New tutorial - New free set
My latest tutorial has just been submitted. It's about adding a group, or subset, to an object mesh and if you have a look at it, you'll see that it's based on my Forked coffee table.
I made this table, and the matching lamp, on purpose for the tutorial, trying to make un unusual shape, but yet in my own style.
And to allow you to follow the tutorial easily, all the set will be free forever, starting from tomorrow, so that everyone can download it, and if it's the case, extract the mesh from the package and try out the tutorial.
Thank You's to Cyclonesue...
for her Modular stair tutorial. She already cured my fear of downloading them and installing them with her installation tutorial. With the help of this latest tutorial I learned how to make my own set of modular stairs. I think this is one of the best things I've learned so far because stairs are one of the things that I've dispaired over because the selection can be rather limited color wise. Granted after reading Cyclonesue's tutorial I downloaded a number of new modular stairs to help eliminate that problem. But this will give me so much more freedom when it comes to my building. And hey I'm always willing to share. ;pHello and Welcome!
Hi everybody and welcome to my new minisite!Loads and Loads of Thanks...
To Atwa and Spaik for their help in finding the more advanced objects in SimPE the other day! Thanks to them the rest of the Flowers of May Day Build objects will be done. So there will be a delay on the next set, but only because now that I was able to do the recolors for a fence and railing set, I want to make a set of matching Modular stairs. Thankfully Cyclone Sue whose wonderful tutorial walked me through installing modular stairs which scared the frick out of me also has a tutorial for creating them. I'm looking forward to the challenge, as soon as they are done and working properly I'll get the next build set out for the Flowers of May Day house. After that it will just be finishing the furniture and paintings. I'm so not looking forward to the kitchen stuff, because I think it's ruining my eyes the work is so detailed. But I promise there will be matching appliances for everyone to work with.A Poor Man's Cross Set
We are talking very plain design here. This will be my first public 'meshing' project, so please don't expect any bangs and whistles or dazzling construction. This took me a very long time ... and yet it is such a simple design ... just 2 boxes hooked together and colored. I think I made this cross at least 2 dozen times before I got the size I wanted. Meshing is a whole other world in which I stepped into. My hope now is that I actually uploaded correctly, lol! Here is a pix of the cross in a church setting. It's that tiny thing on the wall above the font, lol!!!
More Pipes!
I've finally wrapped up a second set of the Pipe Dream Industrial Furniture, and posted it for release next week. There should be a third set in a few weeks, with luck, revolving around the idea of a pipe-based kitchen. I may work on something else first though, as over the last week or two I've been peering at pipes until my head is spinning! And in other news, as of today my total downloads is back over the 2 million mark again. Yay!GunMod's Camera Mod
I know some of you have been having trouble locating GunMod's Camera Mod, so I thought I'd provide a direct link to the thread so you won't have to go searching for it at Modthesims2.The Camera mod will allow you to view the entire neighbourhood, right to the edges, so you can use the whole map. Without it you can only view the centre of the map. That's not to say you have to have the mod, I'd suggest trying the neighbourhood without it first & then if you do decide you want to view more, then download the mod.
I use Gunmod's Camera Mod 3.1A & I just use the "Neighborhood Camera" & the "Live Camera" as I find it gives me more scope to take snapshots without having to go into the free camera mode, using the "Tab" button.
Here's a link to the mod: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=97642
Have fun!

Maybe...dorm?
I made a dormitorium for my friend. Livingroom, kitchen, 5 rooms with bathrooms, swiming pool, music room, studio, pool billiard-table. Maybe I will submit it...?
Flowers of May Day
The first set from the Flowers of May Day series has been approved and will be published on April 2nd. This is the main build set basically. I will have a couple more pieces that I originally wanted in it, but that had to wait. I really do want this to be a set where you can pretty much build from the ground up and furnish all in the same series. Hopefully everyone will like it!Canopy troubles?
I've had a few reports of game freezes after installing Free Time for those who are using the canopy from my "Bed in a Bag" series. Kimberly at SunniSims has been gracious enough to update this mesh for us. Please get the updated mesh at this URL:http://kimberspace.mattwork.potsdam.edu/sunnisims/category/buy-mode-objects-by-room/bed/
She is in the process of updating the SunniSims site. Once she has that all updated, I will be changing the links on my recolors.
Sux Tobeyou
I have not been neglecting Sux Tobeyou's story. I have just been tossing a few ideas around in my head about what to do for him and get things set up the way I need them to be. Thanks for your patients (or lack there of LAURIE)! I will get crackin' on it as soon as I am able to!A New Day....
A new banner. I didn't like the pink in the background especially since I decided to stick with the basic blue from TSR. I like this one much better. I do love it when a plan comes together. ;p I'm happy with the mini-site now. It's got everything I need and what I wanted too. I'll keep it updated just like I did the other. I'll be glad when I get my downloads file cleaned up and can play again a little. I want some knew screenshots for my screen shots section. ^____^New Patch for Free Time online
Hi everyone!
I've got good news for you.
The official German E.A site did put a few minutes ago the Patch for FreeTime online.
I am so happy for the people who can now get rid of 30 bad glitches!
The patch for FreeTime is here:

BTW: I'm buissy with a lot of creations.
You wil see a previeuw of some of them in a few days.
Wish you a Happy Simming!
New Set on the Way
First, I want to say "Thank You" to everyone who has downloaded any of my recolors, and thanked me, or commented on them. I appreciate that very much! My new set will be published tomorrow, and I have already got my eye on what I want to do next, so watch this space for a preview.Up and Running!
Hi Everybody,I'm finally back up and running and I'm hoping that I will have a new set uploaded by the end of the week so stay tuned.
Thanks,
Maegen
New Series: Down on Main Street
I just uploaded the first in my new series of Main Street shops. Two others have been built--I just need to polish them off. More will be on the way in April. I hope you enjoy them! Here's a preview of Main Street in Trenton, so you can get an idea what these shops look like when they're lined up. Feedback and constructive criticism is always appreciated.
Good news and bad news
Hi everyone, I'm back from my vacation in Spain! I had a lovely time there and I'm still adjusting to the hard life here. The good news is that now I'm overloaded with work, which is something I didn't think possible a few weeks ago and represents something really good in my life. Also, I read the news that TSR improved their filters (YAY!), so I took the opportunity to update my lots so they are now easier for you to find.
The bad news is that now I have a very limited time to create for the Sims and I'm having trouble keeping track with all the good stuff going on in this community. I feel bad for not responding to all your great comments or reading all the stories, but I will get to them all eventually!
Happy simming guys! :)
THANK YOU ALL! (COUNTDOWN to 1,000,000 Downloads has begun!)
Thanks everyone for all your continuing support! Today, I have officially begun my countdown to the biggie, 1,000,000 downloads!Happy Simming!
God Bless,
Alyosha
AH Completed, Flowers of May Day Started...
The last three sets of the Autumn Harvest Series have been published for download. They are the Chestnut Dining Room, Bath and Bedroom. I'm sad and yet glad to let it go. There is so much more I could do for it but I know that would be overkill. Anyway, it was time for Autumn to end and Spring to begin.Yeah after all that talk of not doing a spring set I did it anyway. The Build set that I've made is under the featured items right now. It's not been submitted for approval yet but it should be in submission by next weekend.
This set is giving me headaches because I want to go all out and do different colors for the furniture etc. like I did for AH. On the other hand this series will have a lot of pieces that the AH set didn't have, including the doors and windows that I recolored for the build set. Anyway now that the first sets are in we'll see how the rest goes. Then I'll start thinking about some summer time home decor.
Oh and yes I will stop posting 3 and 4 updates a day to my blog, it's just nice to be able to do it without having to get rid of the last piece I wrote before I was really ready to.
Finished!... For Now... ;p
For the moment my mini-site is complete. I did finally go back to the TSR Basic color setting because it goes the best with my avatar picture and banner. Just in case the last blog entry I made really doesn't come through the last color I had decided on was the rosey pink which is a nice color frankly. It's just not my favorite, irregardless of the backgrounds on my Autumn Harvest previews pictures. I think for the Flowers of May Day preview picture backgrounds I'm going to set the blue I like and stick with it. I'll just change the color of the text to represent the colors of the series I'm working on. Ah I think I know what I did wrong. I'm so used to clicking the first action button at the bottom of the TSR pages to 'update' that I hit cancel instead of save. -_-;;New Mesh for Next Saturday
I've loaded a recolor set based on the mesh for the wedged pant mesh I loaded last week and a new mesh set for little girls for next Saturday. Also, the following Saturday a recolor set based on THAT mesh will be published. I bought Bon Voyage and spent some time playing it; it's pretty fun. I'll get Free Time, I'm sure. I was away from the game for so long, I didn't even know there were 2 expansions and all those Stuff packs. LOL I sure missed out! Finally, My Own Mini-site!
Well I've finally reached the point where I can have my own mini-site. I'm currently waiting on the email with instructions and thought I'd just type up this my first entry for the blog section. The poor site looks pretty sad at the moment but as soon as I get a look at the email for instructions then I'll fix it up properly. I'm really rather excited about this because now that I'm creating for Sims 2 I'm always doing little updates and stuff to talk about my new projects, what's been uploaded recently and what is about to be published for downloading. I hated having to take out old updates because then I never remembered what I'd talked about last or what I hadn't mentioned at all. So watch for changes to my page over the next few days as I get time to do things and make changes!Thatcher Cottage
Just a simple little country dwelling. I was practicing doing the barn-look roof using Nohan's great tutorial over at The Sims Crossing and I liked how the house turned out so I added all the necessary things and decided to upload it. I have been busy trying to learn how to mesh. I know it is very late in the game to start with this since Sims3 will be out in a year ... but I feel I need to at least give it one more shot. I am not quite sure if meshing agrees with me or not. Can't seem to find too many tutorials with the details I need. But I will keep at it .... Have a good week!!!
Modern Elegance
This is a new lot that I am working on, although it's filled with custom content from artists who prefer to not have their items published on "pay sites", so I don't know if I'll be submitting it or not. I would have to clean it up to "substitue" some of the things in it. It's my first attempt at an all modern lot. I've seen several modern lots and am blown away by some of them so I wanted to try my hand at one. I hope you like it.
The Unsung Creator
I've been away for a time, enjoying my site, Simaholicsrus.com, and it has really been an eye-opener! I'm truly grateful to have been given the chance to play with it (Thanks Ricci2882!), but realize it's alot of hard work running your own site.On that note, I do read the profiles of all the folks that comment on my creations. I look at their creations, if they have any, and sometimes download a thing or two. I find the neatest things that way! Because of this, I've invited a select few creators to Guest Spot on my site. Please note that I do not choose SA/FA creators (they've already got their recognition!!). I'm after the "Unsung Creators" of TSR and other sites.
Do you know of any "Unsung Creators" that may like to Guest Spot on SRU? If so, drop me a PM!
Thanks for reading, see you next time!
Requests and other matters
This week I am finishing work on some requests for some very patient people(and I thank you folks for your patience) that have been made through both the PM system here and the Skinning forum. Previews will be posted soon.As for the "other matters"...Since us Sims1 artists now share the automated submissions system with the Sims2 artists, I will be updating more frequently. I am shooting for once a week, with publish day most likely on either Friday or Saturday.

Bathrooms!
Thanks to a request from MisfitChicks, I have finally gotten motivated to publish a bathroom set. The Designer Bath series launched yesterday! I tried to focus on Maxis recolors for most of the stuff, but also threw in rugs and curtains to complete the set. I've got a few more Bed in a Bag sets lined up, but after that I may have to retire that series for a while until some fresh inspiration comes along. If spring ever shows up and the rain EVER stops, then maybe that will happen!Spring FREEBIES
I haven't had much time to update the blog lately, but I've updated the freebies all the same. The free stuff during the coming Spring will be as follows:
From March, 24 to April, 21 the free sets will be:
Cielo Outdoor Lights
Cielo Outdoor Lights - Recolour set
These outdoor lamps have quite un unusual shape, taken from an Italian designer, and are perfect for modern homes or futuristic settings.
From March, 25 to April, 22 there will be another free set:
Modena Pastels - Set
simple walls and floors that look definitely better in game than in the preview.
From April, 21 to May, 19 the free sets will be:
Modern Staircase Set
Modern Staircase Recolours Set
This staircase, together with the recolours, was one of my "best sellers", when it was first published. Hope you like to see it free again. And I'll probably add a surprise set to these later on. You'll have to check my minisite.
From May, 20 to June, 17 the free sets will be:
Altitude Attitude Add-Ons set
Folding Staircase set
Softened Stone Set
Another very appreciated, and unusual staircase, plus some Maxis revamps and some stone floors.
After this period, I think I'll change the kind of free items, just to be sure you don't get bored of staircases. That's all. Enjoy!
Climbing Wall
New Item upp for download today. A climbing wall for kids. i made the animations myself and I am quite proud of them.I made a lot of recolours so they will match my other palyground items.
MH Info
Reading some of the comments to my last blog entry, I may have mistakenly given the impression that the Manor House Collection would be out by now.I'm sorry if I did that, because that's obviously not the case!
To clarify, I AM working on releasing the MH sets, but that involves alot of extra work. Adding shadows, correcting textures, fixing problems, etc. etc.
Judging by my progress thus far with the Garden set (the first set to be released), I should be ready to release it within the next couple of weeks (likely much, much sooner) =]
New Computer! Woop!
Who got a new computer? Me, thats who! And that means mooooooooore walls! >:DPoll Winners

The Prisoner
Next due: another lot from my Portmeirion / The Prisoner collection (Chantry Cottage - a residential lot for 4 sims). Would that some kind soul would now custom design a Mini-Moke for the driveway...Birthday!
I had a great birthday! It was awesome! No one but LaurieR was TRULY evil, and her EVIL wasn't even that bad! She sent me 40 e-cards to my work email (which was pretty funny and the hag sent some sappy ones that made me cry at work!) We had to wait for payday to really do anything for my birthday, which was okay. Mike took me, Heidibear and her mom out to Macaroni Grill (my favorite), and I got my awesome computer suitcase I wanted! I got a couple of movies, and got to go up to my moms house. My big brother and his wife came down and my mom fixed cornbeef and cabbage (YUM!). At dinner the other night, Mike and Bear teased me and egged on the waitress to tease me. It was fun. My rear end has survived the no spankings though!! YEAH and PTTTTHHH to those of you that wish EVIL on my butt! You know who you are!!If you like my writing...
If you like the Andretti Legacy, or any of the other stories I've written...you may want to take a trip to the TSR forums where I have two other stories. Desperation and also Far From Perfect. If you need help getting there, or would like links. Please feel free to PM me.
The PlayStation Series
That's right, I've started on the PlayStation series now!As before, I plan to release decorative items with my consoles, any suggestions for additional decorations that you want for your game would be welcomed.
The PlayStation 1 is now completed and uploaded, and will be releasing on:
March 28th: Non-Free Time version.
April 4th: Free Time version.
Watch this space, as I will be adding more dates here as I complete the consoles!
Welcome!
Hi Everyone,Welcome to my new minisite. I'm so excited to have been able to upgrade my page and its because of all of the wonderful support from everyone here at TSR, so thanks to all who have downloaded my creations.
Computer Crash!!
Hello Everyone,Due to a major computer meltdown new uploads will have to be put on hold for a while. I'm hoping to be up and running soon so please be patient.
Les Miserables d'Arles
Hi!It's almost midnight but just a few words before I go to bed:
I've just submitted a new lot, fully furnished and wornout, specially designed for your young & poor sim family.
Thanks to MsBarrows, who's Poorhouse set gave me this idea today! You know, I have a warm spot in my heart what it comes to poor sims & poor people! Since I've been quite poor myself at some point of my life, I know what it is like. This house, though, is also wornout, ugly and messy, and that mind you has nothing to do with being poor!! I actually love to be able to make things look nice without that much cash But never mind, I have submitted this new lot today after making a sketch at work during my lunch break!! I hope youll like it!!
Credits to MsBarrows, Cyclonesue & Maxoid Monkey.
Happy simming!

Recreated Sponging Sets
I have finished recreating the sponging sets that I had accidentally deleted. They're as close to the original ones as I could make them, but may be slightly different, seeing as how I had to start from scratch.I will be uploading them tonight and tomorrow, and they should start to become available for download by next week.
Hopefully you all enjoy them. I put a lot of work into them. :)
