Sims 2 will be available to download for free indefinitely. These are Embroidered camisole set and Embroidered camisoles II.





Both sets are for female adults only and are categorised as underwear. All use a standard Maxis base game mesh i.e. no mesh downloads or expansion/stuff packs required.

Teenage Mina

Yay! :) Found a site full of reproduction costume images from "Bram Stoker's Dracula" (Easily the best looking vampire film ever shot, albeit not the best-acted by a long shot...). I seem to have done most of them, but there's one more I've overlooked - Mina's aqua-blue party gown. Since I have yet to make a Victorian outfit for a teenage vampire, I'm releasing it as a teen outfit (Everyday / Formal). However, I am always happy to re-release any of my recolours for different age settings, as long as I can find a suitable mesh.

May Be Fixed

I reinstalled all of Sims 2 yesterday only hanging on to my Downloads file, my Neighborhood file and the Lot file. Today for the first time in 4 days I didn't have to reload the whole The Sims 2 file in my My Documents folder. I'm hoping that means it's fixed from whatever happened after I added Pets last week. I'll be able to get the bathroom objects and the last of the recreation objects colored. Once I know the game is fixed I'll recreate my testing folder and get them checked out and get the pictures so that I can upload and submit them.

Not sure why the little archive thing is showing 17, I have 20 lots available - including the two released today.

I am finally back (I hope)

I'm sorry I haven't been around for ages. My girls kept bringing home a new cold or stomach bug at least once a week all winter, and since I still haven't got a properly working immune system, I caught each and every one of them, severely limiting my time and energy all winter.

In the middle of December my youngest daughter lost her daycare place just when I was about to start working fulltime again (the lady that looked after her suddenly decided it was too much work for her), so I spent several weeks juggling kids and job and running around trying to find a new place. We finally found one in February and fortunately she really enjoys it there, too.

Then when things finally began to settle down again, my old dinosaur of a computer, who had been failing for over a year already (and hardly let me play my game any more anyway) broke down completely. It wouldn't let me play Sims2 or log onto TSR, so I pretty much dropped off the face of the earth where the sims are concerned.

I did spend quite some time going back to Sims1, and I enjoyed myself hugely, something I didn't think possible (I had last played Sims1 just after I had first installed Sims2 to my computer).

The good news is that I finally got a new computer last week. I'm still in the process of installing software and transfering data, but Sims2 is up and running again, and I'm hoping to have some of my work-in-progress projects finished and uploaded within the next two or three weeks.

First in line is the long-promised add-on sets to Hannah's and Hester's bathrooms with a stand-alone tub, towels, curtains, new tile walls and floors and more. Hester's add-ons will also contain an alternative shower with all-green tiles (instead of the original green and pink one).

After that, I've got an outdoors set and a couple of country nurseries waiting to be finished, as well as a couple of Arizona sofa varieties. I can't give you a timeframe for those yet, but I'm determined to get back into creating enough for regular uploads.

A special thanks to everyone who has signed my guestbook and commented on my items while I was away. Since my Sims time is still rather limited I'll try to use it for creating and uploading right now, which means I probably won't get around to thanking all of you individually, but I really appreciate each and every one of them (and I have read them all).
