Tropical Patio Set

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT /simple request
Fact is, I ADORE short hair. There's a mysterious essence to it that excites me and overwhelms my being. Truth is, I don't believe that others feel the same as I. As I search high and low for short hair for females, I always find my self highly disappointed. Make your own you say? Well, if I could I would...duh. That's where your help comes in. If you could link me, guide me or lead me to any SIMPLE and understandable information or tutorial as to how to create something like the picture below or know someone who knows how to do it and takes request, I would praise you for the rest of my days. Caravan Shop Sims2 is now Sims Design Avenue
I've edited my recolors of Caravan Shop Sims2 meshes to point to the new site but in case I missed any of the individual items, the link to the new site is this: http://www.simsdesignavenue.net/EN/avenue.phpSome of the credits would still show Caravan Shop Sims2 though, as I only fixed the mesh link. I have to admit I was surprised to see stand-alone items get a bigger percentage then texture-sharing items. But since texture-sharing is my thing, you're not going to see very many stand-alones! Especially since things like my clutter collections steal freely from each other's repositories.
I've posted a new poll, having to do with bedrooms. I may or may not get around to making some bedroom suites in the near future (near being an indeterminate quantity that may be the same as "never", or at least "a very long time from now" depending on how the object-creating mood strikes me), but mainly I'm curious to see how other people's tastes in bedroom furniture for their sims compares to mine.
Feel free to comment with any additional information about what, exactly, you consider absolutely essential in a bedroom set, and what optional extras you most enjoy seeing.
Retiring
Hi everyone,I'm sorry to report that I am retiring as an SA here at TSR. I have many things occupying my time lately and I don't feel I can maintain the same level of activity here that I always have. It wouldn't be fair to keep my SA status at this point, so I'm stepping out and looking forward to seeing who takes my place. ;)
I'm grateful to TSR for giving me a home to grow as an artist, time for me to get going. :)

New CashCraft PLdoors and window
Cashcraft has been using my wallpapers for her screenshots, and wanted to recolor her new fireplace in the textures of some of my ParkLane panels. Now she has made a fabulous set of ParkLane doors complete with glass doorknob, brass backplate, and keyhole to coordinate with the basic panel and the new egg and rope detailed panel. They are gorgeous in their detail. They will match beautifully with any of my ParkLane wallpapers and floors. Thank you, Carolyn!The Garden Shed Composter
A little addition to the Potting Shed Sets is a wooden crate composter, I wanted to create one that matched with the sheds better than the Maxis one, and also looked more rustic.
You've Come A Long Way, Baby...
Recently I've started looking over some of my older work here on TSR and cringing over the horrible errors I made with some of them, back when I was new to creating custom content and ignorant of all the fiddly details of how to set up my things properly.The two items I've found most immediately distressing were the horrendous shadows on the end tables for my "Window Seat" set, and how tiny the buy mode icons for my dish rack are - the latter being due to me leaving in the large-but-unused wall shadow texture planes.
So - I've fixed them! Updated .package files have been uploaded, and can be retrieved as follows:

Well free actually. I've decided to set my Maxis Roofs with White Trim free FOREVER! You'll now be able to include these in your own lots without fear of them becoming subscriber only as a result.

I'm finally going to try and maybe be semi-active here again. It's hard for me to do, because my main "talent" is recoloring things. XDThat's why I've made a couple of hair recolors, which are still waiting to go through, and that I'm hoping will get uploaded soon! I uploaded them Friday night, so we'll have to see how much longer they take. :P
But yes. Maybe sorta kinda I'll be active. =P

The time for me to pack up my computer is rapidly approaching, I have so much to do & so little time left to do it so I won't be around very much between now & next week. After next week it will be toward the end of March when I will(hopefully) be back.Thanks to everyone for downloading my creations, I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you all.
I've also had a lot of support & made a lot of friends since I had the good fortune to stumble across this site a year ago & I will miss all of you especially (and in no particular order) DragonessGirl, milanokat, sesame, walkerboh rumour, Valgrida, cariadbach, gvisn, hiedibear75, drewsoltesz & ameldacousins. All is not lost...
Okay, the computer has been erased. However, my game files have been saved on an external hard-drive. So, if all goes well...once I'm done installing and patching all the EP's and SP's, I will be back to working on the lovely legacy, as well as creating a lot for the winners of the Romantic Romance Contest over in the forums. So, let's just hope the back up went as planned, and that there will be the next part to the legacy on the drawing board.Oldest Mistake In History? (Another urinal!)
I'm sorry that my blog seems to be so toilet-and-urinal obsessed lately! There are no therapists who specialise in such obsessions where I live, so you'll just have to put up with another toilet-discussion...Yes, another urinal tale - a tale of an old mistake, a tale of something that 3571 people (out of 3572) did not spot - and why should you? You don't spend your lives planting urinals on Sim walls, do you? (if you do, do YOU know of any good therapists I could call?)
Back in January 2005 (oh-so-long-ago), my Urban Renewal urinal came to be. Unfortunately, it usurped the GUID of the Maxis community urinal. That's because I thought I was making a recolour, and quite forgot I had to clone the entire package so that we could have the urinal in our residential catalogs too.
Three years later, thanks to MsBarrows, I have uploaded a repaired urinal (and set it to be free so you can acquire it if you no longer have a subscription).

Villa Serena
For those who love my Mediterranean style homes...I've been working on a huge project lately - Villa Serena. (requested)
I've run into a lot of issues with it, but now I seem to have it back on track. I had to gut 3/4 of the first floor and 1/2 of the second floor - It just wasn't working out and I was not liking it! Anyway everything is now up to my standard liking and it should be ready in another week or so.. I promise you, You'll love it!
It turned out a bit big, so I decided to build a 'Villa Serena B' - a smaller version - which might be released as a partial furnished lot (kitchens, baths & landscaped done) in about a month or so.
And if your interested, I've started building these Mediterranean style homes on the 'Bon Voyage beach lots'

I know. I'm so sorry it's been a while since I've submitted anything. I'm a full time student and this semester I have a VERY full schedule. It's really taking up a lot of my free time, so I haven't been able to play my sims let alone create. I'll try to sneak in what I can when I get a break. I've received all of your wonderful comments and thank yous on my creations. There are so many of them! (lol) I was so happy to see all of the kind remarks, thank you all so much.Also wanted to let you all know that I submitted a nice little community park for your sims hoods. I hope you all like it.

I got hooked by the Africa theme from Texture Challange 72 and played around with the Reflexsims Roma bath. Several versions for each object came up and now I have to take decisions...that's hard Maybe a matching BV hotel room should follow...
The Clutter Continues...
Finally gotten some solid work in on the next clutter collection. Here's a little preview of what meshes I'm already made .packages of - more are waiting in the wings for me to get them polished and completed. There are some obvious flaws with the items shown here, they're still very much works in progress.
Princesses and other projects
Well, I've finished my Disney Princess bedrooms. There are still a few add-on things that I want to do. Well, really just more bedding and curtains. I also have an idea to do some dorm rooms, so keep an eye out for that. I'm finishing up some texture challenges, and would like to take a little break from those. I planned to, but they asked me to provide textures this week here at TSR. So, I kinda had to use them! Hopefully, I can find some time to get onto other projects soon. Real life is crazy right now, and that's not helping any. Thanks to all of you who pop in on my minisite to see what's new and read these things. I really appreciate it.Rustico table update

Valentine Story and Hotel
Most of the times, I consider myself a rational person, but this year, something awful and embarrassing happened: I allowed the hopeless romantic in me take over my creations at TSR.I hope this phase ends soon after Valentines day, so I can return to my normal state. Meanwhile, if you are like me, I hope you enjoy reading a fluffy romantic story made for Valentines day called.. well.. Valentine Story. I know it's not original, but as you can see, my brain has probably some malfunction, so I'm not responsible for my own actions.
The lot featuring the frontpage is actually a hotel called Valentine Hotel and will be released on Valentines day. Again, not really original! Anyway, I'm in trouble. I can't see how this happened in the first place, but I feel like I've been hit with a romantic curse. If someone cares, pray for this to end, as I'm two steps away from ruining my reputation forever at TSR.

Valentine Glamour
A set of glamorous lingerie for Valentine's Day for adults and young adults in seven colours and black. Created from delicate folded net to give a ruched effect. The full cup bra features zig zag trim in black lace with pretty bows at the base of the straps and diamant� detail between the cups. The matching briefs have a full back in slinky sheer black gauze with frills of polkadot net accentuating the hips.

I did recollor some new diaper outfits for our little toddler girls, to wear for Swimming suites at the beach. If you like they also can be used for undies & everyday. These outfits don't need anny expansions to show them up in your game, because I used the Basic game diapers. I hope you like these swimming suites. I know toddlers can't swim like other Sims do, but I think they wil look verry sweet in these nappies.
Improved Flat Roof Trims (fences)...
I've been contacting anyone I know has downloaded my flat Roof Trims but there are still some 400+ of you out there who I can't find, so I hope this finds YOU instead!If you've used the flat roof trims already, you might have noticed that, if you join up a diagonal and straight piece, the corner ends of both pieces jut out in an unsightly way. I couldn't find a way of fixing this previously. However, I've since found that, if I make the diagonal a wider piece than the straight piece, this makes the corner edges meet up properly - just about (it's improved, anyway).
And if you are one of the good folks I PM'd earlier, and you redownloaded the trims immediately, you might still not have the most up to date trims (the servers were a bit slow in keeping up with me). If you DO have the most up to date versions, you'll find that diagonals and straights intersect with barely any join showing at all.

I just noticed my last screenshot (yesterday's entry below). A fairly modern room in muted greens, beautifully polished floor, clean wood furniture. All so lovely...And then we look through the window on the left and what do we see? An abandoned factory shell on the horizon! How typical is that?! Urban Renewal creeps in everywhere!
Screenshots with easy ceilings
After battling with a photograph of a flat-roofed building where views into the windows exposed blue sky upstairs (where there was supposed to be a flat roof), I remembered the glass double-sided ceiling tiles I'd made. I expect you don't remember those so here's a link: LOOK AT THESE TILES NOW. In theory, the same approach should work for solid tiles too, and if it does, lo and behold, no more toplessness! Ceilings at last! BUT (there's always a 'but' in my blog posts) there are a few problems. (1) modified floor tiles don't reflect light, so lamps and windows have no effect on them, making them no good for ordinary indoor floors, and (2) lighting can be a bit of a fiddle: build on top of the ceiling, and it goes dark; don't build on top, and it can be VERY light!

If I'm looking for TV & Movie shows ideas I tend to buy them on DVD & then sit down with a sketch book & the remote! I also draw inspiration from playing strategy games & their guides.

Gone all Potty!!
After discovering it was possible to clone the Greenhouse walls,thanks to Numenor, I thought it would be a good idea to use the walls to build a garden shed, The Potting Shed sets which include these shed/greenhouse walls can be used exactly like the greenhouses, so you can grow plants in them also. The sets also include decorative plants and workbenches etc.Also 2 decorative roofs 3x4 and 4x5, you don't have to use these, you can use Maxis roofs too.
New hair mesh and tutorial
While messing with Photoshop I noticed something that I didn't know about which had led up to my next two releases: a curly/wavy ponytail mesh(and recolors) and a new tutorial on how to make the textures! The tutorial follows up my previous straight hair texture tutorial, so its recommended that you do that one first. (Unless you already know how to make straight hair) It's fairly basic, and you shouldn't have too much trouble with it

BV Hotel Room
The last ten days I was experimenting with the BV hotel room meshes and TC74. The results are still incomplete and I won't upload the final but I became very much impressed by the complexity of Maxi's meshes. When I've cracked the last secrets I will try an upload version of the BV theme. Here are my poor results after 10 days...
