COME TO MYKONOS!
I have been working on this almost to months. I wanted to bring a real Mykonos feeling andthese of you who have seen the Greek Mykonos Island's pics you know what I mean. I needed
a few greek signs so I had to create (recolor) the CCs I have used in it. It is a
community lot almost 5MB with restaurants, openair markets, cafes, disco, pool... even
rooms to let!... It is built in different levels with no hacks. I am proud of the result
and I really have fun "walking" my sims into it.

Padre's Tokyo Bedroom Recolour
After months of threats, I am, finally about to release my 2nd recolour. Big thanks, Hugs n stuff to P who has put up with my incessent whining, questions & general whittering. I hope ive done the set justice!
Just Curious...
Hi, I was thinking of having a small 'Flip this house' Challenge. I was just curious if there was any interest in that! There wouldn't be any prize or anything...just for fun. I was throwing around the idea of this type of challenge strictly for my downloaders/fans!I also welcome lot builders at any experience level. This could be a great learning experience! I would set up a thread in the forums so we could exchange pics. There would be a start and end date. There will be more details if there is an interest.
If this sounds interesting please reply here and depending on the amount of interest, we'll see...I'll give 1 week for responses.
*** Sun July 29, I'll post in my blog if this challenge will go ahead! ***
Update
That time again (before I get lost to Harry Potter). I'm uploading some new walls today as promised. I noticed I hadn't upload my wall tiles v2. Oops! I uploaded those floors quite some time ago. Sorry about that!It will take about 4 days for them to be approved and published.
Enjoy!
Mel
Thanks for the Thanks
Just wanted to say thank you to all the people pressing the Thanks button. Went over 200,000 thanks just recently. That's a lot of gratitude and I appreciate it!Also, I wanted to mention, for those who are taking the poll and answered What the dickens is a poly count, if you visit Sunair's blog, she does a really great job of explaining it, so I thought I'd refer you there instead of trying to repeat it.
Have a great day and THANK YOU!
Living in style
The next set I have made is based on Elize@37sims Micha bedroom set which I had A LOT of fun recolouring. I also had a lot of fun creating this faux magazine style layout! I very tongue and cheek used Darren Dreamer as my home owner and I hope you think the attached text next to picture is amusing - I had a great time writing them :) For some reason I have been feeling very passionate about earthy natural tones lately and the contrast of the colour orange (my living room is starting to show this he-he). I will start work on recolouring Sasilia's Comtoir des Epices set next (hopefully I can find the original textures!) by request. hugs Nancy xx | ![]() |
SA
This was really surprise for me (one reason is that I was sure only 5 people can be selected as SA in one munth :D). But soo nice surprise!I'll keep good work and hope you'll enjoy my future creations as much as I enjoy to create :)
Thanks TSR! :)
Walls and floors
I've discovererd I really like making walls and floors. I start out thinking I'll just make one set of a certain colour and I end up making loads as the possibilities are endless. Then I have a hard time deciding which ones to upload and which ones to leave out. I don't know if this happens only to me or it happens to everyone. I've just uploaded a red room set and am going to upload a pink room soonFREE Rotation Schedule

Slowly but surely
I'm still here and I'm still working on the first set of objects in the first Just Color set. Vacations and sports and cycling really drag me away from the computer in the summer, but I'm almost there with the next release. The upcoming set will focus on Living Room furniture including sofa, loveseat, chair, rugs, curtains, wall hangings, fireplace, and lamps. This is the most ambitious set I've taken on thus far, which is another reason that it's taking me so long!Kitchen 04

Birthday Party 2007
It's become a tradition (well, it's the second time, anyway!) for me to create a set of cocktail party dresses to celebrate my birthday (23rd of July). This year I've chosen an ultra feminine pink and black theme and used Chriko's delectable ShortBallGown mesh from 2-f0r-u.de. This beautiful mesh has two extra alpha layers over the skirt allowing for the creation of translucent layers and lace. Each dress in this set has a strapless boned embroidered bodice and a satin skirt. Some of the dresses have one or two additional lace overskirts. All come with matching heels.
The dresses are categorised under formal wear and can be worn by adult and young adult females.
To locate the mesh at 2-f0r-u.de, go to the "meshes" menu on the left hand side and click on "fashion" then "female". Go to page 8 and the mesh is the right hand mesh in the middle row called "ShortBallGown". In order to see this mesh, you need to scroll up a bit using the (difficult to see) scroll bar immediately to the right of the preview pictures.

Upcoming Lots
Hi there! I don't know if anyone ever reads this, but for those who do, here are some lots that I PLAN to build, but there are no guarantees yet!A couple more SEASIDE LOTS (residential or community)
Of course, the last lot in my current Modern Series, "The ROCK" Modern Home... this will be surely done!
Some more small community or residential lots that are not SEASIDE types...
Those are it for now... I have not yet specified what type, but certainly here is something to look forward to!
Rereading Harry Potter
Sorry - I have totally postponed chapter 15 so I can hurry and finish book 5 and 6 of Harry Potter before the 7th book comes out. I've been rereading them all since March but time was drawing near and I hadn't finished 5 or 6. I saw the 5th movie, it was okay, they so much out. I can't tell you how excited I am for the 7th book. But it's so sad that my favorite series will soon come to an end.I'll be away this weekend camping at the Finger Lakes for a wine tasting festival and celebrating my 1 year wedding anniversary! Wow, I can not believe it.
A little bit of this...
So I have been dabbling a bit with little items - some random hair colours and a recolour of Solfal's cute wee boat for toddlers (sorry couldn't resist it was just to cute!) I also have been felled by two nasty colds in quick succession - this latest one has laid me out completely. Tina I got your request so I will get cracking. You are not the only one to ask for that recolour so that makes it more likely I will do it. :) Well me and my sore tired bones will hobble back to bed take care all of you - hugs Nancy xx | ![]() |
Sneak Preview!
Here is a sneak peek of my upcoming set, "Roselynde." To view additional screen shots of the Roselynde Dining Room collection, please visit my forum. Take care and thank-you for all of your wonderful comments on my creations. Unfortunately, I cannot reply to all of your comments, but they are read and greatly appreciated.
Updates!
I just updated the Victorian Scullery trash compactor for the Seasons EP. Sims can now compost their trash! The updated file and its recolor will be published on July 19th. The new trash compactor package will NOT override the existing package in your download folder. So, unless you want both versions of the trash compactor, you should manually remove the original package.A recolor of my Victorian Bedroom nightstand is available now, you can get it here,
Victorian Nightstand
And Now?
The last week has been a really full one. Becoming a Featured Artist is a real honour for everyone who submits here at TSR. I would like to thank you all again for your warm messages. If I forgot to sign someone's guestbook and thank you personally, I'm sorry, I just overlooked you. So, please consider yourself thanked. And I'd like to thank Thomas and TSR again for this opportunity. I still find it hard to believe it, and that's probably because I don't know a person with less creativity than the undersigned. Believe me, I know what I'm talking about. I simply look at the real world and at the game and sometimes I see something missing that would be fine to have in there. And if I can, I make it. I'm very picky and over-meticulous: that's why I'm a slow creator and don't submit as many creations as others do. And when I submit something, it's not in most cases because I'm satisfied with it, but because I give up. And now what can you expect from me? Well, I've got a lot of things going on. - I've been asked to make a matching study for the Sintesi series and it's almost ready. - The Acropolis set is taking more time than I thought, since it has become wider; you'll have to wait some more time for it, but I think it will be worth the waiting. - There are more stairs and fences on the way. - And I had to stop with all these things because I had this strange idea for a round connecting unit to complete the modular stairs. It woudn't go out of my mind and wait for its turn, so I had to make it straightaway. The first set is matching the wooden stairs, and others will follow soon.
So keep an eye on my minisite for the future developments. And if you have requests, feel free to ask. I cannot assure you I will accomplish them, but I will take them into due consideration.
I'm alive(ish)!
Hmm... I'm not really good with keeping a blog it seems. I've had a really busy month so far so I haven't been real active with uploading or in the forums. I'll be leaving this Sunday for Missouri, so for about a week I wont be around at all to answer an PM's and whatnot. I should be back to creating (and posting in the forums) sometime in the first week of August
SIMPHANY.COM MEMBER DOWNLOADS NOW FREE!
Copying and pasting the explanation from the site itself below. Enjoy the member downloads, and keep in mind that if you recolor and link to them before the weekend of 7/21/07, their location will be moved to the Free Downloads section, and will not be the same.____________________________________________________________________
Simphany.com is proud to announce that it will no longer be accepting Membership fees from the general public. As of 7/21/07, Simphany's current Member Section Downloads will be moved to the free section, and made available for free use to the public (do be sure to link back to the site though, and send pictures of your recolors! I love seeing them!)
The reason behind all of this starts, I guess, with the telling of a University based Sims 2 group that has offered to cover the domain costs the site requires, in return for exclusivity of member content. To put it quite simply, they want to make sure that no one else will have access to the files on my site, and a few other current and previous site owners that they've made the same agreement with--who now just submit creations directly to their site.
I declined the offer a year ago, when I was first asked to join (for one, I didn't know how to mesh yet, so I didn't think I'd be of much use to them...they assured me that recolors of meshes already hosted on their site would suffice, but I wanted my downloads to be available to the general public), but made a deal upon reconstruction of the site that once my site was "Self-proclaimed-Robin-Hooded" I guess you could say, lol, I'd make any and all Member Downloads that were current at the time available to the public, and from then on devote new meshes to the University site and forums.
I do not have permission to host their sitename here (or on my own site), but I hope to be able to give it out in the near future (it's an awesome idea they came up with). Please do not ask me for access to their downloads, I have already signed an agreement to make them exclusive to their use in exchange for hosting costs to the site.
Funny thing is that I was at my halfway mark with site costs, and planned on opening the Members Section to the public anyway once I had reached my goal of hosting costs for a year. Fate has a way of working out though, and I'm really happy and honored to have been asked to contribute to the University's Member Downloads section.
Although I cannot give out any information on their site name, the names of site owners--or even the Universities they are running their site from, I am able to give a little information about their goal, and what they do on my site (click the "Important Site Updates" button for further explanation).
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the members who helped to keep the site open. Enjoy the free Downloads everyone! And yes, I will keep the free section updated-- I promise! No more emails about that, please.

Thanks TSR
I am very happy of being a SA! I was not expecting it since I still believe I am more of a player than a creator. Nevertheless by becoming a SA... my creative desire has been awaken! Lol... I love creating Greek themes for a purpose: To use them in my lots. I spend hours and hours, days and days "building" my lots. I spend a lot of time for the details in them. I pretend I am a sim and walk in them, seeing the different angles. I love "building"!Harry Potter Collection - Leaky Couldron Dorm
Well the wait for Deathly Hallows are almost over and all to soon we will be able to read the final chapter in this incredible series from the very talented JK Rowling. Many people have speculated that there might be more HP books in the future but Mrs. Rowling has said in quite a few interviews that Deathly Hallows will defiantly be the final Harry Potter book and that she will ensure the series ends in a way that no other writer will be able to continue the story after her either. She has said though that she might write another little add on book for charity - like Quidditch Throught the Ages and Incredible Creatures and Where to Find Them. But until then, to keep us all busy, here is another HP lot to add to your collection. It was a tiny, grubby-looking pub. If Hagrid hadnt pointed it out, Harry wouldnt have noticed it was there. Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. As a tribute to the two weeks Harry spend living at the Leaky Couldron (in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban) I have decided to turn it into a dorm for all our Sim students to enjoy. This well known entrance to Diagon Alley has enough rooms to house 6 students comfortably, while providing them with everything they need to complete their studies.
Have fun :-)

Late!
Well, as you can see, to your left, I have released the 3rd in my Back to Basics Tutorials... Wall Murals! These need a bit more concentration and a little bit more working in Photoshop, but heck arent the results worth it?The Texture Challenge
Wow, what can I say about The Texture Challenge?Well, I think I can safely say that many of us would never have had the courage to recolor objects without the continual support of the participants in the TC thread. I would still be recoloring walls and floors. I was terrified when I downloaded SimPE and started it up, but the kind words in the TC gave me the courage I needed to press forward and venture into the unknowns of SimPE.
A big thank you goes to DOT for starting us off. It was her push on 17 April 2006 that got Atwa started. And speaking of Atwa, a very special thank you goes to her. Without her, I really feel that the TC would have died long ago. This is why I suggested to a fellow newbie that we do something for her.
The following links will lead you to the other 5 people that helped in the TC50 Tribute Set for Atwa.

Another thank you goes to girl_from_mars and Thomas, who helped us keep our little secret while coordinating the release of our joint project for Atwa. Without them, it would have been difficult, to say the least. Maybe impossible to do it the way wanted.
I would like to extend my thanks to all the people in the Texture Challenge. You've all been so kind and helpful.
And while I'm extending things, I'll extend a hand to anyone who wishes to join us. Whether you're new at recoloring or an old pro, we'd love to have you join us. If you're new, this is a great place to get your feet wet. Head over to the forums and see us sometime.

The collection of textures
A year. Wait...A year?!
I just saw where I got my kudos for my membership birthday. Apparently it is July 8th. So, I have been a member a year and will be making CC a year at the end of August. I cannot believe how much I have learned in the past year and how much left I have to learn. I didn't even know what a mesh was when I joined last July. I had no idea that making CC for a game would be this complex or this rewarding. Thanks to all who have made my last year fun, exciting and educational. It has been a real adventure this last year. Here's hoping I learn just as much over the next one.
Just as a piece of nostalgia, here is my first TSR submission:

Crappy, huh?
BTW, how can you have 104% on a poll? Isn't that mathematically impossible?
Swan Pediment
The Swan Pediment has been fixed and updated!Art Deco Floor Tiles
My second set of floor tiles - this time a set of eight elegant pink and cream ceramic tiles, again with an art deco/nouveau theme. I'm really enjoying turning my hand to something new, especially now that I'm getting the hang of HomeCrafter (well, kind of...)

TC50
Well, if you've been to the front page, you know that this is a big week for the Texture Challenge Forum as we celebrate our 50th texture challenge. There is a TC50 house and a community lot and much more to come during the week. I hope you'll join us in the celebration and I hope as you visit the participating artists that you'll be sure to tell them how much you appreciate their hard work. Some of these creators are only beginners and have put a lot of effort into this celebration. The things they've come up with have amazed me. I hope you enjoy our work! Have a great TC50 week!Toddler Water Land
I am working on a new project. A little theme week "Toddler water land". I have made a story about it and will release the objects for the water park during the week. It is not quite finished but I hope I will have it upp when I comes back from my vacation.

Tribute To Atwa
On April 17, 2006 a Challenge was issued: A game started by the wonderful and talented Laprin of Sims1, in the Skinning Forum here at TSR. I am attaching a texture and hope that willing recolor artist will create an object using that texture. ~ DOTWould anyone respond? One, two, three, four.Less than eight hours later the challenge was on! At 6:54 a talented young artist by the name of Atwa just had to have a go.
As the artists began to create, something happened that no one could have predicted. Objects were being produced that were too good to keep to themselves. Atwa asked in excitement, Shall we all submit our work maybe???
The group loved the idea, but how would they do it? When submitting, maybe we should call it similar so we can point to all the creators...? A name perhaps we all can use? she suggested.
Everyone loved the idea. Sww-sww-sww wondered aloud, Texture challenge? Or something like that? Atwa ran with it Yes, sounds good. And after uploading her sets she announced, I went with the "Texture ChallengeThis was fun.... "
As the weeks went on real life began to take its toll. Computers began to crash and artists became distracted. But Atwa trudged along, sometimes single-handedly, and kept the Texture Challenge alive.
Did her dedication and perseverance pay off? On March 7, 2007, almost a year later, she told this ever-growing group I have an announcementWe have now a new category in themes.
This week, because of Atwas perseverance and endurance, Texture Challenge is proud to release its 50th texture. To show her our appreciation the newest members on this team have dedicated 6 individual sets comprised of 4 of her vase meshes re-colored in all 50 textures released to date.
Atwa is a kind and patient person who is supportive and willing to give honest feedback. She takes feedback as graciously and openly as she gives it. She helps creators old and new with their questions. If she doesn't know an answer she generally can point the questioner in the right direction. She is always a pleasure to talk to and her creations are highly anticipated.Thank you, Atwa!
Show her your appreciation by taking the time to add these lovely meshes to your game. You will want to drop by Atwas mini-site for more of her creations. Be sure to stop for a moment and give her a bit of feedback on her works or even just leave her a guestbook message to say hi! She will appreciate it and so will we.
