Bauhaus inspiration
I have recently been introduced to the Bauhaus style of building. In a time of political turmoil in Europe, the Bauhaus school was created as a place for craftsman and artist to work together without class distinctions or discrimination.
The Bauhaus school was started in Germany in 1919 but only started offering classes in architecture in 1927.
Radically breaking with the past, the Bauhaus Masters and their students ushered in a modern era and a new way of thinking about architecture.
"The approach of the Modernist architects was to reduce buildings to pure forms, removing historical references and ornament in favor of functionalist details." (Wikipedia)
Bauhause style is also refered to as International style.
Although my two Bauhaus inspired houses (1 & 2 Berlin Street) are not replicas of any existing buildings I hope you will enjoy them and that they might inspire you to find out some more about this facinating style of architecture.
oh my im HYPEEEEERRRRRRRR!!!!
Wow.. I mean I really am! after discovering that the pharmacy was potentially trying to kill me off altogether by prescribing me 3 TIMES the correct dosage of my new "Pain Killers" which happen to be Tablets that Epilepsy sufferers use to prevent the fitting... I was confused at this too, but apparently they have been used duccessfully for people with Diabetic Neuralgia too so my doc thought I should give them a whirl... and guess what? They WORK! a lot of the general pain has gone, im a bit stiff, but other than that ive only had to take 2 ot my normal painkillers in 5 days so far - thats down from say, 30 Co-Codamol's to 2! How good is that?!However - the side effect is that im so unbelievable hyper, it like im one of theose Pregnant women doing that barmy nesting thing before they give birth, Ive rushing around everywhere soing so much stuff, my head is racing all the time - I just can stop - heck im even typing this with so much speed i have to keep stopping to check im not just mashing the keyboard and at least some of this is actually readble!!! Dave is just looking real confused as Im flying around the house cleaning, washing and doing all manmner of niggly jobs ive ben putting off for god know how long!
In a way I hope the hyperness stays cos i feel really good and awake and able to do things instead of that "Crack, Crunch, groan" each time i get up.. Hail Gabapentin!!!
Garden Butterflies
I made the butterflie flowers as garden flowers also. They still dont raise the room score much but they looks nice, and adds a little fun!
The Bees Knees!!
Hey everyone! Been a while, so I figured I would update you all on whats going on in my creative world these days. As of this posting, "Borderline" should be just about released, which I am very fond of. Its a bit of a tribute to 80's era Madonna, and my own (top only) take on that popular Tata Young Sim that's going around. I love the idea of a peek-a-boo bra strap, and tons of chains with charms. I think it will be just what some you are looking for, and the rest of you will probably scrunch up your nose, which is perfectly understandable! (its a take it or leave it kind of look, after all)On the flip side of that sort of idea, I have created the first outfit for my Fifties collection, and I call it Que Sera. (get the reference?) I called it that because, quite simply, it reminds me of the spunky gal who sings that song. The cardigan is actually modeled after a modern sweater, which has been one of my favorites. It has an obvious 50's flavor, and I thought it would look adorable with a tweed-type skirt, and cute little heels. I had a real problem finding the right kind of mesh to use, and I settled on one of Chriko's gorgeous meshes. I say "settled" because, the shoes are not quite perfect on this particular mesh. The shoe is meant to be a kind of flip-flop style, so even though these are full shoes, they separate from the sole during certain parts of the walking animation. I dont think its too noticeable unless you are really looking, so hopefully you gracious folks will overlook it. That's a tough kind of decision for me to make, because I am a real stickler for the details, but there was simply no other mesh that would do, and the adjustments to the design would have had to be extreme in order to make it okay, and by then it would lose its authenticity. Below is a picture of one of the full outfits, and below that is a demonstration of the shoe glitch. (That is an extreme example, just to give you an idea of how it looks at its worst. For the most part, that never happens.)

Oh, and by the way - check out my forum thread for a picture of another sweater update coming soon, this one being quite a bit more modern than these two pieces I have just been talking about.
May 13th, Victorian Nursery Extras
A few extras for the Victorian Inspired Nursery Collections. The set includes recolors of the rocking chair, toy chest, and table lamp. I finally cleaned out my Victorian attic, LOL! Happy Simming!
Harrow Cottage
The first cottage in the Bannoch Village series! It always seems I start with smaller lots first ... just easier to manage I think ... but the lots will get bigger (family-sized) as this community evolves. Please note that it is my belief that 'wizarding' folk do not have much decorating sense (Have you seen the Weasley family's house in the HP movie (?), oh lord, nothing matches, but I found it most comfortable-looking), so you may find odd colored walls and furniture. That's wizarding-folk for you!!! Here are 2 pix for a peek at Harrow Cottage ... must go now and test out the next house ... Lockett Cottage ... and trust me Balthazar Lockett may be a fantastic wizard ... but his decorating skills are way off, lol!
Bannoch Village Project
Well I'll be starting a rather large project this week. Bannoch Village will not be your ordinary village ... but an entirely 'wizarding' village. Loosely based on Hogsmeade, (that 'all' wizarding village in the Harry Potter series). Hogsmeade has already been done ... so I thought I would do my own version of a magical community. Hopefully, there will be many houses to fill an entire neighborhood ... that is my goal. The houses will be half timbered dwellings, with their own unique design, but sharing similar exterior walls. I have already created the exterior and some interior wallcoverings ... just a few bugs to work out on landscaping and fireplaces (yes, fireplaces). Some of the cottages will be nice ... and some rather shabby (you know how I love that) ... so in a week or so ... you might see those cottages start rolling in here at TSR! Wish me luck and hope the creative flow, flows!!!
A little update
It has been such a long since I wrote something in my blog. Even such a long time since I visited my page here at TSR.A lot has happened in the past year. I am recovering from a heavy WOW addiction and moved on to other things. Mainly 3D applications and graphic tools.
To answer the many requests: I don't think I will be returning to the Sims. Not in the near future at least.
I want to say thanks to all the lovely messages in my guestbook.I am happy to hear my object still have use to so many people. Sorry to all the members who have sended me a private message which I didn't reply. Because of my retirement as a creator and Sims-player and the fulltime WOW addiction, I totaly forgot about this all.
I have received a lot of questions about permission to use my objects. So hereby I give anybody permission to use my objects for recoloring and promo's. You don't have to send me pm's about this matter. Just have fun with it :))
Popup
As you may have seen I have made a new toy. I actually got some object animations to work for it (I added them myself, am am so proud lol) It gains logic to the toddler

Hi, I just back from school. My first recolor set is Buttercup baby room (mesh by Sasilia) will be publish on May 13. Hope you like it :D
Away from TSR for a short while...
Something has come up in RL and I'm going to be away from TSR for a week or two. I have a couple of lots all ready to go - just waiting for time to do the preview pics - so I'll post those when I return.Obviously I won't be able to answer PMs or guestbook messages during this time. If you have sent me a comment recently, thank you! I'm sorry I can't answer them all but they are very much appreciated. :)
Back soon,
Tiger
Welcome Flags
Well, back to flags again. Just a quick update to let you all know that the second flag collection for this month will be releasing this coming Monday, May 14'07 and features a healthy variety of all-purpose and all-season flags featuring the word 'welcome' on them.
In the meantime I'm hoping to get back to some of those projects I've started and put to the side but would like to finally get wrapped up. Hopefully with the extra long weekend next week I'll find a good chunck of time to get onto those.
Modern Set
The first of two sets of modern buildings coming your way! Out on Sunday 13th May, this first set consists of two unfurnished lots. The starter requires OFB only, the other lot needs NL and Uni, too. Hope you like them! The second set (a Home Business) will be along soon.
First TSR Mesh online!
Hi! My first own TSR Mesh is online! I hope you like it :o) ... Enjoy!STUD in Full Swing
Shop Til U Drop is in full swing. The second recolor of the shelves comes out today. There are two more in the queue and probably more coming down the line. But for now I'm having a ton of fun with the objects! I've done three sets of them and they'll be coming out in due course as well. If you have any colors or patterns that you'd like to see these in, let me know. Anoeska is doing the blue and pink and the black and white speckled. So far, I've done purple and red and a pastel patterned one. More to come! I just can't stop recoloring these things! Here are a few ideas:
Update on Current Project
Well, I've got two 'base game'-only homes built so far, but I'm finding that I really dislike working without expansion packs! It's so difficult to create decent-looking homes without matching building materials. Maxis is so bad at that. (Though, yes, with their newer EPs they've started getting better.)I'm considering switching my buildings to require the base game and at least Nightlife. Is that a fair combination to try? I'm assuming most people have purchased Nightlife, and my goal is to be able to create homes for the widest range of people.
If you guys have any ideas or opinions on this, please comment; I'd love to hear from you!
:)
Thanks!
Splinters and Such Things....
Sorry I have been out of action recently because I have moved into my new flat! Which of course means setting up things like broadband. I haven't had much of a chance to create anything so hopefully this weekend I can get into some recolouring. Actually I probably should buy a computer chair first because I am sitting on a carton OUCH - LOL! hugs Nancy xx | ![]() |
Mini Holiday
I just wanted to let you all know that I'll be away for one week. I'm going for a little holiday to Paris with my family. I also want to get some inspiration from all the things we are going to visit. So see you back soon.Evergreen Close
This is a preview of my next up and coming lot! Hope you like!! I have tried to please everyone by taking the feedback from my recent poll, as the majority of people wanted : 2floors, 3bedrooms, 3bathrooms, unfurnished with garage and swimming pool!
House M
Hi Everybody-House M will be availble starting on May 12th. Yea! I am halfway through the series.

Great, great holiday - just back!
Well we had such a marvellous time on holiday that we were able to take a few extra days, and got back on Monday, so I'm only back to TSR today.I've picked up on the Windmill theme and have just uploaded a Starter Home Windmill. It's called Windy Mill - some of you may remember Trumpton's Windy Miller ----- but his windmill was a bit less bashed-up than mine!!!
Men!!!
I haven't made a single thing since hubby got out of hospital as I've been devoting my simming time to doing the challenges. This is because I can do it with the laptop on my knee while watching TV whereas if I'm creating I do it at the dining room table in peace and quiet - unfortunately this would mean leaving the "invalid" unattended which he doesn't like and involves him going "Meeeeemoooo - make me a coffee" etc etc every 10 mins and disrupting my thought processes!!So the stroke equivalent of man 'flu is currently keeping me from creating at the mo ;)
House L
Just wanted to let everyone know that House L from the Alphabet Soup Series will be avalible May 10th.irene
Back to Build Mode!
Build mode objects are my first "meshing love", and I've gone back to them with a brand new "easy" staircase. I began this back in November, but then I had some troubles with the glass railing and concentrated on other projects. Now I've found the courage to finish it, and you can see the result here.
As you can see, the staircase matches Maxis Chiclettina door and I've completed the set with matching fences and a couple of recolours for the door itself.
It's not finished yet, but I think I'll be able to publish everything in a few days.
Veggies, Vigilante's & Vinyl!
Wow... Been a bit hectic here lately, and I have had a lovely long weekend away in the "Lake District" where we stayed in our... *deep breath* caravan Yes! Indeed, it sound very un rock n roll doesnt it? and indeed it is, BUT!!! when you all manage to pick yourselfves up off the floor and stop your sides aching & wipe away those tears of laughter... We have method to Mistress Madness!! Honest!!! you see, i have this "thing" about sleeping in other people's beds. what if the sheets havent been changed, what if my poor sensitive skin is allergic to the detergent they used? did the previous sleepers dribble on the pillow in their sleep? erk! SO! myself and him indoors bought a new caravan (which to be honest is better equipped with more mod cons than some houses, and has a proper double bed, cooker microwave, stereo, TV, fridge freezer etc) but anyway! Weekend was spent in the middle of 64 acres of National Trust woodland forest! peace and quiet whilst i read my latest slasherama novel by one of my fave authpurs, whose name is appopriately Karin Slaughter. How perfect is that, pitch black putside with ominous tree branch crunching and the birds outside dropping things onto the van roof, eerie owl like noises a plenty whilst reading a slasher novel...Anyway! Back to the title of todays blog! Veggies! indeed, since moving house, mistress has aquired this green thing called a Garden, admittedly Mistress has previously killed a cactus and house plants have been given the last rites before making it over the doorstep. Mistress is not green fingered at all. but strangely, after scoffing the fruits of the strawberry patch (literally) not long after moving in, I am determined to have a go. Im even getting accustomed to not screaming and running (yes, mistress running, a sight to see indeed) about the wasps and bees deliberately hunting me down and attacking me - now I merely squeal a bit and grip Dave's arm so tightly it goes a nice white colour...
My neighbours really dont like me too much at the moment, because I complained to the council that some fallen dead trees needed sorting out facing my house and they needed to do a litter pick of all the rubbish... sao the council came down and - brandishing chainsaws and a wood chipper, chopped down a load of trees, and left the rubbish. my neighbours are well chuffed at me spouting my mouth off!
In an effort to rid the house of a load of furniture and stuff that is too big for the new house. when it got to Daves rather old vinyl record collection, it was taking up too much room. so Mistress went into work and put an advert on my works for sale intranet page, and *puff* within 10 minutes it had gone. I had scoured ebay to see if it was stuff people paid for but alas even classic Black Sabbath, Frank Zappa and Deep Purple stuff wasnt going for more than a few quid, so i advertised it free to a good home... I think Dave was a bit shocked, but heck... I sweet talked him around - cos im good like that!
Chez Moi Teen Bedroom
The Chez Moi Teen Bedroom has been uploaded =]It should appear for downloading by the end of the week.
Got the thing!
The cause of my PC woes has been isolated and is being punished by acute disconnection from said PC and abandonment in clouds of dust that surround my desk. Stupid, useless, dead hard drive. If you read my last-but-one blog, you'll note that Microsoft's suggestion of 'hard drive' was well down the list of suspects. They would have had me rip out my motherboard first. Thankfully, I know nothing about motherboards, so resisted the temptation.
Anyhows... Having a WHOLE DAY without "Stop: Machine_Data_Exception" errors (you cannot begin to imagine the bliss of that!), I am making THE most unbelievably useless set you could ever imagine! And of course I shall release it here, and then wail when no-one downloads it. Business as usual, really. Even I don't know quite what to do with this set...
More soon!
May 7th, Update to Delightful Daisies - Table Lamp
Updated file--the "Delightful Daisies" Table Lamp mesh is now recolorable. I plan to release a mini-set of Victorian Nursery Extras, and the updated mesh file is required for one of the recolors to work properly. Please update your existing package, "cash_vickie_nursery_white_lamp_mesh.package." The new package will override the original lamp mesh. Thanks, and Happy Simming!
In search of an Artist
I have an artist i need to thank, i downloaded this mesh before i even knew how to make outfits or knew what a mesh was.If anyone knows the artist that created this mesh can you please Pm Me.
Thanks in Advance.
I'm back
Work took me out of town for a few days and I had very limited access to the internet. I want to thank everyone who has sent congratulations and hopefully I'll get responses out in the next day or so. But I'm back out of town on Thursday so things are a little crazy right now! That said, I'm working on the final 2 installments of the Cottage decorating set, adding in shower curtain recolors, bedding recolors, and a bedroom set. I'll try to get a preview up today or tomorrow, or as soon as I can drag myself inside...the weather here is absolutely spectacular! Have a great day!Free Sets in May

Charmed Sims
Charmed Sims are my favorite to create, trying to do my best to show realism. As i continue to work on the Charmed ones, the better i feel i get at coming closer to making the Charmed Cast without using masks.I am not a Creator!
I have to tell you that I am not a creator... I am just a gamer who loves playing the sims! When I create a family I also create the story in my mind ( I know most of you do too) and then I picture their home... All the houses I have created they are the result of this process... For some of them I am proud and this is why I decided to upload them at TSR. For my needs I create the walls and floors... Even the swimwear as I did lately. I do not usually create clothes...I download hundreds of them during weekends lol. But when I did my Beach Bar lot I pictured these semi tranparent swimwear and I made them...Poll results
Thank you to everyone who participated in my latest poll.A 140 people answered the poll question and the results were as follows,
(Q) What type of lot would you like to see more of?
Residential 52.86%
Home Business 29.29%
Community 19.29%
University Dorm 16.43%
Commercial 12.86%
I should have the next poll question up later this week so please check back for more info.
Have a great day!
May's free set (from 8 May 2007)
Free for May are a set of glass floor tiles. But these are no ordinary tiles! They are visible from below as well as above, making them great for conservatories, biospheres, clever domed roofs which Tiko will tell you how to build, greenhouses - or whatever you like, really.
Double-sided Glass Floor Tiles
Fixed Sintesi Mirror and more...
Making the latest (maybe the last) recolour of my Sintesi Bedroom, I noticed that the mirror had a shadow which was too big and evident when playing with the walls always up.Nobody reported to me, so I think that little people play with walls always visible; but I didn't like it and decided to update it. If you downloaded the Sintesi Mirror before May, the 7th, you can re-download the fixed version at this link http://www.thesimsresource.com/downloads/sims2/objects/furnishing/decorative/mirrors/479356/
I've also finished and submitted the black and white recolour, which has a shiny finish, that will hopefully give it a look of laquered wood. This is the best I could do with it, since the game has some restraints on reflective materials. Let me know if you like it.
April 3,2007
*****I love the colors of the world and how they mix and interact withnature. I try to bring this life and vibrancy into my sims2 recolors.*****
I am the mom of 4 exceptional teenagers whom I suspect are insane. I enjoy my cats who always look
at me with love in their eyes.
thanks for joymie to let me use his model for my uploaded clothes named jowin.
