Newsletter Interview
1) Who are you? Tell us a little about yourself.My name is Shaz & I live in Adelaide in Australia. I'm 39, married & have 2 Maltese Terriers (small white fluffy dogs) who are my "kids". I love watching movies, reading books & listening to music.
2) How long have you been a TSR Featured Artist, and what bought you to TSR in the first place?
I've only recently become a Featured Artist, but I first joined TSR in May 2005, as I loved the variety & quality of the downloads.
3) What do you primarily create for the game and its community?
Lots & Neighbourhoods, but I've also created a "Renovation" Challenge & a tutorial called "Life's a Beach... & How to Make One".
4) When creating new content, where do you draw ideas and inspiration from?
Books, Magazines, Requests, Images from the web (www.houseplans.com & www.creativehomeowner.com) TV Shows & Movies
5) Typically, how long does it take you create new content?
When I'm really inspired to build, I can complete a small house in about 2-3 hours unfurnished or 4-5 hours if it's furnished. Sometimes it takes a week of "tweeking" before I'm happy with it. Larger community lots tend to take me weeks as I tend to do a little bit at a time. It all depends on the strength of the inspiration.
6) Has the way you create changed since being Featured at TSR?
No, but I do feel more confident.
7) What advice would you give to newcomers to the TS2 Modding/Creating scene?
We all have to start somewhere, so don't be too hard on yourself. My rule is - if I wouldn't download it, then I don't upload it. I started by downloading houses I liked, then I'd go in & "deconstruct" them to see how they were made. Read tutorials, study your favourite lots & try to figure out what makes them so appealing to you. Then try to recreate the effect yourself. If you make a mess, use the undo & start again. Also when photographing your lots, click on the "..." options menu, that way the gridlines won"t show up in your photos.
8) How long have you been playing The Sims games and what do you enjoy about them most?
I only started playing the Sims 1 in 2003, as my old computer wouldn't run it. I love being able to create a house & then move my favourite movie & book characters into them. My favourite thing though, is the change of Seasons.

Sense and Sensibility
As my Aztec theme runs out of steam, I find myself drawn back to my old love... namely Jane Austen (and the Regency period). Next to come: Barton Cottage, from "Sense and Sensibility" (the 1995 film version). I have tried to use no expansion pack items for this lot, though there is a chance I might have used some unwittingly (in which case, drop me a private message and I'll try to rectify it). I also hope to bring out more period clothes. If anyone has any requests, please feel free to make them (Especially if you have any really good photographs of clothes which you'd like me to do, as I am tired of having to paint by hand and would sooner cheat any day ;) ).SHORT TIME-OUT

Coming soon: Riley's House
For those of you who are interested, here is a screenshot of Maxis game, Sims Life Stories. I installed this game 07.Feb.07 and have played the two wonderfull stories in this game, with a whole lot off fun!
This game plays the almost same as The Sims 2 with few exceptions. It plays a lot easier, espessialy for laptops. You also have a buildmode wich is really great! But I also discovered something in this game, wich I didn't like at all! You are not able to have a camera to shoot some nice pictures. Why did they left that out? Just like a lot of other people, I like picture shooting so much!
Anyway, I decided to rebuild one off the ingame houses I liked the best from The Sims Life Stories. It's the house were Riley lives. She's a beautifull ingame character from the first storie.
BTW: I builded the inside of Riley's house a little bit different, because at the original house, there is a halfwall in the middle off the room wich I didn't like.
Another project in mind
My first mesh with recolours is finished and uploaded and I will start on my new mesh for teens on thursday, cos I'll be free from work!God, I LOVE meshing! And I hate skinning, but I really put all my effort and determination to make these skins nice for you all. I could have been more picky though, but then I would be making one skin for daaaays. Now it takes around 1-2 days. That's also why I make small sets. I'd be dead if I made them big! =)
I'm STUPID!
I was cleaning off unwanted things off of my desktop today and managed to delete the folder that contained all of my sponging walls sets. I had 18 sets in all, and I think I had uploaded all but 5 or 6. I am so incredibly bummed. At this point, I'm not going to try to figure out which ones are missing. Especially since I'm in the middle of something new. I may try to redo them some time in the future, but as of right now they are not priority.Coming soon: New Toddler dresses
I did recollor some new dresses for our cute little toddler girls, to wear this upcoming Spring. It's the third set of my Gardendresses for toddlers. This one is called "Lavender Garden" It needs just like the other dresses, only Maxis. Hope you like it and enjoy them as much in your game as I did love to create them.

Wow, over 300.000 downloads! I'm amazed that so many of you have been downloading my beddings, leaving comments on them and have signed my guestbook! A big thank you to you all!I'm just letting you guys know, I'm going away for a few days today.
A lot of people have requested that I do more elder female pyjamas, and some more maternity wear. I promise I shall see what I can bring to you when I get back from my break :]
I'm back at work on Sunday/Monday, so this break is needed, as this is the only chance I have to have it :[

Working on it
Well, I'm working on getting back to a more regular submission schedule. My son had the good sense to pour Coke on his laptop, so until that gets repaired, I'm back to sharing again. This means my development time will be a bit curtailed. But this should only last a week or two and then I'll be back to normal. Hang in there!Important note: Please re-download the alpha mesh
I'm really sorry for my mistake, but i saw a problem with my newest alpha teen mesh when my teen was sitting on a chair.It's not important for short recolors of the alpha mesh part (like the recolors of the first set), but on longer skirts (like the recolors i'm cureently working on) it doesn't look good at.
So i edited the old mesh. When you download the new one it overwrites the old and everything should be OK :)

Hey Guys,I just wanted to write this short note to let anyone who regularly downloads my creations know that i am having Internet Problems at the moment which is why my Uploads are few and far between.
It's really getting beyond a joke. I am getting VERY frustrated with my ISP. At first i thought it might be something to do with my computer but after talking to others who have the same Internet that i have they have also said they are having problems.
I spent half an hour on the phone tonight trying to get through to a technician but ended up giving up. I'm going to try again tomorrow.
So i just wanted to apologise.
Thanks though to everyone who is still leaving me comments.

Working on Rejal Buildset
You can soon expect more items for the Rejal Buildset. Just want to show you a little preview of one of the window versions that the Rejal set will contain. :) There's a master mesh window and 8 slave meshes that use the texture of the master mesh. This means less image data in your game as well you only need to recolor the master mesh to have all 9 window meshes recolored. :D

New Sets
Hi all, sorry for the lack of activity lately. School is giving me a wee bit more homework that I like, so I haven't really had time to work in SimPE much.Moon
It's utterly useless, but it makes for some nice screenshots.
It is a mesh (not some kind of special effect) and it does have a small arrow on the actual grid tile to grab/rotate/change color and what not. The arrow also serves to point to where in the sky the moon is. Right now I only have the base mesh done, but I will be doing recolors like half moon, harvest moon, larger moon, and higher/lower positioned moon.

My Food Downloads
A couple of people have stated that my custom foods don't work in their game, that the sims prepare the food and then it disapears.Please read the download information!
All my food downloads state that the custom plates are required. If you do not have all the required custom plates the food WILL NOT work, it will disapear once finished cooking as the game cannot find the plate(s) to put it on!
New Set - Sports wear for Adult females
It seems that I figured out meshing, at last! I only have to do the skinning now. So, you will be able to download it pretty soon. I really hope you'll like it!After this, I will continue meshing, but making meshes for teens only.

I'm so excited.
Not only is it my birthday on the 5th but yesterday my flights to the Oman were confirmed as well. I will be jetting off to my new life in the sun on the 17th March, I can't wait.PANIC!!! I only have 3 weeks left to pack up the rest of my house, my hubby is leaving 2 weeks before me so we have to hand our house over at the end of Feburary, then Sam & I will be moving in with my parents for a couple of weeks.
I don't think I'll be doing many more creations (if any) between now & when I move, we will see.
Macarons *maybe for sims*
I was interested to create macarons for my little sims! I found a great idea: i was fed up of the horrible and sad Toaster Pastries so, i decided to make macarons to replace this bad pastries!!!Now everything is finished, you just have to wait!!!

...okay, so I haven't built anything in a long time. I'm having terrible withdrawls. So, I'm going to toss this out there...I take requests for lots, some have already been posted for download that have been requested by other's. If you'd like something, don't send me a picture and expect me to build it, I'm weird and see that as plagerism (sp?). But, you can most certainly send me a plausible idea and I'll try it out.
So, if any of you have anything you'd like in particular, let me know and I'll see what I can do. I don't like using CC or other modifications so it has to be within Maxis Make-Up.

New job!
I'm starting a new job on wednesday, so I expect to be busy in the next couple of weeks. I've already got a few new sets ready which only need uploading and approving. By the time I'm all settled and used to the new situation (different working hours) I'll be uploading again regularly.Who'd have thought it?

Springtime Creations
O.k, it's Wintertime, but I don't like that, and thats the reason why I'm working on some new Springtime Creations for our little toddler girls. I am aware off the fact that our toddlers keep growing up verry fast. But I think our little toddlers are a forgotten or a necklected group by Maxis who need some lovely clothes to. We have to wait until the next expansion for real new Maxis meshes & clothing for toddlers. They are really sweet, aren't they? I did see a lot off wonderfull revieuws about The Sims2FreeTime, and I'm really looking forwards to buy this new expansion. Really love the sweet clothes, cribs, the toys, and also the new options and the games wich toddlers & kids in the near future can play together!!! About my Springtime creations. The first set of two dresses for little toddler girls called "Walking in the Garden" is upcoming soon. They will be released at 2 Februari & need only the BaseGame. Released Dickens Cottage
Today is the day of the release for my Dickens cottage. It's Victorian furnitured and build on a small lot 2x2. Why didn't I build a medium or large lot? Well.. I would like that, and sometimes I do build medium or large, but I've noticed that there are a lot off people out there who have problems after downloading a big lot with theyre pc & graphics. Example: After downloading & installing - the game is running - you here the music - the screen is black - your fresh installed medium or large lot does not show up - even after waiting 15 minutes or longer. Reason: Unfortunaly it means that your grafics, or the memory of your pc are to low. This is also the reason why you are unable to run medium or large lots. What to do about it? You can try to update your graphics. If thats not possible, it's the best to download smaller lots. Now you know the reason why I decided to build smaller. Small lots are easy playing. They are friendly to pc's with low graphics. For me, it's a challenge to do that, even if that's sometimes much more difficult than building a medium or a big lot. Hope you like this cosey Dickens cottage and enjoy it in your game as much as I enjoyed to build it. Grtz, Dirtdevill

This set was inspired by sims2sisters' gorgeous TSR bodymesh 104 for teen girls. This is such a versatile mesh with its alpha skirt allowing for uneven hems and lace. As soon as I had downloaded it and had finished drooling over sims2sisters' beautiful re-colours, wondering where I could possibly buy these skirts in real life, I got started on some re-colours of my own. And here is the result: five very feminine nomad-style skirts in denim, crushed velvet and lace with five co-ordinating mix & match tops.
The tops and boots are Maxis-based. The boots gave me quite a bit of trouble (I'm not very good at footwear!) but I think they worked out OK in the end. I've always loved the one-shouldered University tops so it was great to finally get to play about with them. I've used the very pretty Maxis T-shirt with lace inserts previously, in my Pyjama Party Part 3 set.
Now I need this mesh for adults, please! :-)
In case you are wondering.....
why I haven't had any uploads lately, the reason is my computer died on me shortly before Christmas. Good news though! I have it back and am ready to create! So check back often, I will be uploading a set soon!
Attention Recolorists!
If you downloaded my NK Homeright Living Room meshes with the intent of recoloring them, you may have run into some problems. That is because several of the files are not the final versions! Somehow or another, I did not update something somewhere and old versions of my meshes got uploaded to TSR. I've corrected that, but it doesn't seem to be showing up in the zips yet. Give it a little while to kick in and then please re-download to get the correct files. My humble apologies. For other people who are not recoloring the set, I don't think it will matter unless the end table doesn't hold items appropriately and then you will need to redownload that. In the earlier versions, items hung off the edge of the table. Please let me know whenever you experience a problem such as this and I'll correct it as soon as possible.
