My New Minisite
I finally earned enough Kudos to get my own minisite! Im so unbelievably excited!! Ill have to make a better banner image, but this one will work for now.I plan on using my blog to preview projects that I'm working on. Well, that's what I'll do when I figure out how to add pictures. My first Poll topic will "What should I make next" with a list of project ideas. I'll try to get that up before the weekend.
This is probably long enough for my first blog entry.
~Lisa
Jezebel
Here's a preview of my latest project: luxurious lingerie sets in 6 colours, comprising beautiful boned basque with lace-trimmed cups, sexy sheer panels and corset-style lace up back; worn with sheer lace-trimmed matching panties.
For adults and young adults. Standard Maxis mesh. No expansion packs required.
To Do List
I've got loads of stuff to do before I even get to making anything new, I've downloaded Lucas' Easy Bedding Texture Creator from Aussietopenders, so I've got to re do all my bedding and reload it. I've made a lot of patchwork quilts which I haven't uploaded here so they need redoing as well. When I first started at TSR I couldn't get my head around the group thing so I'm organising all my uploads into groups.
I've got a floor to create for Uncertainsmile (I haven't forgotten!)
I've promised a couple of people more brownie uniform stuff...
Lastly I've got the holiday pack to install before I get Seasons (which I've dropped several BIG hints about to my kids with mother's day coming up....)
O'Mackey Tragedy Story
I have decided that I would remove this story, for now, after getting comments about wanting the ending changed because of it being depressing/sad. I was originally planning on writing a sequel, but I decided that I would delete the original story and bundle the sequel into the first story. So, if you were wondering what happened to it, it's gone for now, but I have just resubmitted it, so it should be published soon.Constructing the Chteau
I promised a few pics of how I built the Chteau de Chenonceau. After studying reference pictures of the RL chteau (which you can google) I was able to decide on the size of lot I would need.As you can see, I built a large foundation and started at the back of the lot, marking out where certain features were going to go:

I continued to build up one side of the chteau, experimenting with the roof shapes, to determine how deep the building was going to be:

It didn't look too bad from the side... until you had a look at what was going on behind the facade:

I was using CFE as I went along to get the arches I wanted over the water. Once I was happy with the side, I moved onto the front facade and began experimenting again:

After that, I built up the reverse:

And then I had a complete panic about how I was actually going to join the building sitting in the lake to the grounds! I eventually solved this with more CFE work:

Eventually... many hours later... ta-daa! The chteau emerged!

Then, I just had to move inside and sort out the interior. Which also took a while. Altogether it was 42 hours of building. That's a LOT of experimentation and hair-pulling!
Bye for now!
Tiger :-)
Eden Deja Vu
Finally! Finally, those much awaited skintones of mine are near release. Earlier today my Eden "clothing" was released, which I think is a fitting introduction to the entire set. I created those as a way of de-naughtifying the screenshots, so that they would be acceptable to everyone, and I think I succeeded. I actually really like the idea of them, because they fit well with the theme I had in mind, and you really can make an "Eden" of your own! I know I am having alot of fun with mine.:pAs for the skintones, there are four sets, and they will be released on the rest of the fridays remaining in March. I wish I could get it all out at once, since I have been looking forward to it for so long, but it is a huge set, afterall, and its probably easier to swallow this way. I really, really, hope that you all enjoy them. I'm very glad to finally pass them along.
Creative Commons Music
I've been searching around for some creative commons licensed music to use for my movies, and found a very interesting selection on this french based site called Jamendo.Thoughts on Collaboration
Lately I have been asked by a few people if I would do some things for The Elder Scrolls, and I seriously thought about it, but that would mean a venture into Maya or 3D Studio Max, neither of which do I have, nor can I afford. So I had to decline the privilege of being notorious in yet another gaming community. Although as a previous blog entry stated, fame comes with a cost.
I suppose anyone who is determined can achieve wonders in a 3D meshing programme. I have to look no further than the pages of TSR to see the sort of industrious application of that sort of determination. We all have out individual skills, and I suppose we never see the true merit of our own work. I equally suppose, it takes someone asking us to do something in another game to open our eyes a little. I generally think fame = big head, and it is refreshing to see so many pleasantly natured creators at TSR. Lord knows I have stood on the receiving end of some warm fuzziness here, I wish I could say as much for all sites related to The Sims & The Sims 2.
Competition is good, they say. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. Competition doesn't lead to collaboration, and that is truly what The Sims 2 needs, more collaboration. I saw a lot of that in the good old days of The Sims (original), I'd like to see that sort of group effort in the community that has developed for The Sims 2. Yeah, sure, we had some stinkers and flies in the ointment back in the day, but we were more enthusiastic about discovering and making.
I remember something one of university professors said once about Internet societies, they always devolve into an anarchy of emotional over-abundance driven by that most base of human appetites: to be superior to one's fellows in some manner.
Sort of bleak, but the fact TSR endures is a testament to good management that keeps the drama beat down and keeps the focus on the game. TSR engenders a spirit of collaboration, many of the artists are amazingly friendly, and there is a deep desire to make things that others want but can't make themselves. It is a sort of a break from the antagonisms and competitions of the salon-society mind-set. It makes TSR a most welcome and happy place away from the drama.
Seasons & Me
I hate to admit I was wrong about anything, maybe that is just part of being male, I don't know. But the more I tinker about with Seasons, the more I grow to like it. So maybe just maybe I will say I was wrong to be so full of dread and doom-crying; although I didn't do much doom-crying about Seasons... I was after all waging my one-man war to have the designers of the Pets EP tried for crimes agains the Simmers of the world. Surely Pets EP is as dastardly and vile a trick as George Lucas played on the world with JarJar Binks.
I have to say I am really far more please with Seasons than many of the other expansion packs, and as soon as the initial furor dies down and we are all again nicely tucked into our games, I see great potential for many new items.
I would LOVE to work with cyclonesue on a urban winter theme with things like snowy building ledges with huddled pigeons and sidewalks/pavements with a narrow path shovelled clear in the snow :)
My currently shelved project, a railway yard with locomotives and wagons (cars for you Yanks), is still shiny in my eyes, but this is waiting for the Seasons help demand cycle to die off a bit before I can have the time to finish it.
I'd love to rip the entire Railroad Tycoon 3 line-up of locomotives and wagons LOL but since they use a vastly different polygon count than would be suitable for The Sims 2, it is going to be done the old-fashioned way and Lordy me! That takes time! LOL
The end of poll #1
The Midtown Collection has taken a surprising leap ahead. The Sterling Collection is in third right now, but I'm not quite ready to upload it. So I'll be doing the Midtown, the Sebring, the Capri, the Sterling, then the Metro. So now I'll be putting up another poll. It'll be a while before I'm ready to start working on new sets again, so I decided to put this poll up now so there's plenty of time for voting before I begin working. I'll likely take the top five results to begin working on, then I'll put up another poll to see if more bedrooms is what you all want. So here are the bedrooms to choose from. I'm narrowing it down to 12 (from 29!), then I'll have five questions with the same answer choices, so you can choose more than one. ****Edit: I changed the poll to hopefully keep it from taking up so much space, so I wrote the numbers next to the set titles here. Set #1: The Aaron Collection
Set #2: The Anna Collection
Set #3: The Pablo Collection
Set #4: The Q-Bik Collection
Set #5: The Contemporary Silver Collection
Set #6: The Contemporary Silver Platform Collection
Set #7: The Contemporary Streamlined Collection
Set #8: The Italian Sunset Collection
Set #9: The Nouveau Collection
Set #10: The Polaris Collection
Set #11: The Mariella Collection
Set #12: The Torino Collection
Tigerblue has had the flu :-(
...but I'm bouncing back now (oh yes, you don't get rid of me that easily) and I've just uploaded a new set - out Sunday 11th. Back with more details; those Chateau pics I promised and other stuff soon :-) And if you've left me a comment recently, thank you!New hair recolors coming soon! (previews)
Finally I was able to do some more hair colors. More hair colors from Xmsims in 5 colors (see preview of 2 colors below). I hope you like them. I'm also working on a new home to submit, but it's taking me longer than usual because I'm in school. I plan to finish it soon. Don't forget! Let me know what you think of my new hair colors!
Also, I have a poll on my front page. I was always curious about what type of red colors eveyrone like. If you can, vote on my poll and let me know which one you prefer. I usually do the dark red colors (those are my favorites). So let me know and as always I appreciate your feedback. Hugs, queenie.
Creations Updated for Seasons!
Hi everyone;I just updated previously published creations I made in December, to appear in the outerwear catagory of "Season's". The Bur-Beri and Fur-N-Boots set's using Sim2Sister's mesh and the Wool-n-Fur set using the Glamour Stuff mesh. I re-featured these sets below for easy updating.
Sim-cerely;

New Mini Site
Yey! I got a mini site!! I promise to fill it with lots of nice things for you to download!--->
I'm away from home for a week so I can't update my minisite for a while. But I'll try to upload something as soon as I get home :)I feel like Death!
I know ive not uploaded anything for a while, you see, it seems that the Medications my doctor has been palming me off with for so many years has finally taken its toll on my stomach, and all weekend and several previous weekends has seen me forming a very close and bonding relationship with the toilets, and yelling for Hughey and Ralph with alarming regularity. For those who do not know, since several sports injuries in the past and a few stumbles (one down a set of concrete steps which really bust up the kneecaps!) at the grand old age of 32 I have OsteoArthritis.. yeees I can "Feel it in my bones" when its going to rain!! Anyway, seems that the tablets ole Doc gives me have caused a very nice Stomach Ulcer.. fantastic! So I havent been able to do very much lately, but I have promised Kat i WILL be uploading the Nouveau Riche lot i made yonks ago for a build contest.. I WILL I PROMISE!!!
Anyway, now i have yet MORE pills to take to counteract the effects of the other pills (Seeing a theme here yet?!) Im hoping to get back to my normal, cheek and deeply sarcastic self very soon! Take care XXX
The Joys of Being Free Tech Support
The past few days since installing The Sims 2 Seasons EP, then un-installing Seasons and then installing The Sims 2 Pets EP & The Sims 2 Seasons EP, then un-installing both and installing The Sims 2 Pets EP, The Sims 2 Holiday 2006 Stuff, & The Sims 2 Seasons EP, as well as The Sims(TM) Life Stories; answering about 500 help-request PMs & emails, and answering about 150 threads on 4 forums, writing FAQs and tutorials on using Photoshop & MilkShape 3D, and holding my house-mate's hand as she goes along the first stages of making custom content... I wonder if I will ever get to play the games I have installed. LOL
The unwritten clause of that contract all custom content creators forget signing is the one that causes all this woeful consumption of time; that delicately worded clause that says you will render technical support to people using or wanting to use your creations. I don't know how EA could have made installing custom content any easier, but I sure wish they gave end-users far better instruction in that worthless little booklet that ships with our installation media.
I never lose sight of the fact that once upon a time I didn't know all the things I know now; I can't really remember the details of that former time, but I know it had to exist, because I wasn't born a simmer. This game has a steep learning curve and as much as we all like to bat our eyes and act like it is easy, the easy part is dropping the goodies in the Downloads folder. The truth is for a thing with no moving parts, The Sims 2 is a grotesquely complex thing... it is a miracle it works at all.
I am not saying we should stop making custom content, but I think the last person who should be rendering free tech support for The Sims 2 and The Sims(TM) Life Stories should be us modders and custom content creators, we are on the other side of that knowledge gap, sometimes so far on the other side we can't even believe that some people need instructions on the most rudimentary things.
We have dozens of help FAQs and fora where the middle range can get help, but the true novice is completely in the dark even on how to locate and usually lacks the experience that is needed to understand our explanations that are based on assumed knowledge. *sigh* There are days when all I want to do is just make some beefed up Sims and have them play house for me, but with something like 6000 files and over a quarter million downloads spread across more than a dozen sites, it looks like I will be one of the last to do what all the fans of my work get to do
... no good deed goes unpunished
TS1 for TS2 Set
You may have though I have completely forgot about this set, but I have not. In fact, I have been working on tweaking some of the meshes so that the texture looks better and the mesh itself looks overall better. Here's the first one that I've improved, the clothes rack from Hot Date. My Original Mesh:
Mesh Version 2:
As you can see, I have dramatically improved the mesh, and for one, it's not nearly as large and bulky as the original, it's much brighter, and the mirror works much better too.
However, please don't expect this set for some time. I'm still working on it, and I want to make all the meshes as high quality as possible, and some will even have recolors!
That's it for now, and happy simming!
~simmyfan2852~
Back to work!
Phew! I am officially done with my portfolio project (yay!), so now I can get back to work on my simmy projects. The next set I'm uploading is my 'Modern Georgian Manor Set'. Expect to see it available for download sometime this week =]
Well . . . .
No one has said anythng about the possbility of a dining room add-in. Does that mean no one is interested, or that you are too busy to read my drivel right now?Next up are telephones. It took me a while before I released them because the handset still showed up in beige and I thought I'd done something wrong. Turns out you have to put in the phone, go into buy mode and then back to design mode and choose a different color handset separately. Very strange. But it means you can have the same color handset, too. Or the beige looks good too. Up to you.
What's in the queue? There are lots more rugs, floors, walls, paintings, etc. In addition, I've started participating in the Texture Challenge forum, so I've been making sets for that. They will show up in time. If anyone gets impatient for anything they see there, let me know. I can always give it a bump.
In addition, I'm made a couple of single bed bedroom sets and the plain rugs in two sets I told you about earlier. Haven't uploaded those yet. And there are more Turano sets to come.
I also had a request for some walls, so they have the gothic arch molding and a solid color on the bottom and the two-tone stripes like those just released on the top. I may never be done with the 20 colors because people keep suggesting more things!
I'm also trying to finish up a set of Arizona bookcases to go with my Arizona desks. I really like the Holy Simoly stuff and will probably do more of that in the future. There is at least one Holy Simoly Arizona Living Room resulting out of the texture challenge. There is a pic of it in the forum, so stop by!
Lots of New Stuff
I have submitted the Seasons Set 1! I think it turned out great! Also, I have two new stories I've just submitted. The first is the 4th episode of Extreme Sim Homemakeover, and personally, this one is my favorite of the four. I have also uploaded The O'Mackey Tragedy. It is based on the character Jules O'Mackey from TheSims 2 Seasons, Riverblossom Hills. The story pretty much starts off of what happened when I started playing that family, and I decided to write a story about it, filled with tragedy. I hope you will enjoy both of them when they are published.
Also, I will begin work on a new set soon called The Onyx Living Room Set. Then, I will make my second Seasons set.
That's it for now.
Happy simming!

As there seems to bee a need for medieval skill toys here is a charisma one. Adds charisma and fun
The Sims 2 Season Expansion Pack & My Reconciliation With The Game
I guess everyone has strong feelings about certain things, I am certainly prone to my share of rants and raves. The Pets EP really was a tragic moment in game history as far as I am concerned, equal to the mistake made releasing the infamous Unleashed EP. BUT, Seasons EP has actually gone a far way to redeem The Sims 2 for me, and The Sims(tm) Life Stories has presented me with a much needed tool for testing my creations. EA got something right in both these recent releases.
I understand that EA recently rehired the same CEO (John Riccitiello, see pic) that made the original The Sims the success it was. Let's hope this heralds a new chapter in the quality of the expansion packs and a decrease of bugs, incompatibility issues, and other craziness for all the custom content makers and users of the various Sim games.
I am willing to give the new (old) guy a chance and will back off my grousing for a while.
The Sims(tm) Life Stories & The Sims 2
I have been reviewing the compatabilities of custom content and mods for The Sims 2 in The Sims(tm) Life Stories, and I have to say I am more than moderately impressed. The potential for custom content creators to have a fast-loading, light-weight test-bed for their creations by using The Sims(tm) Life Stories is singularly appealing. I hope to have the opportunity to make plenty of cross-game content available on TSR :) The Sims(tm) Life Stories so far proves to be far better a tool than I had hoped. And my testing to date shows that most camera mods work in the game (if images do not appear my Photobucket bandwidth has been used up for the month, so come back next month to see them): Using a camera mod
Using custom sims and genetics/clothing seems to work well. You will need to download the registration incentives from the The Sims(tm) Life Stories and install them to start the process, but then it is a matter of enabling custom content just like one does in Nightlife Expansion Pack and later:
Enable Custom Content:
Custom Sims in The Sims(tm) Life Stories Sim-Bin:
You need to use Sims2Pack Clean Installer to add the Sims if they are in Sims2Pack files, but otherwise it is just like adding content to The Sims 2.
Because of the unexpected similarities of the two game, I see it as a most admirably versatile tool for custom content creators. I won't speak regarding the playability, since I have hardly any time to actually play games since I am so often under the bonnet poking and proding the engine. LOL
Mar. 4th, Freebie!
On March 4th, Retro Modern Style--Bedroom Set will be a free download. The free set download will be available for 4 weeks. Happy Simming! You can download the set on Mar. 4th here Retro Modern Style--Bedroom Set.
Also, free is the mesh file for the set's chaise SIM Comfy Living Chaise
Creativity item
I am not sure what to call this item, but it will be a toy and the toddler gains creativity from it. The toddler realy isnt playing with the log, but with an imaginary toy. It was so cute so I made it that way.
Quick Update
Hi all, tomorrow Sunday 4th I have a set of New Mesh Curtains linked to the Seasons New Window Dressing Curtain, I made it because I wanted to use that curtain on other windows without having to use cheats. Both meshes take their textures from that curtain so any recolours will show for my 2 meshes as well.Next week I have a new Kitchen set being released this is my first kitchen, it is in a rustic style like my lounge set.
Enjoy!!
Andrea:)
Indian Inspired Living Series
Sorry for the late update, real life has gotten in the way a little, lol.For those that might have missed it, I published my Indian Study this past week, along with the usual 3 recolor sets.
you can find the mesh set here.
I have received many comments and PM asking if there will be more in the series, some even with suggestions as to what they'd like to have added. Therefore I thought I'd let you all know what my plans are.
I am currently working on a matching nursery, which seems to be growing in size that it will probably end up in two parts, 1- baby nursery, 2- toddlers haven. Next on the list will be the bathroom, then the kitchen. I also have plans for a meal set as well as a build mode set :). I'm not 100% sure yet, need to find some more inspiration, but I am also contemplating a garden set- plants, herbs...will see.
That should cover pretty much everything but clothes and lots, lol.
If you do have some more suggestions send them my way, I'll see what I can do :).
Sims Seasons
I think I am in love with an expansion pack 'I LOVE SIMS SEASONS' although I seem to lack a green thumb when it comes to orchard trees, they don't seem to like me very much but I just keep spraying the pesticide on them hehehe, roll on plant people.I think Maxis has outdone themselves this time and can't wait to see what they think up next, it will have to be awesome to compete with Seasons.
Happy simming to all :)

Plop down your favourite versions of my flags in your Sims' yards and invite the Garden Club over to review your gardens - they love my flags and include them with their review process for positive points! Here's a screenshot I took while the Pleasants were having their efforts scored:
Think of it this way, now you have a valid in-game reason to stuff your Downloads folder with so many flag recolours - your Sims will thank you for it! :P
Seasons
Hello out there sim fans! I hope those of you who have recieved Seasons are enjoying; I know that I am! For those of you who haven't gotten the game yet, I hope you are able to get it soon to be able to enjoy all the new stuff. This brings me to the next thing... I will be working on the Seasons Set 1 soon. But first, I want to enjoy just playing the game for a bit before going on to creating for it.
Until next time...
Happy simming!
~simmyfan2852~
WOW I did it
I have been working so hard to get myself to the stage of having my own minisite and I finally made it. Thank you to all in the simming community who have been downloading my stuff over the last couple of months, it really means a lot to me to know that people out there like what I am doing with my walls and floors.I have put out feelers at the moment and am looking for a good site to get tips for dummies on recolouring objects and creating meshes, which is something I hope to get into when I finally get my brain around SimPE.
Until then I will try to continue giving 'NO COST' quality walls and floors, as well as the occasional pet and house :).
Happy simming to all at TSR.
So, So Busy
Some of you may know that we also operate 4 online shops (lekkershops.com). Well, we've been terribly busy with paying work that our poor simmies are terribly neglected. Hopefully we'll catch up in the next month or two and be able to upload some of the stuff I did so long ago. I am dying to play again, but I don't need yet another time suck :)Turano Dining Rooms
One person can affect change. I had someone comment that the Turano Dining Room looked too empty. So I was thinking about making an add-on pack after I finish with the dining rooms of little decorative things that could go in it to spruce it up. First of all, I'd like to know if that interests any of you. Second, I'd like to know what kind of things you might like to see. Any suggestions, no matter how bizarre, will be considered. But I'll still make up my own mind, being the stubborn one I am.Oh, and I almost forgot. Thank you to everyone who has participated in my latest poll. You guys do like your kitchens, don't you? I think I'll be concentrating on living rooms and bedrooms mostly for a while now and get back to the kitchens eventually. And there may also be a restaurant in there somewhere.
